He and Dr. McConnell are now working to see if the lead isotopes (lead atoms of different weight) in the ice core will help identify the geographic sources of lead production and thus make allowance for the fact that nearby sources of lead, such as in Britain, would have contributed more heavily to the Greenland pollution than distant ones such as the Rio Tinto mines in Spain.

Owaissa is an unincorporated place and railway point in the municipality of Temagami, Nipissing District, in Northeastern Ontario, Canada. It is in geographic Strathy Township, and is located on Ontario Highway 11, on the Ontario Northland Railway, and on the northern arm of Net Lake, about north of Owaissa is the locality of the historic Owaissa Sawmill. In 1954, an Ontario Northland Railway passing track was constructed at Mileage 86, making the short passing track at Owaissa redundant. This was during a time when passing tracks were being extended along the Ontario Northland Railway to make allowance for the greatly increased length of trains under diesel operation.

Ultimately, Benjamin Backhouse was the only one to respond to the Trustees call and his plans were accepted after some modifications to make allowance for toilets in the School. Backhouse was born in Ipswich, Suffolk, England, in 1829 and found early employment as a stonemason with his father before working on his own as a builder-architect. In 1852 he emigrated to Victoria, and, following a sojourn in England in 1861, he returned to Australia, where he settled in Brisbane.
