Nordic Walking, hiking, mountain biking and trekking are popular summer activities in the peaceful surroundings of the Sankt Andreasberg mountain town. In the spa park there is a ropes course and climbing park. The southern part of the Oderteich reservoir in the Harz National Park is open to swimmers in the summer.

Gerber Scout Camp serves Boy Scouts and is currently accredited through the Boy Scout National Camp Accreditation Process. Gerber Scout camp has gone through major facilities improvements starting in 2002 and continuing through today. Some of these were the addition of a climbing tower and a high and low ropes course. In the middle of these improvements, the dining hall collapsed on December 24, 2008.

In the summer of 2013 Trollhaugen Opened up an aerial challenge ropes course and zip- line. The aerial challenge course offers six different circuits with four different difficulties, green (easy), yellow (medium), blue (difficult), and black (extremely difficult), with heights from 12 to 48 feet off the ground. Camp PMI and Ross focus on Webelos. Bowman is the only camp that still provides meals where each unit's patrols all prepare their own meal at their own campsites, some other camps use dining halls. Camp Marriott offers a slightly different dining experience where troops eat in their site; there is no dining hall at Marriott. Camp Post focuses on administrative functions and facilities used by all campers like the COPE climbing tower and ropes course.

Mountain sport is the newest sport in Kenya. It is a combined sport-related individual and team challenges including distance running, High Ropes Course, Mountain Climbing and Abseiling, all done in the Jungle. The Mt. Kenya School of Adventure and Leadership (KESAL) held the inaugural Mountain Sports on October 22, 2011. The winners for the inaugural event were Benard Waweru – Men's 21 km Senior Jungle Race while the Senior Women's 21 km was won by the elite road runner Pauline Wangui.

In 2010, the Wilderness renovated all of the Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort guest rooms. In 2012, the Wilderness opened the Northern Lights Sky Ropes Course, located in the Wild West region of the hotel. The resort also added the Lunar Loop and Cosmic Drop Whitewater West Drop Slides at the Lost World Water Park. As a means of being "inducted" into the Academy, all incoming students are expected to attend a three-day camp. It is held about three weeks prior to the start of each school year and campers consist mainly of incoming freshmen, as well as newly accepted upperclassmen. AST upperclassmen volunteer to serve as counselors to the new students. Various outdoor activities take place in the three days, including a ropes course (high and low elements) and other team building exercises.

Obstacle courses have been used by the military to train soldiers as far back as the ancient Greeks. Located on 450 heavily treed acres, the camp is located north of Washington and west of Baltimore. Down-hill camp includes the large Chernak gym, complete with basketball courts and a wrestling area. There’s also a 300,000 gallon swimming pool, featuring a small basketball hoop, several floating pool balls, and an Aquaclimb. Also, there are athletic fields, tennis courts, a floor hockey rink, and a ropes course. At the top of the hill, there’s a 550-seat dining hall where campers eat each of their meals.

In the summer of 2014, after almost 35 years of service to the snow king resort, the Raffery Double chair was taken out to make way for a new and improved base area. With these improvements came the New Raffery fixed grip quad chair, a new ticket office and the new Kings grill, a ropes course, mountain coaster and a new mini golf course. To facilitate activities for Perimeter School, the church also has a Junior Olympic Swimming Pool, 200 meter track and field, 2 baseball fields that can be converted into 3 soccer fields, and a full ropes course along with a picnic pavilion. Completed in August 1996, the heart of Perimeter Church, Buildings A & B, are 140,000 square feet.

Penn State Army ROTC Cadets executing the Ropes Course at Stone Valley Penn State's role in national defense dates from 1863, when it was designated a place for boys to be land-grant institution under the Morrill Act. Congress included military training as part of the mission of land-grant colleges. The Civil War was then raging, and the concept of broad-based military preparedness was very important to lawmakers. In 1917, to address World War I's need for trained military leaders, the University established a component of the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC).

Blawith is a quiet area, but it does have holiday parks and cottages such as Crake Valley Holiday Park for people who are visiting the area. It is central to many attractions, being within five miles of Coniston Water, Grizedale Forest Park, the Aquarium of the Lakes at Lakeside, and Ulverston with its Laurel and Hardy Museum. Go Ape ropes course, four miles away, is a day trip for tourists visiting Blawith and Subberthwaite, and Bigland Hall Equestrian is five miles away. Local pubs in the vicinity include The Red Lion, suitable for families.

Because of the close proximity to a large city and the potentially large impact this causes the park, the park's environmental education program grew rapidly in the first three years in existence: 100 students (2006), 900 students (2007), and over 2,000 students (2008). The park administration was trained by Outward Bound Romania on experiential education strategies in the summer of 2007. The park has the Romanian park system's first low ropes course and has received notoriety in Romanian national news and within the park system for its education efforts.

The Flint River Adventure Area was founded in 1988 as the Lawhorn Canoe & Training Center, it is the second major section of the scouting base as a whole. It was the first Boy Scout high adventure base in the BSA's Southern Region and focused on canoe trips down the Flint River, ropes course and climbing programs, and mountaineering programs in north Georgia. When Thunder Scout Reservation was renamed in 2007, this camp was given the new FRAA title. The FRAA is located on the northwest corner of the Lawhorn Scouting Base.

A short time after the flash flood ended, a double rainbow appeared over the property. Debra Hepler, the executive director of Ghost Ranch, described the rainbow as "the promise of God’s love and hope times two," as no injuries or deaths resulted from the flood. The specific facilities that were destroyed were the Fiber Arts Studio, a ropes course area, an equipment shed, an aqueduct, Pot Hollow, Short House, and Pole Barn. Activities in those facilities were temporarily moved to other facilities on the property in order to await possible reconstruction.

Camp William Hinds opened in 1927 as the summer camp for Cumberland County Council. The camp was named for the son of the businessman who donated the property to the council. The camp is located on of land on Panther Pond in Raymond, Maine and is currently the only long term Pine Tree Council camp supporting troops and packs in southern Maine. Scouts use Camp Hinds for a full week-long summer program of aquatics, nature/ecology, Scoutcraft (outdoor skills), archery and riflery, handicraft, ropes course, and climbing.

General Layout of Fantasy of Flight The facility features a main building consisting of two large hangars (called "North" and "South") for the aircraft on display, restoration shops, the immersion environments, a gift shop, and the Art Deco-themed Compass Rose Diner. Just outside the main building across from the entrance is the facility's new ropes course and zip line attraction known as "Wing Walk Air." Outside the hangars there is an adjoining tarmac and two grass runways. On the north side of the runways are a maintenance hangar and conference facility.

On 15 April 2003 the Marine's 7th Engineer Support Battalion moved to the outskirts of Baghdad where they set up camp in the compound of the Iraqi Republican Guard Headquarters and named the area Engineer Base Anvil. The camp in Baghdad was an Iraqi Republican Guard training base (like boot camp). Once there the 7th ESB linked up with 1st and 2nd Combat Engineer Battalions and also 8th Engineer Support Battalion EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal). They set up camp in the middle of their obstacle and ropes course.

The current name and logo, consisting of a silhouetted New Forest pony against a purple square, was introduced at this time. In 2014, the Chief Scout, Bear Grylls, visited the site as part of his Bear in the Air tour of Scouts across the country. He visited the site by helicopter for an hour visit, meeting around 250 Scouts on site. During their time as a national centre, Ferny Crofts expanded the number of activities offered including a Low Ropes course, survival area, tomahawk throwing and Aeroball (volleyball played on trampolines).

The campus comprises 160 acres with grassy areas, trees and Lake Sno-Tip. Thornhill Nature Preserve is a nature preserve that provides outdoor educational opportunities through the Reiff Nature Center, ropes course, and various community events. The Merillat Centre for the Arts is a fine arts center that includes the Robert E. Wilson Gallery, as well as the Huntington University departments of art, music, and theatre.

Harvey Barracks, 1964 In 1910 the Canadian military established Camp Sarcee on a piece of land expropriated from the Tsuu T'ina First Nation at the southwest corner of Calgary. Throughout the First World War the camp served as the training place for the 10th and 50th Battalions of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. Following the Second World War the camp was re-established as Sarcee Barracks, being constructed during 1957 and opening in 1958. The new base contained a parade square, firing range, ropes course, school, housing, running track, and garages.

In addition to four years of physical education and health courses, Roxbury implemented a “wellness” elective and a “high performance” elective in the 2012–13 school year for students in grades 10–12. 2015-2016 saw the addition of exercise psychology and exercise physiology as PE electives. At the same time, a fitness room was constructed, and a dance studio was converted into a wellness room for use with the expanded elective offerings and our athletes. After superstorm Sandy, a high elements ropes course was rebuilt after the first one was destroyed.

Artegon Marketplace, formerly known as Festival Bay Mall, was an enclosed shopping mall located on International Drive in Orlando, Florida, United States. Opened in 2002 as a property of the Belz Factory Outlets, it is owned and managed by Dezer Development. The mall was in size with Bass Pro Shops, Boot Barn, Book Warehouse, Gods & Monsters, and Ron Jon Surf Shop as anchor stores. It also comprised several entertainment venues, including a Cinemark movie theater, Sky Zone Trampoline Park, Sky Trail Ropes Course and a Putting Edge glow-in-the-dark miniature golf course.

Craven leisure centre is at the park and has a range of indoor activities such as swimming pools, a gym and a cafe. There is a Pitch and Foot course, skate park, cycle track, zip wire and children's play area. Skipton Parkrun takes place in the park every Saturday morning. The woodland behind the leisure centre is home to Raven Tree Top Adventure a high ropes course designed for adults and teenagers but accessible from 7yrs, travel through the tree canopy on walkways, zip lines, bridges and other challenging elements.

The current campus is located near the northern border of Vista, at the intersection of North Santa Fe and Museum Way. It is within walking distance of the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum, Rancho Guajome Adobe, and Guajome County Park; students often take field trips to these locations, and the high school graduations were held at the adobe until the completion of the current campus. The school itself has three two-story buildings, a one-story building, a gymnasium, an amphitheater, and used to have a ropes course, the latter of which is also rented out to other organizations.

A wide variety of different "experience- oriented leisure facilities" have been created in the Allerpark in recent years. Alongside the AOK Stadium, the BadeLand Wolfsburg, the Eis Arena Wolfsburg and the Volkswagen Arena, the park has also welcomed a multitude of additional facilities developed by private investors. These have increased the range of attractions at the location in terms of both quality and quantity. Examples of the specialist facilities available at the Allerpark include the indoor football hall known as the SoccaFive Arena, the Monkeyman high ropes course and the WakePark water ski centre with the neighbouring BeachClub.

One of the waymarked trails at Moors Valley Country Park The visitors' centre Moors Valley Country Park, officially Moors Valley Country Park and Forest, is a Country Park situated in Ashley Heath, Dorset on the border with Hampshire, in the south of England. The park has adventure play equipment, a tree top walkway, a 'Go Ape!' high ropes course, a visitor centre and restaurant. There is also a narrow gauge steam railway (the Moors Valley Railway), a golf course, lakes, cycle hire, waymarked walks and cycle routes. A ranger service provides a wide range of events and an educational programme.

Geraldine Nesbitt Orr, the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy was established. The Jay S. Sidhu School of Business & Leadership was created in 2004, and the following year, the Henry Student Center was expanded and the university purchased an 80,000-square-foot (7,400 m2) building in downtown Wilkes-Barre. The University Center on Main (Ucom) building houses the Sidhu School of Business and Leadership, an indoor track and field, and ropes course. By 2014, Wilkes University grew to include eight academic buildings, 20 residence halls, nine administrative buildings, and other facilities such as the Eugene S. Asheville School has a well-established mountaineering program that participate in backpacking, rock climbing, whitewater kayaking, snow skiing, caving, and mountain biking. Many students take mountaineering as an afternoon activity for daily on-campus instruction and practice. On-campus facilities include a high-ropes course, an Alpine Tower, a bouldering wall, a swimming pool (for kayak instruction) and of forested land with miles of trails for biking and exploring. Off-campus trips are frequently offered to places such as Looking Glass Rock in Pisgah National Forest, the Tuckaseegee and French Broad rivers, and the Tsali Recreational area.

During this time the site was also enhanced with some additional features and activities including a Gambian round house in 1991, a 12m high climbing tower in 1998 and a refurbished high ropes course in 2008. Since 1981, the site has also been the headquarters location for Hampshire Scouts, the Scout county covering all of Hampshire and making it the largest in the country by membership. Initially this was in a portable building until moving to an office on the upper floor of Mountbatten Lodge in 1986 and then into the repurposed Warden's Flat in the Croft Centre in 2007.

The centre celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2017 with a refurbishment of the Mountbatten Lodge accommodation building, a new nine-hole crazy golf course and a designated quiet zone with pizza oven. The existing adventure course was expanded and improved in 2018 and 2019, the pond was reinforced against erosion and a new high ropes course with metal supports with a design lifespan on 25 years was installed in 2019. A tented village was also added in 2018.

In April 2010, the Department received an Excellence in Education Award for its superior programming, and outreach to the Lincoln Sudbury communities. Through a variety of required and elective courses students experience and learn the impacts of numerous wellness themes on regular physical activity, healthy food and sleep choices, self-care and advocacy, mindfulness and play and many more. Wrocław Zoo, home of the Africarium – the only space devoted solely to exhibiting the fauna of Africa with an oceanarium. It is the oldest zoological garden in Poland established in 1865.

Visitors begin at the elevators and continue to the end of Lake of Venus, which marks the end of the property. Beyond this point lie about of unconditioned and destroyed caverns, which lead to the quarry and the natural entrance. After a boat ride, visitors turn around and walk back the way they came, with two additional stops. In 2008, the cave was purchased by private owners. In 2011, the adventure park was assembled only featuring the ropes course and zip line. In recent years, an H2OGO ball has been added, along with a rock wall, air jumper, and a gemstone mining building.

As already mentioned, a ropes course is often a challenging outdoor personal development and team-building activity with a relatively low number of participants. Some parks offer both - a recreational section and a team building section. A canopy tour is a specific type of ziplining where a person is harnessed to a steel cable and propelled by gravity from platform to platform high up in the trees of a thick forest canopy. Although these date back far into history for civil and even scientific uses, they are now used for recreation and have created a new activity for the tourism industry.

Chessington World of Adventures Resort is a theme park, zoo and hotel complex in Chessington, Greater London, England, around southwest of Central London. The complex opened as Chessington Zoo in 1931, with the theme park being developed alongside the zoo by The Tussauds Group and opening on 7 July 1987, as one of the first themed amusement parks in Britain. The theme park, which features over 40 rides, is now owned by Merlin Entertainments, following its merger with The Tussauds Group in 2007. Under Merlin, Chessington has been increasingly developed into a resort tourist destination, including two on- site hotels, a high ropes course and camp site.

The Rocky Mount Sports Complex, maintained by the Parks and Recreation department, includes seven outdoor baseball fields, four softball fields, eight soccer fields, a professional disc golf course, basketball courts, and volleyball courts. The complex sees many statewide and interstate baseball and soccer tournaments. It also has a football stadium home to the NCWC Battling Bishops football team and Elizabeth City State University's annual Down East Viking Classic. The recently opened Rocky Mount Event Center administered by the city has added eight indoor basketball courts, sixteen volleyball courts, a ropes course, a climbing wall, and a family entertainment center, with plans to host indoor basketball, volleyball, and gymnastics competitions.

The Mobile Team Challenge is an experiential team-building low ropes course designed to support the learning and emotional environment for the students. Seventh-grade students have access to several electives. Half-year electives include Theatre, Family and Consumer Sciences 7, Journalism, Creative Writing, Computer Solutions, Digital Input Technologies, Technology Exploration 7, Art Foundations, and Computers in Art (Only after Art Foundations). Additionally, they can take basic language courses as semester electives, which include Spanish I Part A, French I Part A, and German I Part A. If they take one of these courses, they can take the "Part B" version of the language as a full year in eighth grade.

The use of belay and risk management systems on such courses was limited or often non-existent. Many practitioners cite Georges Hébert as the originator of the "modern" ropes course. A French naval officer in the early 1900s, Hébert developed his own method of physical education, apparatus, and principles to train in what he called the “Natural Method,” which included the development of physical, moral, and “virile” qualities in an outdoor environment. Drawing from his naval background, Hébert patterned some of his obstacles on obstacles found on the decks of ships. “Hébertism” grew during and between the World Wars, becoming the standard for physical education training for the French military.

In such cases, outcomes often include exploring the fundamentals of trust, craftsmanship, and coaching. Programs using low ropes course elements or group initiatives are most often designed to explore group interaction, problem-solving, and leadership. Some of the commonly claimed outcomes include enhancement of cooperation, decision making, self confidence, positive risk-taking, social cohesion, trust, self esteem, leadership, goal setting, and teamwork. In addition to these commonly cited benefits, a study published in 2000 in the Journal of Leisure Research found that ropes courses also demonstrate higher-level outcomes, including increases in effectiveness and efficiency, building relationships, developing understanding, setting goals, brainstorming ideas and task accomplishment.

Though they had facilitated recreational activities for children on the shores of Fern Lake since 1931, Vernon and Maggie Hilliard officially founded Camp Fern in 1934 with the addition of residential cabins built from logs sourced from the surrounding area. A five-week, all-girls session began each summer, followed by a five-week, all-boys session. The original activities offered, including English horseback riding, swimming, canoeing, riflery, archery, arts & crafts and educational programs on the natural ecosystem of the Piney Woods of East Texas, all remain. Through the years, more have been added - including water skiing, tennis, boxing, fencing, drama and a ropes course.

For student recreation there is a new Fitness and Recreation Center, a two-floor, 60,000 square foot space featuring six exercise rooms, including indoor cycling, functional training and yoga. There is also an on-campus aquatic center, the pool has a deep swimming section for scuba classes; it is open to students at limited times. UT offers sand volleyball courts, outdoor basketball courts, a fully equipped intramural sports gym with indoor courts, intramural softball fields, tennis courts, a ropes course, a soccer field, a running track, intramural baseball fields, a multi-use intramural field and a fully equipped workout center. UT's theater department hosts student produced and acted plays across Kennedy Boulevard in the historic Falk Theatre.

During that time, construction crews worked day and night to dismantle the tower and by July 6 it had been reduced to a four foot high stump with the pieces sold to a local junkyard for scrap. In August 2018, the New York City Economic Development Corporation and the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation announced that Luna Park would be expanded. The new rides would be located on a city-operated parcel between West 15th and West 16th Streets, next to the new Thunderbolt coaster. The rides would include a log flume, as well as a zip-line and a ropes course, that were originally scheduled to open in 2020.

Traveling road shows are not unheard of for this circus, every year there are several road show opportunities in which a few selected acts get to perform for banquets, weddings, and other gatherings. Additionally, the circus conducts a summer recreation program at Callaway Gardens Resort. Here, around twenty-five dedicated students from the Flying High Circus live and work at the gardens, working as performers and camp counselors for the Gardens' Summer Family Adventure for twelve weeks. The students perform multiple times a week, and work with the campers from ages 7-18, as well as running a Circus Recreation Program, and the Ropes Course for the Adults and Teens staying at the resort.

In 1980, Stephen Bacon wrote the seminal adventure therapy The Conscious Use of Metaphor in Outward Bound, which linked the work of Milton Erickson and Carl Jung to the Outward Bound process. Project Adventure adapted the Outward Bound philosophy for school environments and used ropes course activities developed at the Colorado Outward Bound School into use at schools. Project Adventure emerged in Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School in Massachusetts in 1972 with a principal named Jerry Pieh, son of Robert Pieh, founder of the Minnesota Outward Bound School. Paul Radcliffe, a school psychologist, Mary Smithy, a staff member, along with a social worker from Addison Gilbert Hospital, started a 2-hour weekly outpatient group.

During the summer, Swabs are both physically and mentally tested. They will run obstacle courses, complete team ropes course challenges, learn basic sailing at the Jacobs Rock Seamanship and Sailing center, and do daily calisthenics, while also learning Coast Guard History, their chain of command, and various other bits of information (collectively known as "indoc"). Over the course of the summer, the Swabs are tested repeatedly on indoc through written and oral tests to prepare them for the Boards Indoctrination Exam the following spring, the final test of all the indoc learned over the whole year. Swab Summer is run by the 'cadre', rising 2nd Class (2/c) cadets (Cadets entering their Junior year) who themselves had just experienced Swab Summer two years prior.

Heights vary from a close to the ground to high up near the treetops. Canopy tours are largely marketed under the banner of ecotourism, although the environmental impact of any type of zip-line is a disputed topic. The terminology varies (canopy tour, zip-lining, flying fox) and the line between using zip-lines for ecotourism and zip-lining as an adventure sport is often not clearly drawn.; also a number of commercial sites such as Adrenaline: Flying fox & tree adventures, Adventure America: Zipline canopy tours Zip-line tours are now popular vacation activities, found at both upscale resorts and outdoor adventure camps, where they may be an element on a larger challenge such as a hike or ropes course.

Bolton decided in 1994 that he wanted to ‘be his own boss’ and he joined the recently established Ropes Course Developments (RCD) as a shareholder and Director. The company went on to build high and low adventure ropes courses for Center Parcs, First Choice Holidays, the Royal Air Force and many others across Europe and in South Africa. He was a co-founder of a national association and helped to push through safety standards for both the construction and training of ropes courses. These standards were ratified industry-wide and paved the way for the mainstream adoption of high and low ropes courses, which are now commonplace in the UK. As the business grew, Bolton established Vision Development Training, which operated out of Wokefield Park, now the De Vere Wokefield Estate in Reading.

Owens Auditorium was named to honor the many contributions made to Sandhills Community College by Dr. Francis Leroy Owens, Sr. Dr. Owens served on the Sandhills Community College Board of Trustees for twenty-two years. Named for Dr. John Dempsey, the current and only the second President of Sandhills, the Dempsey Student Center houses the college bookstore, areas for study, a gymnasium, a fitness center, locker rooms, a game room, a full-service cafeteria, dining areas, and the Ewing Leadership Center. Outside of the Dempsey Student Center is a basketball court, tennis courts, sports fields, a picnic shelter, walking trails and a ropes course. A sand volleyball court is planned. Computer Technologies, Hospitality and Culinary Arts, and Engineering Technologies are taught in the building named in honor of the college’s long-time board of trustees chair, George W. Little.

It is open year-round, and when summer camp is not in session, Camp Loma Mar is in use as a facility for conferences and retreats, as well as a nonprofit outdoor education program. Camp Loma Mar is surrounded by redwoods in the Santa Cruz Mountains, 10 miles east from the Pacific Ocean and 15 miles south of Half Moon Bay. The facilities on Camp Loma Mar's 100 acres include a swimming pool, an arts and crafts pavilion, a climbing wall, a zip line, an archery range, hiking trails, basketball and volleyball courts, Loma Mar's iconic gaga pit, and the requisite stage and campfire pit. Camp Loma Mar used to also have a low ropes course where remnants of it can still be seen near the creek close to their archery range Camp Loma Mar was also where the renowned Ragger Program was conceived and piloted in 1914.

As of 2020 Hampden-Sydney had expanded its academic offerings to include more than 50 majors and minors, with recent additions including majors in engineering physics and biochemistry and molecular biology. In 2017 the college added a new student center and renovated an existing facility to create a state-of- the-art center for the arts. A center for entrepreneurship and innovation was also launched in 2017. In recent years the campus has also added a high ropes course featuring a vertical climbing wall, suspended ropes obstacles, and zip line. In 2018 the college’s Wilson Center for Leadership in the Public Interest launched a four-year leadership development program, with 47 freshmen in the inaugural cohort. The center and program are named for the late Lieutenant General Samuel V. Wilson, a former Hampden-Sydney president who “combined the savvy of a spymaster with the grit of a hardened combat veteran,” according to a 2017 New York Times obituary.

At the Main Camp, there are 18 cabins (all named after American Indian tribes), the Cheff Lodge (including offices, the camp store, the dining room, kitchen, and multipurpose "Blue Room"), and one infirmary. The main camp's attractions include indoor and outdoor rock climbing walls, a low ropes/teambuilding course ("Monkey Village"), a high ropes course, the A-field (a grassy athletic field used for camp games), an archery range, a rock-throwing range, the Pioneer Cabin, one of four platform tents on camp, a bathhouse, two designated campfire areas with bench seating, the Liesveld Pavilion, an extensive Nature Trail, an arts and crafts building, and a nature center (which houses birds, snakes, lizards, turtles, frogs, ferrets, rats, and rabbits, among other animals). The North Beach features a swimming area for overnight campers with floating F-dock and water slide, a boathouse, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, and inflatable water climbing toys. The South Beach features a swimming area for day campers.

The company provided experiential outdoor personal, management and organisational development programmes for blue chip clients like British Airways, Microsoft and KPMG, as well as other high- profile organisations including the British Lions. In the early 2000s, Bolton and his partners set up the outdoor activity facilities and businesses, Aerial Extreme and Head 4 Heights. Following what he describes in his book as the ‘best worst experience’ of his life when the 2001 outbreak of foot and mouth disease in Britain and the economic fallout that followed the 9/11 attacks, meant that the market demand dried up and pushed Ropes Course Developments into liquidation, Bolton had to sell his family home to avoid bankruptcy in early 2002. Bolton decided to exit all business interests related to ropes courses in early 2002. Still an entrepreneur at heart, Bolton set about starting his first ‘virtual’ business and Mobile Team Challenge Europe (MTC) was formed.

The zoo includes among others: the Africarium (the only oceanarium of its kind which focuses exclusively on the fauna of Africa), the Madagascar Pavilion, the Odrarium, Terrarium, Zoolandia ropes course, Children's Zoo, the Ranch, as well as food and drinks outlets. Moreover, it houses a collection of a number of rare and exotic species such as manatee, okapi, bear cuscus, red hartebeest, Philippine mouse-deer, L'Hoest's monkey, and long-necked turtle. The zoo also actively participates in a number of initiatives and support programmes aimed at rescuing endangered species, sends zoo workers on rescue missions, runs open meetings such as ZOO na ratunek ("Zoo to the Rescue") and offers a variety of educational activities for children and teens. The zoo's breeding program has also had a number of major successes, which include the births of Pygmy hippopotamus in 2010 and 2012, Philippine scops owl (the only one in the world outside of the Philippines), reticulated giraffe in 2012 as well as the first in the world Sulawesi bear cuscus in 2018.

'B' were camp administrators for 22 years and were witness to major events such as the naming of Junianta, Mosakwa, Sachem and Tamarack Villages, the first night of the summer of 1967 when the Dining Hall burned to the ground, the replacement of the old cabins to the ones seen today and the Independence of Camp Hazen YMCA from the State YMCA of Connecticut When Mr. 'B' retired in 1977 he was honored by having the Bunting Dining Hall named after him. His successor, Russ Gormley was instrumental in developing the horseback program, the ropes course program, the naming of Tamarack Village and the biggest change in Camp Hazen YMCA history, going co-ed. The first female Executive Director, Sue Edmonds, was appointed in 1988 followed by Tim Millbern in 1995 who started the popular day camp program. Since 1999 Denise Learned has led Camp Hazen YMCA with the same focus as all of her predecessors, to 'help youth develop valuable life skills through camping experiences that build healthy bodies, open minds, and awakened spirits.
