The family left for London around March 1898, to the regret of members of the Adelaide Easel Club, of which his father had been an active member. but a year later his imminent return to Australia was reported, his father having apparently not enjoyed the acceptance he had been hoping for.

Batsu games are considered funny in Japan because of the (often outrageous) reactions of the comedians that experience them. However, there have been cases of injuries caused by batsu games, such as one at the Kumamoto Aquadome, where a participant jumped into a pool from a high dive platform and broke several ribs. Injuries caused by such batsu games are often not aired on TV, meaning that an injury hurts both the injured person and the TV show itself. As batsu games have become more and more common on Japanese TV, some shows have increased the danger of the punishments.

Vocalist/pianist Andrew McMahon released his debut solo album, under the moniker Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, in October 2014 through independent label Vanguard Records. Single "Cecilia and the Satellite" was a top 10 hit on the Alternative Songs chart, and became one of the most played tracks of 2016. Additionally, it performed well at the adult album alternative and hot adult contemporary radio stations; "High Dive" had minor success at alternative stations. During time off from touring, McMahon was in New York City at the same time as two writer/producers that he wanted to work with for a while, Gregg Wattenberg and Derek Fuhrmann.

Under the supervision of 20th Century Fox—with director Carlos Saldanha and music composer John Powell—the film's natural hometown of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil used the film as a tie-in promotion for the 2014 New Year's Eve celebration at Copacabana Beach. Three of four Angry Birds Rio episodes — all visually tied to Rio 2 — have been released. The first, "Rocket Rumble", was released in December 2013, the second, "High Dive", in February 2014, and the third, "Blossom River", in April 2014. In April 2014, Kohl's began selling Blu, Gabi, and Luiz plush toys as a part of their Kohl's Cares merchandise program.

Royston Albert Fransen (born 4 January 1916 in Tottenham, north London, England; died 5 July 1985) was a British High Diver and Stuntman. He was best known for his public displays of high and acrobatic diving, usually into shallow depth tanks and pools. These high dives were often performed with both diver and water surface being set ablaze with burning petrol. Roy Fransen's professional high and fire diving career lasted over 40 years—until his accident and death in 1985 during a performance, when aged 69. His 1948 record high-dive, from a height of 110 feet into a depth of 8 feet, remained unbroken worldwide for 49 years.

Vivian Augustus Marshall (later Fries and Millett, March 18, 1888 – May 18, 1969) was an American diver, vaudeville performer and film actress. Born in California, Marshall's family moved to Oregon during her youth and she gained notoriety for her aquatic skills while a member of the Multnomah Athletic Club in Portland and later performed public stunt dives from heights of 70 feet and above. She also performed a signature stunt called the "fire dive", in which she would douse her baiting suit in wood alcohol, light it with a match and perform a high dive into the water to extinguish the flames. Marshall worked for vaudeville producer Alexander Pantages and acted in motion pictures in Los Angeles, California.

The Italian village, located between the French and Spanish buildings, contains the bulk of the retail, an Italian restaurant, Virtuality, a virtual reality gaming space, Monte Carlo, an arcade, Club Coyote, a western-themed discothèque, and Blue Tone, a live jazz venue. The Spanish castle, with two major attractions, houses only an American casual restaurant on the deck above High Dive.

In 2012, Wu won the "Best Crossover Singer" at the 16th Chinese Global Music Charts. In 2013, Wu joined Jiangsu TV's diving variety show Stars in Danger: The High Dive, and won the silver medal. In January 2015, Wu was announced to be one of the judges of the talent show Asia's Got Talent, along with Indonesian-French singer Anggun, Canadian musician David Foster, and former Spice Girls member Melanie C, which aired from March to May on AXN Asia. In July 2015, Wu returned to the Philippines after a decade of his first visit for the special show for the #LiveinLevis event sponsored by Levi's in line with the launch of the Women's Denim Collection for Fall 2015.

In 2010 Taylor released her first book, A Little Truth on Your Shirt, a collection of her poetry that has been described as challenging, asking the reader hard questions. She was included in several different anthologies, including Elephant Engine High Dive Revival, Junkyard Ghost Revival Anthology, Just Like a Girl: A Manifesta, Spoken Word Revolution Redux, Growing Up Girl: An Anthology of Voices from Marginalized Spaces. She was also featured in various journals and magazines including Domain Magazine, Reality Magazine, Off Our Backs, The City Morgue, and X Magazine. She's made appearances on networks like MTV, BET, TVOne, Oxygen Network, CNN, PBS, and NPR as well as on HBO's Def Poetry Jam.

It is a popular destination in the summer, for it has a nationally ranked juried art show (third weekend in August), jazz and chamber music concerts, lectures, book reviews, and an annual tour of historic homes and cottages (1st Saturday in August). The Connewago Lake features a Victorian-era bathhouse with high- dive, floating docks and a sandy beach area. The community also has a roller rink, open-air playhouse, miniature golf course, several restaurants, playgrounds, and an award-winning ice cream parlor known as the Jigger Shop. Gretna Theatre, the independent professional non-profit theatre company performing at the Mount Gretna Playhouse, is one of the country's oldest summer stock theatres, having opened in 1927.

Tarzan and Jane attempt to get Boy back by legal means. This leads to a moving sequence where the judge asks Tarzan what the fishing is like back in Africa and what he considers to be the important things that he needs to teach his adopted son. Unfortunately, the circus retains an unscrupulous lawyer (Charles Lane), who tricks Jane into admitting that Boy was not born in the jungle and is not her actual child, provoking Tarzan into attacking him in the courtroom. Tarzan makes a daring escape out a courtroom window onto a wide ledge and after a rooftop chase by the police, he ends up making a spectacular high dive off the Brooklyn Bridge into the East River.

As a youth and during the 1930s, to improve his athletic hobby and sporting skills, he practised dry and without water at home in suburban Pinner, diving from a springboard into safety- netting set up in his parents' back garden. In the late 1940s together with his elder brothers and friends, including stuntman/diver George Baines and Vera Beaumont, diving beauty, Fransen created a high dive stunt and show, simply to generate an income. This it did, and within two seasons had grown into a full-scale water show production called Aqua-revue. Enjoying popularity at open air lidos and indoor swimming pools, a troupe of 20 to 30 performed a mix of acrobatic water skills, beauty, comedy and danger.

Trees Pool Joseph C. Trees Pool, housed in the left wing of Trees Hall, is home of the men's and women's University of Pittsburgh Swimming and Diving teams and features a 75-by-165 foot (23-by-50 meter) Olympic-size swimming pool with a 770,000 gallon capacity. This main pool has the dual capability of an eight-lane, 50-meter course or a 20-lane course. When completed in 1962, it was hailed as the largest indoor pool in the country.Robert C. Alberts, Pitt: the story of the University of Pittsburgh, 1787-1987, pg 264, 1986 Although it was one of the last pools constructed in the United States, it was also one of the first pools with a 10-meter high-dive tower, underwater windows, underwater sound system, and heated deck and benches.

Having not competed in poetry slam since 2008, he has gone on to build a significant following, and still considers performance poetry to be his day job while living in Los Angeles, pursuing acting and screenwriting for both television and film. In addition to touring the world solo for two decades, Wakefield has also toured, performed with, headlined and opened for hiphop, folk, and rock acts worldwide. As well, he was a core member of 2007's Solomon Sparrow's Electric Whale Revival, 2008's Junkyard Ghost Revival, 2009's Elephant Engine High Dive Revival, and 2010's Night Kite Revival, where he shared the stage with notable poets such as Derrick Brown, Anis Mojgani, Andrea Gibson and Cristin O'Keefe Aptowicz, among others. These events were performed to large, enthusiastic audiences throughout North America.

Krusen played drums with The Hung White Ponies which also included Rick Rosas on bass, Ryan Kralik on guitar and vocals and Michael G. Ronstadt on Cello. Formed in 2011 by Ryan Kralik, the band released the album No Agenda in 2011 along with a cover single of CSNY's Neil Young penned classic protest tune Ohio which also featured Iraq War vet Josh Hisle. In 2012 the concept audio/film album CRAZYTOWN A Visual Music Album was released as both an audio album and a feature film, winning multiple awards in both music and film categories. In 2013, after a west-coast tour, the band released the live concert CD/DVD The Hung White Ponies Live at the High Dive which documented one of the tours Seattle, WA concerts.

Marshall was accompanied by W. L. Murray and her father R. A. Marshall in a lifesaving boat during the swim. In 1908, Marshall embarked on a six-month trip around the United States. She was sent to music school in New York in 1910 for a six month period which was capped by her singing at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Marshall spent over a year in Europe—from 1910 to 1911—where she studied music at stops in Berlin, London and Paris. In 1912, while in Gearhart, Oregon, Marshall first performed the "fire dive"; in which she would soak her baiting suit in wood alcohol, light it and high dive into the water to extinguish the flames. She took first place during the 25 yard swim and the springboard during the Oregon State Swimming and Diving Championships in April 1912.

In response to these reports, and after United States congressional inquiries, the General Accounting Office launched an inquiry and directed the Office of the United States Secretary of the Air Force to conduct an internal investigation. The result was summarized in two reports. The first, released in 1994, concluded that the material recovered in 1947 was likely debris from Project Mogul, a military surveillance program employing high-altitude balloons (and classified portion of an unclassified New York University project by atmospheric researchers). The second report, released in 1997, concluded that reports of recovered alien bodies were likely a combination of innocently transformed memories of accidents involving military casualties with memories of the recovery of anthropomorphic dummies in military programs such as the 1950s Operation High Dive, mixed with hoaxes perpetrated by various witnesses and UFO proponents.
