In 2009–10, Boschker played in all 34 games as Twente won the first league title in the club's history – he only conceded 23 goals, second-best in the competition. Since 2010, though, he acted as understudy to Nikolay Mihaylov, and spent most of the following year rehabbing after two calf injuries. On 25 June 2012, Boschker extended his link for another year. He retired at the end of the 2013–14 season.

The season after Given's arrival saw Blackburn win the Premier League title and Given was unable to oust first-choice goalkeeper and England international Tim Flowers from the team. He made two loan moves to Swindon Town. Given acted as understudy during his first spell at the Wiltshire club but helped them start their Championship winning Division Two campaign during the 1995–96 season. He played in five games for Swindon before returning to Blackburn at the end of 1995.

He would go on to earn promotion to the Premier League the following season and in total was promoted three times with City in a ten-year spell. By the time he left the club in 2007 he had been the club's second choice keeper for a number of years and had acted as understudy to the likes of Peter Schmeichel, David Seaman and David James. He went on to appear for Charlton Athletic, Dundee United, Burnley, Sheffield Wednesday and Aberdeen.

Fabiano moved to FC Porto in late May 2012, penning a four-year contract. He acted as understudy to compatriot Helton in his debut campaign, subsequently becoming a starter after an injury to the latter. On 21 April 2015, in an away fixture for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League against FC Bayern Munich, his team lost 6–1, making it the worst in their European history. In the subsequent off-season, he was loaned to Fenerbahçe SK. Back at the Estádio do Dragão, Fabiano missed the vast majority of 2017–18 due to an injury to his right knee.

He made four further appearances during the season and another four the following season as he acted as understudy to first choice goalkeeper Tom Farquharson. In January 1930, he was allowed to join Middlesbrough in a triple transfer with teammates John Jennings and Fred Warren. As part of the deal, Cardiff agreed to a clause that would see the club receive a further £250 if both Hillier and Jennings played in twenty league matches for Middlesbrough. When both players reached the tally in May 1933, Cardiff issued a request for the money to be paid but received a cheque for just £50.

In the summer of 2005, six months after Dišljenković's departure to Ukraine's FC Metalurh Donetsk, Stojković returned to Red Star where he initially acted as understudy to experienced Ivan Ranđelović. However, ahead of the UEFA Cup first round return leg trip to S.C. Braga, head coach Walter Zenga promoted him to first-choice, and the player seized the opportunity, immediately impressing in the new role as the team defeated the Portuguese on away goals to qualify for the group stages. It would be at this stage of the competition that Stojković would get his most memorable moment of the season, saving a penalty from Antonio Cassano who attempted a Panenka-shot, as Red Star beat A.S. Roma 3–1 at home. A new fan favorite from then onwards, he cemented his place in goal as the club won the league and cup double.

Born in Vigo, Galicia, Giménez played his first eight seasons as a senior in Segunda División B, with Celta de Vigo B and Zamora CF.
