The hereditary nature of the caste system bred institutionalized discrimination and prejudice early on in Korea's history, as the cheonmin were barred from most forms of social advancement, including entry into government service or taking the gwageo civil service examinations. The cheonmin, although a step above the traditional caste of untouchables or outcasts called the baekjeong, lived segregated lives, like the baekjeong, isolated from the rest of society and shunted away in ghettoes far away from the rest of society. While the cheonmin performed tasks that other Koreans considered unclean or undignified, they still had an essential function and role within dynastic Korean society. Their work as butchers, shoemakers, low-class entertainers, performing unclean jobs, provided services to the other classes that were unavailable from anyone else.

However, Polo tells his father that he spent the money and refuses to say what he spent it on. John Sr. becomes angry and refuses to speak to Polo, continuing his lifetime pattern of praising Johnny and putting down Polo. Later on, John Sr. expresses his pride in Johnny's war service and that he has married a fine wife, is starting a family, and lives in a nice apartment (for which he has even built much of the furniture by hand), while Polo by contrast is renting a room from his brother, is not married and works in a bar that his father considers low-class.

Mokuami was born in the Nihonbashi district of Edo (modern-day Tokyo). He was disinherited by his father at age fourteen, and obtained work at a lending library, introducing him to the world of theatre. In 1835, he entered into an apprenticeship with Tsuruya Nanboku IV, and in 1843 became the lead playwright (tate-sakusha) for the Kawarazaki-za theatre, succeeding to the name Kawatake Shinshichi II. He began working with kabuki star Ichikawa Kodanji IV in 1854, producing kizewamono pieces. Most of Mokuami's works are in this form, and were written specifically for the star actors of the time, such as Onoe Kikugorō V and Ichikawa Kodanji IV. Many of his plays, such as the famous Benten Kozō, featured thieves and robbers, also known as shiranami (white waves), whom he represented somewhat sympathetically, as low-class heroes, or as tragic figures.

The team was expelled from the National League in 1880 for selling beer at games and playing on Sundays. In 1882 a new league formed to challenge the established NL: The American Association. The AA appealed to a different, rowdier market than the stoic NL, by offering cheaper admission prices as well as alcoholic beverages, which at that time were forbidden in the NL ballparks. Ironically, this "AA" became known as "The Beer and Whisky League", and was criticized by the NL leadership for placing so many of its teams in "river towns", characterizing the AA cities as being populated by low-class citizens: Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Louisville and St. Louis. When Hollywood stuntman Viraj Shergill (Akshay Kumar) and medical student Simrita Rai (Kareena Kapoor) come across each other at his brother Lucky's (Aftab Shivdasani) and her best friend Kamini Sandhu's (Amrita Arora) hastily planned wedding ceremony, they instantly develop a dislike for each other. Both have a very low opinion of the opposite sex, and staunchly believe marriage is not the way to go for the two newlyweds, whom they try to discourage from proceeding further. Simrita convinces Kamini to test out her theory that men are after only one thing, by forcing Lucky to delay their marriage vows for three months. She is sure, Lucky will not be able to do so and this will prove to Kamini that Lucky was just another low-class male, like all others, and her claims of him being different from most men are unfounded.

Fraudrin is the cause of the Danafall Kingdom's destruction, having accidentally been released from the Coffin of Eternal Darkness together with other low-class demons, only to be nearly killed when Meliodas' rage vaporized the kingdom after Fraudrin murdered Liz. This forced a weakened Fraudrin to possess the body of Dreyfus when he and Hendrickson were sent to investigate the ruins, using the two humans in a scheme to get revenge on Meliodas while bringing the rest of the demons back to Britannia. Pretending to be Dreyfus until the Ten Commandments were freed, he developed an emotional attachment to Dreyfus' son Griamore as a result; Fraudrin rejoins the group to replenish his strength while revealing his substitute status while in the Pleiades of the Azure Sky's custody. During the Commandments' attack on Liones, Zaratras and Hendrickson eventually exorcise Fraudrin with the demon ending up fighting Meliodas.

The Icelanders who had family names tended to be upper-class and serve as government officials. In 1925, Althing banned the adoption of new family names. Some of the common arguments against the usage of family names were: they were not authentically "Icelandic"; the usage of -son in family names made it unclear if the name was actually a family name or patronymic; and there were fears that low-class people would adopt the family names of well- known upper-class families. Some of the common arguments for the usage of family names were: they made it easier to trace lineages; they made it easier to distinguish individuals (a problem in mid-19th century Iceland was that there were so many people named Jón — in fact, one in six Icelandic males were named Jón at the time); and that Iceland ought to follow the lead of its Nordic neighbours.

These exported versions of Tango were modified to have less body contact ("Ballroom Tango"); however, the dance was still thought shocking by many, as had earlier been the case with dances such as the Waltz. In 1922 guidelines were first set for the "English" (international) style of ballroom tango, but it lost popularity in Europe to new dances including the Foxtrot and Samba, and as dancing as a whole declined due to the growth of cinema. As the dance form became wildly popular with upper and middle classes around the world, Argentine high society adopted the previously low-class dance form as their own. In 1913, tango began to move from the dark side of town to elegant dance palaces. In 1916, Roberto Firpo, an extremely successful bandleader of the period, cemented the instrumentation for the standard tango sextet: two bandoneons, two violins, piano and double bass.

In December 2017, President of the United States Donald Trump reportedly described the presence of Bundo and the other family pets in the Vice Presidential residence as "low class". Writing in Vogue, Bridget Read summarized Bundo as "clearly a lover, not a fighter, based on how much he loves snuggling", but also that he is "clearly not new to navigating his own PR, and has demonstrated some media training".

Susan Alexander Kane (Dorothy Comingore) was Kane's second wife. She was twenty-one when they first met in the mid-1910s (Kane would have been at least fifty); she is evidently low class and is in charge of the sheet music at a shop. Kane was attracted to her because she liked him for himself, despite not knowing he was a public figure. Kane sets her up in a larger and more comfortable apartment with an African American maid,at their first meeting, she plays the piano and sings for Kane in the parlour of her boarding house; when Kane applauds her at the end, she is more expensively dressed and in a more luxurious room than when she started which Gettys describes as a "Love nest" to implicate her as Kane's mistress; the film does not make it clear whether or not she really was.

The film starts with Chuks (Blossom Chukwujekwu), a young man from a low class Nigerian family and Ama(Yvonne Okoro), a young woman from a wealthy Ghanaian household returning to Ghana from schooling in London. Both have been in a relationship for a while, and on the introduction of Bloom as a Nigerian to the family of Ama, their relationship gets threatened due to the stereotyped perception of her family towards Nigerians. With Okoro's father, Kofi Adjorlolo being the most irritated by the relationship especially due to the manner Nigerian authorities handled Ghana Must Go situation in the early 80s. On discovery that his daughter was already married to the Chuks, Kofi tried to manage the situation more favorably, but things got worse when his eccentric son, IK Ogbonna picks the family of Chuks, consisting of Nkem Owoh, Helen Paul and Ada Ameh at the airport on an invitation from Chuks.

Bacon writes, "I hoped that, if I rose to any place of honour in the state, I should have a larger command of industry and ability to help me in my work [...]." and being known as a dramatist, allegedly low-class profession, would have impeded his prospects (see Stigma of print). Central to the ongoing evolution of Indonesian popular music styles was an inherent tension between dueling aesthetics: gedongan ("refined", "international") and kampungan ("vulgar," "low class," "backward"). During the 1970s, the most prominent supporter of the gedongan style was Guruh Sukarno (born 1953), son of the first president of Indonesia and a musician since his early teens. Long a student of classical Javanese and Sundanese music while at the same time familiar with Western jazz and classics, Guruh set out in 1974 to elevate existing Indonesian-Western pop music and create a kind of neoclassic, syncretic style that would be at once Indonesian and international.William H. Although the Czech lands developed as the industrial centre of the Monarchy, hundreds of thousand Bohemians of poor personal living standard, mainly from agricultural areas of southern Moravia, moved to Vienna between 1870 and 1910 to work there in cheap jobs. Badly educated and not capable of much German language as some of them were, they were considered low class people by the Viennese, and Böhm or Bem (which, in Viennese dialect, means a person from Bohemia) was used pejorative long into the 20th century in Austria.

The sectors the Spanish Inquisition was designed to address and control were also the same sectors that had the education and resources to write and spread said writing, as well as the ones with something to win from any propaganda campaign.

Zeus has amassed a fortune in real estate by developing shopping centers around the nation, and is running for governor, but withdraws from the race after Dita is murdered.

Female hero fiction is a genre of literary fiction that features a heroic female character as its main protagonist and follows her life story. Typically, works of female hero fiction follow the archetypal structure of “a hero’s life” in which a character, often descended from a noble family and born under unusual circumstances, is orphaned or suffers after running away from home, and finally emerges victorious only after undergoing numerous struggles. The fact that a woman plays the role of the hero can be understood as a modification in form of the traditional hero fiction, emerging as a later variation in a natural process of change and adaptation of the traditional hero fiction. In the early years, the hero fiction was thought of as a “low- ranking” or “low-class” literary genre, but as research into individual works has proliferated, the female hero fiction has come to be understood as a unique and independent category of fiction.

Villa Dulce idea was planned by Beatriz Buttazzoni and Francisco Bobadilla around 2003, inspired by his own experiences in the original town that they live, Villa Dulce in Viña del Mar (also two scriptwriters of the series lives there) but instead of use the same place, they created a fictional town called "Villa Dulce" who resembles Santiago de Chile. This community is governed by a mayor called Tuscan Epifanio and where 13 children between 8 and 11 years and some adults lives. Villa Dulce stands out to portray the situations that the children of 11 years old experiment in the country, including situations that the creators of Villa Dulce call "kiddie black humor", this is, as how they imagines the reality according to the glance of the children with situations like the end of the world, reality shows, the UFOs, and others issues. In addition Villa Dulce includes some characters who represent generally the stereotypes of the Chilean society like the high-class (cuicos), low class (flaites) and tweens.
