The Murphy Ranch house in Los Angeles, 2006 The Murphy Ranch is a ranch built in Rustic Canyon, Los Angeles in the 1930s by Winona and Norman Stephens, who were sympathizers of the anti-semitic, white supremacist Silver Legion of America. The owner of record in 1933 was Jessie M. Murphy. Designed as a base for Nazi activities in the U.S., it was intended to be capable of being self- sustaining for long periods. The compound had a water storage tank, a fuel tank, a bomb shelter, and various outbuildings and bunkers.

Igor Kačić (23 August 1975 – 20 November 1991) was a Croatian teenager who was killed during the Vukovar massacre. Kačić was born and raised in Vukovar to Petar and Irena Kačić with his twin sister Silvia and older sister Sandra. At the beginning of the Battle of Vukovar during the Croatian War of Independence, Kačić was supposed to attend the second grade of the Electrical engineering high school in Vukovar. On September 14, 1991, the Kačić family apartment was destroyed by shelling, after which they were forced to seek refuge in a bomb shelter.

The second modern Krypto was a small white pet dog, rescued, and later named by Bibbo Bibbowski. Originally, Bibbo had wanted to name the dog "Krypton" after Superman's home planet. However, the engraver of the dog tag (knowing that Bibbo had recently won the lottery) intentionally dropped the letter "n" ("Six letters or less for 1 dollar"), so he was trying to extort more money from Bibbo; an angry Bibbo refused to comply and renamed the dog "Krypto."
