Graceland Cemetery was created due to the need for a large, rural cemetery for African Americans in Washington, D.C., in the late 1800s. In the Sri Kurmam temple grant of Chodaganga, it is clearly stated that he has extended his territory from Bhagirathi Ganga to Gautami Ganga rivers which literally the region between river Ganga and Godavari.

Looking north along N‑1 (4th Street) from the southern edge of Elmwood, July 2012 N‑1 begins at an intersection with US 34 about south of Elmwood. (US 34 heads west to Eagle and Lincoln and heads east to Union and the eastern terminus of N‑1\. The road continues south as South 29th Street toward Unadilla.) From its western terminus, N‑1 heads north as a two-lane road through hilly farmland until it crosses Stove Creek and reaches Elmwood. Just inside the limits of the village N‑1 crosses the MoPac Trail East. Within the village the route is known as 4th Street, and it passes by the business district of the village and a community park as it traverses from south to north. N‑1 then leaves the limits of Elmwood and crosses Weeping Water Creek.

Western terminus of the NY 31 / NY 38 overlap in Port Byron Continuing into Onondaga County and the village of Jordan, NY 31 begins to make a turn northward while connecting to the northern end of NY 317 (the former northern terminus of NY 31C) a short distance north of the village center. With the turn complete, NY 31 traverses the CSX mainline and the Thruway via successive overpasses before returning to level ground and resuming an eastward alignment in the shadow of the Thruway. Once inside the limits of Van Buren, NY 31 separates from the Thruway, curving north and intersecting the western terminus of NY 173 in quick succession.
