Pharsalia is a historic plantation house and farm complex located near Tyro, Nelson County, Virginia. Pelias was power-hungry and he wished to gain dominion over all of Thessaly. To this end, he banished Neleus and Pherês, and locked Aeson in the dungeons in Iolcus (by the modern city of Volos). While in the dungeons, Aeson married and had several children, most famously, Jason.

Carcinus () was an Ancient Greek tragedian, and was a member of a family including Xenocles (a father or uncle) and his grandfather Carcinus of Agrigentum. Dician attempts to convince Ship to come with her to the One Sith, but Ship refuses, believing them weak for choosing to hide from the galaxy. Ship eventually arrives on Kesh, where a stranded Lost Tribe of the Sith remain isolated from the rest of the galaxy. The first known criticism is an apparent reference in Chaucer's 'Man of Law's Prologue': the eponymous Man, praising Chaucer, observes that : no word ne writeth he :Of thilke wikke ensample of Canacee :That loved hir owene brother synfully-- :Of swiche cursed stories I say fy!-- :Or ellis of Tyro Appollonius, :How that the cursed kyng Antiochus :Birafte his doghter of hir maydenhede, :That is so horrible a tale for to rede ::(Canterbury Tales, II.77-84: Bradley et al. 1988) Both these examples are references to the Confessio (Canace is III.143-336), and it has sometimes been thought that this passage was the direct cause of the removal of the dedication to Chaucer from the later editions of the work (see "Textual History" above).

After leaving Winston-Salem and Forysth County, the numerous shopping centers that aligned the road are replaced by housing developments. NC 150 becomes a two-lane road again as the highway continues southward (signed west) through the community of Arcadia. The highway passes through an interchange with US 64 and continues into the communities of Reeds and Tyro. Near the Churchland community, NC 150 takes an odd turn east, despite being signed west, toward I-85/US 29/70/52 to avoid crossing the Yadkin River. At I-85, NC 150's routing used to be quite unusual. Before the reconstruction of the I-85 through the area, the westbound NC 150 roadway merged onto I-85 southbound lanes and the routes were concurrent for about before NC 150 left- exited with US 29/70 southward. Northbound US 29/70 and eastbound NC 150 entered I-85 northbound on the left and the NC 150 exit ramp was immediately on the right. Since it was nearly impossible for one traveling on NC 150 northbound to exit there, motorists were directed to the next exit, Clark Road, which returned to the main roadway using signs.
