Kaleidoscope was formed in 1988 by television enthusiasts to show appreciation and to research vintage television shows. In late 2013, ten years after Bob Monkhouse died, a large number of television and radio programmes were donated to Kaleidoscope from Monkhouse's archive. They discover Watson, apparently the true mastermind, who reveals that he pretended to be Moriarty to get through to Sherlock, who did not respect or show appreciation for him, and supposedly has the gnomes in custody, only to find them all missing. The Gargoyles reveal that they never worked for Watson, and dispose of Juliet, Sherlock and Watson on a ship. Sherlock realizes the gnomes are being held at the bottom of the Tower Bridge with pie filling, and Moriarty appears, revealing that he really was behind everything and plans to smash the gnomes with the raised bridge. After witnessing Sherlock's mistreatment of Watson, he had the Gargoyles feign allegiance with Watson to access his map and identify the location of every gnome in London.

Firefighters Helping One Another Started in 2002, after the creation of the Russ Martin Show Listeners Foundation, the Police and Fire Parade was organized by the cast of The Russ Martin Show to show appreciation for the work of police and fire agencies around North Texas. The first parade started at the American Airlines Center in Downtown Dallas and ended at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas. The sheer popularity of the first parade caused the number of agencies involved to nearly double the next year. In 2003, the parade started from the American Airlines Center and ended at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie. This was a landmark year for the parade, which included not only the addition of two branches of military representation, but also the addition of Martin's own replica 1966 Batmobile as the pacecar.

On Valentine's Day in Japan, is inexpensive chocolate that women give to male co-workers and friends to show appreciation and respect as opposed to , chocolate that is given to romantic partners. While Japan has a strong gift-giving culture, the origins of giving chocolate on Valentine's Day is unclear. One popular explanation is that the trend was started by junior high school girls, who would give handmade chocolate to boys to see if they returned their affections, and it later became commercialized in the mid-1950s, with the first Valentine's sale taking place in 1958 at Mary Chocolate. Harumichi Yamada from Tokyo Keizai University stated that the practice of giving chocolate occurred because women expressing their love to men was considered disgraceful, and confectioneries capitalized on chocolate as a way for them to profess their love; however, as the social status of women improved, Valentine's Day was later considered a day where women give chocolate to men, through which the custom emerged.
