The fourth part is the Park Kolonnaden, a range of buildings running down the east side of the Potsdamer Bahnhof site, parallelling Daimler-Benz. Highway 88 then continues east another passing through the community of Sims before ending at Highway 27 at Washita.

K-7 and US-73 leave Leavenworth going west until intersecting K-192, then turn north, intersecting K-74 near Potter. At Atchison, K-7's overlap with US-73 ends at its intersection with US-59. After winding its way through Atchison, K-7 continues north and intersects K-20 near Bendena and US-36 west of Troy. The highway turns northwest along an alignment closely parallelling the Missouri River and after passing through White Cloud, ends at the Nebraska border northwest of White Cloud.

Numerous spur routes were created along the main routing of SH 3, especially during the 1920s: left State Highway 3-A was a state highway proposed on July 9, 1917, splitting from the main route at Houston and roughly parallelling it to the north through La Grange and ending at San Marcos. On October 8, 1917, the routing had changed slightly, now veering further north from La Grange to Bastrop. On December 17, 1918, SH 20 had been rerouted away from Bastrop, so SH 3A extended west to Austin, replacing a portion of SH 20. On August 21, 1923, this routing had been renumbered as SH 71 west of La Grange and SH 73 (now I-10) east of La Grange.

Two major tornadoes passed through already hard-hit Somerset County, Pennsylvania, within about two hours of each other, and taking almost identical tracks. An F2 tornado touched down near Markleton at 7pm EDT, crossed the path of the Salisbury tornado 6 miles east of Salisbury (where a fatality occurred from the F3 tornado two evenings prior), hit Boynton and ended in Pocahontas, tracking a total of 15 miles in the county. Damage was mainly limited to forested areas, and no deaths or injuries were reported. The second, and stronger, tornado touched down in extreme eastern Fayette Co., about 4 miles southeast of Indian Head. The tornado rapidly intensified to F3 status near Bakersville in Somerset County, and maintained F2 to F3 intensity as it tracked southeast, virtually parallelling the path of the F2 tornado that struck the county just two hours prior.

The historic South End of colonial Halifax was originally bounded on the south by "South Street", that being the few blocks located south of Citadel Hill, just as the North End comprised the area bounded on the north by "North Street". The areas south of South Street and west of the South Common was largely farmland and mixed forest which led to the development of large estates to take advantage of their proximity to the city and garrison. Over time, neighbourhoods began to develop outside the original city boundary and were amalgamated into the city proper. One of Halifax's largest megaprojects in history saw the completion in 1918 of a major railway line through a deep rock cut for several kilometres, parallelling the shore of the Northwest Arm, to serve a new railway station at the south end of the city's business district.

Though Samash- shum-ukin, an Assyrian prince, being installed as the King of Babylon was in a way an embodiment of Assyrian hegemony, Shamash-shum-ukin's coronation ceremony (parallelling that of Ashurbanipal) and the return of the Statue of Marduk were efforts made to portray him as an independent king of Babylon. Samash-shum-ukin was the only member of the Assyrian royal family (the Sargonid dynasty) to accede to the Babylonian throne and intentionally never to the Assyrian one. The only other Sargonid prince who ruled Babylon and not Assyria was Shamash-shum-ukin's uncle Ashur-nadin-shumi, though he had been the crown prince of Sennacherib and the intended successor in Assyria as well. Though Ashurbanipal, as King of Assyria, was more powerful, Shamash-shum- ukin's kingship of Babylon, important to the Assyrians for military, political, religious and ideological reasons, was prestigious in its own right.

US 85 in Texas begins at the Mexico–US border with US 62 and travels north through El Paso, beginning at the Santa Fe Street Bridge, and following Santa Fe Street, then Paisano Drive westward, along the Rio Grande until Paisano Drive ends where it joins with Interstate 10, about before both reach the New Mexico border. The route is concurrent with I-10 for the remainder of its route within Texas. The original route of US 85 in Texas had the highway concurrent with Doniphan Drive (after Paisano Drive), and parallelling the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway through the Mesilla Valley communities of Canutillo, Vinton and Anthony before crossing the Texas/New Mexico state line in Anthony, New Mexico, then following the road which is now New Mexico State Road 478 (NM 478) up the Mesilla Valley to Las Cruces. This route is marked as Texas State Highway 20 north of the intersection with Mesa Street/Country Club Drive.

Marker at the western terminus of the Lincoln Highway in San Francisco In California, the Lincoln Highway followed two different routes over the Sierra Nevada. The Sierra Nevada Northern Route from Verdi, Nevada to Sacramento followed the old Dog Valley / Henness Pass route from Verdi to Truckee, then westbound on Donner Pass Road (old US 40) up to the top of Donner Pass, then continuing west on Donner Pass Rd, Hampshire Rocks Rd and various other mountain roads parallelling I-80 through Emigrant Gap, Magra, Colfax, Weimar, Applegate, and Auburn. The route then continued southwest on what became old US 40 through the northeastern Sacramento outreaches of Newcastle, Loomis, Rocklin, and Roseville, then turned south on Auburn Blvd to Citrus Heights, then turned southwest, following Auburn Blvd, Del Paso Blvd, and 12th Street into downtown Sacramento to the California State Capitol. The Sierra Nevada Southern Route from Stateline, Nevada and Lake Tahoe to Sacramento followed the Pioneer Trail and Meyers Grade Road to the top of Echo Summit, then westbound on Johnson Pass Rd to US 50, then westbound on 50 (with many adjacent parallel jogs on mountain roads) through Twin Bridges, Strawberry, Kyburz, Whitehall, Riverton, and Pacific House.

It then led in a north-westerly direction, following the right (south/west) bank of the Black Water river (in essence, parallelling the route of the modern A835 road); it then passed through the glen at Glascarnoch (note that Loch Glascarnoch did not exist then – it is a man-made loch created in the mid-1950s ), rising to and continued as far as Braemore Lodge (where the A832 road now branches off). A steep descent of in the space of - a challenging gradient of 1-in-26 - would have been required to bring the line to sea-level at the head of Loch Broom; but the engineers instead planned to construct a tunnel through the hillside on the west side of the descent, and then descend to the mouth of the River Broom, after which the line would follow the coast as far as Ullapool. The terminus would have been at the junction of Shore Street and Quay Street, at the end of the pier. The total measured distance was just over (to be precise: thirty-three miles five furlongs four chains and fifty links).
