On 7 August 1999, it was announced that Theme Park World would be renamed Sim Theme Park in North America, and would be released as part of Maxis' (a sister company of Bullfrog) Sim line. The renaming was to make the game easy to recognise by all types of gamer.

IGN concluded that SimCity Societies: Destinations "finally starts to make SimCity Societies feel worthy of the SimCity name." The series has been praised for its combat system, gameplay and story, with some criticism for repetitiveness between games. Jon Mundy of NintendoLife gave the game a mostly positive review, praising its combat system and dialogue, while mentioning some criticism for its sharp learning curve.

Mondo Medicals is a freeware indie puzzle game developed by Jonatan Söderström, released for Microsoft Windows on September 13, 2007 and later for macOS on December 24, 2010. The game involves the player trying to reach an exit in several mazelike levels by solving counterintuitive puzzles, against the backdrop of a surreal narrative revolving around the search for the cure for cancer. The game saw recognition in the indie game community and was praised for its unique artistic style and atmosphere, though it was also criticized for its repetitiveness.

GameSpot awarded the game with an 8.0 out of 10 score, citing that "Reus grows into a game that presents complex challenges, a great deal of flexibility, and the freedom to determine your own standards of success, or to simply enjoy experimenting with the landscape and toying with humans." IGN gave the game a lower score, awarding the game with a 6.8 out of 10. The game's art style was praised, but its repetitiveness along with its "needlessly complex and unintuitive system of synergies and transmutations" were cause for criticism.

The episode "calls out" the obvious observation that The Simpsons have realized a vast number of ideas throughout their long- lived run. Some have found a certain reciprocity to this statement, finding instances of repetitiveness in The Simpsons itself while quoting South Park.
Magic Carpet 2 fixed many of the design complaints present in the first Magic Carpet. "The Chase" was put together initially as a jam thing that they wrote specifically for Road to Salina, as opposed to some of the other tunes in that film that were written before it, and they just happened to fit. Phil Brigham started playing "The Chase" by spontaneously playing the guitar riff that opens the tune. Alan Reeves played some rock/classical organ on top of it. At one point, they go to another section with four sustained chords which Alan Reeves came up with, just to get some relief from the repetitiveness of the riff.

These songs are referred to as earworms due to their parasitic characteristics; their entrance and exit from our mind cannot be controlled and despite our best efforts they may refuse to leave. In that aspect, catchiness, depending on how digestible the music is to the listener, has a level of annoyance unlike anything else. In this article Stafford reviews the work of neurologist Oliver Sacks and the conclusion by Sacks that this catchiness is due to the inherent repetitiveness of popular music, which can affect our ability to remember a song.

Heidi Kemps of VentureBeat rated it 85/100, calling the game "short but engaging" and praising the imagery, controls, gameplay, and music, but criticizing the "'busy' visual design" and "framerate drops" as well as the short length. Jaz Rignall of USGamer rated it 70/100, saying that it is "psychedelic" with "killer tunes", but also criticizing the length and eclectic nature of the game. Sparky Clarkson of GameCritics rated it 40/100, saying that the game's controls caused him "physical pain", the soundtrack was "boring" due to its repetitiveness, and that the score was "essentially meaningless".

Brett Todd of GameSpot scored the game 5.5/10, saying that despite the attempt to appeal to a new audience, it "won't win the franchise any new fans", due to its "predictable, abbreviated campaign". He described the story as "turgid", with the player's suspension of disbelief "derailed" by "cornball villains". While complementing the sound design as "thundering and atmospheric", he stated that the combat quickly becomes "mind-numbing" due to its repetitiveness. Noting that its boss battles can drag on to a half hour in length due to "absurdly overpowered" bosses and an overabundance of health pickups, he states that they are so slow that you "just want to give up on the whole thing".

Although Alleyway sold well enough during its production run, it has not been re-released as a Nintendo Player's Choice title, and reviews of the game have been mostly mixed to negative. Mean Machines gave the game a score of 33%, criticizing its repetitiveness and stating "this variant doesn't have much more to offer than the original [Breakout]". The magazine's staff added "once you've finished a couple of screens, you'll be bored stiff" and compared the game to its predecessor, Arkanoid, regarding the lack of power-ups in Alleyway. Kirkus Reviews praised the novella as having "the feel of a small epic yet never lapses into sentimentality or melodrama". Noting the author's social background before the Cultural Revolution, Rosemary Haddon felt Ouyang Duanli was Wang's persona and wrote that "driven by the proletarian standard, Wang Anyi has won a small victory in China's class struggle". Michael S. Duke, however, was highly critical of the novella for containing "all the major faults of Wang's writing: excessive wordiness, repetitiveness, unrealistic or stereotypical characterizations, overly abrupt changes in moral character, didacticism, and shallow moralizing". Aamer Hussein also noted the "insipid" approach but called Wang's examination of relationships "moving and perceptive" and the novellas an "honest account of a woman's search".

There are a few extra concerns and requirements for sound production for computer applications, including non-repetitiveness, interactivity and low memory and CPU usage. For example, the most computational resources are usually devoted to graphics, which in turn means that the sound playback is often limited to some upper memory consumption as well as CPU use limits. The vegetation may look pretty boring from the highway, but that’s because of the repetitiveness of widely spaced longleaf pines and the apparent continuity of the saw palmetto and occasional shrubby oaks, lyonias, and hollies.

Champions of Anteria received "mixed or average reviews", with a score of 67 out of 100 on Metacritic, based on twenty reviews. IGN.its Francesco Destri scored the game 7.8 out of 10, praising the "almost perfect alternation between the action-RPG and the more reflective management-style sections." He also lauded the graphics, voice-acting, and humour. Although he criticised the repetitiveness of the combat missions and the dearth of any degree of stealth gameplay, he concluded, "Blue Byte has managed to combine management, RTS and role play à la Diablo in a convincing way." 4playerss Dieter Schmidt scored it 77%, praising the graphics, the integration of action role-playing and city-building, and the use of Active Pause Mode, and calling the game "addictive".
A Krishnamurti biographer wrote that Huxley's foreword "set the mood to take the work very seriously", and another noted that by the end of May1954 the book was responsible for attracting larger audiences to Krishnamurti's talks. He observed that the quartet "produce much slicker materials in terms of melody progression, sound structure, and performance" and the "melodies, arrangements, vocals, and instrumentals fit together to a tee", asserting that the band is "now entering the stage of building its own realm". However, he expressed that CNBLUE's mini-albums "tend to have similar tinges", citing the repetitiveness of the "composing styles and themes of title-tracks, as well as repetition of patterned b-sides give listeners a feeling of déjà vu". He felt that the record was "quite an uneventful series of listens" in spite of its quality.

A test screening of Cyber Insects to 30- to 35-year-old males revealed that though some questioned her addition, most "understood that just like the [original] series, [the update] is a reflection of its times." The Hollywood Reporter's critic enjoyed some sparkling moments of dialogue in the teleplay, but criticized the film's pacing and the repetitiveness of the "overwrought emotional atmosphere" created by the threatened destruction of civilization. The reviewer remarked that Héctor Elizondo and Jeffrey Tambor stole the show with "inimitable style" in voice acting, while animation directors Marlene May and Ron Myrick "brilliantly created two visually intense worlds" with "fantastic" animation.
Dennis Harvey of Variety called the film a "low-budget ripoff" of Duel that suffers for the absence of both Dennis Weaver and the expected exploitative content. Frank Scheck of The Hollywood Reporter, in comparing it negatively to Duel, wrote, "Director Bafaro shows little aptitude for the driving sequences, which are stunningly dull in their repetitiveness and lack of visual flair." Maitland McDonagh of Film Journal International wrote, "Pitched somewhere between Duel and Joy Ride, this motor-psycho picture fails to stake out new territory or ring any significant changes on a decades- old formula." Noel Murray of the Los Angeles Times also compared it negatively to Duel, saying that it reworks Duel into a film with "two nondescript heroes instead of one" and a series of boring cuts between the two vehicles.

Each of the four films had its premiere at the New York Film Festival, while Mystery Train was in competition at the 1989 Cannes Film Festival. Jarmusch's distinctive aesthetic and auteur status fomented a critical backlash at the close of this early period, however; though reviewers praised the charm and adroitness of Mystery Train and Night On Earth, the director was increasingly charged with repetitiveness and risk-aversion. A film appearance in 1989 as a used car dealer in the cult comedy Leningrad Cowboys Go America further solidified his interest and participation in the road movie genre.
Based on the show Superman: The Animated Series, Titus Software's Superman for the Nintendo 64 (often referred to as Superman 64) has the player control Superman as he is challenged by his nemesis Lex Luthor to help save the people of Metropolis. Upon release, the game was heavily panned for its unnecessary repetitiveness, difficult and confusing objectives, poor controls, numerous glitches that interfere with gameplay, and poor graphics. Notoriously, the game has an introductory ring maze sequence that the player is given no warning about, and has a time limit that leaves nearly no room for error. The ring maze section was exacerbated by the extremely short draw distances covered by distance fog, which is explained in-game as being an aspect of the virtual reality simulation of Metropolis the game is set in, but previously described as "Kryptonite fog" by developers.

Canaletto's painting began to suffer from repetitiveness, losing its fluidity, and becoming mechanical to the point that the English art critic George Vertue suggested that the man painting under the name 'Canaletto' was an impostor. Uroboros quickly received positive reviews, being acknowledged as an experimental album for the band, and a defined shift back to the band's roots, while retaining the metal elements of the recent works. Allmusic chose Uroboros as an "AMG Album Pick", praising the release for its variety and willingness to escape the band's stereotypes; Another oft-mentioned aspect is the continued use of Japanese lyrics by Kyo, however, the album was also advertised with specific attention to the English revisions of "Dozing Green" and "Glass Skin", while other tracks also had heavy use of English. Several professional reviews have said the use of Japanese is something that could preclude the band having mainstream popularity, but some approve of the band's consistency with their native language. A negative that some reviewers identified is repetitiveness in the album's style, though this was interpreted as a strong point by JD Considine of Revolver.

A Shipwreck in the Sand received mainly positive reviews from music critics and fans alike. It peaked at number thirty three on the Billboard 200 album chart, a position higher than 2005's Discovering the Waterfront, however not reaching the height of its predecessor, Arrivals & Departures. Daniel Thompson of Music Emissions suggested the album "may very well be the band's best album to date", and praised the diversity of musical styles present on the album, however criticized the repetitiveness of the lyrics stating, "it gets annoying hearing about the same thing in every song". Drew Beringer of AbsolutePunk also gave a mainly positive review, calling it an "enjoyable, catchy album that digs deeper than most bands in its genre", giving the album an overall rating of 77% and saying although "musically, the album doesn’t implement a new sound or direction" it is "a refinement and polishing of the things the band has tried over the years".
Dragon Ball Xenoverse received fair reviews. On review aggregating website Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating in the 0–100 range, the PlayStation 4 version holds the score of 69/100 based on 50 reviews, while the Xbox One version holds 67/100 based on 18 reviews. Popular Japanese video game magazine Famitsu gave the game an overall score of 30/40 saying that it "isn’t without its faults and flaws" noting the repetitiveness of in-game missions and lag in team battles as its main drawbacks, concluding that the game is "aimed at Dragon Ball fans" and it might "appeal to fighting game fans and gamers that love fast action games". IGN gave the game a score of 6.7 out of 10, praising its "true-to-form graphics", unique story and customizable characters while criticizing its "shallow combat" and "unfair missions", noting that the game might appeal to "someone who enjoys anime, fighting, and role-playing games".
" Greg Edwards of Maxim gave the PS2 and Xbox versions a score of nine out of ten and stated: "Tons of tracks, events, and online races give Revenge plenty of variety, but it's the blinding speed and the velvety smooth controls that make this the best racing game of the year." Eliot Fish of The Sydney Morning Herald gave the game four-and-a-half stars out of five and called it "relentlessly intense". However, Tim Meston of The Times gave it four stars out of five and stated: "The locations are varied, but with the usual generic locations, and a repetitiveness notic[e]able in the track layout for each stage is reduced somewhat by the addition of numerous shortcuts along each route." Scott Jones of the Hartford Courant gave it three stars out of four and called it "a car insurance agent's worst nightmare," but added that "there's still something a bit cold and heartless about the 'Burnout' series.

The developers focused on creating a story with strong narratives, while underlining gameplay with a sense of paranoia, and designing in-game decisions that are of moral gray areas and weight, which influence and affect later parts of the game. Design of the game's setting was based on various elements of 1960s British culture, with the developer, Compulsion Games, seeking inspiration on dystopian societies from various influences in the media, such as Brazil, Nineteen Eighty-Four, Animal Farm, Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World, and heavily on the MaddAddam trilogy. Work on the game began with a Kickstarter funding campaign in 2015, before the developers were acquired by Microsoft Studios in 2018, supporting the developers to work on a version for the Xbox One. It received mixed reception upon release, with praise mostly focusing on its themes, story and characters, while being criticized for its gameplay mechanics, perceived repetitiveness, and various technical issues.

The different episodes, however, have good suspense and carefully avoid the trap of repetitiveness. Trajković has been at the forefront of Serbian post- modernism. Ever since his earliest works (Tempora Retenta, 1971; Four Nocturnes, 1972; Duo for Piano and Orchestra, 1973; Bells for piano solo, 1974), his rich erudition has been a logical journey towards a postmodern synthesis imbued with an exploration of the range of avant-garde, and the spirit of 20th-century French music. Arion, Le Nuove Musiche Per Chitarra Ed Archi (1979) is regarded as the key achievement of this style's early phase in Serbian music; here the composer applies the postmodern repetitiveness to a chord progression originating in extended jazz modality, building a clear musical form in which quasi-improvisational guitar solos alternate with an extremely slow succession of chords introduced by the strings. It is the simplicity, contemporaneity and effectiveness of the piece that deeply impacted the Serbian music of the early 1980s.
