The Beizanji Sutra Mounds are located within the grounds of the Hie Jinja, a Shinto shrine located in the Nishikawa neighborhood located to the northwest of central Sukagawa. During a rebuilding of the main shrine building in 1884, a number of earthen mounds located to its rear were flattened, and were found to contain pottery cylinders and bronze Buddhist statues. A large number of Sue ware pottery shards and roof tiles were also unearthed. The mounds were determined to have been sutra mounds, which, from inscriptions on the artifacts, were made the Jōan era (1171-1174) for a temple called Beizan-ji, which once occupied this site.

At the age of 21 (in 1913), together with Lie Biauw Kie, Tjia Tjiep Ling, Tan Tjiang Ling, Liem Thoan Tik, and Liem Tjhioe Kwie, he founded the first weekly published in Surabaya named Bok Tok. In 1914 he became chief editor of Tjhoen Tjhioe's weekly led by Tjoa Jan Hie.

Kan remained a member of the Volksraad until its dissolution by the Japanese, who invaded the colony in 1942 during the Second World War. In 1928, Kan presided — as founding President — over the formation of Chung Hwa Hui (CHH), a political association that attracted the support of mainly Dutch-educated ethnic Chinese. Together with the likes of his distant cousin, Han Tiauw Tjong, and Loa Sek Hie, who were both on the Executive Committee of CHH, Kan pleaded for legal equality of the Chinese with Europeans under Indies law. An engineer, Christopher Pelley, loses his eyesight in an accident but is due to have an operation to restore hie sight. KeyHIE offers a wide range of services to doctor's offices, hospitals, nursing homes and other healthcare organizations in Pennsylvania and surrounding areas. ; Michiana Health Information Network (MHIN) : MHIN began in 1998 as a secure central data repository of personal health histories and as a safe and efficient method to share that information with doctors, nurses, rehab facilities, and other caregivers. Today, MHIN serves as a regional Health Information Exchange (HIE), serving northern Indiana and southern Michigan and holds 17 years of clinical exchange data making it one of the oldest functioning HIEs in the country.

The North Coast 500 was launched in March 2015 by the Tourism Project Board of the North Highland Initiative (NHI), in an attempt to work with all aspects of the tourism sector to bring unified benefits to businesses across the route. It was identified that a gap existed in the market within the North Highlands for a tourism offering that included each county of the area (Caithness, Sutherland & Ross-shire) and that the North Coast 500 would address that. The initiative was supported by Visit Scotland and Highlands & Islands Enterprise (HIE). In 2015, the route was named fifth in the "Top 5 Coastal Routes in the World" listing by Now Travel Magazine.

The ethnic Chinese who followed its stream of thought refused any involvement with local institutions and would only participate in politics relating to mainland China. A second stream was later formed by wealthy ethnic Chinese who received an education at Dutch-run schools. This Dutch-oriented group wished for increased participation in local politics, Dutch education for the ethnic Chinese, and the furthering of ethnic Chinese economic standing within the colonial economy. His next project was as a Storyboard Artist, Character Designer and Sequence Director on the feature animated film, Rover Dangerfield.

A hypothermia cap (also referred to as cold cap or cooling cap) is a therapeutic device used to cool the human scalp. Its most prominent medical applications are in preventing or reducing alopecia in chemotherapy, and for preventing cerebral palsy in babies born with neonatal encephalopathy caused by hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). In 2006, CRISP began at a Spring meeting between John Erickson and the CIOs of Maryland's three largest hospital systems, asking how to make medical records for seniors available when they visited the hospital. By 2008, CRISP had partnered with MHCC to plan an HIE for Maryland, the processed engaged dozens of healthcare stakeholders. CRISP received $10 million in seed funding through an adjustment in the reimbursement rates for participating hospitals. On the issue of access to land, therefore, little real progress was to be made until after the First World War. Some resources were put into development of the communications infrastructure of the Highlands and Islands (roads, railways, and harbours) and, in the early years of the 20th century the Congested Districts Board was able to push through the establishment of new crofting townships on Skye and in the Strathnaver area of Sutherland. The Congested Districts Board was created in 1897 and can be seen as a precursor to the Highlands and Islands Development Board, which is known now as Highland and Islands Enterprise (HIE). A new Liberal government, elected in 1906 (in the 1906 general election), abolished the Congested Districts Board and created the Board of Agriculture for Scotland.

The Texas e-Health Alliance is a premier entity that leaders in the Texas legislature, the Governor, and various state agencies refer to on matters related to all aspects of e-health, from HIE to telemedicine to remote monitoring. In March 2012, he was named to the board of OSEHRA, the Open Source Electronic Health Record Agent, a non-profit established by the Department of Veterans Affairs, dedicated to accelerating innovation in electronic health record software. In December 2019, he was named the President of the Mayo Clinic Platform, to commence January 1, 2020. The Mattheiser Venus or Venus of St. Matthias was an ancient Roman marble statue of the goddess Venus, which was formerly kept at the St. Matthias' Abbey. The statue of the goddess of love was kept on display in chains by the wall of the monastery marked with the following inscription: :„WOLT IHR WISSEN WAS ICH BIN :ICH BIN GEWESEN EIN ABGOTTIN :DA S.
