In May 2016 as his contract expired, he was released along with eleven players as Dagenham were relegated to the National League. In the summer of 2016, Connors signed for Ebbsfleet United and helped them to earn promotion from the National League South. In April 2018, he scored his first and only goal for Ebbsfleet in a 1–1 draw against Torquay United.
The exclusivity of female activity spaces leads to young females being driven out of the colony in which they were born, and also makes it difficult for them to gain a place in a new colony. A study of banded nestlings that survived in one colony until the next breeding season, found that they were all male birds, suggesting that all female nestlings had died or left the colony. Emigration of males does not seem to occur until the population density of the colony reaches a critical level. Looking after the young is communal, with males of the coterie bringing food to the nestlings and removing faecal sacs.
This decision caused some controversy with most observers believing Savon had clearly won the bout whilst a few others taking the view that he had won on merit. In his next bout he fought 2008 Beijing Olympics silver medalist Zhang Zhilei, dropping his taller opponent in the middle round; Joshua won by 15:11 guaranteeing at least a bronze medal. In the semi-final Joshua met Kazakh boxer Ivan Dychko, and despite Joshua's height disadvantage he won by 13:11 to gain a place in the Olympic final. Joshua met 32-year-old reigning Olympic champion and former two-time world champion, Roberto Cammarelle of Italy in the closing bout.

Spook Squad follows a repetitive format with each of its episodes. The gameshow's plot involves three children visiting a haunted castle in Scotland to gain a place in the Spook Squad, a league of Ghostbusters-like ghost hunters. They are met by Professor MacAbre (Andrew Pepper), an eccentric and rather cowardly paranormalist, who acts as the gameshow's host and gives instructions to the children when they play the games. Each episode involves the contestants and Professor Rupert MacAbre preventing ghosts who died in the castle from obtaining a valuable item on their death anniversaries, otherwise the ghosts will gain supernatural powers and immortality (e.g.
After the Test series, Cook was omitted from the one day side leaving him free to play for Essex. He joined them in their bid to defend their Friends Provident Trophy matching Varun Chopra's 65 in a 124 run partnership against Lancashire to gain a place in the semi-final. He and his team could not recreate the same form for the semi-final, at the same location against the same team three days later, after being caught from a running catch by Sajid Mahmood, seeing the team lose by 67 runs. Having been knocked out of the FP Trophy, the team turned to the Twenty20 Cup.
Goya's career in senior football got underway in 2008 with Deportivo Riestra. He scored ten goals in one hundred and forty-three appearances for the club between 2008 and 2014, with the club winning the 2013–14 Primera D Metropolitana title to gain a place in Primera C Metropolitana; where he appeared eighteen times. His first appearance in Primera B Metropolitana arrived on 23 February 2015, as he appeared for fifty minutes of a win over Villa San Carlos; he was substituted off for Daniel Caputo. Thirty-three appearances occurred that season, though three ended prematurely after the defender received a red card in each match.
The Moro people were a Muslim culture living in the Sulu Archipelago and the island of Mindanao, and they held practices unacceptable to their new American rulers including slavery. The Moros also practiced a tradition called juramentado in which a devotee attempted to kill as many Christians as possible in order to gain a place in paradise. However, they made war on themselves as much as they did with their other enemies, resulting in fractured bands. The 6th Cavalry fought several engagements against the Moros in the jungles and mountains but, as it was earlier, their main enemy was the tropical environment and its diseases.
They returned in 1942 and reunited with the other half to a location in Bordesley Green. The City then created two new schools named Byng Kenrick Girls' Grammar School and Sir Wilfrid Martineau School (named after Wilfred Byng Kenrick and Wilfrid Martineau respectively, two men who had each been prominent local politicians and Lord Mayors of Birmingham). The two schools would cater for pupils who had failed to gain a place in a grammar school. Its first headmaster, however, declared that it was his intention to compete and announced it was a bilateral rather than a secondary modern school (in contemporary parlance) and the school competed with its neighbours.
This prolific return saw him gain a place in the Scotland national football team, making his debut against Bosnia-Herzegovina in October 1999. While playing for Celtic against Jeunesse Esch of Luxembourg in the qualifying round of the 2001 UEFA Cup, Burchill scored the fastest-ever hat-trick in a European club match. However, successive managers failed to see the Scotland international as a part of the first team picture. The signing of £6 million Chris Sutton further pushed Burchill down the pecking order, and in September 2000 he moved to Birmingham City on a three-month loan, making his debut in a 2–0 home win over Tranmere Rovers.

However, they were unable to finish the season with another win, losing 16–32 to the Doncaster Mustangs. Despite losing the final, the Cheetahs were promoted to Division 1A of the British American Football League. After winning their first match against the Southern Sundevils, they struggled at this higher level and only managed to win one more of their games, ultimately finishing third out of four teams in their group. However, this was still enough to gain a wild-card slot in the playoffs and they made the most of this opportunity, defeating the Staffordshire Surge and the London Blitz to gain a place in the final for the second successive season.
They were promoted to the Premier Division in 1990–91, though were relegated in 1999. The early 21st century saw the club win three promotions over the course of seven seasons under the stewardship of John Coleman to gain a place in the Football League. They won three divisional titles in each of their three promotions: Northern Premier League Division One (1999–2000), Northern Premier League Premier Division (2002–03) and the Conference National (2005–06). They then spent 12 seasons mostly in the bottom half of the table in League Two, though did also lose two play-off semi- finals, before Coleman lef them to promotion into League One as League Two champions in 2017–18.
The game at Sixways was the third last game of the season and, with the sides neck and neck in the league, the winner would almost certainly gain a place in The Premiership. Worcester had gone 20 games and 18 months since their last home loss, which was to Rotherham in September 2001. The game was the first Championship match to be broadcast live on Sky Sports and the game also saw the record attendance for a Championship game, with temporary stands constructed to ensure 5,700 fans could watch. Rotherham brought a 1,000 strong contingent, almost all of whom were sat in the North Stand at Sixways, in what was virtual segregation.
Blackiston has never trained formally as a chef, instead gleaning experience on the job as he worked his way to head chef in his first job at the Miller Howe country hotel in the Lake District. Of his beginnings, Galton says: > As a cash strapped 17-year-old I set up a market stall in Rye selling home > made cakes, biscuits and preserves. The range became known by the locals as > 'Galton’s Goodies', was constantly sold out and I realised cooking was my > future! Blackiston represented the Midlands and East of England in the BBC's Great British Menu, knocking out celebrity chef Antony Worrall Thompson to gain a place in the final.
The original Lancashire League was formed in 1889, and was established because of the success of the Football League, which had been established just one year earlier. Prime movers in the formation of the league were the officials of Bury Football Club, who had ambitions to set up a regional competition which would be a stepping stone for them and other clubs to gain a place in the Football League. Although the majority of the clubs were based in the county of Lancashire, the league did eventually accept several clubs from neighbouring Cheshire. Additionally from further afield, Workington, from Cumberland, were members for two seasons, while Doncaster Rovers, from Yorkshire, were also to make an application to join.
Dickson was born in Crail, Fife and played for Dundee club Strathmore before joining English club Sunderland. Sunderland had been unable to gain a place in the inaugural season of the Football League and played friendly matches in the 1888–89 season, Dickson scoring four goals in nine appearances. In 1889 he joined Football League side Aston Villa and did well for the Birmingham-based club scoring 34 goals in 64 matches and earned a FA Cup runners-up medal in the 1892 FA Cup Final . He joined fellow Midlands based club Stoke in time for the 1892–93 season where he scored 11 goals as Stoke enjoyed their best season in the league up to that point.
He made four more appearances for The Saints, failing to score a goal, before he was sold to Notts County for £250,000 on 16 September 1991, just after they began their first top division season since 1984. However, they were already struggling to avoid relegation from the First Division and manager Neil Warnock saw Rideout as the man to help County preserve their top flight status and gain a place in the new FA Premier League which would begin the following season. However, he lasted barely four months at Meadow Lane, scoring three goals in 11 league games (his performances failed to improve County's league form and they ended the season relegated).
He went up to Cambridge University in 1919, reading History and Maths at St John's College, graduating in 1921. He was not able to gain a place in the University cricket team in 1920 but did gain his cricket Blue in 1921, playing 11 first-class matches for the side. Meanwhile, he had been awarded his Kent cap in 1920 and scored 553 runs for the country during the season. The 1921 season was Bryan's only full season of cricket as his job as a teacher prevented him playing regularly outside of the school holidays thereafter.Wilde S (2013) '1922 Five Cricketers of the Year' in Wisden Cricketers of the Year: A Celebration of Cricket's Greatest Players, pp.98–100.
In the 1985-86 season, the Harriers gained a second consecutive championship, winning the Division One title to gain a place in the Premier Division. The club spent eight seasons in the Premier Division, with a best finish of third place in the 1988-89 season, the same year in which the Harriers achieved their best ever run in the FA Vase, reaching the third round. In 1994 the club was selected to be one of the founder members of the Midland Football Alliance. Financial problems dogged the club, however, and in 2003 it was forced to close down, the last ever Halesowen Harriers match being a home game with Causeway United on 28 April 2003.
Initially placed in the Isthmian League Third Division, Aldershot Town won the league in their debut 1992–93 season and won promotion out of the Second Division the following season. They won the First Division title in 1997–98 and the Premier Division in 2002–03 to gain a place in the Conference. They spent five seasons in the Conference, losing twice in the play-offs, before winning promotion into the Football League as Conference National and Conference League Cup champions under Gary Waddock's stewardship in 2007–08. They spent five seasons in League Two, reaching the play-offs in 2010, though were relegated back into non-league football and entered administration in May 2013.
This decision undoubtedly had political motivations, for it situated the Nea on the main route for pilgrims traveling between the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Church of the Holy Apostles.Tsafrir, Procopius and the Nea, 160. The 6th century date for the construction of the southern cardo is based on the size of the flagstones, pottery evidence, and the bases of the capitals that belong to the Byzantine period. Processions, stational liturgies, and individual worshipers passed between the Holy Sepulchre and Hagia Sion, thus including Justinian's church, but the Nea still failed to gain a place in the Christian collective memory as a site that was as holy as the other two main churches.
On 5 August 2007, Marsaxlokk and Birkirkara reached an agreement over a swap deal which saw Camenzuli join Marsaxlokk and Shaun Bajada would join Birkirkara. Camenzuli made his debut for Marsaxlokk in the 2007–08 season, helping his new club to a second-place finish in the Maltese Premier League that season, making 18 appearances and scoring two goals. Camenzuli went into the 2008–09 season hoping to help Marsaxlokk gain some more silverware, however the club had an extremely disappointing start to the season by their own high standards, and only managed to gain a place in the championship pool by beating Msida Saint-Joseph in the final game of the first round. Camenzuli made 20 appearances, but failed to score any goals during the season.
Nephi quoted him as saying he was "the greatest of all sinners" and that God never called him to be a prophet. Jeffs presented a handwritten note to the judge at the end of trial on 27 March saying that he was not a prophet of the FLDS Church. On 7 November, the Washington County, Utah, Attorney's Office released video of jailhouse conversations between Nephi and Jeffs, in which Jeffs renounces his prophethood, claiming that God had told him that if he revealed that he was not the rightful prophet, and was a "wicked man", he would still gain a place in the celestial kingdom. Jeffs also admits to what he calls "immoral actions with a sister and a daughter" when he was 20 years old.
The Draconians were founded in 1963, receiving special permission to use the Draconians name first used by a Welsh representative side. In their first season in the Cardiff Combination League, they finished as Second Division champions. The club changed its name to Gabalfa Draconians at about the time that the Llanidloes Road ground was first used for home games (1984–85 season), before reverting to their original name in 2000 when they entered the South Wales Amateur League. After finishing as runner-up in the South Wales Alliance League Premier Division in 2019–20 and being granted a tier 3 licence by the Football Association of Wales, the club initially failed to gain a place in the new tier 3.
Elsewhere, good work from the McLaren crew allowed both their drivers to gain a place in the stops; Hamilton on Rosberg, and Jenson Button on Webber. The list of retirements grew on lap 23 when Pedro de la Rosa in the second BMW Sauber was also struck by a hydraulic issue. Vettel continued to lead comfortably, two seconds ahead of Alonso and a further three ahead of Massa. However, he began to noticeably slow down during the latter part of the race due to a problem that was later identified within the team as a problem with a spark plug, and was quickly passed by the two Ferraris and Hamilton, and spent the rest of the race trying to hold Rosberg at bay.
They may be necessary to many, nevertheless, to prepare a person for emancipation, to show the path where cravings feel meaningless, and to produce a serene mind that longs for meaning and one that can discern highest knowledge. Ralph Griffith suggests the verses 2–6 of Isha Upanishad are condemning those who perform Karma in order to "get future advantages in life or to gain a place in heaven", because that is ignorance. The avoidance of "soul knowledge and its eternal, all-pervasive nature" is akin to "killing one's soul" and living a dead life opines Isha Upanishad, states Griffith. The pursuit of Self is the seeking of the eternal, the whole, the all-transcending, the self-depending, the Oneness and law of all nature and existence.
Jones commenced his football career at St Killian's (Bendigo), playing in premiership teams in both 1908 and 1909 before moving to senior ranks in 1910 with California Gully in the Bendigo Football League where he gained a reputation as an excellent mark but inconsistent kick. In 1911 he joined Richmond in the Victorian Football League and made his debut in their Round 1 clash with Collingwood. He scored two goals in the loss to Carlton in Round 5, where again it was noted that “Jones again showed up well in the matter of marking, but failed lamentably in shooting for goal.” In early 1913 Jones moved to Melbourne after failing to gain a place in Richmond’s team in the first few weeks of the season but he never played a senior game for Melbourne.
In 2003, he was re-appointed manager of a Huddersfield Town that had slid down to Division Three and were emerging from administration. In the 2003–04 season, Jackson put his faith in a squad containing promising young players. Town finished fourth to gain a place in the play-offs. Town eventually beat Mansfield Town on penalties in the play-off final to be promoted in Jackson's first season back. The 2004–05 season saw Town finish ninth, just missing out the play-off places for promotion to the Championship. Town had a great start to the 2005–06 campaign with Jackson winning Manager of the Month for August 2005 and after eventually finishing fourth and making the League One Play- Offs, they lost 3–2 to Barnsley on aggregate.
Peterson had wanted no part in another magazine published by Thurman, and had been approached by Nugent and Scholley Alexander, to write a monthly theatrical column, under the pretext that Alexander was the editor. Upon receiving a thank-you letter with Thurman's name as editor on the letterhead, she withdrew, despite pleas from Alexander acknowledging Thurman's "selfish treatment of those who have helped him gain a place in the literary world" and stating that he would not let Thurman run amok. Alexander asked Peterson to ask her friends "to forbear -- to with-hold their criticism until they have the _first issue at hand_ to criticize" (original emphasis and underlining). Larsen also declined, on the grounds that she was not going to be paid for her submissions, confessing that her ultimate goal in writing was "money".
Holder is the current captain of the Australian team that finished third in the 2014 Speedway World Cup Final in Poland. After initially considering giving the 2015 Australian Championship to be held in early January a miss in order to get himself fit for the 2015 Speedway Grand Prix season, Holder decided to defend his title. Bike problems in the first round at the Gillman Speedway in Adelaide saw him only finish 7th on points with 8 and only just gain a place in the "B" Final where he finished 3rd. Things improved considerably in the second round at Olympic Park in Mildura for round 2 where he finished equal second on points before finishing second in the "A" Final to World Cup team mate and championship leader Jason Doyle.
Born in Streatham, London, Jackson joined the reserve team at AFC Wimbledon in 2008 and graduated to the first-team in the latter stages of the 2009–10 season. He became a first-team regular in the 2010–11 season, with 42 appearances in all competitions and goals against Mansfield Town and Hayes & Yeading United, but did not feature in the 2011 Conference Premier play-off Final win over Luton Town, which saw the Dons gain a place in the Football League.
In October 2006, Asamoah was named in the Ghana national football team squad for friendlies against Japan and South Korea, in which he made his international debut, he has now gone on to make another three appearances for Ghana and was looking to gain a place in Milovan Rajevac's squads for the 2010 African Cup of Nations and the World Cup. During the winter transfer window pause, the Ghana coach announced that although having many talented footballers in his team, he would keep an eye on Asamoah and eventually include him in the squad for the Cup, seeing as many Lokomotiv Sofia games as possible. On 7 November 2011, Asamoah returned to the national team again for the first time since 2008. He was recalled to the national team for friendlies against Gabon and Sierra Leone by new head coach Goran Stevanović.

The squad was weakened as many of the club's star players moved on to pastures new, this left the club short of talent, Sciberras stuck around and despite the club's loss of players, they still managed to record a very creditable 2nd-place finish in the Maltese Premier League, with Gareth making 15 appearances and scoring one goal. Gareth went into the 2008–09 season hoping to help Marsaxlokk gain some more silverware, however the club had an extremely disappointing start to the season by their own high standards, and only managed to gain a place in the championship pool by beating Msida Saint-Joseph in the final game of the first round. Bodini began his career with Cremonese (1974–77), before moving to Atalanta (1977–79), where he managed to gain a place in the team's starting line-up despite initial competition from Pierluigi Pizzaballa. He later also played with Juventus (1979–89), Verona (1989–90), and Inter (1990–91). According to some sources, he is among the few players to have won all three major UEFA-organised club competitions.List of players to have won the three main European club competitions He was able to accomplish this feat during his time with Juventus between 1979 and 1989 (where he served mainly as the understudies of Dino Zoff and subsequently Stefano Tacconi, although he briefly was able to break into the Juventus starting line-up due to his excellent performances), and with Inter, during the final season of his career, serving as a backup to Walter Zenga.
There was some joy for Morello though as in his final season, 2011–12, he once again won promotion as Torino finished second on goal difference in Serie B to gain a place in Italy's top-flight Serie A. He left at the end of that season in 2012 to join his final club, Trapani. In what was his final season as a player he failed to make a Serie B appearance for Trapani but did take part in his fifth career promotion as Trapani won the 2012–13 Serie C1. Although Morello didn't make a league appearance for Trapani, he did make one last career appearance when he played the full ninety minutes in the first leg of the Supercoppa di Lega Pro final against Avellino. He didn't make the squad for the second leg and left the club at the end of the season and subsequently retired.
Millar started his career with Glentoran, after scoring 15 goals in 28 appearances, he moved to Portadown. They met again at the clay courts of the Barcelona Open where Nishikori dominated Cilic in another straight sets victory where he would later go on to win his first title on clay. Their most significant meeting would be at the 2014 US Open, they met in the finals after Nishikori overpowered world No. 1 Novak Djokovic and Cilic overcame world No. 2 Roger Federer in the semifinals. Their meeting in the final made the 2014 US Open the first Grand Slam where none of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic reached the final since the 2005 Australian Open. However, Nishikori was defeated in straight sets by an in- form Marin Cilic in the final. In 2015, the pair met in the semifinals of the 2015 Citi Open, with Nishikori coming back from a set down to prevail in three, and gain a place in his 15th career final.
In 2005, Caras was signed to a contract with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). In his first test in the company, Caras competed in the 2005 La Copa Junior, but the storyline of the tournament saw him defeated in the semi-final by Dr. Wagner Jr. Caras's advancement to the semi-final of the cup, mere months after signing with the company was an indicator that the bookers were interested in elevating him up the rankings, this was further supported when he received matches for both the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship and the CMLL World Light Heavyweight Championship inside a three-week period. The following year on March 31, 2006 Caras was entered again into the La Copa Junior tournament and earned a return victory over Dr. Wagner Jr. who knocked him out of the tournament the previous year. He also won against Heavy Metal and Apolo Dantés to gain a place in the final, defeating Héctor Garza to win the prize.
The group formed in 2009. After a number of lineup changes the band stabilised with a lineup of Robert Heyg on vocals and guitar, Harrison White on drums, Micah Douglas on guitar and Ben Janes on bass (the latter two found on the website joinmyband.co.uk) and began recording and performing. From 2009 to 2011 the band released several demos, including Secrets of Eternity, Ghosts of the Past and Oedipus Tyrannus. Towards the end of 2010 the first notable Facebook campaign started, the successful "Vote Oath" campaign (aided by members of the Gill & Beez page - who also successfully led a campaign for Max Raptor to play in a fan's bedroom) to get the band to open for thrash metal band Evile in the London leg of their UK tour, played at the Camden Underworld. In 2011 the band participated in the "Road to Bloodstock" competition, a "Battle of the Bands" to gain a place in the lineup of the 2011 Bloodstock Open Air festival.
Oliveira moved on loan to São Paulo FC in early 2006, in a bid to gain a place in Brazil's 2006 World Cup squad – prolonged recovery time meant he never made it but he did continue to compete for the club in all the fronts until 10 August 2006. Previously, in August 2005, he had threatened with leaving the Verdiblancos over economic issues. Oliveira returned to Betis on 21 August following his loan spell, nine days later than he was requested, which caused controversy among the club's board of directors. The delay was caused by an unplanned schedule change made by CONMEBOL, which postponed the Libertadores final match in one week, and his contract was due on the day after the previous final match date; he wanted to play on the decisive match and tried to reach an agreement with the Andalusians, even with a special allowance from FIFA, but the Spanish team would not cooperate and he was not able to take part in the game.
He managed nine league appearances over the next two years, before leaving in 1989 - at the end of what was arguably the most successful season in Norwich's history, when they finished fourth in the league and reached the FA Cup semi-finals. On leaving Norwich, Ratcliffe signed for Third Division Brentford for a club record incoming fee of £100,000. He was soon a regular first team player, helping them win the Third Division title in 1992 and gain a place in the new Division One (as the Second Division was called following the creation of the FA Premier League for the 1992-93 season). For a while Brentford were looking like they could establish themselves as a Division One club and possibly even push for a place in the Premier League, as they entered 1993 in tenth place and just one point outside the playoff zone, but a dreadful run of form in the second half of the season saw them relegated on the final day of the season.
Some polytechnics were often seen as ranking below universities in the provision of higher education, because they lacked degree-awarding powers, concentrated on applied science and engineering education, produced less research than the universities, and because the qualifications necessary to gain a place in one were sometimes lower than for a university (the failure rate in the first year of undergraduate courses was high, due to a rigorous filtering process). However, in terms of an undergraduate education, this was a misconception, since many polytechnics offered academic degrees validated by the CNAA, from bachelor's and master's degrees to PhD research degrees.Silver, Harold: "Higher Education in the UK: A critical examination of the Role of the CNAA", Higher Education Journal, Springer Netherlands, 1991 In addition, professional degrees in subjects such as engineering, town planning, law, and architecture were rigorously validated by various professional institutions. Many polytechnics argued that a CNAA degree was superior to many university degrees, especially in engineering, due to the external independent validation process employed by the CNAA, the oversight of the engineering institutions, and innovations such as sandwich degrees.
