This idea made it far into development with Martin Marietta contracted to design and fabricate the container.
This wall is around 400m high and almost 2 km wide. Below this well are immense scree slopes, equally high, that descend steeply towards the bottom of the Skrka valley, which contains both Veliko Skrcko Jezero (1686m) and Malo Skrcko Jezero (1711m) lakes. This is reputed to be the most beautiful part of the Durmitor Mountain Range. On the south side, Bobotov Kuk drops steeply towards the basin of Zeleni Vir (2028m) lake.
Winter looking towards the bottom of Baldy Bowl Map of the Mount San Antonio massif Baldy Bowl is a fluvial cirque, in the San Gabriel Mountains of the U.S. state of California, that forms much of the upper south face of Mount San Antonio. It is one of the most visited backcountry locales in the San Gabriels, and is popular with skiers, hikers, and climbers. It has a base elevation of around .
Joass made his first grade debut for Western Suburbs in Round 2 1911 against Newtown. In the same year, Joass was selected to play for New South Wales and scored a try on his representative debut against Queensland which ended in The Blues winning 49–0. Joass was also selected to play for Metropolis in 1911. Joass remained a loyal player to Wests even though the club remained towards the bottom of the ladder.
After Ramsay MacDonald formed the National Government, Labour was deeply divided. Attlee had long been close to MacDonald and now felt betrayed—as did most Labour politicians. During the course of the second Labour government, Attlee had become increasingly disillusioned with MacDonald, whom he came to regard as vain and incompetent, and of whom he later wrote scathingly in his autobiography. He would write:Contains excerpt from Attlee's biography towards the bottom of the page; accessed 26 July 2017.
The project was to relocate John Lewis and use the old store as a two-tiered shopping mall with covered streets. The proposal also included the pedestrianisation of Charter Row and the demolition of several buildings such as the Grosvenor House Hotel. Burgess Street would be realigned by redirecting it down towards the bottom of Barkers Pool as opposed to its current position parallel with Cambridge Street. Proposals are under review following the termination of agreement with Hammerson.
Catawbiense album, the only variation of R. album used in the study, was found to be more susceptible than three of the other types of rhododendron (McDonalad et al. 2006). Tissue Proliferation Tissue proliferation is another disorder Rhododendron album has encountered in nurseries. It was first found in the mid-1980s and is characterized by tumor like growths. These growths are usually towards the bottom of the stem, but can be above or below the soil line (Zimmerman, 1997).
Kidd made his first grade debut against Western Suburbs in 1966. In 1967, Kidd guided Canterbury to their first grand final in 20 years as they reached the final against South Sydney. Since their last grand final appearance in 1947, the club struggled towards the bottom of the table and only reached the finals once culminating in a last placed finish in 1964. Kidd played at halfback in the 1967 NSWRL grand final as Souths took an early lead.
In the process of plant shoots growing opposite the direction of gravity by gravitropism, high concentration of auxin moves towards the bottom side of the shoot to initiate cell growth of the bottom cells, while suppressing cell growth on the top of the shoot. This allows the bottom cells of the shoot to continue a curved growth and elongate its cells upward, away from the pull of gravity as the auxin move towards the bottom of the shoot.
The largest shrine of the cave is found here. The shrine is dedicated to Pan and looks a like a rough imitation of the facade of a temple. A headless seated figure and an object with a shape resembling an omphalos are hewn from the rock in this room, but they are too damaged to be identified. After descending more steps a rock-cut shrine to Apollo Hersus is found towards the bottom of the cave.
The following year, Eastern Suburbs again reached the finals but were defeated by reigning premiers Parramatta in the preliminary final 33–0. Warnecke played with Easts until the end of the 1984 season where the club finished second last on the table before leaving the club to join Western Suburbs. Warnecke played 13 games in his one season at Wests as the club finished towards the bottom of the ladder. Warnecke retired following the conclusion of the 1985 season.
Their last full season in the league was 1921–22, as after starting the 1922–23 season their record was expunged. Mardy generally finished towards the bottom of the table in their seasons in the league. After the First Division sides left the league in 1920 to join The Football League Mardy continued to struggle, finishing in the bottom two for the next two seasons. Former Mardy players include Jack Cartmell, John Goodall and Proctor Hall.
Schloss made his debut for Gold Coast in round 22 1994 against Eastern Suburbs. Schloss spent 4 years at the club as they struggled towards the bottom of the ladder but shocked everyone in 1997 by qualifying for the finals. This was the first and only time any of the Gold Coast sides had made the finals. Gold Coast went on to win their elimination final against Illawarra but were knocked out the following week by Eastern Suburbs.
Thornton made his first grade debut for Canterbury-Bankstown against Newtown in Round 16 1955 at Belmore Oval. Canterbury would go on to finish the 1955 season in second last place just above Western Suburbs. Thornton would go on to become a regular starter in the Canterbury side over the coming seasons as the club continued to struggle towards the bottom of the ladder. Canterbury managed to avoid the wooden spoon partly in thanks to rivals Parramatta.
Daniel-Johnson Dam, Quebec, is a multiple-arch buttress dam. Two types of single-arch dams are in use, namely the constant- angle and the constant-radius dam. The constant-radius type employs the same face radius at all elevations of the dam, which means that as the channel grows narrower towards the bottom of the dam the central angle subtended by the face of the dam becomes smaller. Jones Falls Dam, in Canada, is a constant radius dam.
Sedimentation is the opposite phenomenon of creaming and normally observed in water-in-oil emulsions. Sedimentation happens when the dispersed phase is denser than the continuous phase and the gravitational forces pull the denser globules towards the bottom of the emulsion. Similar to creaming, sedimentation follows Stoke's law. An appropriate "surface active agent" (or "surfactant") can increase the kinetic stability of an emulsion so that the size of the droplets does not change significantly with time.
Raper played in Penrith's first ever game as a club against Canterbury which ended in a 15–12 defeat. Penrith went on to finish second last in their inaugural season avoiding the wooden spoon which was awarded to fellow new side Cronulla. Raper went on to play with Penrith for a further 3 seasons with the club struggling towards the bottom of the ladder. At the end of 1970, Raper left Penrith to join Cronulla for the 1971 season.
Eventually, Sims moved it towards the bottom of the resort to make it less steep and more rideable for snowboarders controlling their speed. In 1986, the World Championship moved to Breckenridge, Colorado. Again, they were met with trouble constructing the half-pipe as the employees in Breckenridge had never constructed and most even seen a half-pipe. After the competition the half- pipe was left up, becoming the first permanent pipe at a resort and began spreading the awareness of half-pipes.
Tassell made his first grade debut for Eastern Suburbs against Parramatta in Round 14 1990 which ended in a 42-12 loss at Henson Park. Tassell played with Easts until the end of the 1994 season before departing to join arch rivals South Sydney. Tassell played a total of 3 seasons at South Sydney as the club struggled towards the bottom of the ladder. Tassell's final game in the top grade came against North Sydney in Round 6 1997 at North Sydney Oval.
When a female Koala first gives birth to young her pouch opening faces neither up nor down, although it is located towards the bottom of the pouch rather than at the top. It faces straight outwards rather than ‘backwards’. It sometimes appears to be ‘backward-facing’ because when the joey is older and leans out of the pouch, this pulls the pouch downwards or ‘backwards’. The pouch has a strong sphincter muscle at the opening to prevent the joey from falling out.
Horizontal scanning is much faster than vertical, so this change greatly reduced the complexity of the driver electronics. At the top of the screen was a single wire charged to very high voltages, which bent the beam through 180 degrees back towards the bottom of the display. The vertical deflection plates were mounted on a plate arranged to lie between the path of the beam as it traveled upwards at the back of the tube and back down at the front.
Martin began his first grade career with Balmain in 1978. Martin joined the club at a time when its fortunes were down and the side struggled towards the bottom of the ladder. Martin played up with Balmain until the end of the 1981 season which ended with the club finishing last and claiming the wooden spoon. In 1982, Martin joined newly admitted Canberra and played in the club's first ever game, a 37–7 loss against South Sydney at Redfern Oval.
The following pre- season saw star forward Reece Morris leave the club after picking up 4 awards for the 2016–17 season. The 2017–18 season was one to forget for Gresley supporters. Gresley featured towards the bottom of the table all season but they retained their place in the Northern Premier League Division One South with 4 games remaining. The following week saw the Chairman, Vice Chairman and manager all step down with most of the first team squad leaving with 3 matches still to play.
Smith spent 4 years at Souths although his time there was not very successful with the club spending most of the time towards the bottom of the ladder. In 1997, Smith joined North Queensland who had joined the rival Super League competition during the Super League war. Smith then left North Queensland mid season and joined the Hunter Mariners. Smith only featured in 2 games for the club and played in their final ever game which was against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in Round 18 1997.
Roman wearing mail, and above him a cornicen, a junior officer who communicated signals with the military horn The sarcophagus contains many precise depictions of military details such as the draco military standard and a detailed mail shirt of the longer length characteristic of the period.Pat Southern and Karen R. Dixon, The Late Roman Army (Yale University Press, 1996), pp. 98, 126. The figures towards the bottom of the scene have fallen to the ground and are mostly the Barbarians who have been slain.
Hilton ended his junior career with his home town Brandon Wheat Kings in 1952 and immediately jumped into the college hockey ranks. He appeared as a freshman for Colorado College (a rarity at the time) and tried to build on CC's runner-up finish the year before. Unfortunately the Tigers halved the win total and finished towards the bottom of the conference standings. The team started to recover in Hilton's second season, a year that saw him being named to the All-WIHL Second Team.
Niort slipped further towards the bottom of the table, although Gonzalez did get on the scoresheet in the 2–0 away win against SO Cassis Carnoux on 16 May 2009. He was left out of the side for the final match of the campaign away at Pacy Vallée-d'Eure needing a win to stay in the National. However, Niort could only manage a 0–0 draw, meaning they would be relegated to the Championnat de France amateur (CFA) for the first time since 1970.
Applebee played on the wing in Penrith's first ever game which was a 15-12 defeat against Canterbury. Applebee was the first Penrith player to be selected for a representative side when he was picked to play for NSW City against NSW Country. Applebee spent 6 seasons at Penrith with the club finishing towards the bottom of the ladder each year and narrowly avoided the wooden spoon on each occasion. In 1973, Applebee moved to far North Queensland and played for Innisfail in the local competition.
The Cenotaph, made entirely from Portland stone, is a pylon on a rectangular plan, with gradually diminishing tiers, culminating in a sculpted tomb chest (the empty tomb) on which is placed a laurel wreath. Its mass decreases with its height, the sides becoming narrower towards the bottom of the coffin than at the top of the base. The base of the cenotaph is in four stages from the top of the steps starting with the plinth, which connects to the base block. The plinth projects from the base block on all four sides.
Despite competing in 34 top division tournaments and over 500 top division bouts, he never once rose high enough to face a yokozuna or an ozeki. In November 2006, he fell to the jūryō division for the first time since 2002, but he won the jūryō tournament title and was promoted straight back. He was demoted once again in May 2007 after suffering a shoulder injury in the previous tournament. He could only manage a 5-10 score in July 2007, pushing him towards the bottom of the jūryō division.
Seedhead The branching stem of Gaillardia pulchella is hairy and upright, growing to 60 cm (2 ft) tall. The leaves are alternate, mostly basal, 4–8 cm long, with edges smooth to coarsely toothed or lobed. It has a hairy stem, simple or branched near the base, where the leaves are essentially located towards the bottom of the plant. The pinwheel, daisy-like inflorescences are 4–6 cm in diameter, vividly colored with red, orange and yellow and is surrounded by 10 to 20 fleurons ligulate three lobes.
The horizontal orientation of the skeletons within the pits suggest that the mud was soft. The neck and tail of one specimen are bent upwards, suggesting that the carcass was pushed down towards the bottom of the pit by trampling of another animal that became trapped at a later time. Specimens typically show flexed hind limbs, indicating that the individuals died in a resting pose within the pits. The typical death poses seen in many other dinosaur skeletons, where the head and tail are drawn above the body, are absent.
The Virginia Tech Hokies men's soccer team represents the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. The Hokies are members of the Atlantic Coast Conference and play their home matches at Sandra D. Thompson Field. Historically, Virginia Tech has been one of the weaker outfits in the ACC, regularly finishing towards the bottom of the conference standings. The program's most successful era came briefly in the early to mid-2000s, where the five years, the Hokies earned three berths into the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship.
Another notable element in BreakQuest is the Gravitator, which can be used to attract any balls towards the bottom of the screen. With sufficient skill, it can be used to guide a ball towards a specific block. This alleviates the difficulty of hitting the last block in a level, a problem present in many breakout games. Unfortunately, since Gravitator attracts toward the screen bottom, not the ship itself, it cannot be used to curve a ball traveling perfectly vertically, such as the initial shot at the beginning of every level.
Maintenance of the underground movable machinery takes place underground, where the facilities and equipment required for water extraction, ventilation, electrification, communication and other infrastructure are also located. In addition to the currently active Elijärvi and Viia ore bodies, underground mining is beginning in the Surmaoja ore body alongside the other two ore bodies from level 500 upwards. Because of the mining method used, the ore extraction process in each ore body always proceeds upwards towards the bottom of the open-pit mine, while filling fully extracted areas with waste rock.
The sky is a dominant feature in many of Jackson's paintings, pushing the horizon line down towards the bottom of the canvas. The empty fields and solitary farm houses impart a sense of vastness and expanse that is enhanced by his use of perspective. Some of Jackson's later works moved indoors, where he exploited walls and doors to impart depth as well as employing perspective. Jackson's paintings recall the paintings of Andrew Wyeth and Edward Hopper in their use of realism to convey feelings of isolation and vastness.
This causes heavy macromolecules to migrate towards the bottom of the tube faster than lighter material. During centrifugation in the absence of sucrose, as particles move farther and farther from the center of rotation, they experience more and more centrifugal force (the further they move, the faster they move). The problem with this is that the useful separation range of within the vessel is restricted to a small observable window. Spinning a sample twice as long doesn't mean the particle of interest will go twice as far, in fact, it will go significantly further.
Fish, as vertebrata, developed as sister of the tunicata. As the tetrapods emerged deep within the fishes group, as sister of the lungfish, characteristics of fish are typically shared by tetrapods, including having vertebrae and a cranium.alt=Drawing of animal with large mouth, long tail, very small dorsal fins, and pectoral fins that attach towards the bottom of the body, resembling lizard legs in scale and development. Early designers fitted curved sheets below the steam collector pipe, but these were not successful as the whole of the steam space could contain foam. In districts where the feed water is unsuitable, blowdown valves ("scum valves"), either continuously working while the regulator is open or operated in conjunction with the boiler feed, are fitted. Valves at water level reduce surface scum; those towards the bottom of the boiler help remove precipitated solids. Other forms of prevention include the chemical treatment of water before it enters the boiler.
The rim of the retina contains a large concentration of cone cells. The retina extends farthest in the superior-nasal 45° quadrant (in the direction from the pupil to the bridge of the nose) with the greatest extent of the visual field in the opposite direction, the inferior temporal 45° quadrant (from the pupil of either eye towards the bottom of the nearest ear). Vision at this extreme part of the visual field is thought to be possibly concerned with threat detection, measuring optical flow, color constancy, or circadian rhythm.
In March 2001, Huddersfield Town were struggling towards the bottom of Division One. On 22 March they paid Sheffield Wednesday £200,000 for the services of Booth, who returned with the intention of scoring the goals that would help him avoid his second successive relegation, and keep the club he had supported as a boy in the division he helped them reach. However, his goals were not sufficient and Huddersfield Town were relegated. In his first full season back with the club, he helped them into the play- offs.
Sheppard made his first grade debut for North Sydney in round 1 1979 against Cronulla-Sutherland at North Sydney Oval which ended in a 7-34 loss. Sheppard made a total of 18 appearances for Norths in his debut year as the club finished last on the table and claimed the wooden spoon after winning only 2 games all year. Sheppard finished as North Sydney's top try scorer in 1979. For the following two seasons, Norths finished towards the bottom of the ladder before finishing third in 1982.

Elliott made 20 appearances for Canterbury-Bankstown in the 2019 NRL season as the club struggled towards the bottom of the table. At one point the club was sitting last on the table and was in danger of getting the wooden spoon. For the third straight season however Canterbury achieved four upset victories in a row over Penrith, the Wests Tigers, South Sydney and Parramatta who were all competing for a place in the finals series and were higher on the table. Canterbury ended the season finishing 12th on the table.
SEDEX deposits form in sedimentary basins under a regional tectonic extensional environment, under the ocean where cold seawater (blue arrows) is mixed with basin water and through sinsedimentary faults flow towards the bottom of the basin, which are heated by the geothermal gradient, and later ascends by convective currents (red arrows). Model for the origin of the Red Sea sulfide deposits. Cold seawater (blue arrows) enters the seafloor via deep-seated fractures. As it descends, it heats up and leaches silicon, metals and other solutes from the seafloor basalts.
The Camarillas fossil site is in light brown clay and limestone rocks with fossil wood remains. The sedimentology is similar to that described in the Galve area, because the Camarillas Formation shows scarcely any lateral variations in facies within the Galve Sub-basin. The Camarillas Formation sandstone is fluviatile, and four groups of paleochannels are distinguished, the first towards the bottom of the succession. These channels become thinner towards the top, and this was interpreted by Díaz and Yébenes (1987) as evidence that there was an alluvial fan with a multichannel system.
A time limit is present, indicated by an hourglass towards the bottom of the screen, which will deplete as the stage progresses — allowing this timer to fully empty will result in the game being over. Both players can collect gold coins by defeating enemies, which can be used in stores found throughout the game to purchase magic spells, weapons and other items. Some enemies can drop bubble- like items that can be exchanged with certain NPCs in return for powerful magic spells that can deal great damage against enemies. Item prices in shops increase as the game progresses.
Southern African pilchard are the most important prey species of copper sharks off South Africa. The copper shark feeds more towards the bottom of the water column than the top, consuming cephalopods, including squid (Loligo spp.), cuttlefishes, and octopus; bony fishes, including gurnards, flatfishes, hakes, catfishes, jacks, Australian salmon, mullets, sea breams, smelts, tunas, sardines, and anchovies; and cartilaginous fishes, including dogfish sharks (Squalus spp.), stingrays, skates, electric rays, and sawfishes. Cephalopods and cartilaginous fishes become relatively more important food for sharks over long. Young sharks also consume scyphozoan jellyfish and crustaceans, including mud shrimps (Callianassa) and penaeid prawns.
They made the semifinals of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT), where they were defeated by eventual champions University of South Carolina. The 2007 Cardinal team was primarily the same team, with added freshmen. Picked to finish towards the bottom of the Big East Conference again, Pitino led them to a second-place finish, 12–4 (tied with the University of Pittsburgh, who had been beaten by the Cardinals during the regular season) in the conference standings and a first round bye in the conference tournament. Pitino implemented a 2–2–1 and 2–3 zone defense midway through the season.
Their first few games included home defeats to Manchester City and Wimbledon but also a surprise away win at Arsenal, with newly signed Zimbabwean Peter Ndlovu scoring his first goal for the club. They were in fourth place after nine games, but a slump followed and by Christmas City were descending towards the bottom of the table. Butcher, whose retirement as a player had led to a contract dispute, was dismissed in January after an FA Cup defeat to Cambridge. Don Howe took over but the club continued to play poorly and were pulled into a relegation fight.
British Centurion tanks were also deployed forward to support the Australians. Directly confronting the Australians on The Hook was the PVA 137th Division, 46th Army which had been in the line since February 1953, under the command of Cheng Dengzhi. alt=A deep trench line runs vertically from the top to the bottom of the photography, while on either side is a bare earth bund. The modern emblem of Eritrea was adopted 24 May 1993, the date of the declaration of independence from Ethiopia. It shows a scene of a dromedary camel in the desert, which is surrounded by an olive wreath. The camel was the beast of burden used during the war of independence from Ethiopia to transport supplies and goods, and was seen as being instrumental to the movement's success by Eritrean nationalists. The name of the country appears on a scroll towards the bottom of the emblem threefold, in Tigrinya, English and Arabic, three widely spoken languages in the country.
The 1958–59 Football League season was Birmingham City Football Club's 56th in the Football League and their 32nd in the First Division. After spending the first half of the season towards the bottom of the division, they finished in 9th position in the 22-team division. They entered the 1958–59 FA Cup at the third round proper and lost to Nottingham Forest in the fifth round after two replays. In the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, Birmingham progressed through two rounds to reach the semi-final, which was not played until the 1959–60 season.
When Edwards retired he first joined Blackpool as assistant trainer- coach before moving to Preston North End first as coach and later first-team trainer. He moved to Plymouth Argyle as chief coach, before becoming manager at Bradford City in November 1971. He took over with City struggling towards the bottom of Division Three but he could not arrest the slide and the club were relegated in bottom place in the 1971–72 season. The club came 16th the following season and 8th in 1973–74 before Edwards resigned in January 1975 to be replaced by Bobby Kennedy.
Enemies will make a divebomb towards the bottom of the screen while shooting projectiles in an attempt to hit the player. The Galaxip can only fire a single shot on-screen, and must wait for it to hit the top before being able to fire another, due to limitations of the hardware. Flagships will make a divebomb with two red escort ships - shooting all three of these will award the player bonus points, with extra points awarded to the destruction of the flagship. Enemy movement will increase as the game progresses alongside the number of shots that the enemies fire.
The phrase "Known unto God" forms the standard epitaph for all unidentified soldiers of the First World War buried in Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) cemeteries. The phrase is engraved towards the bottom of the gravestone. The first line of text on the stone is a description of the deceased, which may be little more than "A soldier of the Great War"; the centre shows a cross, though the deceased's actual religious affiliation may be unknown; and the top an appropriate unit badge where known. The phrase appears on more than 212,000 CWGC gravestones around the world.
If its leaves have wilted from lack of water, it will recover if watered thoroughly and placed in a sunny location. Yellow leaves towards the bottom of the plant are an indication that the plant has been stressed; usually this means that it needs less water, or less or more fertilizer. In sunnier climates such as Southern Europe, the southern states of the U.S., the North Island of New Zealand, and Australia, basil will thrive when planted outside. It also thrives over the summertime in the central and northern United States, but dies out when temperatures reach freezing point.
West was a Parramatta junior but graded with Penrith and played for the clubs lower grade teams before making his first grade debut in 1974. At the end of 1974, West finished as top try scorer for the club and scored a club record 4 tries in a game against Balmain. West became a regular first grader for Penrith over the next 3 seasons but the club continued to struggle on the field and finished towards the bottom of the ladder. In 1978, West joined Parramatta and experienced finals football for the first time as the club finished 4th.
He tries to strike the Pirate, who rolls out of the way and backs towards the bottom of a cliff, while the Knight slowly advances. The Knight attacks, but the Pirate parries with his cutlass and kicks him to the ground. The Knight rises and clumsily swings at the Pirate, who dodges and throws sand in the Knight's face, distracting him long enough to charge at him and throw him to the ground. As the Knight tries to regain his wits, the Pirate quickly crawls to retrieve his fourth flintlock pistol, picks it up, and walks toward the Knight.
Although this area is within the boundary of modern Hedge End, the original hamlet of Hedge End first established itself on Botley Common. This land was granted to the men of Botley as common pasture in 1250. That area is towards the bottom of the hill that rises up to Netley Common and is rich with natural streams and springs. Prior to the Erection of Cottages Act 1588, an Englishman could build his house on common land if he could raise the roof over his head and have a fire in the hearth between sunrise and sunset and claim the dwelling as his home.
Matt Ginn did a stellar job coming into the squad to replace him, ending the year with a 90.9% save percentage, the fourth most among regular goaltenders across the league. In just his second year in the league, British forward Ciaran Long had one of the greatest seasons in the league. Following up his debut season where he posted 35 points, Long almost doubled his production, ending the year with 60 points in as many games. While the team may have been towards the bottom of the standings, Mike Hammond was again Manchester's best player, with a league leading 57 assists alongside 18 goals.
In all cases, the pools overlie acidic igneous rocks, and they are usually mineral-poor and retain some moisture in the sediment when they dry out. Like all Anostraca, T. stagnalis is a filter feeder, removing microplankton, microorganisms and other organic material from suspension with its bristly phyllopodia. Tanymastix stagnalis is sensitive to changes in the intensity of light, and respond to sudden shade by swimming towards the bottom of the pool, or even burying themselves in the sediment. The main threat to them is perturbation of the habitat, in particular the introduction of predators such as the fishes Lepomis gibbosus and Gambusia affinis.
He impressed in his first year with Prescot, winning the Manager's and Supporters Player of the Year Awards, also finishing as top goalscorer with eleven goals as the side struggled towards the bottom of the table. In August 2015, he signed for Football League Two side Accrington Stanley on a short-term contract after impressing on trial during pre-season. He linked up with manager John Coleman, who was his former Primary School teacher at St Aloysius in Liverpool. He made his professional debut in September 2015, featuring as a substitute for Adam Morgan in the 2–1 defeat to Bury in the Football League Trophy.
Robertson began his first grade career for the newly admitted Parramatta side when the club played its first game against Newtown on April 12, 1947 at Cumberland Oval. The game ended in a 34–12 defeat and Parramatta went on to lose the following 7 matches until claiming their first victory against Western Suburbs. Parramatta went on to win only 2 further matches that year as the club finished last on the table and claimed its first wooden spoon. Robertson went on to play a further 4 seasons with the club as they struggled towards the bottom of the ladder due to a lack of resources and playing talent.
Culhane played at Western Michigan during one of the most successful periods in program history. After graduating in 1987 he embarked on a short professional career, before retiring in 1992. In 1993 he returned to his alma mater and served as an assistant under Bill Wilkinson until the later was fired in the midst of an investigation into the program after two players were arrested at a team party. For a brief time Culhane was able to right the ship in Kalamazoo but once Wilkinson's last recruiting class left the team sunk towards the bottom of the conference and never had a winning record under Culhane's stewardship again.
The coins are all bronze and silver-washed bronze nummi, and date to the period between AD 313 and 335, corresponding to the latter part of the reign of Constantine I and the period of joint reign of his three sons, Constantine II, Constantius II and Constans. There were also a very few radiates dating to AD 260–293. In addition to the coins, an iron nail and a piece of cloth were found towards the bottom of the pot. It is very unusual for organic material such as cloth to survive, but the copper from coins prevented the decay of the cloth in this case.
Uniflow scavenging is a design in which the fresh intake charge and exhaust gases flow in the same direction. This requires that the intake and exhaust ports be at opposite ends of the cylinder. As used by some two-stroke engines, the fresh charge enters through piston-controlled ports near the bottom of the cylinder and flows upward, pushing the exhaust gases out through poppet valves located in the cylinder head. Other uniflow engines - such as the Ricardo Dolphin marine engine - use a downward flow direction, with the fresh air/fuel mixture entering at the top of the cylinder and the exhaust gases exiting at towards the bottom of the cylinder.
The dates for appointment of these should be taken only as approximate, although the years should be correct. In 1920, as was becoming the norm across all football clubs, Walsall broke from this tradition and appointed player Albert Groves as the club's first official manager. The club's longest serving and, arguably, most-successful manager is Bill Moore who took charge of 470 matches over two spells from 1957–63 and 1969–72. During his first spell he took the team from languishing towards the bottom of the Third Division South to their highest ever post-war league position of 14th in the Second Division in 1962.
With a perspective control lens, however, the lens may be shifted upwards in relation to the image area, placing more of the subject within the frame (c). The ground level, the camera's point of perspective, is shifted towards the bottom of the frame. Another use of shifting is in taking pictures of a mirror. By moving the camera off to one side of the mirror, and shifting the lens in the opposite direction, an image of the mirror can be captured without the reflection of the camera or photographer. Shifting can similarly be used to photograph “around” an object, such as a building support in a gallery, without producing an obviously oblique view.
Mt. Judah is named after Theodore Judah who was the railroad design engineer for the Central Pacific Railroad, who surveyed and planned the route that the rail road tracks follow through Donner Pass to Nevada. Mt. Disney is named in honor of Walt Disney, an initial stockholder when Sugar Bowl was being constructed. Bill Klein’s Schuss is a moderately steep blue square towards the bottom of Mt. Lincoln, named in honor of Bill Klein, once the ski school director and ski shop owner at Sugar Bowl ski resort. He went on the initial trip with Schroll in 1937 to look at the land and mountain peaks that would one day become the Sugar Bowl ski resort.
Before the start of the 2019 NRL season, many predicted that Manly would finish outside the top 8 and struggle towards the bottom of the table. Throughout the season though, Manly surprised many critics by spending nearly the entire regular season in the top 8 which included the club defeating Melbourne at AAMI Park 11-10 in golden point extra-time and also defeating other premiership contenders Canberra twice throughout the year. Manly-Warringah eventually qualified for the finals with a 6th place finish. Manly would go on to reach the second week of the finals series but were defeated by South Sydney, 34-26 in the elimination final at ANZ Stadium.
A solution used on most tokamak designs is the limiter, a small ring of light metal that projected into the chamber so that the plasma would hit it before hitting the walls. This eroded the limiter and caused its atoms to mix with the fuel, but these lighter materials cause less disruption than the wall materials. When reactors moved to the D-shaped plasmas it was quickly noted that the escaping particle flux of the plasma could be shaped as well. Over time, this led to the idea of using the fields to create an internal divertor that flings the heavier elements out of fuel, typically towards the bottom of the reactor.
A material towards the bottom of the series, when touched to a material near the top of the series, will attain a more negative charge. The further away two materials are from each other on the series, the greater the charge transferred. Beside the choice of the materials in the triboelectric series, the morphologies of the surfaces can be modified by physical techniques with the creation of pyramids-, square- or hemisphere-based micro- or nano- patterns, which are effective for enhancing the contact area and possibly the triboelectrification. However, the created bumpy structure on the surface may increase the friction force, which may possibly reduce the energy conversion efficiency of the TENG.
In the 2009–10 pre-season, the club celebrated its 125th anniversary with a new badge and the release of a book chronicling the history of the club, entitled Proud To Be The Dabbers. History of Nantwich Town F.C. 1884–2009, The main season was disappointing, with the team languishing towards the bottom of the table, and early exits from the FA Cup, the FA Trophy and Cheshire Senior Cup. The poor form resulted in head coach Peter Hall losing his job in late March; Kevin Street and Darren Tinson took over on a caretaker basis. They delivered an immediate improvement, with five wins and a draw in the next six games.
When reproducing form letters from punched tape, the considerable speed and loud sound of the device made watching it a somewhat frightening experience. Towards the bottom of the unit there is a large rubber roller ("power roll") that rotates continuously at a few hundred rpm. It provides power for typing as well as power-operated backspace, type basket shift, and power for engaging (and probably disengaging) the carriage return clutch. Referring to the photo of the cam assembly (often simply called a cam; it was not meant to be disassembled), the holes in the side plates at the lower left are for the assembly's pivot rod, which is fixed to the frame.
Bill Shankly became manager of Huddersfield after Andy Beattie resigned in November 1956, so 1957–58 was his first full season in charge of the team. After the team's glory years in the 1920s, winning the 1922 FA Cup Final and leading the First Division for three consecutive years in 1923–24, 1924–25, and 1925–26, Huddersfield had been spent many years towards the bottom of Football League First Division. They were finally relegated at the end of 1951–52, but gained immediate re- promotion the following season. They came third in the First Division in 1953–54, only to be relegated again in 1955–56, and remained in the Second Division at the end of 1956–57.
Between 2003–04 and 2016–17, the Top League Challenge Series consisted of two divisions – the Challenge 1 and the Challenge 2 series. The three teams that won the regional leagues progressed to the Challenge 1 series, while the runners-up progressed to the Challenge 2 series. In both divisions, teams played in a round-robin format to determine the final standings. While the exact format varied from season to season, a number of top-placed teams in the Challenge 1 won automatic promotion to the next season's Top League each season, while the next-best teams qualified for promotion play-off matches against teams that finished towards the bottom of that season's Top League.
The current state of female labour participation details how a higher percentage of the male population is currently employed despite the female population having a higher total employed population and a very similar unemployment rate. This gap continues with wages in Malawi as the state continues to score towards the bottom of the list when compared to states across the world. Along with their poor international ranking, the state scores poorly when compared to other sub- Saharan countries as the highest ranked sub-Saharan state, Rwanda, scored a 0.791 on a 0–1 scale while Malawi scored 0.664. The indices used to gauge political status of women include political participation amongst women, access to political institutions, and female seats in the national parliament.
Men's 1st VIII Summer Eights 2007 coxed by Acer Nethercott In Summer Eights, the Men's 1st VIII has climbed steadily over the past decade from the middle of Division II. As of 2018, the 1st Eight is eighth on the river. The Women's 1st Eight meanwhile, achieved Blades in 2010, 2011 and 2015 and are now fifth in Division 1. The club is also highly successful lower-down the divisions, qualifying more boats for Eights 2012 and 2014 than any other college. The club's recent record in Torpids is less successful, with the Men's 1st Torpid currently towards the bottom of Division II. The Women's 1st Torpid has been stronger recently, achieving Blades in 2010 and 2011, and moving up four places in 2015.
Gameplay involves shooting down enemies as they fly into formation from the top and sides of the screen. Enemies will dive-bomb towards the bottom of the screen in an attempt to hit the player. Occasionally, a "Bakuto" alien will appear at the top of the screen while carrying a twin-shot power item, which can be collected by shooting it down. Some enemies will drop special power-up items after being shot, which will give the player one of several abilities when collected — these include a one- hit shield, slow-moving bombs, a black hole that brushes all enemies in its area off the screen, and a jack-in-the-box that stuns all on-screen enemies for a brief period of time.
The Soldier Blade begins the game with a standard "Vulcan" projectile, which can destroy most enemies with a single shot, and can collect other weapons by acquiring different colored power capsules; these include a wave gun and a deadly laser that wipes out anything in its path. Collecting a power capsule will also cause a pod- like craft to join the player, which provides additional firepower. The Soldier Blade can be destroyed by colliding with either an enemy or a projectile; by collecting up to three power capsules, the player can take up to three hits. The player can also store three power-up items in a storage box placed towards the bottom of the screen, which can be deployed at any time.
The final design is thought to have been inspired by Torre del Mangia which is of similar design but for the clock being placed towards the bottom of the tower. David Lodge's novel Changing Places tells the story of exchange of professors between the universities of Rummidge and Euphoric State, Plotinus (thinly disguised fictional versions of Birmingham and Berkeley), which in the book both have replicas of the Leaning Tower of Pisa on campus. It is also said to have been inspiration for the Eye of Sauron in J.R.R Tolkien's Lord of the Rings due to the glowing clock face. However, 'The Two Towers themselves are widely accepted as having been inspired by Edgbaston Waterworks and Perrott's Folly which would both have been visible from Tolkien's home.
The Buick Opel, Ford Cortina, Mercury Capri, Ford Festiva, and Dodge Colt are examples. Volkswagen Golf 1976 Mk1 (Australia) Technologies that developed during the post-war era, such as disc brakes, overhead-cam engines and radial tires, had become cheap enough to be used in economy cars at this time (radials began to be adopted in the 1950s and 1960s, and front disc brakes in the 1960s, towards the bottom of the market in Europe). This led to cars such as the 1974 Mk 1 Volkswagen Golf designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, Fiat 128 and 1972 Honda Civic. Some previously exotic technology, electronic fuel injection, became affordable, which allowed the production of high-performance hot hatch sport compacts like the 1976 Volkswagen Golf GTI.
The ship's original waterline armor belt thickness of was only retained where it had already been installed abreast the magazines, and reduced to elsewhere. Below it was a strake of armor that tapered in thickness from to 75 millimeters at its bottom edge. The flat portion of the armor deck over the machinery and magazine spaces, ranging from , was retained, and the sloped portion that angled downward towards the bottom of the main armor belt was thick. Large external anti-torpedo bulges below the waterline provided the main defense against torpedoes, backed up by an armored bulkhead extending down from the belt armor; the bulkhead was intended to prevent splinters from piercing the main hull and, though not watertight, was backed by a second one which was.
1916 map of Civic Center. Fulton Street extends east (towards the bottom of this map) from San Francisco City Hall and Civic Center Plaza, between the main library building and planned opera house. After the 1906 San Francisco earthquake destroyed the old City Hall, the city rebuilt it and other administrative buildings as Civic Center; the key access route to the new Civic Center from Market was along the east–west Fulton Street, which lay parallel to and between McAllister and Grove. East of Van Ness, the rebuilt City Hall (1915) and Civic Center Plaza (1911) take up two city blocks each between McAllister and Grove, so the two-block eastern portion of Fulton began at the intersection with Larkin and terminated at Market.
GD 362 is a white dwarf approximately 150 light years from Earth. In 2004, spectroscopic observations showed that it had a relatively high concentration of metals in its atmosphere. Since the high gravitational field of white dwarfs quickly forces heavy elements to settle towards the bottom of the atmosphere, this meant that the atmosphere was being polluted by an external source. In 2005, infrared photometric observations suggested that it was surrounded by a ring of dust with size comparable to the rings of Saturn, providing an explanation for this pollution.A Dusty Disk around GD 362, a White Dwarf with a Uniquely High Photospheric Metal Abundance, E.E. Becklin, J. Farihi, M. Jura, Inseok Song, A. J. Weinberger, and B. Zuckerman, The Astrophysical Journal 632, #2 (October 2005), pp. L119–L122.
At the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Fournel qualified for her second Argentine squad in rifle shooting, by having registered a minimum Olympic qualifying standard of 388 and finishing third from the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In the 10 m air rifle, Fournel could not improve her previous Olympic feat in the qualifying stage, as she logged a dismal score of 390 out of 400 that ended her up in a twenty-eighth place tie with three other shooters. In her second event, 50 m rifle 3 positions, Fournel fired 188 in the prone and 177 each in both standing and kneeling to accumulate an overall record of 542 points, leaving her towards the bottom of the leaderboard in the penultimate position out of forty-two prospective shooters.
The Bears won their first game in the VFL against North Melbourne at the Melbourne Cricket Ground 19.23 (137) to 15.14 (104) in front of 14,096 fans, and also won its second game, but ultimately fell towards the bottom of the ladder. The club avoided the wooden spoon by beating in the final round, and finished with six wins. The club attracted 98,616 fans to the eleven matches at Carrara Oval, an average of 8,965 per game, which was the lowest in the competition behind Fitzroy's 11,498. By contrast, the other new 1987 team the West Coast Eagles, with Australian rules football long established as the major football code in Perth, attracted 291,317 to their home games at Subiaco Oval and the WACA at an average of 26,483 per game.
East Tennessee State's varsity soccer program began in 2008, when the Buccaneers began play in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Since the Bucs had already been an established Division I school in other sports and a full-member of the Atlantic Sun Conference, the new program was immediately eligible for postseason play, namely the Atlantic Sun Men's Soccer Tournament and the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. During the 2008 campaign, the Buccaneers fared well in non-conference play, achieving a record of 5–3 record; however, the Bucs finished towards the bottom of the A-Sun table, with a 1–7–1 conference record. It was not until 2010 that ETSU achieved a winning record, where the Bucs finished the season 15–6 overall and with a 7–2 conference record.
Backstrom's entry coincided with four WCHA members bolting for the CCHA leaving the conference with only 6 schools. The co-championship format was abolished and though Denver provided some glimpse of hope in Backstrom's first season, the team slipped towards the bottom of the division for three seasons. By the end of the 1984–85 season Denver had lost eight consecutive playoff games and was in danger of becoming an afterthought in the WCHA. The 1985-1986 team provided a surprising start the following campaign, winning seven of their first eight-game en route to the WCHA regular season and playoff championships over Michigan Tech, Minnesota-Duluth and Minnesota, followed by a home NCAA 7-6 total goal series win over Cornell to make it to the Frozen Four.
The Twins eventually sank towards the bottom of the standings, finishing last in 1990. In 1991, the Twins returned to the playoffs by beating the Blue Jays in the ALCS and winning what many call the greatest World Series played over the Atlanta Braves. The 1987 World Series featured at least two players who went on to win Manager of the Year awards. The Twins' Don Baylor won it in 1995 for his work with the Colorado Rockies while the Cardinals' Tony Peña won it in 2003 for his work with the Kansas City Royals. The success of the 1987 Twins inspired Brandon Walsh (Jason Priestley) in Beverly Hills 90210 to explain why the Twins were the ultimate definition of a team, thus enabling him to win the Dreyer Scholarship.
Cup success was not restricted to the first team: the youth team reached the final of the FA Youth Cup in 1967, losing to what was described as an experienced Sunderland team. Fourth place in the division in 1967–68 and seventh in 1968–69 preceded a slump towards the bottom of the table, and Coombs decided it was time for a change. He persuaded Cullis back into retirement in March 1970, and approached top-class managers, including Brian Clough and Peter Taylor and Don Revie, without success, before appointing Freddie Goodwin of Brighton & Hove Albion manager.Matthews. Encyclopedia. pp. 147–48. He strengthened the spine of the team, bought in Carlisle United forward Bob Hatton, a club record signing at £82,500, to play up front alongside the home-grown Bob Latchford and introduced the 16-year-old Trevor Francis to first-team football.
Given the lack of data available in southern Iberia in relation to the Bronze Age, the discoveries unearthed at Bray's Cave are of great importance. Previous findings, conducted by George Palao at Judge's Cave, Pete's Paradise Cave and Devil's Fall Cave, excavations carried out by non-specialists, suggested that some of the caves of Gibraltar had had a funerary use. A large circular-shaped rimstone with an approximate diameter of is located towards the bottom of the cave; a significant accumulation of angular interlocked limestone clasts were documented here, constituting the closure of a burial of great archaeological interest where several secondary burials had been carried out adapting the rimstone as if it were a cist or niche. The burials are scattered throughout the cave, demonstrating burial areas and areas resulting from the removal of these to be reused.
"Take Care" was released to US mainstream and rhythmic radios on February 21, 2012, serving as the official fifth single from Drake's second studio album of the same name. "Take Care" made its chart debut on the Australian Singles Chart on December 4, 2011, at number 45, following the album's release. The song managed to remain towards the bottom of the chart until the single's release, when it rose into the top ten to number nine on February 19, 2012. It has spent 24 total weeks on the chart since its first appearance, and has been certified three-times platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), for sales of over 210,000 copies. In New Zealand, "Take Care" debuted on the New Zealand Singles Chart on April 30, 2012, at number 21, following the single's release.
Initially, the young team had struggles in the Colonial Athletic Association, finishing towards the bottom of the conference standings in its first two years. In 1997, the team vastly improved, earning a third-place regular season record and earning the CAA championship that year. In the 1997 Championship, the Rams defeated American University 9–8 in a penalty kick shootout after drawing 2–2 in regulation time. Since then the team won the CAA championship in 2002 and 2003, as well as winning the regular-season title those same years as well as winning the honor in 2004. The team's most successful run in the College Cup, the men's NCAA Division I Soccer Tournament, came in 2004, where the Rams entered the tournament as ranked 16th in the nation, earning a bye to the second round proper.
Restricted by a neck injury, he had two more losing scores in September and November 2007, pushing him towards the bottom of the second division. In January 2008 he won only two bouts in the first 11 days, and although he won his last four matches to finish on a 6–9 score, it was not enough to prevent demotion to the third makushita division. Satoyama produced a 2–5 score in March 2008, and 3–4 in May, meaning he had chalked up seven consecutive losing scores. In July 2008 he returned to form and won the makushita championship with a 6–1 score after an eight-way playoff, defeating his 232 kg stablemate Yamamotoyama Ryūta in the final. It was his first kachi-koshi or winning score since his jūryō division championship in March 2007.
For the beginning of the 2019-20 season, Saints brought in a number of new players, including Helen Evans from Aberystwyth Town F.C. and Jess Jennings from Wolverhampton Wanderers W.F.C., the club also entered a Development team into the FAWNL Reserve League, where the team were entered into the Reserve Midland Division 2 and managed by former Burton Albion LFC coach, Dave Warner. Saints started the season with a 5-1 loss to Birmingham & West Midlands LFC, which saw Saints fall towards the bottom of the league, however a quick upturn in form saw Saints climb to 2nd in the league after a number of wins over league rivals. Saints reached the 1st round proper of the Women's FA Cup, beating Long Eaton United F.C. and Peterborough United F.C. before being knocked out at home to Chorley F.C..
High-profile player departures and political infighting during the 2007-2008 off-season had led to predictions that the Bulldogs would have a difficult 2008, predictions which were borne out across the season. The club languished towards the bottom of the ladder throughout the year, suffering heavy losses against many teams, the most notable being a 46-0 loss to the Melbourne Storm, a 58-18 loss to the Canberra Raiders and a 56-4 loss against the Wests Tigers, breaking records. The key problems for the Bulldogs were poor defence and continuing injury problems, with usually 10 first grade players injured at a time, including season ending injuries to key players Luke Patten and Willie Tonga. After the club's 58-18 thrashing at the hands of the Raiders in Round 15, coach Steve Folkes admitted that the Bulldogs were "at the bottom of a fairly big hole with no way out of it in the short term".
In the following tournament in November he tore ligaments in his right ankle, forcing him to withdraw from the tournament, and he never managed to return to komusubi. A series of mixed results in 2007 left him a middle-ranked maegashira for most of the year. In 2008 he produced three consecutive kachi- koshi or winning scores, which returned him to the upper maegashira ranks for July, but he could win only three bouts there. In September 2008 an 11-4 record at maegashira 10 sent him up to maegashira 1, but he had six losing scores in the next six tournaments, and after the September 2009 basho he was demoted to jūryō for the first time in nearly five years. He missed four days of the November 2009 tournament, producing only a 7-5-3 record, and a 4-11 score in January 2010 sent him towards the bottom of the jūryō division.
A view across Lake Atitlán from Panajachel to Volcán San Pedro Panorama view of the lake as seen from the top of Volcán San Pedro, or from the top towards the bottom of the satellite photo on the top of this page The first volcanic activity in the region occurred about 11 million years ago, and since then the region has seen four separate episodes of volcanic growth and caldera collapse, the most recent of which began about 1.8 million years ago and culminated in the formation of the present caldera. The lake now fills a large part of the caldera, reaching depths of up to . The caldera-forming eruption is known as Los Chocoyos eruption and ejected up to of tephra. The enormous eruption dispersed ash over an area of some : it has been detected from Florida to Ecuador, and can be used as a stratigraphic marker in both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans (known as Y-8 ash in marine deposits).
The Budhagupta pillar at Eran, raised in honour of Janardana, another name of Vishnu. On top if a double statue of Garuda, holding a serpent in his hands, with a chakra wheel in the back. The Damodarpur copper-plate inscription informs us that Pundravardhana bhukti (the present-day North Bengal) was ruled by his two viceroys (Uparika Mahararaja) Brahmadatta and Jayadatta. The Eran stone pillar inscription of two brothers, Matrivishnu and Dhanyavishnu mentions Budhagupta as their emperor (Bhupati), under whom Maharaja Surashmichandra was governing the land between the Yamuna and the Narmada The Budhagupta inscription on the Eran column is on the west face towards the bottom of the lower and square part of a large monolithic red-sandstone column situated near the ruined group of temples at Eran. The inscription refers to the reign of Budhagupta over the area "between the rivers Kâlindi and Narmadâ", and it is dated 484–485 CE. The object of it is to record the erection of the column, which is called 'dhvajastambha' or flag staff of the god Vishnu.
Whilst the club never reached the upper tiers of the football pyramid, the Shay has been the scene of some historic matches, not least its very first Football League game on 3 September 1921. It is history now, of course, that Town defeated Darlington 5–0 in front of a crowd of over 10,000, although as Town slipped towards the bottom of the table during the course of the season, attendances fell also. The record attendance for the Shay was 36,885 on 14 February 1953 in the 5th round of the FA Cup against Tottenham Hotspur. It is fair to say with confidence that the 36,885 figure that watched the Spurs game will never be bettered. Though the Shay could once hold 40,000, safety measures dictate that it never will again. In fact, the capacity put on the Shay has reduced dramatically since the early 1970s: in 1970 it was 38,000, 1972 it was 25,000, 1977 it was 23,000, 1979 it was 16,500. The capacity stood at 16,500 until 1985 at which time the Popplewell Report into ground safety was released following the Valley Parade disaster in May of that year. All standing areas at the Shay were closed, and for a time, while it remained seating only, the new capacity was set at 1,777.
