The partnership with Capel Hanbury Leigh at Pontypool proved successful and after the first two years George received £8,300 in profits.

Muzaffar now hearing that Mírza Abdúr-Rahím Khán had been joined by Naurang Khán and other nobles with the imperial army from Málwa, quitted Khambhat, and made for his old place of shelter in Rájpípla. Finding no rest in Rájpípla, after fighting and losing another battle in the Rájpípla hills, he fled first to Pátan and then to Ídar, and afterwards again repaired to Lúmbha Káthi in Khiri. In reward for these two victories, the emperor bestowed on Mírza Abdúr- Rahím Khán the title of Khán Khánán. Bharuch now submitted, and Muzaffar sought shelter with Amín Khán Ghori at Junagadh, by whom he was allotted the town of Gondal as a residence.

After the collapse of the socialist system in Mongolia, Gantuya worked for the Asian Development Bank, United States Agency for International Development and other institutions as an economic analyst and consultant, and later she had held strategic development positions in largest conglomerates in Mongolia, such as Tavan Bogd Group. In 2012, Gantuya quitted her successful career and founded Art Space 976+ (formerly known as 976 Art Gallery) with a desire to promote contemporary art of Mongolia. Within few years, Gantuya and her team managed Art Space 976+ becoming an important cultural hub of Ulaanbaatar city, by hosting experimental exhibitions, performances, and open discussions with leading contemporary artists of Mongolia, all the while collaborating with renowned international artists.

George William Wood was born in Leeds, the son of William Wood, a Unitarian minister who was Joseph Priestley's successor at the Mill Hill Chapel, amateur botanist and campaigner against the Test Acts. His mother was Louisa Ann née Oates, the daughter of a wealthy Leeds family.Wykes (2004) Wood moved to Manchester around 1801 and became a prominent businessman there but, as a memorial in the Upper Brook Street Chapel cited, "having early in life engaged in commercial pursuits ... he quitted the pursuits of wealth for the nobler objects of public usefulness." He was member of parliament for Lancashire South from 1832 to 1835, and for Kendal from 1837 until his death.

It is still remembered locally as 'Qabri sodoma' in local Oromo language. On May 30, 1991, the town came under the control of the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) and was made the administrative center of the OLF-held areas in the former provinces of West Hararghe, Arsi and Bale. The most memorable event of that time was the Oda Bultum festival, where about 800,000 Oromos came together at Gelemso and Oda Bultum to celebrate the resurrection of the ancient Chaffe Gadaa assembly tradition. A letter written by the Earl of Shaftesbury in 1787 provides more detail as to Monmouth's capture: :The tradition of the neighbourhood is this: viz. At the outbreak of the French Revolution he was stationed at Valenciennes, where he contrived for a time to keep order, and facilitated the escape of the French emigrés by way of Namur; but, in 1790, he hastened back to Paris to assist the king. At the urgent entreaty of the comte d'Artois in 1791 he quitted Paris for Coblenz, accompanied Artois to Vienna, and was sent to the court of Saint Petersburg the same year to enlist the sympathies of Catherine the Great for the Bourbons. He received an estate from Catherine, and although the gift was rescinded by Paul I, another was eventually granted him. He died in exile at Grodek in Volhynia on 23 July 1805.

She also plays her proper part in the 'heroic cantata' created by the composer Francesco Bianchi and the librettist Lorenzo da Ponte, entitled "The Wedding of the Thames and Bellona" (Le nozze del Tamigi e Bellona).

The Dutchess of Chandos is greatly missed by the poor in this rigorous season.

Pressure to disestablish the Presbyterian Church of Scotland began in 1832, with dissidents like Thomas Chalmers arguing that a state church tended "to secularize religion, promote hypocrisy, perpetuate error, produce infidelity, [and] destroy the unity and purity of the Church".Quoted in E. Halévy, The Triumph of Reform (London 1961) p. 135–136 However, focus swiftly shifted to the question of lay patronage within the Church, not its separation from the state; and it was only well after the dissident split that created the Free Church of Scotland, on the grounds that "they quitted a vitiated Establishment",Chalmers, quoted in E. Halévy, Victorian Years (London 1961) p. 74 that the Free Church joined William Ewart Gladstone in calling for the disestablishment of the Church of Scotland itself.

Choi once helped the party's ex-President Ahn Cheol-soo, but due to the disagreement of Ahn's decision to merge with the Bareun Party, he quitted and joined the Party for Democracy and Peace (PDP) in 2018. In August, he launched his bid for the party's presidency but came behind of Chung Dong-young and Yu Sung-yup, made him as one of the Vice Presidents.

In the summer of 1541, Hindal had repeatedly asked for the Emperor's permission to attack and occupy the rich province of Sehwan in Sindh, but was not allowed, due to an ongoing negotiation between the Emperor and Shah Hussein regarding some procurement of resources. However, as soon as the negotiations were made, Hindal was at length authorized to reduce the district, and informed that the Emperor himself would soon visit the prince's camp. Shah Hussein had fortified the town of Sehwan, and now ordered the surrounding country to be laid waste. Humayun, alarmed by some intimations that had reached to him, of Hindal's having a design to desert from him and march to Qandahar, quitted for a short time the gardens of Baberlu and proceeded to Hindal's camp.

Chauncy was the eldest son of Charles Chauncy, and was born on 23 August and baptised at Ware, Hertfordshire, on 30 August 1632. He went as a child to New England with his father, and was entered at Harvard University in 1651, where he studied both theology and medicine, but, coming to England, completed his education at Oxford University, where he proceeded M.A. Before 1660 he was given the rectory of Woodborough, Wiltshire, where he resided until ejected by the Act of Uniformity in 1662. Thereupon he removed to Andover, Hampshire, where he took charge of a congregational church. On 5 July 1669 he was admitted an extra-licentiate of the College of Physicians. ‘Having,’ says Calamy, ‘quitted Andover some time after the recalling of Charles's Indulgence, he came to London with a design to act chiefly as a physician’.

On 14 May 1805 he also took El Felix, a Spanish letter- of-marque of six guns and 42 men. In the ensuing Battle of Long Island on August 27, 1776, the British outflanked the American positions, driving the Americans back to the Brooklyn Heights fortifications.

When Lily Tay asked Sek if he is afraid of killing, he said no as he had killed five people before laughing. She also said that Nyu tried to impress her with shopping and wanting to make her his girlfriend but she refused because she herself already having a boyfriend and to her, Sek was merely a customer. Ng Hien Chong, alias Ah Tiong, a bouncer who worked in the same lounge as Lily Tay but quitted the job at the time of Sek's trial, also testified that Sek told him about the five murders he committed, and had found out from Lily Tay that she also received the same information from Sek. Apollonia and a whole group of early martyrs did not await the death they were threatened with, but either to preserve their chastity or because they were confronted with the alternative of renouncing their faith or suffering death, voluntarily embraced the death prepared for them, an action that runs perilously close to suicide, some thought. Augustine of Hippo touches on this question in the first book of The City of God, apropos suicide: > But, they say, during the time of persecution certain holy women plunged > into the water with the intention of being swept away by the waves and > drowned, and thus preserve their threatened chastity. Denham's exploits are briefly mentioned in Jules Verne's Five Weeks in a Balloon, Chapter 30: 'My dear fellow, we are now upon the very track of Major Denham. OVL, IOC, OIL to invest $5bn in Iran gas field, Times of India, 25 June 2009 In September 2009, the Mehr news agency reported a Pakistani diplomat as saying "India definitely quitted the IPI (India-Pakistan-Iran) gas pipeline deal", in favour of the India–United States Civil Nuclear Agreement for energy security. Iranian officials however said India is yet to make an official declaration. In 2010, US officials warned New Delhi that Indian companies using the Asian Clearing Union for financial transactions with Iran run the risk of violating a recent US law that bans international firms from doing business with Iranian banks and Tehran's oil and gas sector, and that Indian companies dealing with Iran in this manner may be barred from the US. The United States criticises the ACU of being insufficiently transparent in its financial dealings with Iran and suspects that much of their assets are funnelled to blacklisted organisations in Iran such as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

There is an inscription above a doorway in Lochbuie House farm square that states: "After leaving Moy Castle the Lochbuie family resided in this house from 1752 to 1789 and it was in this house that Dr. Johnson and Mr. Boswell were entertained in 1773 by John MacLaine XVII chief of Lochbuie." Samuel Johnson wrote: > We came without any difficulty, at evening, to Lochbuy, where we found a > true Highland Laird, rough and haughty, and tenacious of his dignity; who, > hearing my name, inquired whether I was of the Johnstons of Glencroe, or of > Ardnamurchan. Heracleides was at first triumphant; twenty-five generals, of whom he was one, were appointed to take the command, and Dion retired in disgust, accompanied by the mercenary troops in his pay, to Leontini.

Daniell and Nicholson accused Markham of not only harboring pirates but profiting from their activities, which he vehemently denied: "Governor Nicholson alleges that I got great matters by Day's commission, but I solemnly declare that I had not the value of a farthing for it, and gave it only in view of the common danger." Day's crew attempted to recruit more volunteers for their voyage, some of which gave depositions for Governor Nicholson. One such testimonial preserved part of Day's pirate Articles: "part of the Articles (according to the best of his remembrance) were that if it so hap'ned that if they got a better ship & quitted the Brigantine that then they should allow such a proportion of their gettings in satisfaction of the sd Brigantine, that he that stole to the value of a piece of 8 from another should be put upon a maroon'd Island, that he that was wounded in any engagement should have such an overplus share of slaves if they took any, with several more such like articles." After provisioning in Pennsylvania and obtaining his commission, Day took his brigantine to the Caribbean, sailing to Curacao and then across the Atlantic to Holland.

Under the hegemony of internal left, PSIm quitted the Concentration, claiming that it was not the ideal place for "authentic revolutionary" forces. Moreover, the party decided to leave the reformist General Confederation of Labour led by Bruno Buozzi, who wanted to join the Sindacati Rossi ("Red Unions") formed by the communists. Meanwhile, the fusionist fraction of Nenni managed the confluence into the new party, during a congress known as the 21st Congress or Congresso dell’Unità ("Congress of Unity") held in the House of French Socialists between 19 and 20 July 1930 in Paris. Among the representatives of various foreign socialist parties, there were 47 delegates representing 1017 members for fusionist maximalists and other 50, representing 811 former members of PSULI. Nenni, along with Giuseppe Saragat, performed an operation intended to liquidate reformism and maximalism in favour of the establishment of a «rigorously Marxist and democratic socialism, adopting the class struggle as instrument and the liberation of humanity from every economical and political serfdom as purpose». The party was then affiliated with the Labour Socialist International, and the name chosen for the unified party was Partito Socialista Italiano-Sezione dell’Internazionale operaia socialista.

As an organisation based in the Saar Territory the Unterbezirk Saar was not subject to the party ban in Germany and the SPD Reich executive and the SPD Saar regional executive held consultations on the situation and what to do. Whereas the majority of the Reich executive abstained from and rejected any cooperation of the SPD with parties like the Communist Party of Germany (KPD), which was no less in favour of a dictatorship than the Nazis, the Saar executive felt like forming a cooperation with the Communists, who had long been fighting the Weimar democracy and the SPD as its supporters, denouncing Social Democrats as social fascists.Gerd-Rainer Horn, European Socialists Respond to Fascism: Ideology, Activism and Contingency in the 1930s, New York City: Oxford University Press, 1996, p. 66. After the Nazi takeover in Germany the Social Democrats and the Communists in the Saar Territory, with both their central party organisations in Germany destroyed and many of their fellow party comrades jailed or even murdered, quitted the joint opposition by the parties in the Regional Council against the autocratic government system in the Saar Territory.
