The vertical line continues outside of the circle to create one hair point, with two more added towards the back of her head.
In September 1999, Six Flags St. Louis announced that they would be adding a new wooden roller coaster for the 2000 season. Built by Custom Coasters International, it would be located towards the back of the park in the Britannia section. The park presented the city of Eureka with the new coaster blueprints. On February 3, 2000, the park revealed more details about their upcoming attraction.
Although the first two cervical vertebrae are unknown, several others from along the neck have been preserved. The neural spines are robust and the zygapophyses are well developed, but the articulation of the neural arch between vertebrae is not present. The processes that articulate with cervical ribs become stronger towards the back of the neck. Multiple dorsal vertebrae are known from along the back.
Before this, the 6th graders had to use the trailers in the bus lanes to go to their classes. Community C is located towards the back of the school. Community D has the cafeteria, connections classes, and the gym, as well the doors to the car rider lane, which is centered around the back parking lot. Community D is at the very back of the school.
Revetments are slanted or upright blockades, built parallel to the coast, usually towards the back of the beach to protect the area beyond. The most basic revetments consist of timber slants with a possible rock infill. Waves break against the revetments, which dissipate and absorb the energy. The shoreline is protected by the beach material held behind the barriers, as the revetments trap some of the material.
On July 5, 1991, Busch Gardens Williamsburg announced that a new steel roller coaster would be added to the park in 1992. Built by Arrow Dynamics, the ride would be located towards the back of the park next to Big Bad Wolf. It would be later named Drachen Fire. That year, the Anheuser-Busch Entertainment Corporation announced a myriad of upcoming rides for their various amusement parks.
The front-end of the 2uettottanta features a central line. To the sides of the Alfa Romeo emblem, there are two air inlets, in a triangular shape. The headlights, based on the last LED technologies, are set under the line that characterizes the entire car. A carbon band in the lower part of the front end acts as a splitter and conveys the air towards the back.
Lee' Crossing is a large subdivision with 409 single family homes. It is a swim & tennis community with a homeowners' association. It is within walking distance to A.L. Burruss Elementary School and Marietta High School. The subdivision is within a short drive of Laurel Park and Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, as several properties towards the back of the subdivision border parts of the national park.
Kevin Padian (2008). The Early Jurassic Pterosaur Dorygnathus Banthensis(Theodori, 1830). Special Papers in Palaeontology No. 80, The Palaeontological Association, London In the lower jaws the first three pairs of teeth are very long, sharp and pointing outwards and forwards. They contrast with a row of eight or more upright-standing much smaller teeth that gradually diminish in size towards the back of the lower jaw.
On August 30, 2010, around 8:30 a.m., The Student Resource Officer assigned to the school, Carolyn Gudger, first noticed a suspicious person "driving towards the back of the building",First-hand interview from Carolyn GudgerInterview and asked his purpose for being there. She pulled alongside the car to ask if the man "was lost" and "what he needed". The driver claimed that "his brother worked here".
The deals also include larger pieces of the show, signing bonuses, production deals and advances towards the back-end. The following day, Helberg and Nayyar renegotiated their contracts, giving them a per-episode pay in the "mid six- figure range", up from around $100,000 per episode they each received in years prior. The first table read for season 8 took place on August 6.
Most barnacles are hermaphroditic, although a few species are gonochoric or androdioecious. The ovaries are located in the base or stalk, and may extend into the mantle, while the testes are towards the back of the head, often extending into the thorax. Typically, recently moulted hermaphroditic individuals are receptive as females. Self-fertilization, although theoretically possible, has been experimentally shown to be rare in barnacles.
Between the nostrils is a curtain of skin with a smooth to gently wavy posterior margin. The small mouth forms a transverse line; the edge of the lower jaw is scalloped, and when closed usually conceals the teeth. There are 14–16 tooth rows in each jaw. The small and pointed teeth become progressively longer and sharper towards the back, and are arranged in a quincunx pattern.
The Parang Nabur is a sword with a curve blade broadening towards the point, with its widest section at the curvature. The edge is convex, the back is concave. It has a double edge for about 2/3 to 3/8 of the blade from its front tip. The edge may bend towards the back or the back may bend towards the edge at the point.
Hartson headed the ball towards the back post and Alan Thompson scored with a diving header. Two minutes later Celtic extended their lead. Agathe was again the provider, racing 50 yards down the right wing and cutting the ball into the penalty box to Chris Sutton who scored from close range with a powerful shot. That left Stuttgart requiring to score five goals to salvage the tie.
Prior to bus lanes being put in, all buses followed the east to west flow of traffic along this section of South Street. At the front of the bus station was an area for bus parking. Towards the back were stands for Island Explorer and Route Rouge routes. There were other stands in the middle for Newport Town services such as routes 38 and 39.
The first pair of teeth was located in the flat tip of the snout, pointing forwards. The alveoli at first increase in size from the tip towards the back, the third pair being the largest with a diameter of either or . The fourth pair is much smaller; to the back gradually the tooth sockets again increase in size. Thus a "prey grab" is formed.
The atlas differed from that of other ornithomimids in that the front surface of its intercentrum was slanted downwards towards the back, instead of being concave and facing upwards to support the occipital condyle. The neck appears to have been proportionally longer in relation to the trunk than in other ornithomimids. The neck was divided into two distinct sections: the cervical vertebrae at the front had centra which were nearly triangular in side view and tapered towards the back, as well as low neural arches and short, broad zygapophyses (the processes that articulated between the vertebrae); the cervical vertebrae at the back had spool-like centra which became gradually higher, and long, thin zygapophyses. The pneumatic foramina here were small and oval, and the neural spines projecting outwards from the centra formed long, low and sharp ridges, except for in the hindmost cervical vertebrae.
From the plantations inland, drainage canal (handils) have been dug towards the back swamps in the centre of the island. Along the handils , lowland rice fields (sawah’s) dominate the landscape. Here, the water management is a difficult task and has been subject of a scientific study.International Institute of Land Reclamation and Improvement (ILRI), Wageningen, The Netherlands, 1990, Research Project on Acid Sulphate (Sulfate) Soils in the Humid Tropics.
The striated zone of the cuttlebone is concave, with the last loculus being strongly convex and thick in the front third. The sulcus is deep and wide and extends along the striated zone only. Striae (furrows) on the anterior surface form an inverted V-shape. The limbs of the inner cone are very short, narrow, and uniform in width, with the U-shape thickened slightly towards the back.
Coming off a resurgent second half of the previous year, the team expected to be fighting for both the drivers and constructors titles. Instead, the car proved to be disappointing. Fernando Alonso scored all of the team's 26 points. In the hands of either of Alonso's team mates, the car was often towards the back of the field with Nelson Piquet, Jr. and Romain Grosjean often failing to reach Q2.
Woodside, inspired by the War of 1812, intended to provide an allegorical message in response to the defeat of Britain. It depicts a sailor holding a flag being crowned with a laurel wreath by Liberty, with the words “We Owe Allegiance to No Crown” below. The ship, towards the back of the painting, depicts the small but effective American Navy that greatly contributed to the American defeat of Britain.
The tip of the lower jaw would have been strengthened by being upturned at an angle of about 50°. Like the premaxilla, the outer surface of the dentary was textured, bearing a dense network of zigzagging canals for blood vessels (i.e., vascular canals). On the interior surface, immediately adjacent to the tooth row, there was a row of pits, which were enclosed by a groove towards the back of the jaw.
Although most of the skull is poorly preserved, several elements are identifiable. The premaxilla is short and tall, while the rear part of the frontal is domed. The left dentary preserves fourteen teeth, a characteristically high number compared to other enantiornitheans. Although none of the teeth preserve complete crowns, there is a visible trend of the teeth becoming more buccolingually (side-to-side) flattened towards the back of the jaw.
Bayern went back on the attack, but Adolfo Valencia was repelled by the Norwich defence. Sutch had another chance for Norwich, getting away from Matthäus, and shooting at the near post, where it was pushed away for a corner by Aumann. After 30 minutes, Crook knocked a free kick from the half way line towards the back post. Sutton and Oliver Kreuzer jumped for the ball, which floated over their heads.
Flight Engineer Judd and 49 passengers received minor injuries. 18 passengers received no injuries. Many of the passengers reported that impact forces were not severe and mostly concentrated towards the back of the aircraft. Captain Davis was pinned between his seat and the instrument panel and had to be extricated by rescue crews (due to this, he was the last person to exit the aircraft, approximately 45 minutes after the crash).
194 —the large squared block in the foreground was part of this; and an older-style blast furnace, similar in design to a blowing house, but with a unique flue running up the hillside behind to a short stack.Cook et al. 1974, pp.193–4, 196–7 The two large standing and three fallen granite blocks towards the back of the building are the remains of this furnace.
The incisors and canines formed a row of conical stabbing teeth, while the premolars and molars were shaped like serrated blades. The teeth were deeply rooted, and the cheek teeth had two roots, perhaps adaptations for handling large prey. The teeth decreased in size towards the back of the mouth. It had sizable temporalis muscles, indicated by their location on the top of the head, meaning it had a strong bite.
Maesglas has benefited hugely since the beginning of the scheme. Maesglas has many recreational areas nearby such as Tredegar Park as well as football field in the grounds of the Maesglas Primary school. It is surrounded by history as Maesglas is close to Tredegar House of the famous Morgan family. Maesglas is said to have an ancient burial ground towards the back of the estate next to the children's playground.
A retroverted uterus (tilted uterus, tipped uterus) is a uterus that is oriented posteriorly, towards the back of the body. This is in contrast to the slightly "anteverted" uterus that most women have, which is oriented forward toward the bladder, with the anterior part slightly concave. Between 1 in 3 and 1 in 5 women (depending on the source) have a retroverted uterus, which is oriented backwards towards the spine.
The body of twostripe gobies is elongated and laterally compressed. They are commonly in length, with a maximum length of . The body is predominantly white to pale gray in color, with the dorsal surface a darker brownish gray. It has two prominent orange, dark red, reddish-brown, or black lines running longitudinally on the sides of its body, darkest at the anterior end and growing lighter towards the back.
The caudal fin is rounded and the pelvic fin does not extend as far as the anus. There are 61-64 scales in the lateral line. The head and body have a pale brownish grey background colour, with the flanks and back covered with small red, orange or gold spots. There are 6 indistinct diagonal dark bars which can normally be seen on at least towards the back.
The Sakara is also made and used by the Hausa people of northern Nigeria. The Sakara is a shallow drum with a circular body made with baked clay. The clay shell is perhaps ten inches in diameter and one and a half inches deep, sloping inward funnel-wise towards the back. The skin is secured to the shell with twine and tuned using pegs spaced around its body.
Being less common than lumbar hyperlordosis, hypolordosis (also known as flatback) occurs when there's less of a curve in the lower back or a flattening of the lower back. This occurs because the vertebrae are oriented toward the back of the spine, stretching the disc towards the back and compressing it in the front. This can cause a narrowing of the opening for the nerves, potentially pinching them.
Blinding smoke made movement difficult. Survivors remembered the burning moss falling from the ceiling and forming a barrier between the dance floor and the exit, with the moss igniting clothing and hair of victims and survivors. The front door was the only exit, and the doors swung inward. Escape from the main entrance was made almost impossible as flames blocked the entrance, pushing the crowd towards the back of the club.
Great Chase is a steel roller coaster at Six Flags America in Prince George's County, Maryland. This is a junior coaster that replaced the previous junior coaster, the Cannonball that ran from 1993 to 1998. The coaster is placed towards the back of the Looney Tunes Movie Town section of the park, and the ride is themed to a chase in the desert between the Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner.
Although poorly preserved, the cervical ribs of Jesairosaurus specimens were long and thin for all cervicals except the axis, in which they were short. At least 15 dorsal (back) vertebrae were present. The neural spines of these vertebrae were also low and narrow, although they would increase in height towards the back of the body. In some specimens the middle dorsals have additional forward or backward spurs at the base of their neural spines.
The m1 molar was almost symmetrical, and its cusp formula was 4:4, the size of the cusps decreasing towards the back. The m2 had a cusp formula of 2−3:2, most specimens being 2:2. The cusps on the inner side were wider than those on the outer side, the inner row of cusps was shorter than the outer one, and the hind margin of the tooth was arranged obliquely.
Most megabats roost with the head tucked towards the belly, whereas most microbats roost with the neck curled towards the back. This difference is reflected in the structure of the cervical or neck vertebrae in the two groups, which are clearly distinct. Tendons allow bats to lock their feet closed when hanging from a roost. Muscular power is needed to let go, but not to grasp a perch or when holding on.
In addition, the mouth of N. inermis × N. talangensis is raised towards the back as opposed to being horizontal. In 2001, Kurata described this hybrid as a new species, N. pyriformis. Clarke rejected this interpretation in his monograph Nepenthes of Sumatra and Peninsular Malaysia, published the same year. Clarke found that the type specimen of N. pyriformis, Kurata & Mikil 4230 NDC, matches the appearance of N. inermis × N. talangensis "in most respects".
The Call was very much a New York City newspaper, featuring news of the city and the world at the front of the paper, editorial comment and news of party affairs towards the back. The paper featured a "Women's Department" overseen by the high-profile activist wife of a "millionaire Socialist," Rose Pastor Stokes.Fiegenbaum, Ten Years of Service, pg. 15. Editorial cartoons were given a prominent place, with material contributed by Ryan Walker and others.
The vial would be labeled with a Vial of Life decal, and the completed medical information form would be placed inside. These plastic vials tend to get lost in the refrigerator, pushed towards the back of it over time and can prove hard to find for emergency crews. Nowadays, most programs (including the Vial of Life Project AKA Vial of Life.com) ask patients to place their completed medical form inside of a plastic Ziploc bag.
Halonen Cave is a cave in Säkkilä village, Halosenvaara, Kuusamo, Finland. The cave forms a passageway that expands into a room-like space, and in which the tilt of the floor grows towards the back of the cave. The cave is shaped like a cylinder, and is almost round. It is over 15 meters long, and its height at the middle is approximately 3 meters, and received its name from one of its landowners.
In both forms the colour tends to be darker towards the front, fading and becoming more sparse towards the back. The underside of the crab is white. The legs and claws are white with red to purple pigmentation to the same degree and hue as the carapace. Rock crabs are known to feed on sea snails by crushing their shells through the use of a chela (a "nipper" or pincer-like appendage).
Diagram showing the typical location of pain Signs and symptoms of acute pyelonephritis generally develop rapidly over a few hours or a day. It can cause high fever, pain on passing urine, and abdominal pain that radiates along the flank towards the back. There is often associated vomiting. Chronic pyelonephritis causes persistent flank or abdominal pain, signs of infection (fever, unintentional weight loss, malaise, decreased appetite), lower urinary tract symptoms and blood in the urine.
Auckland Reactor returned as a 7-year-old on 30 September in the Avon City Ford Cup. He showed little sign of his previous standing start concerns, settling towards the back of the field and finished strongly to win by a head. This was followed by a fast-finishing run for fifth in the Canterbury Classic. He then contested the Ashburton Flying Stakes; the main lead-up race to the New Zealand Cup.
In remembrance, the Keith McNally Memorial was created to award the Street Stock driver who goes to the track consistently, works hard at racing, loves the sport, but unfortunately ends up towards the back. This was awarded to #4 Rick Bourre in 2008. In 1994, Mini-Sprints were added to the regular schedule. The class had decent numbers for a first year schedule, with car counts as high as eight on most occasions.
The centra of the caudal vertebrae were very consistent in length, but their diameter became smaller towards the back, and they went from elliptical to circular in cross-section. The scapulae (shoulder blades) were moderate in length and concave on their inner sides to follow the body's curvature. The scapulae were wide, particularly the upper part, which was rectangular (or squared off), a unique feature. The coracoids were elliptical, and not fused to the scapulae.
It is up to 2 cm wide at the front, becoming expanded at the sides and rear, where it reaches a maximum width of over 5 cm. The outer margin of the peristome may be sinuate, whereas the inner margin is deeply incurved, especially towards the back of the pitcher. The inner portion of the peristome accounts for around 34% of its total cross-sectional surface length.Bauer, U., C.J. Clemente, T. Renner & W. Federle 2012.
The Barber's Shop is a single storey timber building, rectangular in form, with its short axis towards the street. The building is level with the street at the front and is set on stumps of increasing height towards the back as the ground falls away to the rear of the block. The shop has a stepped parapet and a gable and hipped roof clad in corrugated metal. It has a canvas awning to the street.
The middle room has a bench along the right wall. Towards the back of the middle room, to the left, is the half cell and to the right the cell. The half-cell has a bench along the right wall and to the left, has a square window connecting it to cave 2. A door with grooves for fitting a wooden frame, leads into the cell which has a bench along its right wall.
The sequence of nesting behavior is: cell construction, provisioning, egg-laying, and sealing the cell. A cross-sectional view of an O. bicornis nest: Partitioned cells can be seen in a tube. Cells containing females are typically larger than those containing males, due to the sexual dimorphism of the species. Additionally, cells containing females are situated towards the back of the nest, while those with males are closer to the nest entrance.
He fell to the ground and was able to crawl, then roll under the bus to safety, but later died of his wounds. Brigid Cook was trying to guide people down between the buses and along the jetty area to cover. Bryant moved to the front of this bus and walked across to the next coach. People had quickly moved from this coach towards the back end, in an attempt to seek cover.
Skeleton of Gray's beaked whale Gray's beaked whale is a fairly slender member of the genus. The melon on the whale bulges towards the blowhole and slopes down towards the beak. The beak itself is very long and pointed for a beaked whale, and has a relatively straight mouth line. In both sexes, 17–22 small teeth per row located towards the back of the mouth have been reported, but not confirmed.
The rostral index sensu Naish & Martill of this snout, in this case its length divided by its maximum height, is 5.4, the highest value known for any pterosaur. In the snout about eleven or twelve teeth are present; the total for the upper jaw is estimated at twenty-five to thirty. The teeth are largest in front and gradually decline in size towards the back. They have a broad base with an oval cross-section.
Skovvangskolen and Møllevangskolen was jointly designed with Harald Salling-Mortensen. Møllevangsskolen is the first time in Danish school architecture when class rooms were designed with dual external light sources. The design called for a sloping ceiling that rise towards the back of the classroom where large ceiling windows illuminated with skylights. Vorrevangsskolen also exemplified modern school architecture in the overall shape of the school with many perpendicular wings and small courtyards in between.
Like Mei, Sinovenator, and Sinornithoides but unlike Sinusonasus, the bottom edge of the lower jaw is straight and not convex. There are at least 21 tooth positions in the upper jaw and 24 in the lower; the latter is less than Sinovenator (27) and other troodontids. Like Sinovenator, however, teeth towards the back of the mouth have small serrations on their rear edges. The four premaxillary teeth are not recurved but D-shaped.
Other fragmentary specimens are known from the same area, which preserve distinctive features of the frill. Judiceratops shows a distinctive combination of characters, not seen in other ceratopsids. Its frill (parietal bone) has a broad midline bar, a rounded caudal margin, and reduced osteoderms (bony projections) on the rear edge of the frill, the epiparietals. The osteoderms on the lateral margins of the frill are large near the front, but small towards the back.
Potato harvesters are machines that harvest potatoes. They work by lifting the potatoes from the bed using a share. Soil and crop are transferred onto a series of webs where the loose soil is sieved out. The potatoes are moved towards the back of the harvester on to a separation unit and then (on manned machines) to a picking table where people pick out the stones, clods, and haulms (stems or stalks) by hand.
The "splat" shot is an elongated pinch that strikes the side wall towards the back part of the court. It often makes a distinctive splatting sound. The advantage to a splat shot, beyond an unpredictable angle, is that it creates a longer distance to travel forward for the opponent who is held between a tension of going forward and staying back because of velocity of passing shots. Pinches are classified as frontside or reverse.
The body whorl is partially free of these, and those perceptible there, are only slightly obvious on the upper half of the side of the aperture. The aperture is ovate and smooth. The lips are a whitish, clear fawn-color, but the depth of the cavity presents the same tint as the exterior. It is narrower towards the base, where it terminates by a shallow emargination, the edges of which are slightly curved towards the back.
The pose is illustrated as "Pasini Mudra" (not an asana) in Theos Bernard's 1943 book Hatha Yoga: The Report of A Personal Experience. Pasini Mudra is described in the Gheranda Samhita 3.84: "Throw the two legs on the neck towards the back, holding them strongly together like a noose (Paśa). This is called Paśini Mudra; it awakens the Shakti (Kundalini)." The pose appears as an asana in the 20th century in works such as the 1966 Light on Yoga.
The hindlimbs were relatively long and powerful, with a short thighbone and a long lower leg. The foot was long and the first metatarsal was reduced to a splint, a derived trait. The tail featured low plate-like triangular chevrons that were expanded towards the back, which is unique in the Euornithopoda. The gastroliths discovered formed clusters of up to hundred-forty rounded and polished stones in the abdomen with an average stone diameter of about eight millimetres.
Within a short time after seizing control of the aircraft, the lead hijacker Safarini realized that the cockpit crew had escaped and therefore he would be forced to negotiate with officials. First and business class passengers were ordered to go towards the back of the plane. At the same time, passengers at the back of the plane were ordered forward. Since the aircraft was nearly full, passengers sat down in the aisles, galleys and door exits.
The dentary bone is long (occupying half of the jaw's length), shallow, and triangular, and it bears a groove that widens towards the back of the bone. A distinct fossa on the top surface of the surangular bone separates Jianianhualong from other troodontids. The angular bone projects upwards behind the dentary, like Sinovenator and various other members of the Deinonychosauria. The maxilla of Jianianhualong bore 21 teeth on each side, while the dentary bore 25 on each side.
Alopecosa huabanna is a species of wolf spider found in Inner Mongolia in the People's Republic of China. The female has a length (excluding legs) of about 10 mm, the male being smaller at around 8 mm. Both sexes are generally dark brown with a longitudinal yellow band along the back of the carapace and abdomen, which distinctively has 4 paired branches towards the back of the abdomen. The male has much hairier legs than the female.
Females are about 8 to 9 mm long, males about 7 to 8.5 mm long. Most sexes are brown, with some darker parts, such as of the front of the carapace (the upper surface of the cephalothorax), the ends of the legs and the chelicerae. The abdomen (opisthosoma) is mottled grey or grey–black, with indistinct paler chevrons towards the rear. Males have an orange-yellow area towards the back of the carapace, darkening to brown at the front.
The hybrid has a wider pitcher lid that is never relfexed beyond 90 degrees and the pitcher cup is not appressed in the lower parts as in N. dubia. In addition, the mouth of N. inermis × N. talangensis is raised towards the back as opposed to being horizontal. In 2001, Kurata described this hybrid as a new species, N. pyriformis. Kurata, S. 2001. スマトラ島およびミンダナオ島産ウツボカズラの2新種(英文).
The tip of the lower jaw is bright red or orange in most species. Halfbeaks carry several adaptations to feeding at the water surface. The eyes and nostrils are at the top of the head and the upper jaw is mobile, but not the lower jaw. Combined with their streamlined shape and the concentration of fins towards the back (similar to that of a pike), these adaptations allow halfbeaks to locate, catch, and swallow food items very effectively.
It has been a matter of some discussion what actually caused the death of the man. In January 2006 a professor and a doctor at Sahlgrenska University Hospital performed an "operation" on a plastic model of the body, based on computed tomography of the body. As a result, they concluded that he had first been hit at the lower jaw, then at the right ear and finally a lethal hit further towards the back of his head.
The sparsely-spotted stingray has a more or less diamond-shaped pectoral fin disc wider than long, with rounded outer corners. The anterior margins of the disc are nearly straight and converge at an obtuse angle on the fleshy snout, the tip of which barely protrudes from the disc. The small eyes are immediately followed by comma-shaped spiracles with angular or rounded posterior rims. The outer rim of each nostril is enlarged into a knob towards the back.
Zone one (7500–6500 BCE), starting from the top, included two strata near the front of the shelter. It consisted of limestone that was thick. However, towards the back of the shelter, zone one contained a third stratum that was distinguished by a sterile line of deposits. Zone one contained some fire-cracked hearthstones, large flint debris, rodent bones, some cracked deer bone, and near the middle of the cave, late Paleo-Indian points were recovered.
The end of a plastic tube is lubricated (local anesthetic, such as 2% xylocaine gel, may be used; in addition, nasal vasoconstrictor and/or anesthetic spray may be applied before the insertion) and inserted into one of the patient's anterior nares. Treatment with 2.0 mg of IV midazolam greatly reduces patient stress. The tube should be directed straight towards the back of the patient as it moves through the nasal cavity and down into the throat.
The second room is used as a police office and has modern cupboards and a counter. There is a toilet on the rear verandah. Between the courtroom/police station and the police residence is a modern timber double garage with metal roller doors. The police residence is a timber dwelling set on cement stumps, which are low at the front and increase in height towards the back as the ground falls away to the rear of the block.
Some of the bristles along the carapace are short and hooked while others are long and straight. The abdomen has seven segments in both sexes with the male abdomen being more narrowwith the segments being broader than longer. The legs are longest in the front and get progressively shorter towards the back. It has three pairs of walking legs, a pair of swimming legs in the back, and a pair of claws at the front called chelipeds.
As in other ceratosaurs, the shoulder blade (scapula) and shoulder girdle (coracoid) fuse into a single bone, the scapulocoracoid. This bone is very large and broad, even compared to the condition in other ceratosaurs. The scapula portion (above the glenoid, or arm socket) tapers towards the back while the coracoid portion (below the glenoid) is expanded into a curved blade-like structure. While abelisaurids have arms that are extremely reduced in size, Masiakasaurus and other noasaurids had longer forelimbs.
It is dumped into the hopper when full then returned to a low position. A large wall the height of the truck is hydraulically moved towards the back of the truck and compresses waste into the body. At the designated disposal site, the wall can move all the way to the back of the truck, and about 6 inches out that back to unload the truck. Side loaders drive next to bins placed on the curb.
The two-piece windshield of the Orion V has the driver's windshield canted towards the back of the bus to reduce reflections. The bus was available in both transit (two-door) and suburban (single front door) configurations. The Orion V uses a welded monocoque steel tube frame clad with steel and fiberglass panels, and an aluminum roof. The interior floor height is except for the vestibule portion starting at the rear wheels, which is slightly lower at .
The former Billy Madrid's House is a single storey timber building, rectangular in form, with its short axis towards the street. The building is level with the street at the front and has concrete and timber stumps of increasing height towards the back as the ground falls away to the rear of the block. The shop has a stepped parapet and a gable and hipped roof clad in corrugated metal. Timber posts support a metal awning to the street.
At Epsom, Psidium was ridden by the French jockey Roger Poincelet. He was not considered a serious contender, starting at odds of 66/1 in a field of twenty-eight. The race was run on rock-hard ground in front of a crowd estimated at 250,000 which included the Queen and the Queen Mother. Psidium was held up towards the back of the field, and was not in contention when the leaders turned into the straight.
The filly was drawn on the wide outside of the seventeen runner field and started at odds of 9/2, being made joint-favourite with Big Break. Hughes settled the filly towards the back of the field and was still in last place turning into the straight, before switching to the outside. Sky Lantern made rapid progress to overtake the entire field and took the lead a furlong from the finish before drawing clear to win by four lengths.
He scored a try in each of his next two matches, against the and the . However, Grey then suffered a serious cruciate ligament which saw him miss the remainder of 2011 and the majority of the 2012 season. Upon his return from injury, he made five appearances towards the back-end of the 2012 Currie Cup First Division competition, scoring one try against the . He was named in the squad for their inaugural season in the Super Rugby competition in 2013.
74 the LH94 suffered from abiding understeer and poor traction. As the team's rivals made progress throughout the year, Larrousse gradually sank towards the back of the grid. Comas did, however, manage to score another point at the attritional German Grand Prix. Larrousse's parlous financial situation was exposed towards the end of the year, when Beretta was dropped after his financial support dried up and the team was forced to resort to pay drivers in a last-ditch attempt to survive.
The teeth are quite small for an australopithecine, and are more within the range of those of early Homo. However, unlike Homo, the molars progressively increase in size towards the back of the mouth—as opposed to the second molar being the largest—and the cusps are more closely spaced together. Comparison of various hominins' jawbones (A. sediba leftmost) The shape of the mandibular ramus (the bar which connects the jaw to the skull) is quite different between MH1 and MH2.
In the 1970s, McDonald's began to diversify their target audience towards the back end of the civil rights movement at the time. To modern audiences, the advertising style in this given campaign appears stereotypical and is a clear example of tokenism. However, at the time it was seen as a huge step forward in terms of overcoming racial issues. In order to appeal to African-American people, McDonald's exclusively used images of African-American people enjoying a McDonald's meal in their ads.
The illicium is twice the length of the second dorsal spine and its often darkly banded. The second dorsal spine is practically straight and is mobile, and the third one is bent towards the back of the body; both are membranously attached to the head. They are well separated from each other and from the dorsal fin. The pectoral fins are angled and help, with the pelvic fins, to move the frogfish on the bottom and to keep a stable position for ambush.
It is situated at the upper (proximal) end of the ulna, one of the two bones in the forearm. When the hand faces forward (supination) the olecranon faces towards the back (posteriorly). It is bent forward at the summit so as to present a prominent lip which is received into the olecranon fossa of the humerus in extension of the forearm. Its base is contracted where it joins the body and the narrowest part of the upper end of the ulna.
If infection spreads to the space between the muscles of mastication, then trismus, the inability to completely open one's mouth, will also be present. Severe mouth infections become dangerous when breathing or swallowing are impaired. Since the primary and secondary spaces extend towards the back of the throat, significant swelling can lead to airway obstruction. Signs and symptoms of airway obstruction are difficulty breathing, stridor, low oxygen saturation measured by a pulse oximeter, blue discoloration of the skin or lips, and stridor.
Before the race even began, there was dramas - Borja García (Sevilla FC) started from pit lane and Alessandro Pier Guidi (Galatasaray S.K.) having gearbox troubles on the grid. At the start, Vallés led away from Doornbos and Rigon, with Pier Guidi passing Tuka Rocha (CR Flamengo) for fourth on the opening lap. Lap three saw the end of Enrico Toccacelo's Borussia Dortmund car with suspension failure while running towards the back. The top ten somehow stayed in order, until the pit window.
GSI/SR/PAL-G074, a well-preserved right mf4 that Wilson and colleagues selected as the holotype of Dakshina jederi, is 7.57 mm high and has a crown of 3.66 × 2.99 mm. It is curved, with the base more distal (towards the back) than the top. The occlusal surface is rectangular. On the lingual side (towards the tongue), there is a deep furrow (filled in part with cementum) that extends from the top to near the base of the tooth.
Desmarest described the Sunda leopard cat from Java as a little smaller than the domestic cat with brown round spots on grey-brown coloured fur above and whitish underneath, a line from above each eye towards the back and longish spots on the back. He noted the similarity to the leopard cat from India. Like all Prionailurus species it has rounded ears. Like its mainland relative, the Sunda leopard cat is slender, with long legs and well-defined webs between its toes.
The Al-mi'raj is a single-horned hare from Islamic folklore. Unlike most horned hares, it was described as carnivorous. At least one genus of real 'horned' small mammal existed, the extinct horned gopher Ceratogaulus. However, this was a rodent (not a hare); and the paired conical bone protrusions on its skull were atop its snout forward of its eyes (not on its forehead nor towards the back of its head as illustrations portray for a lepus cornutus or jackalope).
Its extremity is endowed with a characteristic esca (lure), which resembles a small fish or shrimp with a pinkish to brownish coloration. The illicium is twice the length of the second dorsal spine and is often darkly banded. The second dorsal spine is practically straight and is mobile, the third one is bent towards the back of the body, and both are membranously attached to the head. They are well separated from each other and also from the dorsal fin.
The median area is slightly rectangular, with the front edge flaring a little past the front edges of the lateral sections. along the back edge it is bordered by the two frontal ridges and the antennae sockets. The antennae have widened flat scapes that reach between towards the back of the head, but not past it. The upper end of the scape has an uneven top with a divot possibly for the base of flagellum when it was at rest.
The police reserve at Yungaburra consists of 3 adjoining blocks of land on Cedar Street. These contain the court house/police station, a modern two bay garage and a police residence. The courthouse/police station is a single storey timber building, rectangular in form, with its long axis towards the street. It is set on metal stumps that are low at the front and increase in height towards the back as the ground falls away to the rear of the block.
These mythological serpent presentations were offerings at the ballgame courts and also share features of the rain god and lightning. The claws below and the headdress displayed towards the back, symbolizes the power of nature elements. The marker found at the eastern side of the court, depicts attributes of the ancient rain gods, reiterating their association with fertility. This is expressed by the feather headdress, eye circles, the spiral depicting a mouth, the coiled nose, gums with teeth and the lower jaw.
There are eight pairs of dorso-ventral muscles (shell muscles). The nervous system is relatively simple, with no true ganglion present. The repeated organs include from three to six pairs of "gills" (actually ctenidia) located in a curved line along each side of the foot (though the number is not always considered definitive of a given species), and as many as six "kidneys" (actually nephridia). The tip or point of their low shells points forward rather than towards the back.
They were also worn more open to showcase the elaborate waistcoats... The skirts of the coat remained wide and were stiffened by buckram, horsehair, and other means to fan out over the hips. The front edges of the coat, which previously had been cut straight, began to curve slightly towards the back to reveal more of the waistcoat (Byrde 1979) Fabrics for men were primarily silks, velvets, and brocades, with woolens used for the middle class and for sporting costumes.
Most of the skull bones were not preserved, with the exception of both lower jaws as well as a toothed maxilla bone. All of the teeth are slender and conical, and their internal structure has shallowly folded enamel unlike almost all other microsaurs. The teeth are largest right behind the tip of the snout and diminish in size towards the back of the mouth. The complete left mandible was 2.6 centimeters (1.0 inches) in length, indicating that the skull was similar in size.
Opposite the old South Millburn farm is a ruined cottage with unusual architectural features. The gable ends both held rectangular windows with an unusually elongated vertical axis, not set centrally, but offset towards the back of the building which itself faces South Millburn. These slit windows would have given a clear view to anyone within the building of any activity to the sides of the building. The side facing South Millburn had one similar windows to the gable inserts as shown by a surviving lintel.
The second Viking Crown Lounge visible surrounding the funnel on the Sovereign of the Seas. The original design was a 180-degree wraparound structure facing aft (towards the back of the ship). The first and original design was used on the Song of Norway, Nordic Prince, and Sun Viking, and later was used on the Viking Serenade and the Empress of the Seas. The second design is a full 360-degree wraparound structure that was used on the Song of America and on the Sovereign Class vessels.
The short transverse process on the caudal vertebrae implies the tail did not move vertically, indicating that Hyposaurus was not a diving animal. Moreover, Dyrosaurids generally are hypothesized to have pitch correction where the pleural cavity is pushed towards the back side to produce a more horizontal stance while submerged in water. Hyposaurus foraged in their marine environments and used the protection of the water column. Buffetaut proposed Dyrosaurids laid their eggs on land and only after they have fully grown do moved to coastal waters.
2 The new yellow-brick building with slate roofs echoed the construction materials used by its larger neighbour, the Cambridge Military Hospital. It cost £12,600 to buildSevenoaks Chronicle and Kentish Advertiser, 29 July 1898 and had "sanitary blocks" incorporated in "Italianate" corner towers towards the back. There were fifty- three beds arranged in eleven wards of different sizes, including wards named for Queen Victoria, the Duke of Connaught and Lord Lansdowne. The staircases had shallow steps, supposed to help nurses in long dresses run up and down.
The head is longer than it is wide and broader towards the back. The sides of the head are convex around the eyes. The long antennal scapes (the base of the antenna) extend beyond the occipital border, and the second segment of the funiculus (a series of segments between the base and club) is slightly longer than the first, third and fourth segment. The node, pronotum, epinotum and thorax are longer than broad, and the mesonotum is just as long as it is wide.
Pebbles returned in the Champion Stakes at Newmarket in October. She raced over ten furlongs, the longest distance she had attempted and also competed against colts and older horses for the first time. Pebbles looked calmer than usual before the race and settled well towards the back of the field. In the closing stages she was switched to the outside and accelerated into contention before finishing second by a neck to the French-trained colt Palace Music who won in a course record time.
Many isolated teeth found throughout Cretaceous Nigeria can be assigned to Goronyosaurus, because of its unique tooth anatomy. Such isolated teeth display a similar polymorphic tapering, with crowns that become blunter towards the back of the tooth row. These fit the morphology of Goronyosaurus to the exclusion of all other mosasaurs, except in the fact that such isolated teeth lack the fluted grooves of Goronyosaurus. Teeth from the front of the dentary are slightly more robust than those more posterior, but still curve gently back.
There is a pale orange band running from end of the upper mandible to the origin of the dorsal fin and this intensifies dark orange red in breeding males. When looked at from above this band joins the folded dorsal fin to make an extended red band along the back. The rear margin of the caudal fin changes colour from whitish or yellow to bright red. In the females the body is yellow towards the back with lavender scales each with a yellow spot in the centre.
Two downpipes with prominent rainwater heads are located either side of the central window and the entrance door is located off-centre beneath the second last line of windows, towards the back lane. The pharmacy is located at street level with a recent shopfront of sliding glass doors to George Street. A deep awning returns around the corner a short distance into Turbot Street and is supported by iron tie-back rods. A doorway situated within the chamfered corner at street level, is no longer used.
Additional observations of subaqueous locomotion in the California Sea Lion (Zalophus californianus). Aquatic Mammals, 11.2: 53-57. Changing direction is a very rapid maneuver that is initiated by head movement towards the back of the animal that is followed by a spiral turn with the body. Due to their pectoral flippers being so closely located to their center of gravity, sea lions are capable of displaying astounding maneuverability in the pitch, roll, and yaw direction and are therefore not constrained, turning stochastically as they please.
In contrast, in Hupehsuchus and Nanchangasaurus, the lateral posterior parts of the frontals (i.e., the regions closest to the jaw joint) are tapered and extend towards the back of the skull. Based on orbit size, Eohupehsuchus was determined to have a smaller relative eye size than Nanchangosaurus, although sclerotic rings have not been found for either animal. Paleontologists have not reached a consensus on the function of the hupehsuchian "beak," although one paper argues it was used in lunge feeding, as in modern pelicans.
Among the subscribers, curiously, was King George IV, who (once the Jacobite threat to his throne had ended with the death of Cardinal Stuart in 1807) was an admirer of the Stuart legend. The monument stands towards the back of the basilica in the left aisle opposite the door from which people coming down the spiral staircase from the dome and roof exit. It is frequently adorned with flowers by Jacobite romantics. Tomb of James Francis Edward Stuart and his two sons in St. Peter's Basilica.
A large 15' wide aisle led customers from the front entrance directly towards the back of the store. On the right, perpendicular to the main aisle, were the general merchandise shelving gondolas. A tall mezzanine housed the 1 Hour Photo Department in the center of these general merchandise aisles. To the left of the main front to back walkway was the large 20' shelving and beyond that the grocery department, which was larger than the general merchandise aisle and consisted of over 15 aisles.
Some military aircraft had a unique design to prevent FOD from damaging the engine. The design included an S-shaped bend in the airflow, so that air entered the inlet, was bent back towards the front of the plane, and bent back again towards the back before entering the engine. At the back of the first bend a strong spring held a door shut. Any foreign object flying in the intake flew in, hit the door, opened it, flew through, and then exited the aircraft.
The stone blocks used in construction measured approximately on each side with a finely dressed front face, tapering towards the back in order to grip the structural fill. This patio is situated on the west side of the main terrace of the acropolis, Terrace 1. Patio A has an area of , with the largest building on the west side. Patio B lies to the east and Patio C to the west, a lower terrace supports Patio F to the southwest and Patio D to the north.
Several oceanic squid, such as the Pacific flying squid, leap out of the water to escape predators, an adaptation similar to that of flying fish. Smaller squids fly in shoals, and have been observed to cover distances as long as 50 m. Small fins towards the back of the mantle help stabilize the motion of flight. They exit the water by expelling water out of their funnel, indeed some squid have been observed to continue jetting water while airborne providing thrust even after leaving the water.
Towards the back, Perera and Vallés would collide at turn six, with Perera spinning into the gravel and retirement and Vallés retreating to the pits for a new nosecone. Dalziel also had a moment, and spun into retirement as well, with unrepairable accident damage. Out front, Toccacelo was establishing a healthy lead before his pit-stop on lap 14. Andersen then led for three laps before his pitstop, handing the lead back to Toccacelo, with Meijer now in tow, thanks to an early pitstop on lap 10.
The molars are smaller than those of H. floresiensis. Like other recent Homo and modern humans, the molars decrease in size towards the back of the mouth, and the enamel-dentin juncture lacks well defined wavy crenulations. The enamel-dentine juncture is most similar to that of Asian H. erectus. The premolars are oddly large compared to the molars, with more similar proportions to Paranthropus than any other Homo, though H. luzonensis postcanine teeth differ greatly from those of Paranthropus in size and shape.
The start-finish straight features an offset start, with the finish line towards the back of the starting grid closer to Murray's Corner. Spectator areas have spread along the track over the decades but there are a number of private properties bordering the track so spectators are unable to access all trackside vantage points. Spectator vantage points have also become less intimate to the track over recent years, with increased run-off size and debris fencing being installed around the track due to increasing international FIA standards.
Starting at 13/2 she was towards the back of the field in the early stages, before making her challenge two furlongs from the finish. She caught the Aidan O'Brien- trained Sophisticat inside the final furlong and won by half a length Although the 1,000 Guineas was more than ten months away, the bookmakers offered Queen's Logic at odds of 25/1. Two months later, Queen's Logic returned to the racecourse for the Lowther Stakes at York. This was her first attempt at six furlongs.
The fast Hockenheim circuit had been modified from the year before, with the fast Senna chicane being made slower. The Ferraris qualified first and second, with Gerhard Berger in pole position and Jean Alesi lining up alongside. The race was notable for its high rate of attrition, with 11 retirements on the opening lap. Within ten seconds of the start Alessandro Zanardi and Andrea de Cesaris tangled towards the back of the pack, taking out both Michele Alboreto and Pierluigi Martini before even reaching the first corner.
A potential medal favorite, Vinčec entered the final race with a myriad of top-ten marks over the past eight legs. A costly penalty on the run, however, effectively pushed Vinčec towards the back of the fleet, slipping him out of the podium to seventh overall with 72 net points. Vinčec sought to bid for his third consecutive trip to the Games in both London 2012 and Rio 2016, but he lost twice in a series of domestic selection regattas to multiple-time medalist Vasilij Žbogar.
The suture follows the top of the visual surface, as in all trilobites, and from there cut backwards and outwards at approximately 45° to reach the posterior margin of the cephalon approximately halfway between the glabella and the lateral border. As usual for members of the family Asaphidae, it has 8 articulating segments in the middle part of the body (or thorax). The axis is about half as wide as the ribs (or pleurae) to each of the sides. In the thorax the axis tapers slightly towards the back.
Extensor group: the tibialis anterior originates on the proximal half of the tibia and the interosseous membrane and is inserted near the tarsometatarsal joint of the first digit. In the non-weight-bearing leg, the tibialis anterior dorsiflexes the foot and lift its medial edge (supination). In the weight-bearing leg, it brings the leg towards the back of the foot, like in rapid walking. The extensor digitorum longus arises on the lateral tibial condyle and along the fibula, and is inserted on the second to fifth digits and proximally on the fifth metatarsal.
The original museum building was designed by Vilhelm Dahlerup and G.E.W. Møller and built 1889–1896 in a Historicist Italian Renaissance revival style. Towards the back of the museum is a large modern extension designed by the architects Anna Maria Indrio and Mads Møller from Arkitektfirmaet C. F. Møller. The extension was erected in 1998 to house the extensive modern art collection. The two buildings are connected by a glass panelled 'Street of Sculptures' walkway and theatre which stretches the entire length of the museum and looks out onto the Østre Anlæg park.
For example:The height of net has reduced to 6.0 feet. Nowadays eight players can play in a team four players play at back side and four at the center of court and one player stands in front of net. If any ball goes into net (called as 3rd ball or 'common ball'), the net man pushes it back to his team and the 'Defencer' (man which is standing in the right center) pushes it towards the back side players (3rd players) of the opponent team. And the players of 3rd hit it forcefully.
The site has three large capstones which slope downwards towards the back, the largest being long and weighing . The gallery below is made up of a large rectangular chamber, with a small one behind it, divided by a slab. The gallery is triple-walled, buttressed at the back by three slabs set parallel to the axis of the tomb. To the front of the gallery are the remains of a large rectangular unroofed antechamber which is wider than the gallery and separated from it by a large slab.
As a result, the envelope of the wave packet not only moves, but also distorts, in a manner that can be described by the material's group velocity dispersion. Loosely speaking, different frequency-components of the wavepacket travel at different speeds, with the faster components moving towards the front of the wavepacket and the slower moving towards the back. Eventually, the wave packet gets stretched out. This is an important effect in the propagation of signals through optical fibers and in the design of high-power, short-pulse lasers.
In August he ran a rare bad race when only seventh in the Nunthorpe at York. He attempted to lead all the way in the Diadem Stakes at Newmarket in September but was caught inside the final furlong and finished third to Baron's Pit and Fayr Jag. On his final start, Avonbridge was sent to Longchamp for a second attempt at the Prix de l'Abbaye. He started slowly, and was towards the back of the field in the early stages before Drowne produced the colt with a sustained challenge in the last 400m.
Use of the stairs by employees is encouraged by a prominent and accessible outdoor staircase in the courtyard, while the elevator is located towards the back of the building. In order to accurately measure the energy consumption and gauge the effectiveness of the design strategies, sub-metering was installed for all tenants. The Terry Thomas was also designed to conserve as much water as possible. A storm water drainage system was designed to detain runoff into an on-site tank, and then slowly release it to the city storm water system.
The reduction of buccal fat pad is usually performed under local anesthesia with the patient completely awake. The typical approach for removing the buccal fat pad is through an incision in the mouth, towards the back of the oral cavity, near the second upper molar. The buccinator muscle is then encountered and without making an incision, the fibers are separate until the buccal fat is seen. Once the buccal fat is visualized, a thin casing over the fat is opened and the fat in gently teased out while gentle pressure is applied externally.
Traditionally, the basic shape of any hairstyle features two "wings" at the side of the head that partially stick out and curve towards the back, which typically features a topknot or ponytail. The hair below this typically forms a long loop and is also drawn into the topknot. Most styles of are hardened and shaped with wax, known as , and for women, can often feature a number of different hair accessories. require special tools to shape and construct, which typically include bamboo or paulownia wood combs and heated tongs used to straighten the hair.
Alkaased finished second, beaten two and a half lengths by the Irish colt: Fortune never rode the horse again. Three weeks later, Alkaased raced outside the United Kingdom for the first time when he was sent to France to contest the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud. Ridden by Frankie Dettori he started at odds of 6/1 in a field of eleven which included Yeats, Bago, and Elvstroem. Dettori held up Alkaased towards the back of the field before moving up on the inside rail to take second place entering the straight.
The smaller sized teeth were placed in a constriction of the snout, which thus had a broader end with larger teeth, a so-called "prey grab", usually interpreted as an adaptation to catch slippery prey such as fish. The posterior skull fragment, a braincase which is rather damaged, shows on its top the base of a parietal crest, probably pointing towards the back. It seems to have been separate from the snout crest. Caulkicephalus was by the describers assigned to the Ornithocheiridae in view of the narrowing in the middle of the snout.
DK Adult (2005), The feathers of the oilbird are soft like those of many nightbirds, but not as soft as those of owls or nightjars, as they do not need to be silent like predatory species. The oilbird is mainly reddish-brown with white spots on the nape and wings. Lower parts are cinnamon-buff with white diamond- shaped spots edged in black, these spots start small towards the throat and get larger towards the back. The stiff tail feathers are a rich brown spotted with white on either side.
His participation in the Classic was briefly put in doubt by a minor training injury, but he made a quick recovery. In the Epsom Derby, Golden Fleece started the 3/1 favourite in a field of eighteen runners. His task was made slightly easier by the late withdrawal of his main rival in the betting, the Henry Cecil-trained Simply Great. Ridden by Pat Eddery, he was held up in the early stages and was still towards the back of the field on the turn into the straight.
Duke of Marmalade began his career with three races in the summer of 2006. In June he made his debut in a six furlong maiden race at Leopardstown. Ridden by Seamie Heffernan and starting at odds of 11/4 (2.75-1) favourite, he was towards the back of the field in the early stages before making progress in the last two furlongs to finish second to Chanting. Nine days later he reappeared in a maiden race over seven furlongs at The Curragh for which he was made 4/6 favourite (approximately 0.67-1).
Nudibranchs in this grouping have a mantle which overlaps the sides of the foot, apart from the tail in some families. In the Superfamily Polyceroidea and the Family Goniodorididae this is often reduced to a ridge which may bear processes. There is usually a ring of external branched gills surrounding the anus towards the back of the body, but in some subgroups these gills can be located beneath the sides of the mantle (Family Phyllidiidae, Family Corambidae). Typically there are two rhinophores with lamellae which arise through the mantle towards the front of the animals.
Figure 2. Generalized australosphenidan lower molar seen from above, illustrating major features. Abbreviations: ant, anterior (towards the front); pos, posterior (towards the back); ci, cingulum; pa, paraconid; pr, protoconid; me, metaconid; dm, distal metacristid; co, cristid obliqua; hy, hypoconid; hl, hypoconulid; ec, entocristid; tb, talonid basin. Ambondro was described on the basis of a fragmentary right mandible (lower jaw) with three teeth in it (Figure 1), interpreted as the last premolar (p-last) and the first two molars (m1 and m2). It is in the collection of the University of Antananarivo as specimen UA 10602\.
Madam Gay was restrained by Piggott towards the back of the field before moving into contention in the straight. She sprinted past her opponents, went clear of the field and won by four lengths from Val d'Erica in a race record time of 2:06.5 despite being eased down in the closing stages. Madam Gay was then matched against colts and older horses in the Eclipse Stakes on 4 July over ten furlongs at Sandown Park Racecourse where she finished fifth of the eight runners behind Master Willie.
The dorsal ribs lack uncinate process, and the sternum is also unossified, like other troodontids. Like other theropods, the first pair of the gastralia near the front of the torso is noticeably more robust, particularly in the central portion. Similar to other paravians, the caudal vertebrae of Jianianhualong become increasingly longer towards the back of the tail; for instance, the fifteenth caudal is about twice as long as the sixth. From the twenty-third caudal backwards, the sides of the caudals become compressed such that they are sub-triangular.
However, one incident arose in December 2011 in which an ultra-Orthodox man asked a woman seated in the front of the bus to move towards the back; her subsequent refusal spurred a larger gathering. Police intervention ultimately broke apart the confrontation. Regarding the event, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his support for public spaces for all and unity within the community. There have also been reports of ultra-Orthodox Jews spitting at women, attacking television crews, and protesting with signs instructing women how to dress and to avoid walking by synagogues.
The skull would have been slender and triangular, with large, fang-like teeth at the front, and smaller teeth towards the back. It had six teeth in each premaxilla of the upper jaw, and may have had 14 teeth in the maxilla and 19 in the dentary of the lower jaw. Most of the neck vertebrae were compressed sideways, and bore a longitudinal crest or keel along the sides. The family Elasmosauridae was based on the genus Elasmosaurus, the first recognized member of this group of long-necked plesiosaurs.
In addition, the mouth of N. inermis × N. talangensis is raised towards the back as opposed to being horizontal. Nepenthes inermis × N. talangensis has been the subject of taxonomic confusion in the past. In a 1973 article on the Nepenthes of Borneo, Singapore, and Sumatra, Shigeo Kurata incorrectly identified specimens of this hybrid as belonging to N. dubia. In 1997, Matthew Jebb and Martin Cheek published their monograph "A skeletal revision of Nepenthes (Nepenthaceae)", in which they referred to N. dubia plant material from Mount Talang (Kurata s.n. SING).
Safari Skyway was opened in 1986, as one of the first rides to open at Chessington World of Adventures. Safari Skyway's entrance was towards the back of the Market Square area, and the monorail gave a guided tour of the zoo, lawn and mansion area. In later years of the ride's operation, maintenance of the aging monorail system became difficult, and it suffered frequent breakdowns, including an incident in 2009 when a park-wide power cut stranded the monorail cars mid-route, forcing those inside to be rescued by a cherry picker.
The drop is steep enough and sudden enough that riders towards the back of the train are thrown out of their seats into the restraints, so that during the near-vertical drop they feel as if they're about to fall out of the ride. The train turns right into a 270-degree turn before ascending the airtime hill. The train then descends into a high-speed bunny hop before entering another high-speed turn. The train then maneuvers 3 sharp twists before entering the final high-speed turn.
The same holds for the electron concentration in the dark under applied bias. Here, the electron concentration will also decrease from the edge of the space charge region towards the back contact. This decrease as well as the collection efficiency will be approximately exponential (with the diffusion length controlling the decay). The Donolato theorem is based on the principle of detailed balance and connects the processes of charge carrier injection (relevant in the luminescent mode of operation) and charge carrier extraction (relevant in the photovoltaic mode of operation).
Conservatory Home Pergola & Conservatory An interior view of Conservatory Home This house began as an 1870s Victorian terrace house, which was left boarded-up and uninhabitable for 15 years before Dance renovated it and made new additions. Like many Victorian style terraces, this house had a well-planned façade with large windows. However the rear looked like an afterthought and a series of makeshift rooms that may have been added at a later date. This resulted in a house that was poorly lit and very dark towards the back of the terrace.
Rigon started from the pit lane, following a gearbox change after race one. From the start, polesitter Wissel led from Toccacelo and Jackson with action towards the back with Soucek's engine blowing. Jackson moved up to second, passing Toccacelo around the back of the circuit and closed up on Wissel down the front straight, and at Curva 1, Jackson would take the lead for a couple of laps. On lap 4, Toccacelo came up to the back of the Englishman's car, having already disposed of Wissel and did the same to Jackson.
The retrosplenial cortex (RSC) is a cortical area in the brain, located posteriorly (towards the back) and comprising Brodmann areas 29 and 30. The region's name refers to its anatomical location immediately behind the splenium of the corpus callosum in primates, although in rodents it is located more towards the brain surface and is relatively larger. Its function is currently not well understood, but its location close to visual areas and also to the hippocampal spatial/memory system suggest it may have a role in mediating between perceptual and memory functions.
A mixed doubles game – Scottish Schools under 12s tournament, Tranent, May 2002 In mixed doubles, both pairs typically try to maintain an attacking formation with the woman at the front and the man at the back. This is because the male players are usually substantially stronger, and can, therefore, produce smashes that are more powerful. As a result, mixed doubles require greater tactical awareness and subtler positional play. Clever opponents will try to reverse the ideal position, by forcing the woman towards the back or the man towards the front.
The Paredes- Dodge house is notably one of the only surviving colonial structures in St. Augustine. It represents many characteristic features of colonial Spanish architecture in St. Augustine, including being set directly onto the street and being built out of coquina and plastered in stucco. The original building was only two rooms and served as a private residence, but was added onto over the years to include two more rooms towards the back of the home. The Paredes- Dodge House shares a wall and a chimney with the Rodriguez-Avero-Sanchez house.
On both occasions he removed his shirt after scoring, which at Hull earned him a second yellow card and his second red card of the season. He later apologised and promised not to do it again, though Wallace doesn't have regret over it. Sunderland fans were more than pleased with the promising form Wallace showed throughout the 2006–07 campaign as Sunderland won the Championship. His early form did tail towards the back end of the season, only for him to re-find his form as the season ended.
The remaining crew had abandoned the ships a few days earlier and now planned to walk over the island and across the sea ice towards the Back River on the Canadian mainland, beginning on 26 April 1848. In addition to Franklin, eight other officers and fifteen men had also died by this point. The rest of the crew died on the march, most on the island. Thirty or forty men reached the northern coast of the mainland before dying, hundreds of miles from the nearest outpost of Western civilization.
Orion Bus Industries (OBI) introduced the Orion VI at the American Public Transit Association Expo in 1993. The two-piece windshield of the Orion VI, similar to the design of the Orion V and first- generation Orion VII, has the driver's windshield canted towards the back of the bus to reduce reflections. The bus was offered with up to three side doors, and with a choice of Diesel or compressed natural gas (CNG) engines. The engine compartment of the Orion VI completely occupies the rear corner on the driver's side of the bus.
Ridgewood School neighbours the New Stone Hill School, a specialist school which was formerly the Anchorage School, and before that, a teacher training college. It has an open playing field towards the back of the site alongside Ridgewood's open P.E. fields, which are both surrounded by open fields used for agriculture. To one side of the playing field is an abandoned railway line which runs through Scawsby and Sprotbrough. In the school's most recent Ofsted report (March 2019), both the lower school and sixth form were marked 'Requires Improvement'.
At Epsom on 3 June, St. Frusquin faced ten opponents in the 117th running of the Derby. He was made favourite at 8/13, with Persimmon, having his first run of the year, being the second choice on 5/1. St. Frusquin was towards the back of the field in the early stages but soon moved up to join the leaders and turned into the straight in second place behind Bay Ronald. Tommy Loates sent St. Frusquin into the lead two furlongs out and was immediately challenged by Jack Watts on Persimmon.
He broke slowly and was towards the back of the field in the early running. As the race entered the closing stages, Revoque was trapped behind horses and Reid had to switch him to the outside to find a clear run. He then made rapid progress in the last two furlongs of the race to finish second, beaten three quarters of a length by Entrepreneur Some observers considered him a rather unlucky loser. Revoque was expected to be a major contender for The Derby and looked impressive in training gallops.
Boston Landmarks Commission Study report on the Public Garden, 1975. p12 The Public Garden is rectangular in shape and is bounded on the south by Boylston Street, on the west by Arlington Street, and on the north by Beacon Street where it faces Beacon Hill. On its east side, Charles Street divides the Public Garden from the Common. The greenway connecting the Public Garden with the rest of the Emerald Necklace is the strip of park that runs west down the center of Commonwealth Avenue towards the Back Bay Fens and the Muddy River.
The holotype worker is approximately with a slender mesosoma, weakly rounded pronotum and a thick petiole node. The side of the node facing the gaster is bowed outwards forming a curved profile and the top of the node is rounded. The head has oval compound eyes that are placed towards the back end and are small compared to other Formica species. While the chewing edges of the mandibles are not preserved enough to determine the presence of teeth, the ends of the chewing margins each have an acute tooth.
Ciudad de Murcia was formed in the heat of the summer of 1999, when Quique Pina, a former player of Real Murcia, started the club with the help of local businesses and influential friendships. In the 2003–04 season, the new club first appeared in Segunda División. After reaching as high as a 12th place, it finished 17th, narrowly avoiding relegation, repeating the feat in the following campaign (18th). Impressive performances, particularly towards the back end of the season, saw Ciudad attain a much higher league standing in 2005–06.
It is armed with a front-mounted cannon, housed underneath a fold-away panel, and is also equipped with ejector seats and radar. The hydrogenic power unit can be removed and re-assembled as a personal jet pack, or other devices of comparable size (additional components for which are stored towards the back of the vehicle). SPVs are distributed worldwide and are requisitioned from disguised buildings and other structures, guarded by undercover operatives. A Spectrum agent can access an SPV only upon presenting his or her identification to the relevant authority.
In the Long Glen (NS326161) close to Whiteleys Farm is a cave with an entrance level with the watercourse and local legend has it that William Wallace hid at this location after the "Barns of Ayr" incident in 1297. It is on the south bank of the Long Glen Burn and has an entrance that is about 5 feet in height and about two at the bottom. The tool marks on the twelve-foot tunnel are suggestive of it being largely man- made. The roof slopes downwards towards the back of the cave.
However, the latter seven are much larger and more complex. These teeth increase in size towards the back of the skull and possess a pointed cusp followed by a low ridge. The nasal bones on the top of the snout are thin and separate from each other at the back of the snout to make room for the triangular front edge of the frontals. The bones of the skull roof (frontals and parietals) are not fused to their respective pairs, and the parietals form a sagittal crest between the upper temporal fenestrae on the top of the skull.
David Parkins' workload meant he was able to draw the strip on an increasingly less frequent basis throughout his time on the strip, and after 2003 he became too busy to continue as full-time artist. Nigel Parkinson, who had previously been drawing the strip as Parkins' understudy, continued as artist, along with Jimmy Hansen coming in to replace Parkins. The pair drew the vast majority of stories between 2004 and 2007, when Tom Paterson also started drawing the strip. In 2008, Dennis was given an extra strip towards the back of the comic, usually a continuing story across a few weeks.
Vowels are those sounds that have no audible friction caused by the narrowing or obstruction of some part of the upper vocal tract. They vary in quality according to the degree of lip aperture and the placement of the tongue within the oral cavity. Vowels are called close when the lips are relatively closed, as in the pronunciation of the vowel (English "ee"), or open when the lips are relatively open, as in the vowel (English "ah"). If the tongue is located towards the back of the mouth, the quality changes, creating vowels such as (English "oo").
Designated as a scout vessel, the Raptor-class is depicted as a stalwart vessel. Its hull, stated to be twice as thick as that of the Enterprise (NX-01), can survive the pressures in the top two kilometers (seven thousand feet) of a gas giant's atmosphere. Although designed by the production team as a precursor to the D7-class, the Raptor-class is far smaller; Eaves stated that his design would have had a crew of around 12. The ship is armed with two torpedo launchers and a disruptor array mounted towards the back of the ship.
The palatal part of the premaxilla was concave, with many randomly arranged nutrient foramina (openings). The nasal bone—which formed the upper part of the snout—was relatively wide (becoming wider towards the back), and its front was covered with irregularly spaced vascular foramina. The suture between the nasal and frontal bones was less pointed forwards in the middle than were those of Catopsbaatar's relatives. Stereo photographs showing the most complete adult skull PM 120/107 from above, the side, and below The maxilla (the main part of the upper jaw) was extensive, and formed most of the side of the snout.
Lexie Lou broke from post position 14 and settled towards the back of the pack for the first half mile. She then started to make up ground down the backstretch, moved to second around the far turn and hit the front heading into the stretch. She then held off Ami's Holiday to win by lengths, becoming the sixth filly to complete the Oaks/Plate double. It was the first Queen's Plate win for trainer Casse and the second for jockey Patrick Husbands, who became convinced the filly would win after he breezed her the day before the race.
It was, however, not built entirely shell-first, but involved some elements of skeleton or frame- first construction. The keel, extended by a long fore foot ending with a concave stempost tilted towards the back, was laid first, then edge jointed by mortise (10 to 12 cm deep and 8 cm wide) and tenon (20 to 22 cm long, 8 cm wide, and 1.5 cm thick), construction to three strakes. This first section of the ship, the keel and the first three planks, was made from elm. Floor timbers were then bolted directly to the keel, giving greater rigidity to the internal skeleton.
The neural canals in its neck vertebrae gradually become taller towards the back of the neck, which may be a distinguishing trait. Unlike the Lagerpetidae or Ornithodira, the hindlimbs of Teleocrater are not adapted for running; the metatarsal bones are not particularly elongated. Also unlike lagerpetids and ornithodirans, Teleocrater inherited the more flexible ankle configuration present ancestrally among archosaurs, suggesting that the same configuration was also ancestral to Avemetatarsalia but was lost independently by several lineages. Histology of the long bones of Teleocrater indicates that it had moderately fast growth rates, closer to ornithodirans than crocodilians and other pseudosuchians.
That of MH1 is taller and wider; the front and back border are nearly vertical and parallel, in contrast to the nonparallel borders of MH2 with a concave front border; and the coronoid process of MH1 is angled towards the back with a deep and asymmetrical mandibular notch, whereas MH2 has an uncurved coronoid process with a shallow mandibular notch. Compared to patterns seen in modern great apes, such marked differences exceed what would be expected if these could be explained as due to sexual dimorphism or the juvenile status of MH1. Skeletally, A. sediba may have been a highly variable species.
Fleeting Spirit made a belated start to her championship season, first appearing in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot. Not for the first time she made a slow start and was towards the back of the field for the first half of the race. She finished strongly however, to finish second of fifteen starters, beaten three quarters of a length by the Australian-trained Scenic Blast. The July Cup at Newmarket attracted a strong international field, including Takeover Target and Scenic Blast from Australia, J J the Jet Plane from South Africa and African Rose (Haydock Sprint Cup) from France.
There are ten cervical vertebrae in the neck of Xingxiulong. The proatlas, an atrophied vertebra positioned in front of the atlas, is bounded in front by top sides of the foramen magnum. While it is difficult to say much about the atlas itself due to damage, the immediately following axis has a relatively short centrum, which is slightly compressed on its sides and bottom. Overall, the remainder of the cervical vertebrae are relatively short, being only 2.5 to 3 times as long as they are tall; they become increasingly shorter towards the back of the neck, like Lufengosaurus.
Buoy then contested Britain's most important weight-for-age race, the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on 27 July. He moved up in the straight to challenge Snow Knight for the lead but was outpaced in the closing stages and finished fourth behind Dahlia, Highclere and Dankaro. Buoy was sent to France for the second time in his racing career to contest the Grand Prix de Deauville over 2700 metres on 25 August. He started the 6/1 third favourite, but ran very poorly, finishing towards the back of the sixteen-runner field behind the subsequently disqualified Admetus.
A witness was found who said she saw Downing leaving the cemetery, and at that time she also saw Wendy Sewell alive and unharmed. Downing applied for leave to appeal on the grounds he had a new witness. On 25 October 1974, the Court of Appeal heard the grounds for appeal and reached the conclusion that the witness' evidence of seeing Wendy Sewell walking towards the back of the consecrated chapel was unreliable due to some fully grown trees obstructing her line of sight. The court felt that her evidence was not credible and secure enough to allow an appeal against the conviction.
In July she returned to her best distance of one and quarter miles and attempted to become the first female to win the Eclipse Stakes at Sandown Park Racecourse. She finished sixth behind the Irish-trained colt Sadler's Wells. In August, Cormorant Wood and Sadler's Wells met again in the Benson and Hedges Gold Cup at York Racecourse where her other opponent included Tolomeo and the leading British miler Chief Singer. Starting as a 15/1 outsider, the filly was held up by Cauthen towards the back of the field before moving forward in the straight.
In comparison to its predecessors, the PS05 featured heavily sculpted sidepods, updated aerodynamics and a newer Cosworth unit, though it was older than what Red Bull was being supplied with at the time. In terms of performance, the car was regularly towards the back of the field, with occasional midfield finishes. Of the fifteen races the PS05 was used, it retired at eight races, failed to classify at one race and finished twelve races. In comparison to its immediate predecessor, the PS04B, which retired from fifteen races and finished eighteen races, the PS05 was more reliable and yet finished lower on average.
Top: the skull of the WGSC V260003. Bottom: annotated drawing of the skull, showing the rectangular frontals in red, and the posteriorly shifted parietal bones in pale yellow.Like other hupehsuchians, Eohupehsuchus has a superficially bird-like skull, with an elongate, narrowly tapered, edentulous snout that contributes more than half of its total length. The genus is distinguished from other hupehsuchians in part by the shape and arrangement of bones in its skull roof: its parietal bones are further towards the back of the skull than those of Hupehsuchus and Nanchangosaurus, and its frontal bones are narrow and rectangular.
The cephalon is rounded at its front and terminates in narrow, long spines that may reach the pygidium. The sides of the thorax and pygidium are tapering, with the width across the base of the pygidial spines about ⅔ of the width across the base of the genal spines. The cephalon may be covered in pustules in small specimens, but pustules get wider spaced and lower with size. central raised area of the cephalon (or glabella) is crossed by two furrows, the most backward almost straight defining the occipital ring, and the frontal one convex towards the back.
Compared to other Morrison theropods, Ceratosaurus showed taller neural spines on the foremost tail vertebrae, which were vertical rather than inclined towards the back. Together with the deep chevron bones on the underside of the tail, they indicate a deep, "crocodile-like" tail possibly adapted for swimming. On the contrary, allosaurids feature a shorter, taller, and stiffer body with longer legs. They would have been adapted for rapid running in open terrain and for preying upon large herbivorous dinosaurs such as sauropods and stegosaurs, but as speculated by Bakker and Bir, seasonally switched to aquatic prey items when the large herbivores were absent.
The centra, or "bodies", of these vertebrae were co-ossified in the holotype specimen, which indicates it was an adult. The neural arches of these vertebrae were very thin and rather high, which gave the neural canal (the opening through the middle of the vertebrae) a triangular outline when seen from the back. The lower part of the neural canal was narrow towards the back by the axis, where it was half the breadth of the centrum. It became broader towards the front, where it was almost the same breadth as the centrum of the atlas.
This contained two berths forward and, towards the back, tables for radio-operator and navigator, with a toilet further aft. The fin was integral with the body, rising slowly from it (a characteristic feature of Couzinet's designs) and carrying a pointed, curved, deep and narrow rudder. The Arc-en-Ciel's triangular plan tailplane, mounted near mid- fuselage, had a tapered elevator with a curved cut-out for rudder movement. The Couzinet 10 had fixed, conventional landing gear, with mainwheels below the outer engines on V-struts from the wing spars and with rubber cord shock absorbers.
Glock and Pic stayed towards the back in the race, but picked up places as cars either retired or pitted. During the sole safety car period of the race, the MR01 was able to use the reinstated rule that allows lapped cars to un-lap themselves prior to the race restart. Glock finished the race 14th, while Pic was forced to retire five laps from the finish due to falling oil pressure, but was classified in 15th place as he had completed over 90% of the race distance. At the second round, the , the Marussia MR01 continued to show pace and reliability.
State Street entrance to the Wellington Hotel in 2006 prior to demolition. Wellington Row is a row of buildings along the south side of State Street in Albany, New York. It spans from 132 to 140 State Street and includes the Wellington Hotel, its namesake, the former Elks Lodge No. 49, former Berkshire Hotel, and a couple of row houses south of the Wellington Hotel (132 and 134 State Street). The Wellington Hotel included a second building called the Wellington Annex on Howard Street with an attached garage that both faced towards the back of Wellington Row.
O. tamandua has a long anal fin, a small caudal fin, and tapering pectoral fins; the dorsal and pelvic fins are absent. The caudal fin shows a great deal of variation due to regeneration after tail loss; in some cases the regenerated fin becomes merged with the anal fin. The fin rays number 9 in the caudal fin, 14-15 in the pectoral fins, and 207-256 in the anal fin. Almost the entire body, except for the dorsal midline, is densely covered with flimsily attached scales, being small and circular towards the front and larger and more rectangular towards the back.
Pseudanthis ignitus has a moderately elongate, compressed body with an oblique, moderately large mouth which, in males, has a swollen upper lip which can be moved up and down and with the maxillia reaching to the level of the rear margin of the eye. The lateral line is smoothly curved and runs parallel to the dorsal profile. The dorsal fin has 10 spines and 16-17 soft rays while the anal fin has 3 spines and 7 soft rays. The head and body of males are orange, reddening towards the back and tinged with lavender towards the belly and abdomen.
In the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham on 16 March, Intersky Falcon started the 8/1 third favourite behind Rooster Booster (11/8) and Rigamarole (4/1). He was towards the back of the field at the third last hurdle but stayed on well to finish third behind Hardy Eustace and Rooster Booster. In the Aintree Hurdle a month later he finished fourth behind Rhinestone Cowboy, Rooster Booster and Westender, beaten le than two lengths by the winner. On his final appearance of the season he finished fifth behind Hasty Prince (also trained by O'Neill) in the Concept Hurdle at Sandown on 23 April.
If the vessel has two or more headsails, the term cutter may be used, especially if the mast is stepped further towards the back of the boat. The name originates from the Dutch sloep, which is related to the Old English slūpan, to glide. In naval terminology, "sloop-of-war" refers to the purpose of the craft, rather than to the specific size or sail-plan, and thus a sloop should not be confused with a sloop-of-war. After the cat rig which has only a single sail, the Bermuda rig is the simplest sailing rig configurations.
However, after hearing of a possible coup d'état at his capital in Kandahar, Abdali arranges for a truce with Sadashiv but scraps it after the latter doesn't agree with to terms Abdali presents him. After both sides decide strategies and formations, they prepare for the final confrontation. Parvati Bai and the civilians and pilgrims stay at a small camp towards the back, and Vishwas promises Sadashiv that he'll never get off his elephant during the battle for his own protection. Artillery firing begins by both sides, with substantial damage done to Abdali's army due to Ibrahim Khan's leadership.
The 27 ft lugger Sussex Maid, inside the museum, represents a 1920s Brighton beach fishing boat with an auxiliary motor. Towards the back of the arch are areas devoted to the history of Brighton's lifeboats, pleasure boats and fish market. The Brighton Fish Market was originally held on the beach but a new purpose-built fish market was provided in arches to the east of the museum in 1867. Fish were landed at Brighton by boats from all around the south east coast of England and also brought in by rail from as far afield as Cornwall.
NPC may present as a lump or a mass on both sides towards the back of the neck. These lumps usually are not tender or painful but appear as a result of the metastatic spread of the cancer to the lymph nodes, thus causing the lymph nodes to swell. Lymph nodes are defined as glands that function as part of the immune system and can be found throughout the body. Swelling of the lymph nodes in the neck is the initial presentation in many people, and the diagnosis of NPC is often made by lymph node biopsy.
The Sugar Bowl Lodge shortly after it was built in 1939Construction of the Sugar Bowl lodge and the first chairlift installed in California, began during the summer of 1939. The lodge was designed by William Wurster and was erected with a sloping roof, so that snow would slide off towards the back side. The chairlift was designed by Henry Howard and built by the Riblet Tramway Company. Moore Dry Dock Company was hired to install the 13 towers, which were included in Howard's design, to span the 1,000 vertical feet up to the top of Mt. Disney.
As a three- year-old Pennekamp was trained for the British Classic Races and prepared for a meeting with Celtic Swing in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket by winning the Listed Prix Djebel at Évry on 15 April. A week later Celtic Swing maintained his unbeaten record in the Greenham Stakes. At Newmarket on 6 May, Pennekamp started at odds of 9/2 for the Guineas, with Celtic Swing being made the 4/5 favourite. As in the Dewhurst Stakes, Jarnet held Pennekamp towards the back of the field before making his challenge in the last quarter mile.
Bassano's earliest paintings exhibit his lifelong obsession with brilliant colors that he had seen in Titian's beginning works, particularly in Bassano's Supper at Emmaus (1538). In this commission for a local church, Bassano fills the canvas with rich, luminous colors that help the distinguish the figures from their surrounding environment. He breaks away from the practices of his contemporaries by placing the figure of Christ towards the back of the scene and allowing the lay-people around him to play a more significant part in the composition of the piece. They are also unique in their dress.
Thunder Canyon is located towards the back of the park. It can be found along the back path leading to Wildwater Kingdom while the ride itself is placed on four acres of land within the track of the Cedar Creek Cannonball. The attraction is 1,640 feet long, uses 200 horsepower pumps to generate the river using one million gallons of water at a rate of 112,000 gallons per minute, and was designed by Barr Engineering for the cost of $3.8 Million. This ride is unique compared to other rides of the same type for a few reasons.
Inglis, p. 236 The architects of the new stand, Mather and Nutter (now Atherden Fuller), rearranged the organisation of the stand to have terracing at the front, a larger seated area towards the back, and the first private boxes at a British football ground. The east stand – the only remaining uncovered stand – was developed in the same style in 1973.Inglis, p. 237 With the first two stands converted to cantilevers, the club's owners devised a long-term plan to do the same to the other two stands and convert the stadium into a bowl-like arena.
Texas Red recorded his first success in a maiden race at Del Mar on August 21 in which he started 3/1 second favorite behind Battle of Evermore. After racing towards the back of the field in the early stages, he moved up to second approaching the final turn. He overtook the leader, Secreto Primero, inside the final furlong and won by one and a half lengths. Texas Red was then moved up sharply in class to contest the Grade I FrontRunner Stakes over one and one sixteenth miles at Santa Anita Park on September 27.
Washdown bowls developed from earlier "hopper" closets, which were simple conical bowls connected to a drain. However, waste is typically excreted towards the back of the toilet, rather than the exact center, and the backs of the hoppers were prone to becoming soiled. The modern washdown bowl has a steeply sloping back and a more gently sloping or curving front, so the water trap is off-center, towards the rear of the toilet. With this "eccentric cone" design, most waste drops into the pool of water at the base of the bowl, rather than onto the surface of the toilet.
Sent off as the bettors' heavy favorite, Cavalcade was towards the back of the field before moving into contention behind Discovery and the filly Mata Hari on the final turn. He took the lead in the straight and drew away to win the race by more than three lengths over Discovery with Time Clock a disappointing seventh. After Time Clock's poor showing, his handlers replaced him in the Preakness Stakes with the third stablemate, High Quest, who had won April's Wood Memorial. High Quest won the Preakness, beating Cavalcade by a nose with Discovery in third place.
Kedington is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England, located between the towns of Clare and Haverhill in the south-west of Suffolk. Known as Kidituna in the Domesday Book (1086), there were 280 people living there at that time. Kedington's church, St Peter and St Paul, is one of the historical treasures of East Anglia, dating from the late 13th century. However, the church is built on top of a Roman villa, the remains of which can be viewed under small trap doors located in the pews towards the back of the nave.
The middle row is oriented obliquely with respect to the length axis of the tooth, so that it converges with the lingual row towards the back of the tooth. The front lingual corner of the tooth is missing, but it appears that the first cusps in the lingual and middle rows are connected by two ridges, one at the front margin of the tooth and one at the back of the cusps. A deep fossa (basin) lies between the two cusps and their connecting ridges. Behind these two cusps, a transverse furrow extends across the width of the tooth.
The rebuilding seems to have been carried out in two stages, though without a long gap between them. There is a straight joint in the brickwork to the left of the second pilaster on the north side. In front of this the bricks are laid in English bond, but Flemish bond is used towards the back, indicating that this part was built a little later. The Manor House (then Brook House) in the 1840s from Lipscomb's History of the County of Buckingham (1847) The house is built of red brick with two storeys and an attic.
This short, compact petrel ranges from 19-22 cm (7.4-8.7 in) in length, and weighs anywhere between 5-6 oz (males are typically heavier than females). The head of P. magellani is black, bordered by a contrasting white that leads into a distinctive white crescent extending up towards the back of the neck . The rest of the body follows a strong penguin-like black above, white below scheme, with some white streaks around the sides of the nape and on the scapulars. They also have some blackish-grey mottling on the flank region and sometimes on the sides of the breast.
Massa leading Fernando Alonso at the 2015 Canadian Grand Prix Massa's season started strongly, with a fourth-place finish in Australia. After some further strong results in Malaysia and China, Massa had troubles in the next stage of the season. He suffered from mechanical issues both on the grid in Bahrain and in qualifying in Canada, meaning he had to fight from towards the back on each occasion, albeit eventually finishing both races in the points. In Austria, Massa took his first podium of the year, a third-place finish, taking advantage of a delayed pitstop for Vettel.
Toulon's Chester win saw him regarded as a major contender for the Derby, and Epsom on 5 June, he started 4/1 joint favourite for the race against twelve opponents. He was towards the back of the field from the start and never challenged the leaders, finishing ninth behind Generous. In July, Toulon returned to France to race against older horses in the Prix Maurice de Nieuil at Maisons-Laffitte Racecourse. Toulon took the lead 200m from the finish and went clear of his opponents before being eased down in the final strides to win by two lengths from the Irish four-year-old Topanoora.
During preview screenings, the crew noticed that some viewers would move towards the back of the theater so as not to be too close to the screen during the sequence. The scene has frequently been called one of the most memorable moments in cinema history. In 2007, Empire named it as the greatest 18-rated moment in film, ranking it above the decapitation scene in The Omen (1976) and the transformation sequence in An American Werewolf in London (1981). For the scene in which Ash is revealed to be an android, a puppet was created of the character's torso and upper body, which was operated from underneath.
The breeches atoned for unchastity, as says, "And you shall make them linen breeches to cover the flesh of their nakedness." The miter atoned for arrogance, as says, "And you shall set the miter on his head." Some said that the girdle atoned for the crooked in heart, and others said for thieves. Rabbi Levi said that the girdle was 32 cubits long (about 48 feet), and that the priest wound it towards the front and towards the back, and this was the ground for saying that it was to atone for the crooked in heart (as the numerical value of the Hebrew word for heart is 32).
On his return to England he finished second by three-quarters of a length to Electric in the Great Voltigeur Stakes, with Touching Wood seven lengths back in third place. On 9 September at Doncaster Racecourse Diamond Shoal started at odds of 9/1 for the St Leger Stakes. He was held up towards the back of the field by John Matthias before switching to the outside to make a challenge in the straight. He reached third place a furlong and a half from the finish but could make no further progress and was beaten one and a half lengths and two and a half lengths by Touching Wood and Zilos.
Born and raised in Osaka, Takagi came through the youth ranks at Gamba Osaka and joined the senior squad for the first time in 2014 at the age of 17. He made his debut on 16 April 2014 in a 2-0 J.League Cup victory away to Sagan Tosu. He started the game and was replaced by Akihiro Sato after 71 minutes. He didn't play at all in 2015 or 2016 before finding himself in Gamba's starting line up towards the back end of the 2017 season where he played a total of 7 league matches and 2 AFC Champions League games without getting his name on the scoresheet.
In an interview on NPR's Fresh Air, Fischer recalled the last stages of the audition process for Pam and Jim, with the producers partnering the different potential Pams and Jims (four of each) together to gauge their chemistry. When Fischer finished her scene with Krasinski, he told her that she was his favorite Pam, to which she reciprocated that he was her favorite Jim. Many actors originally filmed as extras in this episode would go on to become supporting cast members in later episodes, and the two women wearing blue sweaters towards the back of the room at the staff meeting scene were actual accountants that worked on the production staff.
In 1986, the LeSabre was introduced on the new front wheel drive H platform, after departing from rear wheel drive on the GM B platform. Joining the LeSabre on the H-body included the Oldsmobile Delta 88. One of the most striking features of the new LeSabre was the hood was hinged towards the front instead of towards the back near the cowl and windshield in the same fashion as that of the Buick Electra and Chevrolet Corvette of that era. The all new styling and implementation of front wheel drive ushered in a new era for the LeSabre, being of a flush aerodynamic design.
The device incorporates a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600, an ARMv7 SoC, with 2 GB of RAM. The chip provides support for LTE networks where they are available. Most HTC One models come with either 32 or 64 GB of internal, non- expandable storage—unlike the international model, the Chinese and Japanese models include a microSD slot and a removable back cover. Its internal components are arranged in a pyramid-like layout similar to HTC Butterfly and HTC Windows Phone 8X with larger components (such as the screen and battery) positioned towards the front and smaller components (such as the motherboard) positioned towards the back.
Opened in 1962, Sandown Raceway has traditionally been known as the host of endurance races, the first of which was held in 1964, an event which later evolved into the Sandown 500 event. As well as this, Sandown has a long history of hosting sprint rounds of the championship with the circuit hosting the most rounds in championship history. Sandown held its first championship sprint round in 1965, as the only event of the 1965 Australian Touring Car Championship. The race was won by Norm Beechey, who won by over a lap despite starting from towards the back of the grid after mechanical problems in qualifying.
However, unlike the Pennsylvania K4, the firebox was not of the flat-topped Belpaire variety, but a round-topped one that was in line with Great Northern tradition. Features in common with the American types were the downward profile towards the back of the firebox and the boiler tapering towards the front. Heat transfer and the flow of gases were helped by use of a combustion chamber extending forward from the firebox space into the boiler barrel, along with a boiler tube length limited to , features inherited from the K4 type but not present on the earlier Cole Prototypes. The boiler pressure was rated at .
Talent, who was drawn in stall 3, raced towards the back of the field and turned into the straight in ninth place. Hughes struggled to obtain a clear run in the straight before producing the filly with a strong run on the outside. Talent overtook Secret Gesture inside the final furlong and quickly drew clear to win by three and three quarter lengths. Hughes, who was winning his second successive classic following the win of Sky Lantern in the 1000 Guineas explained that he had planned to make the running on Talent, but changed his tactics just before the start, when he realised that several other jockeys had the same idea.
Da Vinci, formerly located in a ring of portables towards the back of the Davis Senior High School campus, moved to the vacant Valley Oak elementary campus in the 09-10 school year. Three buildings in the front of the campus have been allocated to a special education preschool, while (roughly) seven buildings of varying size were given to the High School. The campus has kept the murals made by former Valley Oak graduates. In addition, each year, the graduating senior class creates a mural in a new area of the school together, with each student in the grade adding their name to it.
The neural spines of the neck vertebrae appear to have been low, and almost semi-circular by the 20th vertebra. The facets where the neck ribs articulated with the neck vertebrae were placed on the lower sides of the centra, but were only placed higher in the last three vertebrae, reaching around the middle of the sides. The neck ribs were semicircular to quadratic in side view, and were directed rather straight down. The bottom of each neck vertebrae had pairs of nutritive foramina (openings) at the middle, separated by a ridge, which became progressively more prominent and thickened towards the back of the neck.
Towards the back of the mouth, there were the multi-pronged pterygoid bones on each side of the skull. Each pterygoid had several branches, including the posterior branch which stretches back and to the side of the skull, the short medial branch which extends inwards and connects to the parasphenoid bone, an ascending branch which projects upwards to form the otic notch, and finally the anterior branch which extends forward along the palatine and ectopterygoid. The pterygoids of most rhinesuchids have very long anterior branches. In most members of this family, the anterior branch reaches as far forward as the vomers, although Australerpeton has relatively short anterior branches.
Ratneshwar Mahadev Mandir (Hindi: रत्नेश्वर महादेव मंदिर) (also known as Matri-rin Mahadev,or Leaning temple of Varanasi) is one of the most photographed temples in the holy city of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, India. The temple, while apparently well-preserved, leans significantly towards the back side (north-west), and its garbhagriha is generally below the water much of the year, except for a few months during the summer.पीसा की मीनार की तरह झुका हुआ है ये मंदिर, आज तक नहीं खुल पाया रहस्य dainikbhaskar.com, 14 September 2015 There exists a temple by the same name in Karachi situated at the seaside of Clifton in natural cave.
On 27 August, Simply Perfect was sent to Ireland and moved up to Group One class for the Moyglare Stud Stakes over seven furlongs at the Curragh. She started the 4/1 second favourite, but finished seventh, after failing to obtain a clear run in the closing stages. On 9 September, Simply Perfect was moved up in distance for the Group Three May Hill Stakes over one mile at York Racecourse (the race's usual venue, Doncaster Racecourse was closed for redevelopment). Ridden for the first time by Darryll Holland, she was held up towards the back of the eight runner field before making progress in the straight.
Loose soil is kicked out of the depression, and the female may frequently urinate into the depression. Once it reaches about two feet (60 cm) in diameter and 3-6 in (7–14 cm) deep, a further depression, measuring some eight inches (20 cm) across and in depth, will be dug out towards the back of the original depression. The work of digging the nest may take up to five hours; the speed with which it is dug seems to be dependent upon the relative hardness of the ground. It usually takes place when the ambient air temperature is at least 78 °F (27 °C).
However, a 15-game winless run left them languishing in the relegation zone, and they failed to recover. Jazeera ended their two-year stint in the top flight with a poor showing, losing 20 of their 30 games, and despite a decent run of form towards the back end of the season, it was too little too late. Wahda were rooted to the bottom of the table for the whole season, and did not win a game until a 2–1 away victory at Al Shat in mid-May. Their return of 11 points from 30 games one of the worst in Libyan history.
Sheriff's Star made his debut as a three-year-old in the Predominate Stakes (a recognised trial race for The Derby) over ten furlongs at Goodwood Racecourse. He was restrained towards the back of the seven runner field before making steady progress in the straight to finish second, beaten one and a half lengths by Minster Son. On 1 June, the colt started at odds of 18/1 in field of fourteen runners for the 209th running of the Derby and finished sixth behind Kahyasi. Two week later, Sheriff's Star was sent to Royal Ascot to contest the King Edward VII Stakes and started the 9/2 third favourite.
His next appearance for the club saw him make his FA Cup debut under new manager Jürgen Klopp on 8 January 2016 when he came on as a substitute in a third round match against Exeter City. Liverpool ultimately progressed in the Cup which afforded Chirivella the opportunity to make his first start for the club on 9 February 2016 in a 2–1 defeat against West Ham United in the fourth round replay. Chirivella then signed a new contract with Liverpool on 9 March before making his Premier League debut towards the back end of the season, starting in a 3–1 loss against Swansea City on 1 May.
After Christmas Harris was part of a stronger international field for the South African Grand Prix which would decide the 1962 World Championship. In the first practice session on Boxing Day he suffered an engine failure and he missed the following day's practice while he made repairs. During the final practice session on the third day, he suffered with the same issues again and posted the 15th fastest time, with only Carel Godin de Beaufort having a slower time. Having rebuilt the engine again before the race, Harris circulated towards the back of the field, running ahead of de Beaufort and Bruce Johnstone, and subsequently other drivers whose cars suffered problems.
In the King George, ridden as usual by Hanagan, Taghrooda started the 7/2 second favourite behind Telescope in an eight-runner field which included Magician, Mukhadram and Trading Leather as well as her stable companions Eagle Top (King Edward VII Stakes) and Romsdal (third in The Derby). Hanagan restrained the filly towards the back of the field in the early stages, as Leitir Mor set a fast pace. She made steady progress approaching the final turn and made her challenge on the outside in the straight. Inside the final furlong Taghrooda overtook Telescope and Mukhadram, who had been battling for the lead, and accelerated clear to win by three lengths.
Hunt continued his bench role for the start of the 2013 NRL season as the Broncos made a shaky start. He got his first opportunity in his preferred halfback role in the round 9 clash against the Parramatta Eels, as Scott Prince suffered an injury in the opening minutes of the game. On 14 May, Hunt signed a new two-year deal with the Broncos. Towards the back end of the season, Hunt secured the halfback position after Peter Wallace was benched and Corey Norman was dumped to the Queensland Cup for the rest of the year, scoring a try in his first game.
Celebrating their 30th year of existence in 1937, Easts completed their second premiership treble by finishing minor premiers in a shortened season due to a Kangaroo Tour, which saw them automatically handed the premiership after finishing the eight game season with 6 wins and two draws. All up, Easts had a 35-game undefeated streak during this time, 11 head of their closest rival (Balmain - 24 games undefeated between 1914 & 1916). Feeling the strain of representative commitments having supplied eight players for the Kangaroo Tour, it would only be towards the back end of the 1938 season that Easts would show shades of their previous winning formula.
As far as elementary education, an older school which educated the majority of the town citizens named Revolución was recently torn down to be replaced by a well needed three story building with modern amenities and computer labs. Unfortunately, the construction process of the building was not inspected properly resulting with the front entrance on the building towards the back, and vice versa. The elementary school hosts grades 1st through 6th (in Mexico elementary does not end on 5th grade as it is in the U.S., but 6th grade). A Jr. High is also available in town, although farther from the heart of the town, it hosts grades 7th-9th.
View towards the Back to Back (Brook Street) houses at the Black Country Living Museum The museum is close to the site where Dud Dudley first mastered the technique of smelting iron with coal instead of wood charcoal and making iron enough for industrial use. Having a claim to be "the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution", the Black Country is famous for its wide range of midsteel-based products from nails to the anchor and anchor chain for the Titanic. The site's coal mining heritage is shown by an underground drift and colliery surface buildings. The museum has a working replica of a Newcomen atmospheric engine.
Despite such a rough start to his American campaign Catire Bello would try again with a run in the Tropical Park Derby. Despite breaking better this time he simply didn't have it in him a higher dose of Lasix and fast fractions led to an even bigger dud then seen in the Florida Derby finishing 9th and only managing to defeat 1 horse in the race. His final bid to make it into the Kentucky Derby would be the Derby Trial. Like in the Florida Derby he would not go to the lead and stay towards the back running past tired horses to finish 4th by over 11 lengths.
The baroque building proved too small to accommodate the congregations of up to 1,500 coming to mass here (a first expansion project had already been designed by Louis Montoyer in 1789 shortly before the Revolution). Having for a moment thought of demolishing the chapel anew and rebuilding a church at Mont-Saint- Jean, the idea of expansion resurfaced and was felt to be an easier option, since the town had access to sufficient land to do so. After some time raising gifts and subsidies, the works were completed in 1823 and 1824. A brick hall with a slate roof extended the dome towards the back.
He finished with an unbeaten 141 in the Third Test at the SCG, the culmination of another Australian whitewash.Richardson (2002), p. 100–101. Ponting was the leading scorer for the series, compiling 375 runs at 125.00. He brought this form into the initial stages of the following 1999–2000 Carlton United ODI series, hitting 32 and 115, before three consecutive ducks. Ponting, however, ended the rut towards the back end of the series, stringing together 53, 43, 33, 50 and 78, as Australia won the tournament. Along with his impressive average of 40.4, Ponting's strike rate (87.06) was the highest of all recognised Australian batsmen.
The ground, which had been good when Troy had won the Derby earlier in the week had become very soft after three days of heavy rain. Ridden by Pat Eddery, Scintillate was towards the back of the field in the early stages but was always going well, in contrast to several of the fancied horses, who were clearly struggling to cope with the conditions. She moved alongside the leaders in the final quarter mile and took a clear advantage inside the final furlong. She was never in danger of defeat and won very easily by three lengths from Bonnie Isle with Britannia's Rule a length away in third.
The majority of the cover is a picture of a Viking-like ship sailing in the foreground and towards the back, dozens of docked, burning ships. Beyond them a line of flame-assaulted buildings can be seen. This is a portrayal of one of the final scenes in the story, in which the villain Thorne has set the docks of England ablaze. While most versions of the book have a picture of a skull with two hammers crossed behind it (as well as a raven and an hourglass above each hammer) many online pictures show instead two crossed swords, creating the symbol seen on the cover of Isle of Swords.
Though chasmosaurines have traditionally been considered the "long-frilled" ceratopsids, Kosmoceratops had the shortest frill relative to its width among chasmosaurines and the smallest parietal fenestrae relative to the total area of the frill of any ceratopsid. The squamosal bones of Kosmoceratops were strongly curved in side view, and their side margins were parallel in top view. The parietal bones did not project past the squamosals and had V-shaped hind margins, with emargination (a series of notches) spanning their entire width. Diagram showing the skull from above and the left side The epiossifications on the squamosal bones of Kosmoceratops became progressively larger towards the back of the neck frill.
The bottom of the work may be slightly trimmed. There is a small amount of retouching, especially towards the back of the head; art historian Frank Zöllner notes that the retouching caused somewhat unsuccessful shading of the neck and left side of the lips. It is reminiscent of his later portraits Lady with an Ermine and La Belle Ferronnière, from their shared black background, while also differing in both the body and head facing the same direction. As a result of being uncompleted, author Walter Isaacson notes that the shadows are too harsh and the amount of thin oil layers is less than typical Leonardo paintings.
Dentary sclerites located next to the mandible are pointed down, and are lightly pigmented towards the back of the fly. Small sclerites are present between the mandibular ones, and an additional sclerite is found on the posterior end near the hypostome (a structure found near the mouth which allows an animal to anchor itself firmly on another to suck, as in the tick's hypostome). The third instar stage is 4.10–9.42 mm long and 0.76–2.13 mm wide. The integument is translucent, the body's overall shape comes to resemble a mix between a cone, and cylinder (with the front end of the insect becoming more pointed).
The work spaces of the building are organized towards the back of the building with the separation of four different sized rooms to accommodate for the size of the work teams and assembly. These open work spaces are naturally ventilated and also receive North light and look out onto a view of the landscape. The faceted North wall takes advantage of the site slope so that the interior does not appear confined but rather relates more closely to the landscape setting in which it is placed. The current Connections facilities at Narre Warren is located in a collection of pre-existing school buildings scattered throughout the site.
Although never seriously pressured, his time of 1:21.12 was less than two-fifths of a second off the track record for seven furlongs. Drefong trained up to the Breeders' Cup Sprint, held on November 4 at Del Mar – the same track as his disastrous run in the Bing Crosby. He was made the 3-2 favorite in a very deep field that also included Roy H (Santa Anita Sprint Championship), Imperial Hint (Smile Sprint), Mind Your Biscuits (Belmont Sprint) and Takaful (Vosburgh). Drefong broke poorly and settled towards the back of the field, then angled out at the top of the stretch and tried to make a run.
As Cook turned his back to help launch the boats, he was struck on the head by the villagers and then stabbed to death as he fell on his face in the surf. He was first struck on the head with a club by a chief named Kalaimanokahoʻowaha or Kanaʻina (namesake of Charles Kana'ina) and then stabbed by one of the king's attendants, Nuaa. The Hawaiians carried his body away towards the back of the town, still visible to the ship through their spyglass. Four marines, Corporal James Thomas, Private Theophilus Hinks, Private Thomas Fatchett and Private John Allen, were also killed and two others were wounded in the confrontation.
The Spaulding Farm property consists of of land on the east side of South Hill Road, roughly midway between Godfrey Road and South Hill Cross Road. The roughly rectangular parcel is lined on its north by a stone wall, and most of its southern edge by fencing, and consists mostly of lands used for pasture and haymaking, with some woodlands towards the back of the property. The farmstead is clustered near the western end of the property, with the house set about back from the road. It is a handsome 2-1/2 story wood frame structure, oriented with its main facade to the south and an ell extending to the north.
The lower jaw did not have a coronoid process or a supradentary bone, the lack of which is a common feature of beaked theropods (ornithomimosaurs, oviraptorosaurs, therizinosaurs and birds), but unusual among theropods in general. The jaws of Gallimimus were edentulous (toothless), and the front part would have been covered in a keratinous rhamphotheca (horny beak) in life. The beak may have covered a smaller area than in North American relatives, based on the lack of nourishing foramina on the maxilla. The inner side of the beak had small, tightly packed and evenly spaced columnar structures (their exact nature is debated), which were longest at the front and shortening towards the back.
The abdomen is segmented, like that of a mesothele spider. However, unlike spiders, there are several short cylindrical segments at the back from which a long segmented tail (or flagellum) emerges. The abdomen also bears spinnerets on the underside, and these are especially interesting given that it was widely assumed that spiders should initially have had four pairs in the middle of the underside as in modern mesothele spiders. By contrast, Chimerarachne has two pairs of quite well developed spinnerets towards the back of the abdomen which are similar in shape to those of mesotheles and which are probably equivalent to the anterior lateral spinnerets (ALS) and posterior lateral spinnerets (PLS) of modern spiders.
On his first racecourse appearance, Telescope, ridden by Richard Mullen, started the 4/1 favourite for a seventeen-runner maiden race over seven furlongs at Ascot Racecourse. He was restrained towards the back of the field before making progress in the final quarter mile but was beaten a short head by Snow King after Mullen dropped his whip 50 yards from the finish. Nineteen days later he started 8/13 favourite against eight opponents in a maiden race over the Rowley mile at Newmarket in which he was ridden by Richard Hughes. As on his debut, he pulled hard against his jockey's attempts to restrain him before moving up to take the lead a furlong from the finish.
In the 2014 Kentucky Derby, Wicked Strong, the 6.5/1 second favorite, drew number 20 post position, on the far outside of the field. Jerkens admitted that the draw was disadvantageous and commented that "my dad was bummed about it" but also said that "at least he won't have anybody from the outside banging him in there". After stumbling on leaving the gate Wicked Strong was forced five wide on the first turn and was towards the back of the field for most of the way. He was in tenth place with a quarter mile left to run but made steady progress to finish fourth behind California Chrome, Commanding Curve and Danza.
Shortly after the start, most of the fillies moved to the stands side of the wide Newmarket straight (the left side of the course from the jockey's point of view) and Hector's Girl set the pace from Khulood. Other horses racing prominently in the early stages were Yesterday, Casual Look, Summitville, Duty Paid, L'Ancresse, Mezzo Soprano and Gonfilia whilst most of the leading fancies were restrained towards the back of the field. Gonfilia moved into the lead approaching the final quarter-mile at which point there was a good deal of bunching and scrimmaging, with several runners being badly hampered. Thulliez was forced to switch the favourite Six Perfections to the wide outside.
As part of the Godolphin team, Blue Bunting spent the winter being prepared in Dubai before being returned to Newmarket in spring. As both her breeding and style of racing suggested that she would be most effective at middle distances, and she was not among the leading fancies for the 1000 Guineas, which was run over the Rowley Mile course at Newmarket on 1 May. The French-trained filly Moonlight Cloud was made 9/2 favourite in a field of eighteen runners, with Blue Bunting, ridden by Frankie Dettori starting at 16/1. Blue Bunting looked outpaced in the early stages and was towards the back of the field until half way.
The antorbital notches, which are usually slit-like notches on the sides of the skull right before the snout, were inside the basin. A slanting crest on the temporal fossa directed towards the back of the skull separated the snout from the rest of the skull, and was defined by a groove starting at the antorbital processes on the cheekbones. The basin had two foramina in the front, as opposed to the modern sperm whale which has one foramen on the maxilla, and to the modern dwarf and pygmy sperm whales which have several in the basin. The suture in the basin between the maxilla and the forehead had an interlocking pattern.
The start of the 2010 season saw Cronulla return confident of turning around recent disappointing results, however on-field performance remained poor. After the board developed a plan to refinance debt and a long term financial strategy, Richard Fisk resigned in June 2010 due to his failure to find common ground with Chairman Irvine and his Board and a failure by Fisk to refresh the commercial area of the club. The club's head coach, Ricky Stuart, also tendered his resignation and was replaced towards the back end of the season by his then-assistant coach Shane Flanagan. Promising wing/centre Blake Ferguson was criticised for comments about wanting to leave the club in order to achieve success.
Take produced the colt with a strong late run on the outside to take the lead in the final strides and win by half a length from Epiphaneia in a time of 2:24.6. Kizuna was sent to Europe in the autumn of 2013 to be prepared for a run the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. On 15 September he contested the Prix Niel at Longchamp Racecourse in Paris where he faced a strong field of European colts including The Derby winner Ruler of the World and the Grand Prix de Paris winner Flintshire. Take restrained the colt towards the back of the field before making his challenge on the outside in the straight.
The two-piece windshield of the original Orion VII has the driver's windshield canted towards the back of the bus to reduce reflections; the second and third generations also had a two-piece windshield, but both panes are curved similarly and collectively resemble a single piece. Externally, the three generations may also be distinguished by the position of the top of the doors. In the original Orion VII, the top of both the front and rear doors is at the same level as the top of the side windows. In the Orion VII Next Generation (VIING), the top of the front door is at the level as the bottom of the standee windows.
Reconstructed skeleton of the related genus Spinosaurus, National Geographic Museum, Washington, D.C. On the bottoms of its cervical vertebrae, Sigilmassasaurus bore a series of highly rugged bony structures. These were suggested by Evers and colleagues as being possible evidence for substantial neck musculature, since the attachment sites of muscles and ligaments are often indicated by scarring on the bone surface. The neck muscles inferred from Sigilmassasaurus in particular would have enabled it to rapidly snatch fish out of the water, as indicated by the use of similarly- placed musculature in modern birds and crocodilians. This has also been proposed for the related genus Irritator, on account of the prominent sagittal crest running towards the back of its head.
Investment banker Edward Francis Hutton began development of the private, Seminole Golf Club in 1929 on land previously owned by Harry Kelsey. The site chosen for the course featured a number of sand dune ridges that were carefully brought into play with some fairways directed towards elevated green sites while others drop down from sandy peaks to flatter terrain. Both nines set out from the clubhouse on level ground before veering into the 40-foot dune ridge that runs alongside the western edge of the property. The greens at Seminole are the main line of defense for the course and many of them are cleverly angled, narrowing towards the back which makes rear pin positions extremely tough.
At the centre of the rear wall of the mandapa, opposite to the entrance, guardian figures are carved on either side of a shrine. Inside the mandapa, the walls have four large sculptured panels, good examples of naturalistic Pallava art. The side walls have carved sculpture panels of Vishnu as Trivikrama (Vamana) and northern panel, which is very large, depicts Vishnu in the form of Varaha, the boar, lifting Bhudevi, the earth goddess symbolically representing removal of ignorance of human beings. In this panel, Varaha has four hands, two arms carrying shankha and chakra, which are shown towards the back and in one of the arms in the front he is carrying Bhudevi.

In several races he achieved high placings despite qualifying towards the back of the grid. At the first ever Detroit Grand Prix in , he overtook three cars in one lap deep into the race on a tight, twisty track that was difficult to pass on; working his way from 17th starting position on the grid, he charged through the field and scored a victory in the process.Winner's Circle United States Grand Prix, John Blakemore Photograph Collection, Revs Institute, Revs Digital Library. Watson went into the final race of the season at Caesars Palace in with an outside chance of the title, but he was to finish five points adrift of Keke Rosberg and level on points with Didier Pironi.
As in the Satsuki Shō, the colt came from last place before he "cruised" to victory, although the competition was less strong than anticipated following the late withdrawal of Deep Brillante, who had sustained a tendon injury. Gold Ship was one of sixteen horses to be invited to contest the all-aged Arima Kinen at Nakayama on 23 December. He was towards the back of the field before moving up on the wide outside on the approach to the straight. In the closing stages, he overtook the leaders and won by one and a half lengths from Ocean Blue, with Uchida standing up in the irons and saluting the crowd as he crossed the line.
There is a small bar on the tip of the lower lobe. The width of biggest lower caudal-fin lobe bar and/or the space between outermost bars is less than the diameter of the orbit. They doi not have any flank stripes and the tip of first dorsal-fin is dark, The barbels are white as is the belly while the flanks are rose-red darkening towards the back where there is some gold iridescence along the upper flanks and a dark saddle to the rear of the second dorsal fin. The body is uniformly brown, with a little dorsal darkening, with the bars and black first dorsal- fin tip still visible in preserved fish.
Materially, the Japanese tatami room, as opposed to its western counterpart (deemed The Western Room), has no door, bed, or even wall, making it barely detectable in space. This room is typically situated towards the back of the home, close to the place dedicated to the family ancestors and opposite of the southern facade, the gardens, and the general exterior. The second half of the twentieth century saw a considerable change in the bedroom style. Almost non-existent before World War Two, The Western Room continued to gain traction in new constructions to the point where there is a clear relationship between age of a building and presence of western-style bedrooms.
This building was originally constructed as a city palace in 1858 for William Thierry, baron Van Brienen van de Groote Lindt, a personal advisor of king William III who often stayed in The Hague. The baron purchased three houses located at the Lange Voorhout and the Vos in Tuinstraat and had them demolished. One of these buildings, which was towards the back of the current building, was home to the museum dedicated to King William II. On this newly combined lot, he commission the construction of a new palace by architect Arend Roodenburg for a total sum of 150.000 guilders. The baron wanted a palace in the political capitol of The Netherlands for throwing parties and receptions.
Examples given are the 1991 Monaco Grand Prix when he held up Emanuele Pirro in the Dallara, Stefano Modena in the Tyrrell, and Riccardo Patrese in the Williams for several laps despite running towards the back of the field, and the 1995 Canadian Grand Prix where he blocked Gerhard Berger in the Ferrari when the Austrian tried to lap him. On both occasions Martini was called in for a 10-second stop and go penalty for ignoring blue flags. Quizzed about this attitude on the occasion of the 1995 San Marino Grand Prix, where he held up winner Damon Hill, Martini replied: 'What should I exactly apologise for? My trajectories are always clean.
This, and the Brabham BT54's weight distribution towards the back of the car saw the Pirelli tyres (especially the fronts) largely ineffective and left Piquet often fast, but ultimately uncompetitive. In 1985, Piquet won a single race, the French Grand Prix at the Paul Ricard Circuit with summer conditions similar to those experienced in testing suiting the tyres, and the powerful BMW turbo engine propelling the Brabham BT54 (of teammate Marc Surer) to the then F1 speed record of on the 1.8 km long Mistral Straight during qualifying. It was Pirelli's first victory since returning to Formula One. Already negotiating with other teams in mid-season because of poor results, it was widely questioned where Piquet would end up.
Dani Clos (Racing Engineering) took fourth, while Jules Bianchi was fifth for ART, taking the fastest lap along the way, with Super Nova's Marcus Ericsson, Trident's Adrian Zaugg and iSport's Oliver Turvey completing the points-scorers. ART's Sam Bird had a nightmare race, starting towards the back of the field after crashing in qualifying and then being given a drivethrough penalty for causing a collision with Giedo van der Garde while fighting the Dutch Addax driver for 10th. It was also a difficult afternoon for series returnee Romain Grosjean, who was hit from behind by Racing Engineering's Christian Vietoris and had to pit for repairs. He rejoined the race three laps down, and DAMS' misery was completed when Ho-Pin Tung retired at mid-distance.
Lemhi Gold went to the front shortly after the start and set the pace from Awaasif, Diamond Shoal, Sun Princess and Caerleon with Time Charter towards the back of the field. Diamond Shoal overtook Lemhi Gold with three furlongs left to run and led the field into the straight, at which point Caerleon began to struggle and drop back. With two furlongs left to run Diamond Shoal held a clear advantage from Awaasif and Sun Princess, with Time Charter making rapid progress on the outside. Diamond Shoal was still ahead at the furlong pole but was then overtaken by Time Charter who won by three quarters of a length with Sun Princess a length away in third ahead of Awaasif.
Different versions of Capture the Flag have different rules, both for handling the flag and for what happens to tagged players. A player who is tagged may be eliminated from the game entirely (out of the game), be forced to join the opposing team, sent back to their own territory, or be placed in "jail" with or without a guard (according to the number of people in a team). The jail is a predesignated area of the group's territory which exists for holding tagged players and is normally towards the back of the group's territory. While tagged players may be confined to jail for a limited, predetermined time, the most common form of the game involves the option for a "jailbreak".
For the Paris ePrix, Frijns started from 3rd on the grid, behind Buemi and Rowland, but when both drivers hit trouble, he took the lead and dominated in tricky conditions, mastering torrential rain and hailstones. André Lotterer closed in on Frijns, who had a damaged front wing, towards the end of the race, but the Dutch driver did enough to hold on and win the ePrix. On the cool-down lap, Frijns stopped at a marshall's post to pick up a Dutch flag, which he revealed had been pre-agreed. At the next race in Monaco, Frijns had started towards the back of the grid, but made several overtakes, most notably one on Alex Lynn at Tabac, to get him into a top 10 position.
Behind this expansion, the upper jaw had a notch bearing significantly smaller teeth, into which the also expanded tips of the dentaries (tooth bearing bones of the mandible) fit into, with a notch behind the expansion of the dentary. The maxillae (main upper jaw bones) were long and formed a low branch under the nostrils that connected to the rear of the premaxillae. The teeth at the frontmost part of the maxillae were small, becoming significantly larger soon after and then gradually decreasing in size towards the back of the jaw. left Lengthwise atop their skulls ran a thin and shallow sagittal crest that was usually tallest near or above the eyes, either becoming shorter or disappearing entirely towards the front of the head.
The building's frontage is not aligned with the street: in order to align the central axis with that of the Shanghai Exhibition Centre on the other side of West Nanjing Road (the main frontage of which in turn faces, and therefore is aligned with, Yan'an Road), the Shanghai Centre was built at an angle to West Nanjing Road. The three towers are arranged symmetrically "rising" out of the pedestal: one at the centre and towards the back, and two symmetrically to the left and right, further to the front. The three towers have similar profiles, with a memorable feature being a slight widening of the long side of each tower towards the top, giving each tower a profile reminiscent of traditional Chinese monumental stelae or towers.
The theatre's present auditorium is still basically the original from cinema times, apart from the modifications noted above. It is slightly unusual because it is a little narrower at the front (previously the screen, now the stage and orchestra pit) than it is at the rear (where the audience enters), which is why rows in the front half of the theatre have one fewer seat than those towards the back. Also, half of Row "F" is missing to allow for the Fire Exit at the side of the auditorium. For many years the theatre did not have its own licensed bar, so some of the audience would visit one of the public houses either side of the theatre before shows and during the interval.
On His Own was fifth going towards Becher's Brook for the second time, but he fell at the fence, bringing down According to Pete, who was also struck by the passing Weird Al. According to Pete incurred a fracture to his left-fore humerus and had to be euthanised. Towards the back of the field, Mon Mome, who went off at odds of 50/1 and won in 2009 at odds of 100/1, was pulled up with Postmaster. Over the second Canal Turn, Cappa Bleu and 100/1-rated In Compliance started emerging towards the front of the field, still led by Planet of Sound and Shakalakaboomboom. Over Valentine's, Neptune Collonges and Sunnyhillboy also began making notable progress, drawing close to Seabass and Hello Bud.
The possibility of folding down the backrest, and then folding the entire seat forwards, has not been changed. Once the seats have been folded over and forwards in this way, they can be removed by means of a simple release function. Differences compared to the VarioFlex system used in the Roomster: the cushion of the middle seat has been repositioned so that it is 70 mm (2.76 in) more towards the back compared to the outer seat cushions (in the Roomster it is level); the cushion of the middle seat is approximately 35 mm longer than the cushion in the Roomster; after the middle seat is removed, the outer seats can be moved towards the centre by 80 mm (in the Roomster by 110 mm / 4.33 in).
Originally built as two separate single storey semi-detached houses, it consisted of a timber-frame in-filled with brick, a brick chimney and a thatched roof. Later, expansion work added a second storey and the thatched roof was replaced with plain tiles. The building faces west towards the road and at the front on the left-hand side there are two original large timber-framed gabled roof dormers with casement windows, on the right there are two more however these are brick additions with applied timber- framing. On the north side, there is a half-hipped timber-framed gable end that leans inwards, and a raking dormer with two more small casement windows located towards the back of the building.
A large east-west summer beam, added in the 1970s, suggests the approximate location of an original partition in the west room that would have both supported the light beams and divided the room into a two-thirds/one-third configuration, with the larger space, inside the door, serving as the kitchen. The smaller room towards the back of the building was the location of an enclosed stair to the second floor. The space to the east, now a kitchen, laundry and bath, would probably also have been divided into two spaces, and a second chimney may have been located on the east wall of the original house. The latter chimney would have been removed when the east section was added.
The second message, written in the margins of that same sheet of paper, was much more ominous. Dated 25 April 1848, it reported that Erebus and Terror had been trapped in the ice for a year and a half and that the crew had abandoned the ships on 22 April. Twenty- four officers and crew had died, including Franklin on 11 June 1847, just two weeks after the date of the first note. Crozier was commanding the expedition, and the 105 survivors planned to start out the next day, heading south towards the Back River. This note contains significant errors; most notably, the date of the expedition's winter camp at Beechey Island is incorrectly given as 1846–47 rather than 1845–46.
Drawing a bow, from a 1908 archery manual Using bow and arrow from horseback (japan in 11th century) A bow consists of a semi- rigid but elastic arc with a high-tensile bowstring joining the ends of the two limbs of the bow. An arrow is a projectile with a pointed tip and a long shaft with stabilizer fins (fletching) towards the back, with a narrow notch (nock) at the very end to contact the bowstring. To load an arrow for shooting (nocking an arrow), the archer places an arrow across the middle of the bow with the bowstring in the arrow's nock. To shoot, the archer pulls back (draws) the arrow and the bowstring, which in turn flexes the bow limbs, storing elastic energy.
For the Belgian rounds, Leclerc again took pole and won the race by a convincing margin of over 20 seconds, however his win was disqualified as one of his skidblocks was excessively worn. Having to start in 19th place, Leclerc managed to go back up to 5th place and finish 3.8 seconds behind the race winner, Sérgio Sette Câmara. Leclerc at the 2017 Formula 2 race at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy For the Italian feature race, Leclerc was battling for the lead; on the final lap, however, he was involved in an accident with De Vries. After starting towards the back of the grid for the second consecutive sprint race, Leclerc managed to fight his way back to 9th position, albeit out of the points.
The study methods followed by Cano were the basis for further investigations by José Antonio Valverde in Doñana. His work, however, reached its peak in 1971 onwards, when, in collaboration with Valverde, he created the La Hoya Nature Reserve, on a farm owned by the CSIC, located in the neighborhood of that name, towards the back of the citadel of the Almeria capital. Valverde and Cano, particularly sensitive about the little-studied situation of the North African gazelle species, such as the dorcas gazelle (Gazella dorcas neglecta) and the dama gazelle or springbok Mohor (Gazella dama), decided to undertake captive breeding, a successful pioneering act at the time. It was the Spanish Army who assisted in the capture of the species required in the Sahara Desert.
Fragment (a) for example shows groups of parallel raised lines running in correspondence "with changes of angle or direction in the modelled surface, which on the analogy of the Sutton Hoo and other rider scenes in Vendel art, strongly suggest the body of a horse." Though smaller, fragment (d) shows similar patterns and suggests a similar interpretation. Fragment (b), meanwhile, shows "two concentric raised lines two millimetres apart," and "appears to be a segment of the rim of a shield which would be of the same diameter as that held by the rider in design 2." The theory of design 3 as a replacement panel gains some support from damage towards the back of the helmet, but is contradicted by the placement of fragment (c).
It was not until October, at Paris–Bourges that the team came relatively close to another victory. Degenkolb took fourth place in a hectic that resulted in the peloton being split into several groups. The team had a bittersweet joy later that same week at Paris–Tours, as it was there that Cavendish debuted his newly won world championship rainbow jersey, in one of the few occasions he would wear it as a member of this team. With a late attack by 's Greg Van Avermaet keeping the expected bunch finish from happening, the team's best-placed man on the day was Degenkolb in 11th; Cavendish was 42nd, coming in towards the back of the first large group on the road.
Both species of Laganosuchus are known only from their lower jaws, those of L. thaumastos almost complete save for the left retroarticular process and those of L. maghrebensis only from a fragment of the dentary bone. L. thaumastos had a total jaw length of 838 mm and a jaw length from tip to articular facet of 750 mm, of which 490 mm actually bore teeth. Across the jaws, the total width of the lower jaw ranged from around 140 mm at the symphysis to 240 mm at the articular facets, widening fairly evenly all the way along. All the teeth were simple straight spikes, with the first pair the largest and the rest of the teeth decreasing in size towards the back of the mouth.
Pierluigi Martini driving for Minardi at the 1994 British Grand Prix. Luca Badoer driving for Minardi at the 1995 British Grand Prix. Gaston Mazzacane with the Minardi M02 As the number of small teams shrank, Minardi slipped from the mid-field towards the back of the grid. Money woes hit and in 1994 Minardi joined his team with BMS Scuderia Italia in an effort to survive. Giancarlo Minardi retained 14.5% with the remaining 85.5% distributed between the Scuderia Italia investors (Emilio Gnutti, Giuseppe Lucchini and Vittorio Palazzani) and Defendente Marniga. In 1994 Martini finished 5th at both the 1994 Spanish Grand Prix and 1994 French Grand Prix, while Michele Alboreto scored his last point in Formula 1 with a 6th place in the 1994 Monaco Grand Prix.
Further back, there were at least 22 teeth per upper jaw side in the maxilla, while the entire lower jaw side carried 32 teeth in the dentary bone. Closeup of front of the snout and dentition The upper jaw had a prominent kink just behind the rosette, protruding downwards; this convexly curved part of the maxilla had the longest teeth of the entire skull. The internal bone shelves of the maxillae met each other in the midline of the skull over a long distance, forming a closed secondary palate that stiffened the snout, and setting off the internal nostrils and palatal complex (including the pterygoid, palatine and ectopterygoid) towards the back of the skull. The nostrils, unlike in most theropods, were retracted further back on the skull and behind the premaxillary teeth.
William the Third won his first five races of 1902, proving himself the best stayer of the year in England. On his debut he was sent to Royal Ascot for the two-and-a-half-mile Gold Cup which attracted an extremely strong field. The runners included the classic winners Volodyovski and Cap and Bells (Epsom Oaks), the leading British older horses Osbech (Coronation Cup) and Santoi (1901 Ascot Gold Cup), and the French challengers Cheri (Grand Prix de Paris) and La Camargo (Prix de Diane). The day attracted a large and fashionable crowd to Ascot, including the Queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales Ridden by Morny Cannon, William the Third, who started the 2/1 favourite, was held up towards the back of the field of runners until the straight.
St. Gatien, who had not been entered in the St. Leger, did not reappear until October 7 when he ran in the Cesarewitch Stakes at Newmarket. In the two and a quarter mile handicap he was assigned a weight of 122 pounds, meaning that he carried more weight than any of the other runners except for the six-year-old Corrie Roy and the four-year- old Florence, the winner of the Grosser Preis von Baden. No three-year-old had ever won the race with such a weight, the previous record being 118 carried by Robert the Devil in 1880. St. Gatien, who looked "magnificent" before the race, was restrained by Wood towards the back of the twenty runner field before being moved into contention two furlongs out.
He returned to the starting line-up following the appointment of Christian Titz and scored five times in the final eight matches of the season against Stuttgart, Schalke, Freiburg, Wolfsburg and Gladbach, between which he also made his 100th league appearance for the club in a 3–0 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt. His strong performances towards the back of campaign were, however, not enough to prevent Hamburg from suffering relegation from the Bundesliga for the first time in the club's history. He ended as Hamburg's top goalscorer for the season with six goals, despite only playing 16 matches and on 24 May, with his contract set to expire, signed a one-year extension on a significant pay-cut in order to remain with the club. Holtby then started in the club's first-ever 2.
Shortly before the race a half-share in the colt was sold for $1 million to the Derisley Wood Stud, despite the fact that he was still a maiden after four races. At Ascot he was again opposed by Last Fandango and Final Straw, but the lightly-raced Dalsaan was made the odds-on favourite, with Posse starting the 11/2 third choice in the betting. Eddery rode the colt with great confidence, restraining him towards the back of the field and he was still only in fifth place with a furlong and a half to run. Posse then moved up on the outside, and produced what Timeform described as a "dazzling turn of speed" to overtake Final Straw well inside the final furlong and win very easily by one and a half lengths.
Towards the back of the field Romain Grosjean was hit from behind by the No. 33 Hegersport Maserati, bouncing the Ford into the side of the No. 8 Young Driver Aston Martin and Grosjean to spin to the outside of the first turn. Suspension damaged in the accident would render the Ford unable to restart the race. During the second lap Hirschi ran wide at the Stowe corner and allowed Makoweicki to take over the race lead, while Warren Hughes took fourth place from Jos Menten's Reiter Lamborghini. As the race entered the third lap, the No. 8 Young Driver Aston Martin was forced to make a pit stop to replace a tyre punctured in the earlier incident while the No. 14 Phoenix Racing Corvette began to billow smoke on the Hangar Straight.
The limbs of chimpanzees, compared to those of humans, reveal their different lifestyle. The chimpanzee primarily uses two modes of locomotion: knuckle-walking, a style of quadrupedalism in which the body weight is supported on the knuckles (or more properly on the middle phalanges of the fingers), and brachiation (swinging from branch to branch), a style of bipedalism in which flexed fingers are used to grasp branches above the head. To meet the requirements of these styles of locomotion, the chimpanzee's finger phalanges are longer and have more robust insertion areas for the flexor tendons while the metacarpals have transverse ridges to limit dorsiflexion (stretching the fingers towards the back of the hand). The thumb is small enough to facilitate brachiation while maintaining some of the dexterity offered by an opposable thumb.
The capstone, which slopes downwards from south east to north west (the left side of the entrance towards the back, right), measures four metres (13 ft) long, three metres (10 ft) wide, and thick. The insides of the two facing, rectangular, uprights have been smoothed off and there is a port-hole at the top of the triangular, rear stone, similar to some other dolmens, such as at Trethevy Quoit, in Cornwall. The burial chamber has a minimum internal height of and is in an east/west alignment, with the entrance facing east. As with most cromlechs, it is likely that originally, the burial chamber would have had a forecourt immediately outside the entrance to the chamber and the chamber would have been covered by a mound of earth and smaller stones.
He was then dropped back in class and started 8/15 for a Listed race at Haydock Park, but struggled to obtain a clear run and was hampered in the closing stages before finishing third to Jelani. He then finished third to Bandari in the Great Voltigeur Stakes in which the first five runners finished within a length and a half of each other. Despite failing to win in his five previous starts, Bollin Eric's consistent performances in high-quality races, saw him being regarded as a serious contender for the St Leger at Doncaster and he started joint third favourite at odds of 7/1. Ridden by Kevin Darley, Bollin Eric was restrained towards the back of the field before being switched to the outside to challenge in the straight.
The team wrapped up the manufactures and teams championships. The TWR backed Volvo squad, after an ultimately disappointing 1996 despite 5 wins, introduced a new car for 1997, replacing the 850 model with the sleek new S40. Swede Rickard Rydell, again drove alongside former Ford driver Kelvin Burt. The sole victory came for Rydell at Brands Hatch in August whilst Kelvin Burt scored just one podium in the opening race of the year Honda, now having their pair of Accords run by the Prodrive team, had arguably the most exciting driver line-up for '97. Hard charger James Thompson, having joined from Vauxhall, and 1994 BTCC champion/ex-F1 driver Gabriele Tarquini would drive for the Japanese marque, who had had a resurgence towards the back end of 1996.
The hand is said to be in straight position when the third finger runs over the capitate bone and is in a straight line with the forearm. This should not be confused with the midposition of the hand which corresponds to an ulnar deviation of 12 degrees. From the straight position two pairs of movements of the hand are possible: abduction (movement towards the radius, so called radial deviation or abduction) of 15 degrees and adduction (movement towards the ulna, so called ulnar deviation or adduction) of 40 degrees when the arm is in strict supination and slightly greater in strict pronation. Platzer 2004, p 132 Flexion (tilting towards the palm, so called palmar flexion) and extension (tilting towards the back of the hand, so called dorsiflexion) is possible with a total range of 170 degrees.
Reconstructed skulls of the type (A-B) and juvenile (C-D) specimens of K. langenbergensis The skull of Knoetschesuchus is relatively short, with the snout taking up 47% of skull length in K. langenbergensis and 42% in K. guimarotae, which allows them to be classified as brevirostrine crocodilians. Along the side of the snout are two undulations, a smaller one on the premaxilla and a larger and broader one on the maxilla. The jagged suture between the premaxilla and maxilla is angled towards the front of the skull in K. langenbergensis and towards the back in K. guimarotae. Along the midline of the snout are the thin and wedge-like nasals; the nostrils, which face upwards, are clearly separated by the nasals in K. guimarotae, but it is not clear that this is the case in K. langenbergensis.
Ruler of the World was restrained towards the back of the field in the early stages and turned into the straight in ninth place. He moved into contention in the straight and took the lead from Battle of Marengo approaching the final furlong. He went clear of the field and was driven out by Moore won by one and a half lengths from Libertarian, Galileo Rock, and Battle of Marengo. Ruler of the World was Aidan O'Brien's fourth Derby winner following Galileo, High Chaparral, and Camelot, and gave Moore a second win in the Epsom classic after his success on Workforce in 2010. Ruler of the World was the first Chester Vase winner since Shergar in 1981 to win the Derby, and the first winner of the Derby to be unraced as a two-year-old since Commander in Chief in 1993.
At the end of 1997, the Derwent Valley Council erected brand new changerooms to replace the former wooden ones (believed to have been wooden huts from a former Hydro village in the Central Highlands) which had stood behind the First Avenue end goals since the ground was opened. View of Boyer Oval from the Hepper Stand side looking towards the Back River Road (Queenstown) end. New Norfolk played their first match at Boyer Oval in 1946 in the Southern District Football Association, prior to that they played at Lachlan Park in the grounds of the old Royal Derwent Hospital complex. The ground holds the distinction of having the second highest - 39.17 (251) by New Norfolk on 14 July 1983 - and fourth highest - 38.15 (243) by North Hobart on 5 August 1989 - scores kicked in TFL history on it.
The molars increase in size towards the back of the mouth. The tooth rows of KNM- ER 1470, KNM-ER 60000, and KNM-ER 62000 are rectangular, whereas the tooth row of KNM-ER 1802 is U-shaped, which may indicate that these two morphs represent different species, or demonstrate the normal range of variation for H. rudolfensis jaws. In UR 501 from Uraha, Malawi—the oldest H. rudolfensis specimen dating to 2.5–2.3 mya—the tooth enamel thickness is the same as in other early Homo, but the enamel on the molars is almost as thick as Paranthropus molars (which have some of the thickest enamel of any hominin). Such a wide variation in enamel thickness across the cheek teeth is not exhibited in KNM-ER 1802, which may indicate regional differences among H. rudolfensis populations.
Towards the back of the Thursday time sheet, Schiattarella and Verstappen shared the former's chassis to set the 20th and 19th-fastest times respectively, as Verstappen's gearbox was still refusing to run smoothly. Schiattarella spun at La Rascasse and attempted to execute a spin-turn at the blind entry to the corner, almost collecting Roberto Moreno's Forti in the process; he was given a $20,000 fine, suspended for three races, for "creating a very dangerous situation". Verstappen then took over the car and crashed it, restricting the Simtek team to a total of nine laps between its two drivers. Behind Boullion, Andrea Montermini (Pacific) set the 22nd-quickest time, ahead of Moreno, who had to share his car with Diniz after the latter's gearbox failed, restricting him to 25th place, over four seconds slower than his teammate.
The favourite for the race was Kris, who had won the Greenham Stakes on his seasonal debut, while Lyphard's Wish, who had defeated the previous year's champion two-year-old Tromos in the Craven Stakes was also strongly fancied. Ridden by the American jockey Steve Cauthen, Tap On Wood raced towards the back of the field before moving up to contest the lead with three furlongs left to run. In the closing stages three colts drew clear of the field, with Tap On Wood challenged by Kris on the rails to his right and Young Generation on his left. In what Timeform described as "a memorable finish" Tap On Wood prevailed by half a length from Kris, with Young Generation a short head away in third place, giving Cauthen his first win in a British classic race.
As usual, he was towards the back of the field in the early stages before producing a "sensational" run to take the lead in the straight and win easily. In the Jockey Club Gold Cup over two miles at Belmont in October, Hill Prince established his position as the best horse in America as he "cakewalked" to a four length victory over the Irish-bred Noor. In November, Hill Prince was sent to California to take on Your Host on the latter's home ground in the Thanksgiving Day Handicap and was beaten in a photo finish in front of "40,000 howling fans". Hill Prince stayed in California for his last two starts of the year: he finished third to Noor in the Hollywood Gold Cup and then won the Sunset Handicap, coming from the back of the field to overtake the champion filly Next Move in the closing stages.
View towards Downtown Los Angeles from Inspiration Point There are five ways to enter Runyon Canyon: two gates at the bottom of the park in the south at Fuller and Vista Streets; a gate at the top of Runyon Canyon Road at Mulholland Drive on the north side of the park, a gate at northwest end of the park at Solar Drive by the trail on West Ridge, and a spine-ridge footpath from the top of Wattles Garden. The trailhead on Mulholland Drive has a parking area while the other trailheads rely on street parking. There are three routes to hike Runyon Canyon from the Fuller Gate—Runyon Canyon Road (easy), the Star Trail (medium), and the Hero Trail (difficult). Runyon Canyon Road is a gradual climb on a passably paved road, as one heads South to North towards the back of the Canyon.
In June 2011, it was announced that Mertens had signed for fellow Eredivisie club PSV as a replacement for the departing Balázs Dzsudzsák in a dual transfer with Utrecht teammate Kevin Strootman for a combined fee of €13 million. He scored on his competitive debut for the club on 7 August 2011, netting PSV's only goal in a 3–1 loss to AZ. Later that month, on 28 August, Mertens scored his first hat-trick for PSV in a 6–1 drubbing of Excelsior. Mertens' strong start to season culminated with him netting four goals in a 7–1 rout of Roda JC on 24 September 2011, meaning he had scored 11 goals in his first 7 appearances for PSV. Towards the back end of the campaign, Mertens lost a number of teeth during a collision with Heracles goalkeeper Remko Pasveer, although he managed to score during the incident.
A fatigued or unconscious diver can be made to float face up at the surface by adjustment of their buoyancy and weights, so the buoyancy raises the top and front of the diver's body, and the weights act at the lower back of the body. An inflated horse-collar BC always provides this orientation, but an inflated vest or wing may float the diver face-down if the center of buoyancy is behind the centre of gravity. This floating orientation is generally considered undesirable and can be minimized by relocation of some of the weights further to the rear, and using higher density cylinders (typically steel), which also move the center of mass towards the back of the diver. The BC type can also be selected with this factor in mind, selecting a style with a center of buoyancy further forward when filled, as this has the same net effect.
The Pacer's "wide track and cab forward design actually lets it handle pretty well" given its body roll like competing contemporary models. Cab forward was used by Chrysler Corporation starting in 1992 to describe styling and engineering features that were similar to those seen on the AMC Pacer and the Lamborghini Portofino, which improved cornering and interior space The passenger cabin was "pushed forward" so that the front wheel well directly abutted the leading edge of the front doors, and the windshield extended forward over the engine, while the rear wheels were shifted towards the back corners of the vehicle. Moving the wheels to the edges allowed designers to enlarge the interior while improving ride and cornering. Numerous models built from 1993 to 2004 on the Chrysler LH platform, the JA and JR platforms ("cloud cars"), and the PL platform (Neon), were specifically marketed as cab forward cars.
Morphologically, the sides of the snout are parallel (unlike the spoon-tipped snouts of Gnathosaurus), most of the mandible is composed mainly of the dentary, and the well-developed retroarticular process is formed by the angular bone like in other ctenochasmatids. There are many long, needle-like, outward-projecting, tightly packed, equally-spaced teeth in the jaws of Liaodactylus, totalling to 152 teeth across both jaws. This is more than Gnathosaurus (128-136), about the same as Gegepterus (150), but much less than Ctenochasma (200-552) and Pterodaustro (almost a thousand). The teeth become shorter towards the back of the jaws, eventually becoming short, peg-like structures at the back of the tooth row; the back of the tooth row corresponding to the front 1/3 of the nasoantorbital fenestra, which is unusual among ctenochasmatids (where the teeth usually stop entirely before the fenestra).
Another example of this occurs when, in Xander's dream, he walks from the front of the moving ice cream van towards the back, crawls up and over some boxes, through a window, and drops into his basement. In the theater scene during Willow's dream, a Frazier lens was used to provide a large depth of field, allowing both the foreground and background to be in focus at the same time, while in Xander's dream, as he moves from room to room in Buffy's house to the university dorm rooms, Whedon used a 17 mm lens to give a sense of motion as the camera passes by walls. Whedon also used unusual framing for shots, often leaving much of the frame empty, with a character being placed near the bottom or off to the side. The scenes in Spike's crypt, part of Giles' dream, were shot in black-and-white to emphasize that Spike is seen as "an old 30s movie villain".
The site of Radford railway station has been developed into a block of flats; Sandy Lane Power Station, which became offices for the East Midlands Electricity Board, has been redeveloped into Electric Wharf, a mixed-use site incorporating residential buildings and public art; and the former Daimler works are now a residential area known as Daimler Green. Radford also benefits from a generous number of parks including Nauls' Mill Park that runs behind the Radford "Council" Estate (including Hewitt Avenue) and from Bridgeman Road through to Middleborough Road towards the back of Radford Fire Station bordering the City Centre. A little known fact is that, below ground, the busy, culverted, Radford Brook river runs and by one branch once filled the Nauls' Mill Park pool before joining the River Sherbourne under the Belgrade Theatre Other parks include Daimler Park (Between Daimler Road and Cash's Lane) and "Radford Rec" running alongside Lydgate Hill Road. The pink-brown Runcorn sandstone war memorial was unveiled in 1919.
In the second race of the weekend, he collided with Sam Bird, a clash which ended both their races. In the third round of the season, the 2020 Santiago ePrix, Evans set pole position & was set for a dominant victory, but a temperature issue meant he was passed by António Félix da Costa & Maximilian Günther finishing 4th on the road behind Nyck De Vries, but was promoted to 3rd after the Dutchman received a penalty. At the next race in Mexico City, he qualified second on the grid behind André Lotterer, but took the lead at the very start of the race & won the race with one of the biggest winning margins in the history of Formula E. A timing issue in Marrakesh meant that Evans was unable to set a qualifying time & started towards the back of the grid, but he put in a phenomenal recovery drive to finish 6th in the race.
The charge of the Light Brigade, October 1854; The 13th Hussars were in the first line of cavalry (on the left of the picture) on the right flank (towards the back of the picture) Officers and men of the 13th Hussars-survivors of the Charge of the Light Brigade by Roger Fenton 1855 The regiment next saw action, as part of the light brigade under the command of Major General the Earl of Cardigan, at the Battle of Alma in September 1854. The regiment was in the first line of cavalry on the right flank during the Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava in October 1854. The brigade drove through the Russian artillery before smashing straight into the Russian cavalry and pushing them back; it was unable to consolidate its position, however, having insufficient forces and had to withdraw to its starting position, coming under further attack as it did so. The regiment lost three officers and 38 men in the debacle.
Suckermouth minnows have a mouth that ends right below the tip of their snout (sub-terminal mouth), appearing like a small sucker and giving them the name suckermouth minnow. These minnows have five fins used for swimming, the dorsal fin which is located on the top of the fish, the anal fin located on the bottom of the fish towards the back by the tail, right in front of the anal fin is the pelvic fin, the pectoral fin is located on both sides of the fish, and finally the caudal fin or also known the tail. Suckermouth minnows have a long narrow black line that stretches down the side of the minnow ending at a dark spot near the base of the tail. Right above this black line is a narrow gold line running the same length as the black line and ending at the base of the tail, near the black spot.
Kitshoff first broke through during the 2011 season, making 5 substitute appearances for the Stormers and then 5 Currie Cup appearances for Western Province while still only a teenager. He became more of a regular during 2012, nailing down the number 1 jersey for both the Stormers and Western Province and also winning the Currie Cup title with Province in an impressive win over the in Durban. His 2013 Super Rugby campaign was solid and he carried that form into the Currie Cup later in the year where he was an ever-present as Province reached a second consecutive Currie Cup final this time going down at home to the Sharks. 2014 was a year of frustration as he succumbed to a season-ending injury towards the back-end of the Super Rugby season and this ruled him out of Western Province's successful Currie Cup campaign in which they lifted the title for the second time in three years with a narrow win over the at Newlands.
The triple tibial osteotomy was developed by a New Zealand veterinary orthopaedic specialist, Dr. Warrick Bruce, while he was working in Adelaide, South Australia. By changing the geometry of the forces of gravity and muscle contractions that act on the stifle during weight-bearing, it aims to neutralise the shear force that causes the cranial movement of the tibia with respect to the femur. This shear force develops because the canine tibial plateau – the weight-bearing aspect of the joint – is sloped caudally (downwards towards the back of the joint) and there is an acute angle between the tibial plateau slope and the patellar ligament. In the triple tibial osteotomy procedure, the tibia has three osteotomies (cuts into the bone with a bone saw) performed upon it with the aim of realigning the tibial plateau slope so that it ultimately becomes aligned at right angles to the patellar ligament instead of sloping backwards.
He played five games scoring the one goal in his time with Hyde, before returning to Rochdale on 16 January 2012, after his month's loan deal had expired. After returning to Rochdale, Gray made two appearances towards the back end of the 2011–12 season. His first coming in a 2–1 defeat to Milton Keynes Dons on 28 April 2012. He scored his first Rochdale goal of the season in a 2–1 defeat to Leyton Orient on 5 May. He was given the number 10 shirt by Rochdale during pre-season building up to the 2012–13 season, but in August 2012 he suffered a dislocated ankle, a fractured tibula and a snapped medial ligament in behind- closed-doors fixture with Liverpool, forcing the game to be abandoned and ruling Gray out for about 6 months. He made his comeback from the injury on 20 April 2013, in a 3–0 defeat to Oxford United.
In 1564 a prominent feature on the floor of the lateral ventricles of the brain was named the hippocampus by Aranzi as its curved shape on each side supposedly reminded him of a seahorse, the Hippocampus (though Mayer mistakenly used the term hippopotamus in 1779, and was followed by several others until 1829). At that same time a ridge on the occipital horn was named the calcar avis, but in 1786 this was renamed the hippocampus minor, with the hippocampus being called the hippocampus major. hippocampus minor is a small fold on the occipital horn towards the back of the brain (to the right) to the rear of the hippocampus major which forms a curved ridge on each side of the lower central area. Richard Owen presented several papers on the anatomical differences between apes and humans, arguing that they had been created separately and stressing the impossibility of apes being transmuted into men.
First dorsal vertebra Austroposeidon was a large sauropod in fact, the largest dinosaur discovered in Brazil to date, with the only known specimen, an adult, having a length of about . Several traits show that Austroposeidon was a member of the titanosaurs; the hyposphene-hypantrum articulations are missing from the vertebrae, the cervical and dorsal vertebrae do not have forked neural spines, and the internal texture of the bone is camellate (punctuated by many small air chambers). The describers determined that Austroposeidon was a new genus based on a number of autapomorphies (or traits unique to the known fossils) in the vertebrae: the thirteenth cervical vertebra has columnar centropostzygapophyseal laminae, and its rear centrodiapophyseal lamina splits into two prongs; the first dorsal vertebra has front and back centrodiapophyseal laminae that curve downwards and outwards, and its diapophysis stretches down to the top margin of the centrum; and the frontmost part of the spinoprezygapophyseal laminae forks in the dorsal vertebrae positioned towards the back of the torso. Additionally, Austroposeidon possesses a unique combination of other vertebral traits, not seen elsewhere among titanosaurs.
On 6 December 2017, shortly after the conclusion of the 2017 Women's Rugby League World Cup, which concluded with the Jillaroos defeating the New Zealand Ferns by 23–16 in the final, it was announced by the National Rugby League that the inaugural NRL Women's season would operate in a round-robin format, and be held in August 2018, towards the back end of the men's season, with some matches to be played as curtain-raisers to NRL finals matches. The Grand Final, which will be contested between the top two teams at the end of the round robin stage, will be played on the same day as the men's Grand Final. It was also announced that a stand-alone State of Origin match would also be contested in the representative weekend, in June. The Newcastle Knights, St. George Illawarra Dragons, Brisbane Broncos, New Zealand Warriors, Sydney Roosters, South Sydney Rabbitohs and Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks all declared their interest in applying for a licence to participate in the inaugural NRL Women's competition.
One of the most striking features of the Pavilion is the unique use of full-length, floor-to-ceiling accordion-style window/doors which line the length of the main exterior walls of the large central assembly area, offering seamless transition from the comfort of the central hall to the beauty of the outside environment. These unique accordion window/doors provide access to the two large patio areas that exist for additional outdoor event space usage which face scenic wooded areas towards the back side of the pavilion facility. The state-of-the-art, contemporary venue is available for rental to the general public for weddings, business conferences, tradeshows, and other local events requiring a large-scale venue space, but it also serves as a critical central meeting place for the congregation to host large-scale cultural events such as the annual "Serb Fest" which takes place each summer and other special events throughout the year like the Lenten Fish Frys, the youth folklore group's annual Intercultural Dance Festival, or the Children's Choir Festival hosting youth choral talent from around the midwest.
The young South African produced the triangular cross-section BT42, the first of a series of Ford-powered cars with which the Brabham team would take several victories in 1974 and 1975 with Carlos Reutemann and Carlos Pace. Ecclestone (right) with Carlos Reutemann at the 1975 Austrian Grand Prix Despite the increasing success of Murray's nimble Ford-powered cars, Ecclestone signed a deal with Alfa Romeo to use their powerful but heavy flat-12 engine from the 1976 season. Although this was financially beneficial, the new BT45s were unreliable and the Alfa engines rendered them significantly overweight. The 1976 and 1977 seasons saw Brabham fall towards the back of the field again, before winning two races again in the 1978 season when Ecclestone signed the Austrian double world champion Niki Lauda, intrigued by Murray's radical BT46 design. The Brabham-Alfa era ended in 1979, the team's first season with the up-and-coming young Brazilian Nelson Piquet when Alfa Romeo started testing their own Formula One car during this season.
After the war he went to study at Oxford University, and returned to the arena of first-class cricket playing for the University in 1919. He played his first of seven games, most of which were against assembled elevens such as the Gentlemen of England and HDG Leveson-Gower's XI. Bell made his return appearance for Derbyshire towards the back end of the 1919 season, their ninth place in the season's table something of a false hope for times to come. Bell made his final three appearances for Derbyshire during the 1920 season, finishing with a duck in his first appearance, though his form improved in the first innings of his next game and, although the final game of his season saw him achieve an innings of 11, before getting out, he found himself dropped from the team, never to make another first-class appearance. After university, he became a schoolmaster and in 1927 became headmaster of Trent College where he was held in high regard by the boys and was seen as a forward-thinking man.
The hall is generally cold in colour due to the prominence of grey granite, black or white stone and black fabric in the structure and decoration as well as to the lightning from the giant white glass ceiling, although the use of pearwood for the seats and handrails and of oak for the floor brings a warmer, light brown touch. This modern design has been controversial ever since the house's opening, with part of the audience preferring the profusely ornate and luminous decoration of the more traditional Palais Garnier. The backstage occupies an enormous surface(5,000 m²), six times larger than the stage: the stage area is flanked left and right with areas of the same size, and these three areas are replicated towards the back of the theatre. A system of rails and a rotating dock make it possible to roll entire sets on and off on giant motorised platforms in a few minutes and to store these platforms on the available backstage spots; quick changes of set enable the artists to rehearse a work in the afternoon and to perform another one in the evening, something impossible at the palais Garnier.
The regiment fought at the Battle of Talavera in July 1809 under Sir Arthur Wellesley and then contributed to a successful ambush of the enemy at the Battle of Usagre in May 1811 during the Peninsular War. The regiment took part in a successful charge at the Battle of Salamanca in July 1812 and in the aftermath seized some of Joseph Bonaparte's silver; it then fought at the Battle of Vitoria in June 1813 and at the Battle of Toulouse in April 1814. The regiment was designated a light dragoons in 1818, becoming the 4th (The Queen's Own) Regiment of (Light) Dragoons and went to fight at the Battle of Ghazni in July 1839 during the First Anglo-Afghan War. The charge of the Light Brigade, October 1854; The 4th (Queen's Own) Light Dragoons were in the second line of cavalry (in the middle of the picture) on the right flank (towards the back of the picture) The regiment next saw action, as part of the light brigade under the command of Major General the Earl of Cardigan, at the Battle of Alma in September 1854.
The different components within the category of VEPs were first described by Spehlmann in 1965 who compared human ERPs when viewing patterned and diffuse stimuli that were quickly flashed on the screen while a person was viewing the general area where the flash was to appear. However, it was not until Jeffreys and Axford (1972) that the earliest individual components of those VEPs were delineated, including the C1 component. Jeffreys and Axford had human participants view stimulus patterns of squares for a very short time (25ms), aperiodically, in different parts of the participant's visual fields while being recorded using electrodes placed towards the back of the head. Specifically, they recorded from three electrode sites placed on the longitudinal midline of the head: one 3 cm anterior to the inion (the bony projection at the posteroinferior part of the skull), and two 3 cm to either side of the midline. After averaging between like trials (trials where the stimuli were presented in the same part of the visual field) and looking at the ERPs, Jeffreys and Axford postulated that there are two distinct components in the first 150 milliseconds, the C1 and the C2.
An early description and analysis of the seal's iconography was provided by archaeologist John Marshall who had served as the Director-General of the Archaeological Survey of India and led the excavations of the Indus Valley sites. In addition to the general features of the seal described above, he also saw the central figure as a male deity; as three-faced, with a possible fourth face towards the back; and, as ithyphallic, while conceding that what appeared to be the exposed phallus could instead be a tassel hanging from the waistband. Most significantly he identified the seal as an early prototype of the Hindu god Shiva (or, his Vedic predecessor, Rudra), who also was known by the title Pashupati ('lord or father of all the animals') in historic times. In a 1928–29 publication, Marshall summarized his reasons for the identification as follows: Later, in 1931, he expanded his reasons to include the fact that Shiva is associated with the phallus in the form of linga, and that in medieval art he is shown with deer or ibexes, as are seen below the throne on the seal.
Curle got off to a flying start, winning his first full-match as manager 1–0 against fellow strugglers Tranmere Rovers. This was followed by a 3–0 victory over rivals Hartlepool United, and another home 3–0 victory against Stevenage. The run of form lifted Carlisle from the foot of the table, and out of the relegation zone. The surge in form soon petered out however, and United again found themselves near the trapdoor of the Football League's basement division. 7 points from 3 games towards the back end of the season meant that Carlisle secured their Football League safety with 2 games to spare, following a 2–0 home victory over promotion-chasing Plymouth Argyle, just 4 days after a courageous 1–1 draw away at Champions Burton Albion. The next season was a much better one but not enough for a promotion push, with the team finishing 10th. A highlight of the season was a visit at Anfield for the third round of the League Cup and a famous 1–1 draw against giants Liverpool, but lost 3–2 on penalties. The first half of the 2016-17 season was excellent for the club, with just one loss (against then-bottom Newport County) in their first 23 league fixtures.
