Whether it's time to consider legally silencing those who propagate radical Islamist ideology is a matter that will require more careful consideration than I can offer here, but if attaining a desired level of security from terrorist attacks requires either infringing on the rights of all Americans (NSA stuff) or lightly compromising the free speech rights of an odious few, I for one prefer the latter.

And sure, there's nothing wrong with drawing such aesthetic influence from someone––I, for one, wish more rappers would try to sound like Z-Ro, and will never be mad at a band for ripping off Modern Life Is War––but if an artist's frames of reference never go beyond surface-level touchstones it's hard to imagine them achieving any sort of innovation or depth.

I, for one, had never heard a player reference it, until last night: When asked at a post-game press conference in Atlanta about the New England Patriots having beaten his Los Angeles Rams, the right tackle Andrew Whitworth looked at the camera and said, with complete sincerity: His response was so out of the ordinary that it became news, and the sports reporter who originally tweeted it went viral.

To the Editor: Re "Conservatives on Court Appear to Back New Citizenship Query" (front page, April 24): If the Supreme Court clears the way for citizenship to be one of the questions in the 2020 census, then I, for one, will notify any inquiring census-taker that I refuse to participate on the grounds that it is a politicized, cynical and manipulative abuse of the traditions and stated purposes of the entire exercise.

And from the impeachment hearings in the House, we know that Pompeo blocked the State Department from issuing a statement supporting Yovanovitch as she was under attack in the press from Giuliani and his crew, and that Pompeo spoke with Giuliani on the phone twice, just before Yovanovitch was recalled to the US. So just what Pompeo knew and when is a big old question mark that I for one would love to have answered.

And yet, even if one doesn't agree with its predicates or its conclusions (I, for one, don't subscribe to B.H.L.'s portrait of the Jewish experience as being one of voluntary exile — "All that's required is the time to pack a suitcase, open a door, take off, and sometimes, learn a new language" — as though we were a nation of Mary Poppinses), there is a lot here that is genuinely provocative and, on occasion, insightful.

I, for one, can't imagine Bolton being a far-exotic realm too absurd to countenance moving to, but yeah, once you've bought your house—pale, anaemic bricks; a smooth gray-blue tarmac driveway; a cul-de-sac similarly full of 23-year-old couples in F+F jeans; green turf; stairs and a hallway; and four rooms and no soul—you are, sadly, condemned to wherever you live now, forever, because your house is everything, and everything is your house.

I, for one, don't have a lot of counter space in my kitchen, and while you still have to have a burr grinder (or buy pre-ground coffee, which we don't recommend because you're beginning to defeat the purpose of this nice machine), I've found it a lot easier to have this small machine and a grinder off to the side or on the window sill so that I don't have a big swathe of space eaten up right in the middle of (or anywhere on) my counter.
