Cleopatra killed herself on 12 August 30 BC. Most accounts say she put an end to her life by the bite of an asp conveyed to her in a basket of figs. Octavian had Caesarion killed later that month, finally securing his legacy as Caesar's only 'son'. Octavian's victory at Actium gave him sole, uncontested control of "Mare Nostrum" ("Our Sea", i.e., the Roman Mediterranean) and he became "Augustus Caesar" and the "first citizen" of Rome.

After recognizing the case, Pope Clemens IV in the bull of May 22, 1267 annulled all previous candidacies and appointed one of his chaplains, Mikołaj, to whom he also gave the episcopal consecration to the post of the Poznań bishop. However, in the bullet against Falenty, the Pope used the wording venerabil fratrem nostrum V. episcopum quondam Poznaniensem, which suggests that he acknowledged the validity of his consecration. The fate of Falenty is unknown. He seems to have returned to the post of dean of Gniezno.

Insourced maintenance can be inefficient for small airlines with a fleet below 50–60 aircraft. They have to either outsource it or sell its MRO services to other carriers for better resource utilization. For example, the maintenance on South African Comair's 26 Boeing 737s is outsourced to South African Airways' Technical Department. Another example is Spain's Air Nostrum operates 45 CRJs and ATR72s and its 300-person maintenance department provides line, base maintenance and limited component repair for other airlines 20% of the time.

Two of the most notable Mediterranean civilizations in classical antiquity were the Greek city states and the Phoenicians, both of which extensively colonized the coastlines of the Mediterranean. Later, when Augustus founded the Roman Empire, the Romans referred to the Mediterranean as Mare Nostrum ("Our Sea"). Darius I of Persia, who conquered Ancient Egypt, built a canal linking the Mediterranean to the Red Sea.

Exultavit cor nostrum is a letter, also known as a Papal bull, from Pope Urban IV to the Mongol Ilkhanate leader Hulagu in 1263/1264. Nostrums would have made permanent changes to the character and cannot be removed once used. They would have been available in two types, stable and unstable varieties, the latter referred to as "potlucks". Stable nostrums would have been expensive, but the player would know exactly what effect applying the nostrum would gain them. Unstable nostrums would be cheaper or found lying around the environment, but upon use, would require the player to select one of four random effects to alter their character, an idea inspired by Heroes of Might and Magic according to Levine.

In a recent discussion of the "Dunkeld Litany", which was largely fabricated in Schottenklöster in Germany in late Medieval and Early Modern times, Thomas Owen Clancy offers the provisional conclusion that, within the emendations and additions, there lies an authentic 9th century Litany. The significance of this Litany for the question of Giric's authenticity and kingship is contained in a prayer for the king and the army, where the king named is Giric: > Ut regem nostrum Girich cum exercito suo ab omnibus inimicorum insiidis > tuearis et defendas, te rogamus audi nos.Hudson, p. 206.

The operation was undertaken after Italy ended Operation Mare Nostrum, which had become too costly for a single country to fund; it was costing the Italian government €9 million per month for an operation that lasted 12 months. The Italian government had requested additional funds from the other EU member states but they did not offer the requested support. "Joint Operation Triton" is under Italian control and focuses on border security within 30 nautical miles of the Italian shore. It began on 1 November 2014 and involves 15 other European nations volunteering services, both EU member states and non-members.
From 1897 to 1899 Joseph Grego was secretary of the Kernoozer's Club; (motto: Nostrum de armis quaerere,) a close and select little body of connoisseurs in Arms and Armour (“the armour-club par excellence in the world”) formed to promote ‘friendly intercourse between Gentlemen to study, collect and exhibit Ancient Armour and Arms.’Egerton Castle, English book- plates: ancient and modern, G. Bell & sons, 1893, p.300 The words kernoozer or kernoozling are late 19th-century humorous travesties on connoisseur. Its sense now extended to form a verb; I kernooze, he kernoozes, I/he should kernoozle.
Le Maistre's sudden departure from Munich in 1554 caused Daser to also assume duties as court composer. Although the court of Albert V, Duke of Bavaria was decidedly Catholic, Daser's predilection towards protestantism was stated in his Missa Ave Marie, where in the Credo section he added a word to the confession of faith "Et in unum Dominum nostrum Jesum Christum", at the time a clear signal of intent. In 1556 Orlande de Lassus arrived at the Munich court. The universal acclaim accorded to de Lassus caused discomfiture for Daser, as his role as primary musician became supplanted by de Lassus.
Tuberculosis – a video explanation Agrewala's immunological research has been focusing on the host- pathogen interactions and the complex roles played by macrophages and T cells in defense against pathogens. The team led by him studied Caerulomycin A, a pyridine-derived broad-spectrum antibiotic and its immunosuppressive activity, work that is being developed by Nostrum Pharmaceuticals which bought it for a reported 3 million. His studies identified the migratory properties of CD4+ T cell memory and demonstrated that immune response can be regulated by using costimulatory molecules. His team also developed a vaccination process against intracellular parasites.
At the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Sabate swam only in the 200 m individual medley. She established an Andorran record and a FINA B-cut of 2:23.24 from the Mare Nostrum Meet in Barcelona, Spain. She participated in heat one against three other swimmers Marina Mulyayeva of Kazakhstan, Alexandra Zertsalova of Kyrgyzstan, and Fernanda Cuadra of Nicaragua. Entering the race with the fastest-seeded time, Sabate faded down the stretch to touch the wall with a third-place time of 2:30.41, but missed a chance to lower her own national record by 7.17 seconds.
With a late ingress to Masonry in 1932 -being 42 years old- Romero entered Mare Nostrum, Lodge 11, of Madrid, Gran Oriente Español (GOE), (Spanish Grand Orient). He subsequently moved into the Grand Spanish Lodge (GLE, Gran Logia Española) of which Romero became Grand Chief in 1937, and the Governing Council's Great Expert by 1938. In 1939, as Counselor of the Masonic Family, Romero was responsible in France for coordinating support for exiled Masons and Republicans, altogether with the Relief Committee (Comité de Socorros). Spain brutally repressed Masonry, including -as in Romero's case- sentencing members to death by use of medieval torture instruments.
Once James has perfected his screams, they set out to tour the country fair circuit in England, peddling a quack nostrum touted as capable of warding off pain. It is at one of these acts that James catches the attention of a gentleman by the name of Canning, a collector of freaks and patron of artists. James understands Canning's overtures and willingly acquiesces to being kidnapped away from Gummer, who is beaten up by men in the employ of Canning. James finds himself being housed on a vast country estate, where he is largely left to his own devices.
Tunisian culture is a product of more than three thousand years of history and an important multi-ethnic influx. Ancient Tunisia was a major civilization crossing through history; different cultures, civilizations and multiple successive dynasties contributed to the culture of the country over centuries with a varying degrees of influence. Among these cultures were the Carthaginian – their native civilization, Roman (Roman Africans), Vandal, Jewish, Christian, Arab, Islamic, Turkish, and French, in addition to native Amazigh. This unique mixture of cultures made Tunisia, with its strategic geographical location in the Mediterranean, the core of some great civilizations of Mare Nostrum.

MSF is providing Maritime Search And Rescue (SAR) services on the Mediterranean Sea to save the lives of migrants attempting to cross with unseaworthy boats. The Mission started in 2015 after the EU ended its major SAR operation Mare Nostrum severely diminishing much needed SAR capacities in the Mediterranean. Throughout the mission MSF has operated its own vessels like the Bourbon Argos (2015–2016), Dignity I (2015–2016) and Prudence (2016–2017). MSF has also provided medical teams to support other NGOs and their ships like the MOAS Phoenix (2015) or the Aquarius with SOS Méditerranée (2017–2018).
He is cited by Samuel Beckett, whose character Murphy remembers the "beautiful Belgo-Latin of Arnold Geulincx" and in particular the gloomy nostrum (frequently repeated by Beckett to inquisitive critics) (roughly: "Where you are worth nothing, there you should want nothing"). In the novel Molloy (1950), Beckett's eponymous character describes himself as "I who had loved the image of old Geulincx, dead young, who left me free, on the black boat of Ulysses, to crawl towards the East, along the deck".Samuel Beckett, Molloy (London: Picador, 1979), p. 48. Geulincx is also mentioned in Beckett's short story "The End".
' At the stole: Redde mihi Domine obsecro stolam immortalitatis: quam perdidi in prevaricatione primi parentis: et quia cum hoc ornamento quamvis indignus accedere ad tuum sanctum presumo mysterium: presta ut cum eodem letari merear in perpetuum. Per Christum Dominum nostrum. 'Restore unto me, I beseech You, O Lord, the stole of immortality, which I lost through the collusion of our first parents, and inasmuch as I presume to draw near to Your holy Mystery with this adornment, unworthy though I be, grant that I may be worthy to rejoice with the same unto eternity. Through Christ our Lord.
As a result, the Mediterranean Sea was not in any real sense Italy's Mare Nostrum. While the Air Force generally did better than the Army or the Navy, it was chronically short of modern aircraft. As Italy's fortunes worsened, the popularity of the King suffered. One coffee-house ditty went as follows: By early 1943, Mussolini was so psychologically shattered by the successive Italian defeats that he was so depressed and drugged out as to be almost catatonic at times, staring blankly into space for hours while high on various drugs and mumbling incoherently that the war would soon turn around for the Axis powers because it had to.
The operation's search and rescue component is claimed by advocacy groups like the European Council on Refugees and Exiles to have saved thousands of lives, but the operation was politically unpopular and extremely costly for just one EU state. The Italian government had requested additional funds in order to continue the operation, from the other EU member states, but they did not offer the requested support. The operation ended on 31 October 2014 and was superseded by Frontex's Operation Triton, which operates a smaller search and rescue capability. Unlike Mare Nostrum, Operation Triton focused on border protection rather than search and rescue, and operates closer to the Italian coast.
Modern Chinese medicinal zǐhéchē "dried human placenta" Li Shizhen's (1597) Bencao gangmu, the classic materia medica of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), included 35 human drugs, including organs, bodily fluids, and excreta. Crude drugs derived from the human body were commonplace in the early history of medicine. Some of these TCM human drug usages are familiar from alternative medicine, such as medicinal breast milk and urine therapy. Others are uncommon, such as the "mellified man", which was a foreign nostrum allegedly prepared from the mummy of a holy man who only ate honey during his last days and whose corpse had been immersed in honey for 100 years.
In November 2014, the Italian-run rescue option Operation Mare Nostrum was replaced by Frontex's Operation Triton, due to the refusal by several EU governments to fund it. On 19 April 2015, a huge shipwreck took place in the Mediterranean Sea, causing the death of more than 700 migrants from North Africa. In November 2015 six Sicilian Mafia bosses, close to Totò Riina, were arrested for allegedly planning the assassination of Alfano.Italy uncovers mafia threat to interior minister In a phone-tapped conversations the gang said they wanted Alfano to meet the same fate as John F. Kennedy, the US President assassinated in an open-top car in Dallas in 1963.
Leading up to the Games, she scored a time of 2:03.35 to beat the insurmountable FINA B-cut (2:03.50) by 0.15 of a second at the Mare Nostrum Monte Carlo Swim Meet in Monaco. Swimming on the outside lane in heat one, Sverrisdottir touched with a 2:04.82 to round out a six-strong field to last place, but was unable to hold off the fast- charging Croatian swimmer Anja Trišić, who finished ahead of her by more than a second on a late surge, at the final turn. Sverrisdottir failed to advance to the semifinals, as she placed forty-fifth overall in the prelims.
In a diploma, dated July 26, 1324, King Charles I of Hungary refers to Basarab as "our voivode of Wallachia" (woiuodam nostrum Transalpinum) which indicates that at that time Basarab was a vassal of the king of Hungary. In short time, however, Basarab refused to accept the suzerainty of the king, for neither Basarab's growing power nor the active foreign policy he was conducting on his own account to the south could be acceptable in Hungary. In a new diploma, dated June 18, 1325, King Charles I mentions him as "Basarab of Wallachia, unfaithful to the king's Holy Crown" (Bazarab Transalpinum regie corone infidelem).
Born on 20 September 1885 in Valletta, Enrico Mizzi was the son of Maria Sofia (Marie Sophie) Folliero de Luna, daughter of the vice-consul of Naples,Gen Mare Nostrum and of Fortunato Mizzi, a pro-Italian Maltese politician, founder of the Partit Anti- Riformista. His mother died in 1903 and his father in 1905, when Enrico was only 17 and 19 respectively. Enrico studied in the Gozo seminary, and read law at the University of Rome La Sapienza and at the University of Urbino. He graduated in literature and science at the Royal University of Malta in 1906, and in Law at Urbino in 1911.
Killing Floor was originally a total conversion mod for the game Unreal Tournament 2004, first released in 2005. The lead developer Alex Quick was first approached by Tripwire Interactive about porting Killing Floor to their game Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45, but Quick did not follow through. A few years later, when their user base started to dwindle, Quick contacted Tripwire again to negotiate the port to Red Orchestra, and its distribution via Steam—similar to what Tripwire had already done with another Red Orchestra mod Mare Nostrum—and then later, the retail game. The mod version had its fifth and final official update in July 2008.
In the Tridentine form of the Roman Missal (also called the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite), the embolism, said inaudibly by the priest except for the final phrase, "Per omnia sæcula sæculorum", is: > Líbera nos, quæsumus Dómine, ab ómnibus malis, prætéritis, præséntibus et > futúris: et intercedénte beáta et gloriósa semper Vírgine Dei Genitríce > María, cum beátis Apóstolis tuis Petro et Páulo, atque Andréa, et ómnibus > Sanctis, da propítius pacem in diébus nostris: ut, ope misericórdiæ tuæ > adiúti, et a peccáto simus semper líberi et ab omni perturbatióne secúri. > Per eúndem Dóminum nostrum Iesum Christum, Fílium tuum. They arrive at the source, a massive device called E-Wave, a combination of the Mare Nostrum supercomputer and a quantum computer of his own design. After entering the password, the presentation starts at 3:00 AM, as Winston believes Kirsch would have wanted. In front of hundreds of millions of viewers, Kirsch explains that he simulated the famous Miller-Urey experiment and coupled it with various components using the laws of physics and entropy, along with E-Wave's ability to digitally speed forward time, to recreate what he believes is the moment of abiogenesis. This is Kirsch's proof that humanity was created by natural events.
New York: McGraw-Hill Book Company. During this time, Allport's father was encapsulated in a blurb in Samuel Hopkins Adams' exposé in Collier's Magazine on fraudulent medicinal cures, later reprinted as the book The Great American Fraud: Articles on the Nostrum Evil and Quackery. While much of the book focuses on large scale, heavily advertised patent medicines available at the turn of the century, the author states Allport "would never have embodied this article were it not for the efforts of certain physicians of Cleveland." Allport was criticized for diagnosing and treating morphine addicts via mail simply on the basis of letters and no in-person appointments.
This was followed by the School of Industry (currently ETSII) in 1901, the School of Business Studies (currently FCCE) in 1921, the School of Naval Engineering (currently ETSINO) in 1977, the School of Agricultural Engineering (currently ETSIA) in 1993, the Faculty of Telecommunications Engineering (ETSIT) in 1998, and finally, the Faculty of Arquitecture and Building (ETSAE) in 2008. The studies offered by the UPCT and the University of Murcia complement each other. Both Universities make up the International Excellence Campus for Higher Education and Research called 'Mare Nostrum'. Furthermore, UPCT is a member of the UP4 association, together with the Technical Universities of Madrid, Catalonia and Valencia.
Biggers is also a playwright, whose first play, "4½ Hours: Across the Stones of Fire," explores the fate of a family threatened by an impending strip mining operation in their community. The play toured nationally and appeared on Off Broadway at the Gene Frankel Theatre in New York City on June 4–13, 2010. He has turned many of his books, including In the Sierra Madre and State Out of the Union, into monologue performances. In Italy, Biggers cofounded the Mare Nostrum Theatre Project and has worked with Teatroaperto and other theatre groups in Italy, on "Damnatio Memoriae," a new play on contemporary immigration and Ancient Rome.
Prior to his appointment as prefect, Van Hove had published several noteworthy historical and archæological theses, the first of which, "Imago polemico-sacra primi sæculi religionis Christi seu fidei, doctrinæ et morum disciplinæ Ecclesiæ Apostolicæ" (Brussels, 1765), is based chiefly upon the writings of St. Paul. Then followed: "Sacra Iconographia a pictorum erroribus vindicata" (Antwerp, 1768); "Chanaan seu Regnum Israelis Theocraticum, in XII Tribus Divisum" (Antwerp, 1770); and "Messias seu Pascha nostrum immolatus Christus" (Antwerp, 1771). The author devotes much space to exegetical and critical digressions which have a special value. In the last of these works he gives an excellent chronology of the Gospels.
Banco Sabadell went public in 2001 and became a member of the IBEX 35 in 2004. Since 2007, the Bank has doubled in size and is currently Spain's fifth largest bank. On 5 October 2017, the board of Banco Sabadell decided in an emergency session to move their legal base to Alicante in response to growing political insecurity in Catalonia.
Du Plessis made her official debut at the 1997 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, where she established a South African record of 1:02.10, but finished fourth in the 100-metre butterfly. At the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, Du Plessis competed for South Africa in the women's 100-metre butterfly, along with her teammate Mandy Loots. Missing out of the Olympic Trials, she finished behind Loots from the Mare Nostrum Swim Meet in Rome, Italy with a FINA A-standard time of 1:00.66. She challenged seven other swimmers in heat four, including Hungary's 16-year-old Orsolya Ferenczy and Finland's three-time Olympian Marja Pärssinen.

He announces that he is sending a second bishop to work with Bishop Leo, Martinum fratrem et coepiscopum nostrum ibidem cardinalem constituere sacerdotem, Leoni vero fratri et coepiscopo nostro operam eius visitationis iniungere. The special authority of the Pope was necessary since both bishops were working in dioceses which were not their own. With the Arab invasions, the town of Aleria was destroyed and abandoned. The bishop and cathedral retreated to the hillside town of Cervione, above the beach of Campoloro, some 25 km north of Aleria.
On 14 January 2014, nearly four years after the formal opening of the airport, a first flight departed from Castellón-Costa Azahar. Air Nostrum charter flight YW2003 carried the Villarreal CF football team, which is sponsored by the airport itself, to San Sebastián for their Copa del Rey match against Real Sociedad. The first regular scheduled, albeit seasonal, flights from Castellón-Costa Azahar to Bristol and London Stansted, operated by Ryanair, began in September 2015. The European Union has opened a formal investigation into whether both the Canadian company that manages the airport (SNC-Lavalin) and Ryanair are receiving illegal subsidies from the regional government.
In a Venetian document dating 8 August 1401, he is mentioned as "Konstantin, lord of Serbia, in the territory around our territory of Durachi (Durrës)" (Constantini domini Servie, teritorii, quod est circa teritorium nostrum Durachii). In 1402, he was executed in Durazzo for unknown reasons, but it is generally believed that his absence at the Battle of Ankara had something to do with this. After Konstantin's death his wife Helena and their son Stefan first went to Venetians and then lived with her sister Maria. Since Maria was married to Filip Maramonte, the Venetians and Ragusans often referred to Stefan Balšić as "Stefan Maramonte".
Clicked peptide polymers are prepared by the azide-alkyne Huisgen cycloaddition also called the click reaction; which is commonly used in bioconjugation reactions to link molecules together with a stable triazole bridge. Peptide based polymers are produced from a cycloaddition variant of step-growth polymerization. The monomers used in this polymerization are oligopeptides with terminal azide and terminal alkyne groupsvan Dijk, M., Nollet, M., Weijers, P., Dechesne, A., van Nostrum, C., Hennink, W., Rijkers, D., and Liskamp, R. It's unknown whether this child came to term.
Italian territory claims by Italian irredentism activists in the 1930s. Italy's territorial claims were on the basis of re-establishing a Romanesque Empire, a fourth shore according to the concept of Mare Nostrum (Latin for 'Our Sea') and traditional ethnic borders. Evident in Italy's rapid takeover of surrounding territories under Fascist leader Benito Mussolini and claims following the collapsed 1915 Treaty of London and 1919 Treaty of Versailles which established feelings of betrayal. Mussolini and Hitler's similarities including a joint hatred towards the French and wanting to expand their territories brought the two leaders together, solidified in the Pact of Steel and later WW2.
Aydan Özoğuz, the German government's representative for migration, refugees, and integration, said that emergency rescue missions should be restored as more migrants were likely to arrive as the weather turned warmer. "It was an illusion to think that cutting off Mare Nostrum would prevent people from attempting this dangerous voyage across the Mediterranean", she said. Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, called for collective EU action ahead at a meeting in Luxembourg on Monday 20 April. In a press conference, Renzi confirmed that Italy had called an "extraordinary European council" meeting as soon as possible to discuss the tragedy; various European leaders agreed with this idea.
The plan was initially to travel between from Madrid to less popular AVE stations in the region of Catalonia namely Camp de Tarragona and El Prat de Llobregat (a suburb of Barcelona). This is like how Ouigo go smaller Tourcoing station instead of Lille-Europe. A series of delays meant that Renfe went back to the drawing board, and with the prospect of new competitors including the airline Air Nostrum, the Italian rail company Trenitalia and SNCF with Ouigo coming into the market in late 2020 meant that Renfe had to put the idea back on. So Renfe relaunched their low-cost high-speed service on the 11 December 2019, with the plan of launching during Holy Week 2020.
In 2013, the Maltese president described the Mediterranean Sea as a "cemetery" due to the large number of migrants who drowned there after their boats capsized. European Parliament president Martin Schulz said in 2014 that Europe's migration policy "turned the Mediterranean into a graveyard", referring to the number of drowned refugees in the region as a direct result of the policies. An Azerbaijani official described the sea as "a burial ground ... where people die". Following the 2013 Lampedusa migrant shipwreck, the Italian government decided to strengthen the national system for the patrolling of the Mediterranean Sea by authorising "Operation Mare Nostrum", a military and humanitarian mission in order to rescue the migrants and arrest the traffickers of immigrants.
In 2012 Croatian President Ivo Josipović awarded 3LHD with the Charter of the Republic of Croatia for an exceptional and successful promotion of contemporary architecture in Croatia and abroad. They represented Croatia at the Venice Biennale 2010, 12th International architecture exhibition with the group of authors, and took part in the 2008 ‘Mare Nostrum’ exhibition on the second International Architecture Biennale in Rotterdam, and in a group exhibition in Boston at Harvard University: "New trajectories: Contemporary Architecture in Croatia and Slovenia". 3LHD's projects have been presented in reputable international and Croatian magazines and journals, such as Japanese A+U, British The Architectural Review, German DB, Italian The Plan, Croatian Oris; and also in many architectural portals and web pages.
Leading up to the Games, he scored the scintillating marks of 56.54 (100 m backstroke) and 2:03.57 (200 m individual medley), respectively, to remarkably slide each under the FINA B-cut at the Mare Nostrum Barcelona Meet in Spain. In the 100 m backstroke, Fucik could not replicate his pre-Olympic feat with a 57.29 to round out the second heat in last place and forty-first overall from the prelims. Three days later, in the 200 m individual medley, Fucik stormed home on the rear of the breaststroke leg to take the fourth spot in a lifetime best of 2:02.85, but missed out the semifinals with a thirty- first overall placement.
He wrote several books, but the only one that survives is the Historia Ecclesiastica de Martyrio Fratrum Ordinis Divi Francisci dictorum de Observantia, qui partim in Anglia sub Henrico octavo Rege, partim in Belgio sub Principe Auriaco, partim et in Hybernia tempore Elizabethæ regnantis Reginæ, idque ab anno 1536 usque ad hunc nostrum præsentem annum 1582, passi sunt. The preface is dated from Paris, 1 January 1582. Other editions were brought out at Ingolstadt in 1583 and 1584, Paris in 1586, and at Cologne in 1628. Another of his possible works was a treatise entitled Oratio doctissima et efficacissima ad Franciscum Gonzagam totius ordinis ministrum generalem pro pace et disciplina regulari Magni Conventus Parisiensis instituenda, Paris, 1582.

After departing the Graham organization to experience other dance forms, Fini joined Erick Hawkins Dance Company, Kosovo Ballet, Staten Island Ballet, Boca Ballet Theatre, Mare Nostrum Elements, and Michael Mao Dance, with whom he has performed as principal dancer since 2011. In addition to his work as a dancer, Fini has collaborated extensively with the composer and musician, Noa Guy. This collaboration launched the second phase of Fini's career as a choreographer. After winning the Stefano Valentini Award for Emerging Choreographer in 2010, Fini would go on to choreograph Spider Dance for Cathedral of St. John the Divine, New York City Opera's production of I gioielli della Madonna, and Where the Light Falls for Kosovo Ballet.
In 1199 a long and bloody war was in progress between Parma and Piacenza over Borgo San Donnino. Pope Innocent III rallied the bishops of Lombardy and wrote threateningly to both combatants, attempting to force them to make peace. But the Pope also asserted Church ownership of the Borgo, and claimed the right to assign its civil jurisdiction."...ipsos Placentinos et Parmenses ad subeundem judicium nostrum sufficientissima in manibus tuis hinc inde praestita cautione, vel Parmenses, ut borgum ipsum nomine nostro in manibus tuis tenendum assignent restituendum per nos eis quibus jure fuerit assignandum, omni occasione escusatione, dilatione, appellatione et recusatione cessantibus, nostra fretus auctoritate compellas...." The title of the school hymn, "In Nomine Domini", is derived from the school motto and Psalm 123: adjutorium nostrum in Nomine Domini, "Our help is in the name of the Lord." The hymn was written in 1979 by Father Paul Keyte, the school chaplain at the time. Inspired by the Harrow School Song "Forty Years On", Father Keyte wrote in the 1979 School Annual, he was not merely trying to write a hymn but an anthem and something that, "would not only renew loyalty to the school but would also rekindle the flame of faith". The music was written by Brother Gerald Crooks, a long serving music teacher at the College.
In editions of the Roman Missal before 1970, Saint Michael was mentioned in the Confiteor as recited by the priest and again in the altar server's response at Mass. He was mentioned also in celebrations of Solemn Mass when the priest put incense in the thurible, reciting the prayer: Per intercessionem beati Michaelis Archangeli, stantis a dextris altaris incensi, et omnium electorum suorum, incensum istud dignetur Dominus benedicere, et in odorem suavitatis accipere. Per Christum Dominum nostrum. Amen. (Through the intercession of Blessed Michael the Archangel, standing at the right hand of the altar of incense, and of all his elect, may the Lord kindly bless this incense and accept it as a savour of sweetness).
As a young boy growing up in a Spanish family with a long and very distinguished maritime tradition, Ulysses Ferragut is regaled with tales of the sea by his retired uncle, the "Triton" (Apollon), and is particularly fascinated by his claim to have once seen the sea goddess Amphitrite. Though his lawyer father, Don Esteban, wants him to follow in his footsteps, Ulysses becomes a sailor. When he is a grown man (Antonio Moreno), Ulysses uses his life savings to purchase the Mare Nostrum, a fast, modern freighter, and prospers. However, he finally gives in to his wife, Dona Cinta, for the sake of their son Esteban, and agrees to sell his ship.

It was the place where Blasco Ibáñez wrote Mare Nostrum, a novel filmed later in 1926. The garden inspired by Andalusian and Arabian-Persian styles contains species such as Ficus macrophylla, Araucaria heterophylla , palm trees, banana trees or scented rosebushes. It is a tribute to Vicente's favourite writers : Cervantes, Dickens, Shakespeare or Honoré de Balzac, whose busts can be found at the entrance and to whom he dedicated several fountains and rotundas. Its main buildings are a small elevated villa with polychromatic pottery which houses a library and a personal movie projector room, and a main house (Villa Emilia) in the lower part of the property that dates from the 19th century.
A fraction anthem is a text spoken or sung during the Christian rite of Holy Eucharist, at the point when the celebrant breaks the consecrated bread. The term is used commonly in the Episcopal Church in the United States of America. The term is an approximate translation of confractorium, a term borrowed from the Ambrosian Rite. The prayer book Common Worship: Services and Prayers for the Church of England published by The Archbishops’ Council in 2000 and now in wide use within the Church of England includes the following optional Fraction Anthem: The older Alternative Service Book published in 1980 lists two fraction anthems for Rite A, the Pascha Nostrum and the Agnus Dei.
Pope Francis of the Roman Catholic Church tweeted "pray [to] God for the victims of the shipwreck off Lampedusa," while Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta tweeted that it was "an immense tragedy". António Guterres, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, commended the Italian Coast Guard for their quick reaction to the disaster. The Italian Government launched Operation Mare Nostrum in order to avoid new tragedies. Cross made with wood of broken immigration boats in Lampedusa Italian Deputy Prime Minister Angelino Alfano stated that the incident highlighted the need for European assistance to handle the continuing influx of refugees, declaring the shipwreck "a European tragedy, not just an Italian one[...] The toll is unfortunately a tragic one".
The best approximation of the monastery's date of foundation can be obtained from a document issued by the Arpadian royal chancellery in 1223. This document states that the territory on which the monastery was built – delimited by the Olt River at the north side and its tributaries the Arpaș River at the east, the Cârțișoara River at the west and the Făgăraș Mountains) at the south – was awarded by magister Gocelinus, for the blessing of his soul, through the Transylvanian voivod Benedict (pro remedio animae nostre per fidelem ac dilectum nostrum Benedictum tunc temporis vaivodam assignari facientes). It is known that Benedict was Voivode of Transylvania between 1202–1206 and 1208–1209. This means that the founding date must fall between 1202 and 1209.
Before 1295, his father Werner I had moved his seat away from Münzenburg to the nearby town of Lich after he had inherited another part of the Münzenberg Inheritance. Philip had a large water castle built at Lich, in order to protect the spot where the road crossed the Wetter river. While in the service of the German King Albert I, the king promoted Lich to the rank of town by a charter of 10 March 1300 – it had already been referred to as "oppidum nostrum" (our town) in 1297. In 1313, Emperor Henry VII promoted Königstein im Taunus to town rank as well, which had formerly belonged to the and had been part of the Falkensteins' domains since 1255.
Mussolini wished to create an Imperial Italy around his own idea of a "Mare Nostrum" and promoted the fascist project—to be realized in a future peace conference after the anticipated Axis victory—of an enlarged Italian Empire, stretching from the Mediterranean shores of Egypt to the Indian Ocean shores of Somalia and eastern Kenya. He referred to making the Mediterranean Sea "an Italian lake". This aim, however, was challenged throughout the campaign by the Allied navies at sea and the Allied armies and resistance movements on land. For example, Greece had easily been incorporated into the Roman Empire, but the new Greek state proved to be too powerful for Italian conquest, and Greece remained independent until German forces arrived to assist the Italian invasion.
The Fund for Orderly Bank Restructuring (FROB) held a majority shareholding of the financial institutions which in the judgement of the Bank of Spain require restructuring or winding up in accordance with Spanish Law 9/2012 (Banco Mare Nostrum, CEISS, Caja3 and Liberbank). Private shareholders own 55% of SAREB and the remaining 45% is held by the FROB. The creation of a separate asset resolution entity was an idea proposed by foreign specialists. Their proposals were initially contested and resisted by the Spanish authorities but later accepted as being the appropriate response to the crisis SAREB was established as a condition set by the European Union in exchange for aid of up to 100 billion euros to the Spanish banking sector.

The main altar is surmounted by a cupola bearing the words in Latin, "Christus Altare Nostrum" (Christ Our Altar). The cross on the cupola is 2.8 m by 1.6 m, weighs 88 kgs and was constructed by retired Senior Sargeant Norm Lieschke from Queensland maple donated by the Police Association. Within the main chapel are stained glass windows, designed by Stephen Moor of Sydney, those on the left in red tones (for the Crucifixion) with medallions representing the Old Testament, those on the right in blue tones (for Mary) with medallions representing the New Testament. To the right of the nave is the Chapel of Remembrance, with an eternal flame and memorial plaques for police officers who have died on duty.
On the morning preliminaries, Reynisson touched out Argentina's Eduardo Germán Otero to snatch the third spot and forty-second overall in heat 3 by 0.12 of a second, with a time of 55.12 seconds. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Reynisson qualified for the second time in the 100 m butterfly, by eclipsing a FINA B-standard entry time of 54.32 from the Mare Nostrum Monte Carlo Meet in Monaco. Reynisson challenged seven other swimmers on the third heat, including three-time Olympians Jeremy Knowles of the Bahamas and Camilo Becerra of Colombia. He edged out Becerra to take a fifth spot by a single tenth margin (0.10), posting his lifetime best of 54.17, just 0.15 of a second faster than his entry time.
Charles W. Macune, a top leader of the Southern Farmers' Alliance. Charles William Macune (May 20, 1851 – November 3, 1940) was the head of the Southern Farmers' Alliance from 1886 to December 1889 and editor of its official organ, the National Economist, until 1892. He is remembered as the father of a failed cooperative enterprise by the Farmers' Alliance in Dallas, Texas, and as the creator of the Sub-Treasury Plan, an effort to provide low-cost credit to farmers through a network of government-owned commodity warehouses. A Democrat, Macune opposed both the formation of the People's Party as well as the nostrum of free silver which served as the basis of the 1896 fusion of the Democratic and Populist parties.
He began his career in the Spanish Air Force, and has since worked in Aviaco, INDRA and, between 1997 and 2006, in several positions with the Iberia franchise partner Air Nostrum, where he became technical manager of workshop maintenance until his transfer to Clickair, prior to its merger with Vueling. At Vueling, he held the post of production manager, with responsibility for flight operations, training, quality, safety, maintenance, and ground operations. With a total of 47 aircraft and more than 1,600 employees under his command, he and his team achieved the highest ratings for punctuality, regularity, and customer satisfaction of any Spanish airline. He was CEO of Iberia Express from 2012 until he was appointed Iberia's CEO on 27 March 2013.
Frédéric Mariotti was born in Marseille and began his film career in the 1917 Georges Monca-directed La bonne hôtesse, starring Roger Vincent and Gabrielle Robinne, for Pathé Frères. In 1919 he appeared in the Louis Feuillade-directed crime drama Barrabas, which ran in twelve installments. This was followed by another film serial released the same year, La nouvelle aurore (also known as Les nouvelles aventures de Chéri-Bibi), directed by Emile-Edouard Violet, comprising sixteen episodes. One of Frédéric Mariotti's most internationally recalled roles is perhaps that of Toni in the 1926 United States Rex Ingram directed Mare Nostrum, which starred American actress Alice Terry and Spanish actor Antonio Moreno and based on the Vicente Blasco Ibáñez penned novel of the same name.

In this piece, he establishes four scenarios for the European Union's future: Europa Mercatus (single-market integration), Europa Nostrum (political integration), Europa Progressio (differentiated integration), and Europa Et Cetera (stagnation).
Scheduled civilian passenger flights are operated by EasyJet, British Airways and Royal Air Maroc. Following an agreement signed in Córdoba between the Governments of the United Kingdom, Spain and Gibraltar in September 2006, the use of Gibraltar Airport by both Gibraltarian and Spanish services was agreed. Gibraltar Airport will be adapted to have an entrance from Spain (as well as Gibraltar), in a similar manner to Basel and Geneva airports (which are also adjacent to borders). Iberia commenced direct flights between Madrid and Gibraltar on 16 December 2006 with GB Airways following on 1 May 2007. However, GB Airways discontinued its Madrid service on 30 September 2007 and Iberia subsequently considered using smaller aircraft, possibly from its Air Nostrum regional partner – indicating that neither operator may have been able to fill their planes with passengers.

Trinity Quad in Winter Trinity is the last undergraduate college at the University of Toronto that continues the tradition of Formal Hall during the academic year; High Table dinners are usually held after Evensong on Wednesdays. Before the meal, one of the Student Heads or another positioned member of college (in order of precedence determined by seniority) is responsible for saying the Latin grace: Quae hodie sumpturi sumus, benedicat Deus, per Iesum Christum Dominum Nostrum. Amen. (May God bless what we are about to receive this day, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.) Formal Hall is marked by the enforcement of a number of regulations known as “Strachan Hall Etiquette.” The most evident of these is the dress code, of which Trinity's distinctive academic gowns are the essential element for all members of college.
A contractual relationship was established in which the state of Oregon paid a set per capita fee for the housing of "indigent insane and idiotic persons" committed to the facility by the courts. Buoyed by state financial support, Oregon Hospital for the Insane was moved to a new permanent home in 1862, a building located on "Asylum Avenue" (today's Hawthorne Boulevard) on Portland's East Side, near SE 12th Avenue. In 1872 co-founder of the hospital A.M. Loryea, nearly two decades Hawthorne's junior, sold his half of the enterprise to his partner and entered into the patent medicine business under the business name "Oregon Medical Laboratory", marketing a nostrum prepared from "Unk weed" said to ameliorate arthritis."The Unk Weed Remedy, or, Oregon Rheumatic Cure," advertisement in The New Northwest [Portland], Feb.
The puppet Albanian Fascist Party became the ruling party of the country and the Fascists allowed Italian citizens to settle in Albania and to own land so that they could gradually transform it into Italian soil. In October 1940, during the Greco-Italian War, Albania served as a staging-area for Italian dictator Benito Mussolini's unsuccessful invasion of Greece. Mussolini planned to invade Greece and other countries like Yugoslavia in the area to give Italy territorial control of most of the Mediterranean Sea coastline, as part of the Fascists objective of creating the objective of Mare Nostrum ("Our Sea") in which Italy would dominate the Mediterranean. But, soon after the Italian invasion, the Greeks counter-attacked and a sizeable portion of Albania was in Greek hands (including the cities of Gjirokastër and Korçë).
The administrative divisions of the Roman Empire in 395, under Theodosius I. Depiction of Greek fire in the Madrid Skylitzes manuscript. During the First Punic War, the admiralty of the Roman Republic cunceived new and progressive ways of fleet construction, development and composition in order to successfully engage the Carthaginian navy. Victories at the Battle of Mylae, the Battle of Cape Ecnomus, the Battle of Cape Hermaeum and the Battle of the Aegates encouraged the Romans to pursue naval-based warfare and strategies in order to push the center of combat to the Carthaginian heartland in North Africa. By the end of the Macedonian Wars in the latter half of the 2nd century BC, Roman control over the Aegean sea was undisputed and full hegemony over the entire Mediterranean Sea, now referred to as Mare Nostrum ("our sea") had been established.
Surgeloose made his first Belgian team, as a 19-year-old, at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he qualified for the men's 200 m freestyle. He cleared a FINA B-standard entry time of 1:49.36 from the Mare Nostrum Barcelona International Trophy in Spain. He cruised to seventh place and thirtieth overall in heat five by a tenth of a second (0.10) behind Greece's Andreas Zisimos in 1:48.92. At the 2010 European Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, Surgeloose broke a new long-course Belgian record of 1:48.29 to round out the finale in the 200 m freestyle. Surgeloose's personal best and overhauling effort in the final propelled him up to the top 25 world rankings. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Surgeloose competed in both individual and relay swimming events.
In 2005 scheduled operations ceased after the airline was acquired by Panta Holdings which used to own VLM Airlines. It has since concentrated exclusively on providing ACMI services and in 2006 operations were moved to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Denim Air mainly targeted African, Asian and other willing markets, operating for United Nation High Commissioner for Refugees in Sudan and Central Africa, for the Norwegian Army in Afghanistan, for Veba Oil in Libya. The airline also operated aircraft for airlines, mainly African airline, Arik Air and Spanish airline, Air Nostrum, they also operated one aircraft for African airline, Air Affaires Gabon. On 18 February 2010, Denim Air ceased operations after all wet-lease contracts had ended within weeks and Dutch legal company De Vos & Partners was appointed as curator of wet-lease specialist Denim Air after it was declared bankrupt.
Julie Hjorth-Hansen (born 10 June 1984) is a Danish former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle and individual medley events. She placed among the top 10 swimmers in the 200 m individual medley at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has won a bronze medal at the 2004 European Short Course Swimming Championships in Vienna, Austria in 2:13.03. Hjorth-Hansen competed for the Danish swimming squad in the women's 200 m individual medley at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Leading up to the Games, she cleared a FINA A-standard entry time of 2:12.74 at the Mare Nostrum Arena International Meet in Canet-en-Roussillon, France. Hjorth-Hansen dipped under the 2:12 barrier in the prelims to secure her spot for the semifinals, checking in with a Danish record and fifth fastest time of 2:11.99.
At the local mayoral election in the same month, he "avowed himself a staunch supporter of the Protestant cause" and suggested that ministers looked "favourably" on the club and its supporters. Ultimately, however, he resigned his parliamentary seat in 1829 "in disgust" at the Wellington–Peel ministry's concession of Catholic emancipation, by accepting the office of Steward of the Chiltern Hundreds. At a dinner celebrating the return of his replacement, Richard Sanderson, another True Blue, he said he was "disgusted with the House of Commons", saying emancipation would be "the ruin of Old England". Nevertheless, he remained prominent in Colchester politics, although he admitted he was "wholly ignorant" of the currency question relating to beer and malt taxes, but hoped the ministry would alleviate the tax burden and "discount the radical nostrum of a property tax".
Communal dinner at Gonville and Caius College Gonville and Caius College maintains many traditions, and is unusual in that it offers two seatings in Hall six nights a week. Typically attended by between 200–300 students, Hall consists of a three-course meal served after 18:00 (First Hall) or 19:15 (Formal Hall); Formal Hall requires a gown be worn, also seats Fellows at high table, and is preceded by the benediction: Benedic, Domine, nobis et donis tuis quae ex largitate tua sumus sumpturi; et concede ut, ab iis salubriter enutriti, tibi debitum obsequium praestare valeamus, per Jesum Christum dominum nostrum; mensae caelestis nos participes facias, Rex aeternae gloriae.'' As at most Oxbridge colleges, it is tradition that only the Fellows may walk on the grass. The college also enforces the system of "exeats", or official permissions to leave the college.
The event was notable in that it was a heat-declared result (medals based on times from heats with no final swum), where Kapás won the heat for the top seeded swimmers by a comfortable margin; however, lost the event to Federica Pellegrini who had raced earlier in the 'slower' heat. She passed the Olympic A-standard in 800m freestyle and earned a quota for the Games at the first meeting of the 2011 Mare Nostrum series in early June. In July 2011 at the 2011 Swimming World Championships she set a new national record in the same distance with a time of 8:24.79, which was enough for the fifth place. In November Kapás suffered a rib injury, that forced her to miss both the 2011 European Short Course Swimming Championships and the United States–Europe swimming gala.
The College Grace is recited in Latin by a Fellow or Scholar (a student who achieved a First Class mark overall in the previous year) at the beginning of Formal Hall, and is as follows: > Benedic, Domine, nobis et donis Tuis, quae de Tua largitate sumus sumpturi; > et concede ut iis muneribus Tuis ad laudem Tuam utamur, gratisque animis > fruamur, per Jesum Christum Dominum nostrum. Amen. Translation: > Bless us, O Lord, and all thy gifts, which of thy goodness we are about to > enjoy; grant that we may use these generosities to thy glory, and enjoy them > with thankful hearts, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. When the High Table rises, the following concluding Grace is said Benedicamus Domino (Let us bless the Lord), with the response being Laus Deo (Praise be to God). This response was changed in the 1990s, from the previous response Deo gratias (Thanks be to God).
Shortly after his profession he was appointed sub-prior; and when the prior resigned in 1577, to pass over to the Carthusians, there was a strong movement to elect Vaux in his stead. Some, however, apparently feared that he would use his position to introduce a large number of his fellow- countrymen with a view to training them for the English Mission; a marginal note in the "Priory Chronicle" records, "Caenobium nostrum in seminarium pene erectum Anglorum." Three years later at the instance of Allen, he was summoned to Reims by papal authority to take up once more the perilous missionary work in England; the Chronicle notes his departure "with the blessing and leave of his Prior", 24 June 1580. Vaux left Reims on 1 August, and Boulogne on the 12th, arriving that day at Dover in company with a Catholic soldier named Tichborne and a Frenchman, who turned traitor.
The Nostrum system was scrapped in favor of using gear as they found that the system was too similar to other ones that the player would have available in equipping their character, compared to the gear option. Similarly, earlier demonstrations of the game did not use Salt to power vigors, but instead each vigor would have a limited number of uses before it was exhausted. While more can be found around the game's environment, the player would have only been able to carry a limited number of vigors into battle, with more powerful vigors containing fewer charges. The game's "1999 Mode" was a result of a conversation that Levine had with a college student after speaking at a college during the latter stages of Infinites development; the student explained his disappointment with BioShock in that none of the choices the player makes in that game has long-lasting impact.

Attila Dorn and Falk Maria Schlegel while performing "Where the Wild Wolves Have Gone" Powerwolf began working on the seventh studio album after the European tour, which took place in the winter of 2017 until October of the same year. The musical expression of the songs was influenced by the CD Metallum Nostrum, on which the band recorded cover versions of songs by various artists and which was released as a bonus to the previous album Blessed & Possessed (2015). This, according to guitarist Matthew Greywolf, showed the band that "they can play a lot more variations than they did in the past, and it will still sound like Powerwolf." For example, for the first time in history, bagpipes or flute were introduced to the Powerwolf music, a much wider index was used for the organ, and the band also recorded a piano-ballad for the first time in their career.
The document was issued by King Louis I, mentions that two members of local nobility, were granted "castrum nostrum Goray alio Lada... cum villis Lada, Radziecin...". The medieval Goray Castle, which was also called Lada Castle, probably was surrounded by a village, where servants and artisans dwelled. It is not known when the village was granted Magdeburg rights, it probably happened in the early 1370s, as in a 1373 document, a person named Demetrio de Goray is mentioned, which suggests that it already was a town in that year. In 1389, King Wladyslaw Jagiello confirmed Goraj’s charter. Until 1508, the town belonged to the Gorajski family, and in the 16th century, it was property of several noble families – the Firlejs, the Sienienskis, the Trojanowskis, and in 1595, it pas purchased by one of the most powerful magnates in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Jan Zamoyski, who in 1596 incorporated Goraj into his landed property, Ordynacja Zamojska (Zamosc Estate).
In his letter to King Edward I, Pope Martin recommended to him the services of Cardinal Joannes of S. Cecilia (Jean Cholet), a statement which is often interpreted as the appointment of Cardinal Cholet to an Embassy to England.See Müller, pp.798-800. The details of the letter itself, however, make it obvious that the Pope expects King Edward and Cholet to work through intermediaries (suos nuntios vel litteras) and the King's agents (vicarios et officiales tuos). In 1283 Cholet already had an all-consuming task--organizing a crusade for the conquest of Aragon.
There, following a prayer that the dead may rest "in the land of the living, in thy kingdom ... in the bosom of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob", etc., is found this continuation: "And keep for us in peace, O Lord, a Christian, well-pleasing and sinless end to our lives, gathering us under the feet of thy Elect, when Thou willest and as Thou willest, only without shame and offence; through thy only begotten Son our Lord and God and Saviour, Jesus Christ."Brightman, 57 We notice here the reference to the elect (in electorum tuorum grege), the prayer that we may be kept "in peace" (in tuâ pace disponas), the allusion to the "end of our lives" (diesque nostros) and the unusual "Per Christum Dominum nostrum", making a break in the middle of the Eucharistic prayer. The Syrian form with its plain reference to death ("the end of our lives") seems more clearly to be a continuation of a prayer for the faithful departed.
The eighteenth-century medical marketplace, a period often referred to as the "Golden Age of quackery", was a highly pluralistic one that lacked a well-defined and policed division between "conventional" and "unconventional" medical practitioners.; In much of continental Europe legal remedies served to control at least the most egregious forms of "irregular" medical practice but the medical market in both Britain and American was less restrained through regulation.; Quackery in the period prior to modern medical professionalisation should not be considered equivalent to alternative medicine as those commonly deemed quacks were not peripheral figures by default nor did they necessarily promote oppositional and alternative medical systems. Indeed, the charge of 'quackery', which might allege medical incompetence, avarice or fraud, was levelled quite indiscriminately across the varied classes of medical practitioners be they regular medics, such as the hierarchical, corporate classes of physicians, surgeons and apothecaries in England, or irregulars such as nostrum mongers, bonesetters and local wise-women.
The local patron was inserted at the same place in a few local uses. To what is here taken from the Catholic Encyclopedia one can add the text of an elaborate (but ungrammatical) form of the Confiteor found in the Paenitentiale Vallicellanum II, which has been attributed to the 9th century: :Confiteor Deo et beatae Mariae semper virgini, :et beato Michaeli archangelo et beato Iohanni baptistae :et sanctis apostolis Petro et Paulo :et beato Leutherio et Cassiano et beato Iuvenale :cum omnibus sanctis et tibi patri :mea culpa III vic., peccavi :per superbiam in multa mea mala iniqua et pessima cogitatione, :locutione, pollutione, sugestione, delectatione, consensu, verbo et opere, :in periurio, in adulterio, in sacrilegio, omicidio, furtu, falso testimonio, :peccavi visu, auditu, gustu, odoratu et tactu, :et moribus, vitiis meis malis. :Precor beatam Mariam semper virginem et omnibus sanctis :et isti sancti et te pater, :orare et intercedere pro me peccatore Dominum nostrum Ies. Christum.
It appears that he followed this order in his programme of work; as his revisions become progressively less frequent and less consistent in the gospels presumably done later. In places Jerome adopted readings that did not correspond to a straightforward rendering either of the Old Latin or the Greek text, so reflecting a particular doctrinal interpretation; as in his rewording panem nostrum supersubstantialem at Matthew 6:11. The unknown reviser of the rest of the New Testament shows marked differences from Jerome, both in editorial practice and in their sources. Where Jerome sought to correct the Old Latin text with reference to the best recent Greek manuscripts, with a preference for those conforming to the Byzantine text-type, the Greek text underlying the revision of the rest of the New Testament demonstrates the Alexandrian text- type found in the great uncial codices of the mid-4th century, most similar to the Codex Sinaiticus.
In antiquity, navies and trading fleets did not have the logistical autonomy that modern ships and fleets possess, and unlike modern naval forces, the Roman navy even at its height never existed as an autonomous service but operated as an adjunct to the Roman army. During the course of the First Punic War, the Roman navy was massively expanded and played a vital role in the Roman victory and the Roman Republic's eventual ascension to hegemony in the Mediterranean Sea. In the course of the first half of the 2nd century BC, Rome went on to destroy Carthage and subdue the Hellenistic kingdoms of the eastern Mediterranean, achieving complete mastery of the inland sea, which they called Mare Nostrum. The Roman fleets were again prominent in the 1st century BC in the wars against the pirates, and in the civil wars that brought down the Republic, whose campaigns ranged across the Mediterranean.
Oriented to south. Contains 280 towns divided according to ownership (king/nobility) and religion. The map itself occupies only the lower third of the sheet, the upper two thirds contain coats-of-arms of aristocratic families.
The military of ancient Rome, according to Titus Livius, one of the more illustrious historians of Rome over the centuries, was a key element in the rise of Rome over “above seven hundred years”’’ History of Rome’’, Book 1.4. from a small settlement in Latium to the capital of an empire governing a wide region around the shorty of the Mediterranean, or, as the Romans themselves said, ‘’mare nostrum’’, “our sea". Livy asserts: :”... if any people ought to be allowed to consecrate their origins and refer them to a divine source, so great is the military glory of the Roman People that when they profess that their Father and the Father of their Founder was none other than Mars, the nations of the earth may well submit to this also with as good a grace as they submit to Rome's dominion.” Titus Flavius Josephus, a contemporary historian, sometime high-ranking officer in the Roman army, and commander of the rebels in the Jewish revolt describes the Roman people as if they were "born readily armed.
Until 1955, the Exsultet ended with a long prayer for the (Holy Roman) Emperor: :Respice etiam ad devotissimum imperatorem nostrum [Nomen] cujus tu, Deus, desiderii vota praenoscens, ineffabili pietatis et misericordiae tuae munere, tranquillum perpetuae pacis accommoda, et coelestem victoriam cum omni populo suo. :Look also upon our most devout Emperor [Name], the desires of whose longing you, O God, know beforehand, and by the inexpressible grace of your kindness and mercy grant him the tranquillity of lasting peace and heavenly victory with all his people. Only the head of the Holy Roman Empire could be prayed for with this formula, and with the resignation in 1806 of the last emperor, Francis II of Austria, the prayer was in practice not used. The prayer now ended with the immediately preceding petition, for the members of the Church: :Precamur ergo te, Domine: ut nos famulos tuos, omnemque clerum, et devotissimum populum: una cum beatissimo Papa nostro N. et Antistite nostro N. quiete temporum assidua protectione regere, gubernare, et conservare digneris.

Before being served at formal hall, on the Tuesday and Thursday evening of each week during term-time, students recite the following Latin grace, led by a senior member of the JCR. Although the origin of the grace is officially unknown, an almost identical version was in use at the time as a post-prandial grace by Westminster School. > Domine omnipotens, aeterne Deus; qui tam benigne nos pascere hoc tempore > dignatus es; largire nobis, ut tibi semper pro tua in nos bonitate ex animo > gratias agamus; vitam honeste et pie transigamus; et studia ea sectemur quae > gloriam tuam illustrare et ecclesiae tuae adiumenta esse possint; per > Christum dominum nostrum. Amen. Translated into English, it reads as follows: > Almighty Lord, eternal God; who hast so graciously deigned to feed us at > this time; grant to us, that we may ever give Thee heartfelt thanks for Thy > goodness to us; that we may pass our lives honourably and religiously; and > that we may follow such pursuits as can shed light on Thy glory and afford > assistance to Thy church; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
– Geographische Namen in den Bömischen Ländern – ein Online- Wörterbuch von Walter Sperling in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Collegium Carolinum (Walter Sperling) The origin of the name is usually interpreted as a compound of "krk" or "krak" – an Old Slavonic word for Krummholz (a reference to the local vegetation) – and "noš" – derived from "nosit" (to carry). Alternative linguistic theories mention a connection with the pre-Indo-European word Corconti, which is first listed by Ptolemy and refers to a pre-Celtic or Germanic people.Bei Paul Stránský erscheint 1643 der Satz: „Krkonosse nostrum vulgus accolae Germani alterum Schneekippe, alterum ab arbusculis, quae in eo humiles sunt, Knieholz, quidam vero montes gigantum appellant“ (Schwarz, 1961, S. 95). The airline also flies to the island of Madeira, serving the capital Funchal. Regular flights to the cities of Bergamo and Paris, were trialled but later cancelled as unsuccessful projects. Nowadays has regular flights to Lisbon and Cape Verde for renting technical crew and aircraft (CRJ) to Air Nostrum. The airline also serves Africa: it operates scheduled flights to Marrakech and Casablanca in Morocco and Laayoune in Western Sahara, alongside charter flights to Nouadibou and Nouakchott in Mauritania. In late 1999 SEPI (the Spanish state holding company of Iberia) implemented the privatisation of Binter Canarias, but held on to a "golden share", permitting it to authorise any future shareholding deal of more than 25%. However, the airline was wholly owned by Hesperia Inversiones Aéreas, which bought the airline in July 2002. In 2003 Binter Canarias, SAU was absorbed by Hesperia Inversiones Aéreas, SA, which took the name of Binter Canarias, SA. It is now owned by Ilsamar Tenerife (49.81%), Ferma Canarias Electrica (10.44%), Agencia Maritima Afroamericana (10.11%), Flapa (10%) and others (19.6%) and has 406 employees. Binter has sales offices, Binter Vende, at the airports and, since 2005, the ground support service has been provided by Atlántica Handling.

The set of errors condemned in the bull Ad nostrum at the Council of Vienne (1311–12) has often been used by historians to typify the core beliefs, though there was great variation during the period over how the heresy was defined, and there is great debate over how far the individuals and groups accused of holding the beliefs (including Marguerite Porete, beguines, beghards, and Meister Eckhart) actually held the views attributed to them. Both Robert E. Lerner, The Heresy of the Free Spirit in the Late Middle Ages, (Berkeley, CA: University of California Press, 1972) and Malcolm Lambert, Medieval Heresy, 2nd edn, (Oxford: Blackwell, 1992) agree that the so-called "heresy of the free spirit" never actually existed, even in the early fourteenth century, at least not in the form of specific doctrines promoted by any organised body, still less by any sect and least of all by the Beguines or Beghards. The meaning of the term has in more recent times been extended to apply to the beliefs of other Christian individuals and groups, active both before and after the core period of the late Middle Ages.
The grace laid out in the founding statutes is still said before every formal dinner in hall: > Nos miseri et egentes homines pro hoc cibo, quem in alimonium corporis > nostri sanctificatum es largitus, ut eo recte utamur, Tibi, Deus omnipotens, > Pater caelestis, reverenter gratias agimus; simul obsecrantes, ut cibum > angelorum, panem verum caelestem, Dei Verbum aeternum, Iesum Christum > Dominum nostrum, nobis impertiaris, ut Eo mens nostra pascatur, et per > carnem et sanguinem Eius alamur, foveamur, corroboremur. which translates to > We wretched and needy mortals give reverent thanks to you, almighty God, > heavenly Father, for this food, which you have given us to nourish our > bodies, praying at the same time that you may bestow on us the food of > angels, the true heavenly bread, the eternal Word of God, Jesus Christ Our > Lord, that our souls may feed on him, and that through his flesh and blood > we may be nourished, cherished and strengthened. There is also a shorter grace said after dinner, which is now only used on special occasions. The college traditionally keeps at least one tortoise as a living mascot, cared for by an elected 'Tortoise Keeper'.
Since 1970, the text of the Confiteor in the Roman Missal is as follows: ::Text in Latin : :Confiteor Deo omnipotenti, :et vobis fratres, :quia peccavi nimis :cogitatione, verbo, :opere et omissione: :mea culpa, mea culpa, :mea maxima culpa. :Ideo precor beatam Mariam semper Virginem, :omnes Angelos et Sanctos, :et vos, fratres, :orare pro me ad Dominum Deum nostrum. ::Official English translation : :I confess to almighty God :and to you, my brothers and sisters, :that I have greatly sinned, :in my thoughts and in my words, :in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, :through my fault, through my fault, :through my most grievous fault; :therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, :all the Angels and Saints, :and you, my brothers and sisters, :to pray for me to the Lord our God.From the 2010 ICEL Translation The form in the Tridentine Roman Missal (in Latin) is longer and is said twice, first by the priest in the following form, then by the altar server(s), who replace the words "et vobis, fratres", "et vos, fratres" (and you, brethren) with "et tibi, pater" and "et te, pater" (and you, Father).
Kaillis, p. 164. Anti-Polish feelings had long been rampant in the agency and so, in marked contrast to their cool attitude about attacking Czechoslovakia in 1938, diplomats such as Weizsäcker were highly enthusiastic about the prospect of war with Poland in 1939. Professional diplomats such as Weizsäcker who had never accepted the legitimacy of Poland, which they saw as an "abomination" created by the Versailles Treaty, were wholehearted in their support of a war to wipe Poland off the map. The degree of unity within the German government with both the diplomats and the military united in their support of Hitler's anti-Polish policy, which stood in contrast to their views the previous year about destroying Czechoslovakia, very much encouraged Hitler and Ribbentrop with their chosen course of action. In April 1939, Ribbentrop received intelligence that Britain and Turkey were negotiating an alliance intended to keep Germany out of the Balkans.Bloch, p. 222. On 23 April 1939, Turkish Foreign Minister Şükrü Saracoğlu told the British ambassador of Turkish fears of Italian claims of the Mediterranean as Mare Nostrum and German control of the Balkans, and he suggested an Anglo-Soviet-Turkish alliance as the best way of countering the Axis.Watt, p. 278.
