It's not until the narrator meets Sheikh Gad, the composer, that we get great detail about the absent mystic. And here, with the musician, in the evanescence of music, we learn the most about him. We could take Schopenhauer's approach, where music is the most pure expression of the Universal Will, and it analogously reflects, within its harmony, melodies, rhythm and meter, the structure of the physical world. This will serve to illustrate the great power of music, but it does not address why Mahfouz places it here, near the core of our narrator's experience.

According to Carl Benjamin Boyer, in the introduction to his The History of the Calculus and its Conceptual Development, concepts in calculus do not refer to perceptions. As long as the concepts are useful and mutually compatible, they are accepted on their own. Neither are they related in any way to mysterious limits in which quantities are on the verge of nascence or evanescence, that is, coming into or going out of existence.

Due to the same reasons, the tour was postponed again on June 22, 2020. The tour is rescheduled to begin on September 8, 2021 in Zurich, Switzerland, and will tour eleven countries in Europe, ending on October 4, 2021 in London, England.
Arlecchino became emblematic of the mannerist discordia concors (the union of opposites), at one moment he would be gentle and kind, then, on a dime, become a thief violently acting out with his battle. Arlecchino could be graceful in movement, only in the next beat, to clumsily trip over his feet. Freed from the external rules, the actor celebrated the evanescence of the moment; much the way Benvenuto Cellini would dazzle his patrons by draping his sculptures, unveiling them with lighting effects and a sense of the marvelous. The presentation of the object became as important as the object itself.
Throughout this period, Downplay accumulated the lineup of Trevor Connor, Evan Mckeever, Brian Patrick and Corey Catlett. As a holder of an electrical engineering degree and a master's degree in avionic engineering, Bates said he was moving toward a PhD at Ohio University, "clear up until the record deal." In January 2011, Downplay began recording their third record with producer Dave Fortman (Evanescence, Slipknot, Mudvayne, Godsmack) in New Orleans where they cut their first album. The working title was Sleep; the album would have 12 songs and two bonus tracks available for download from iTunes, as well as a different track from Amazon.
Lead vocalist Amy Lee and former-lead guitarist Ben Moody founded the band in 1995 and was accompanied by David Hodges (keyboards) from 1999 until 2002. Evanescence signed with Wind-up Records and released their debut album, Fallen, in 2003, officially formed by Will Boyd (bass), Rocky Gray (drums), John LeCompt (rhythm guitar), Lee (vocals and piano) and Moody (lead guitar). Lee, Moody and Hodges are credited to have written the entire album together, while LeCompt and Gray each have writing credits for two separate songs. The album sold over 17 million copies worldwide and produced four singles, including "Bring Me to Life".
Arrison grew up in Tennessee and later moved to Los Angeles, California. Arrison has released one EP and one album as a solo singer-songwriter, sung backing vocals for Lindsay Lohan and Badly Drawn Boy, and has written songs for Kelly Clarkson and Kacey Musgraves, whom Arrison introduced to mutual friend, Nashville songwriter and subsequent longtime collaborator Shane McAnally. She has also performed with Amy Lee of Evanescence and, as a child, Justin Timberlake. Married to guitarist and songwriter Aben Eubanks since April 22, 2011, the couple were the subject of a Season 12 HGTV Property Brothers episode.
Although Evanescence returned to stage in late 2015 and continued touring in 2016 and 2017, Lee continued writing and recording solo music. A children's album titled Dream Too Much consisting of songs inspired by and dedicated to her first child followed as part of her solo career. The beginning of 2017 also saw a single release of an English rework of the Italian song "L'amore esiste" (2015) by Francesca Michielin. In August 2015, it was revealed that Lee would write music for the ending credits of the independent movie Voice from the Stone, directed by Eric Dennis Howell.
Shortly after the release of All for This, it was announced that Moody had created and is also currently a member of a new rock band called We Are the Fallen. The members of the band include American Idol 7 finalist Carly Smithson as the lead singer, former Evanescence members Rocky Gray and John LeCompt, and Moody's friend Marty O'Brien. We Are the Fallen made their first public appearance together for a press conference at SIR Studios in Los Angeles, CA, on June 22, 2009. Their debut album, Tear The World Down was released in May 2010 to generally positive reviews.
The first single "Untie Yourself" reached number four on 5FM's Top 40 – 2007 and earned the band a slot at My Coke Fest (2007) which saw them share the stage with 3 Doors Down, Hoobastank, Staind and Evanescence at My Coke Fest 2007. Live is where one gets to experience the energy of Taxi Violence, so much so that it earned them ‘Best Live Act of 2007’ by Media24. By March 2008, Loedi Van Renen had decided to focus on other projects which meant he we have to relocate to Johanessburg. Before his departure the band held auditions which saw the recruitment of bassist Jason Ling.
In early 2007, her full-length album "You Like It Clean" was released independently. It features "We Belong", a remixed and new vocal version of "If We Believe" and 9 other cuts written entirely by Lynn. Other notable musicians on this album include Stacy Jones (drums) and Jamie Arentzen (guitarist for American Hi-Fi), Chris Johnson (worked with Evanescence), Frank Gryner, producer/programmer to artists such as Tommy Lee and Rob Zombie, Danny Miranda (of Blue Öyster Cult), Sasha Krivtsov, former touring bassist for such artists as Vanessa Carlton and Billy Idol, and drummer Mark Schulman, who has toured or recorded with Cher, Foreigner, Pink, Stevie Nicks, and Sheryl Crow.
The Courier-Mails Jason Nahrung noted that the song was the album's most radio- friendly one and at the same time reminiscent of Lee's previous work with Moody, which according to him meant a use of "heavy bass and drums, spotless and lavish production and Lee's unmistakable vocals". Writing for Rolling Stone, Rob Sheffield noted how Lee's vocals, which he described as "over the top, in the mode of Eighties shoulder-pad belters like Pat Benatar or Heart's Ann Wilson", are fitting for a breakup song like "Call Me When You're Sober". A writer for Canada.com concluded that Evanescence showed their "staying power" on the "biting single".
However, the producers of Narnia stated that Lee was never asked to compose any music for the film, whose score was written by Harry Gregson-Williams, and that "No Evanescence music was planned for the soundtrack." While there was some speculation that one of the supposed songs had been cut and used in several tracks of The Open Door, Lee stated this was not true except for part of it being used to segue into the last track of the album, "Good Enough". Lee became the American chairperson for Out of the Shadows in 2006. This organization is an international foundation with the goal of providing education about epilepsy.
Ryszard Koziołek emphasizes the transgressive role of esthetic in Sienkiewicz's works. He argues that the main issue in “Without dogma” is an ability of an esthetic object (defined usually as a piece of art, but on some occasions also as a woman or nature) to smooth away the evanescence of human being. As can be seen in his private letters and notes on literature, Sienkiewicz was an independent artist with a lot of self-esteem who sought to create in his works a substitution of a real world that could be meaningful and purposeful. Krystyna Kłosińska rated "No dogma" among the "novels about the fitful age".
Breakaway is the second studio album by American singer Kelly Clarkson, released on November 30, 2004, by RCA Records. The album is a follow-up to her successful debut album, Thankful (2003). Executive produced by Clive Davis, Breakaway sees Clarkson collaborating with various producers and songwriters for the first time, primarily Dr. Luke, Max Martin, John Shanks, Kara DioGuardi, Ben Moody, and David Hodges; the latter two are former members of American rock band Evanescence. Despite the established commercial success of Thankful, music critics still continued to typecast Clarkson as an American Idol winner and were also critical of her attempts of establishing a commercial appeal on her own.
The team's subsequent record "Deoro XX" won the Popular Voting Award for World Beat at the Independent Music awards the following year. Wind Up hired Jay Baumgardner and Fortman to co-produce their debut album. In 2002 Wind Up’s owners Alan and Diana Meltzer hired Fortman to produce Evanescence, a then unknown band from Little Rock, Arkansas. In March 2003 Evanescence’s album Fallen was released and went on to sell 17 million copies worldwide with 4 Grammy nominations including Song of the Year for "Bring Me to Life" and Record of the Year. The album was later certified platinum in 33 countries. Korn's fifth album Untouchables, and Papa Roach's second album Lovehatetragedy, did not sell as well as their previous releases, while nu metal bands were played more infrequently on rock radio stations and MTV began focusing on pop punk and emo.J. D'Angelo, "Will Korn, Papa Roach and Limp Bizkit evolve or die: a look at the Nu Metal meltdown" , MTV, retrieved January 2, 2010. However, Korn's album Untouchables went platinum and its single "Here to Stay" peaked at number 72 on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number one on MTV's Total Request Live twice. A live performance of the song from the concert at Le Zénith, Paris as part of the tour is featured on their first live album, Anywhere but Home (2004). At the 2006 Jingle Ball, Evanescence performed "Going Under" and "Call Me When You're Sober". Before starting to sing the song Lee announced, "We're going to do something completely different from everyone else tonight — and rock as hard as we can". "Going Under" was further part of the set list of the band's second worldwide tour (2006-2007) in support of their second studio album, The Open Door. The band played the song live at their secret New York City gig which took place on November 4, 2009.

Brandan is a former member of bands Eso-Charis, Living Sacrifice, The Handshake Murders, and Uses Fire, and a current member of the bands Norma Jean, Fear is the Driving Force and The Radio Sky. He was one of the founding members of Mathcore band Eso-Charis, along with his brother, Matthew Putman and Arthur Green who eventually went on to join the band Living Sacrifice. He played guitar for a tour through Norway and Sweden with Living Sacrifice, before being replaced by Rocky Gray (who would go on to play drums in Evanescence and guitar in Soul Embraced). Brandan then toured with and later joined Norma Jean permanently as their lead vocalist, replacing former vocalist Josh Scogin.
AllMusics Stephen Thomas Erlewine picked the song as one of the album's three highlights, saying that it had structure, hooks and momentum. In his review of The Open Door for the Hartford Courant, Eric R. Danton observed that Lee was more certain and in charge of the whole album, something he found to be exemplified on the "terse rocker" with an "acerbic message" that is "Call Me When You're Sober". The New York Times Kelefa Sanneh praised Lee's vocal performance calling it "terrific"; he noted that the song "crashes through different styles while remaining diabolically hummable". Sanneh further classified the song as "classic Evanescence", which according to him meant "bombastic, meticulously produced... [and] unreasonably addictive".
"When Daylight Dies" has been played on more than 4 dozen radio stations in the United States including Hard Drive and The Rock 30. Lead vocalist Patrick Kennison and Marty O'Brien, Heaven Below's bassist at the time who performed and continues to perform in We Are the Fallen befriended Ben Moody of Evanescence and We Are the Fallen. When Moody heard the track, he told the band that while he'd like to produce the entire Countdown to Devil album, that he had availability for one song only. When Moody stated that he wanted to make "a cinematic song that sounds like something epic", Kennison agreed to have Moody work on the song.
Amy Lee, lead singer of gloomy Arkansas rockers Evanescence, is an exception." Kirk Miller of Rolling Stone said that "when vocalist Amy Lee croons about lying 'in my field of paper flowers' or 'pouring crimson regret,' she gives Fallen a creepy spiritual tinge that the new-metal boys lack." Billboards Christa Titus called the album a "highly polished, hook-filled affair." Melissa Maerz of Spin gave it four out of five stars: "Nu metal gets a powdering of Andrew Lloyd Webber theatrics as Lee aces her piano A-levels, adds a string section, and tackles capital letter issues – God ('Tourniquet'), Love ('Going Under'), and Death ('Bring Me To Life') – with the grandeur they deserve.

They added the song to the set list of their third worldwide tour in support of their third self-titled studio album (2011), titled the Evanescence Tour (2011–12). In 2011, they performed an acoustic version of the song at SirusXM which was broadcast on the December 25 as part of the Artist Confidential special. The band later also included the song on the set list of their fourth tour which visited cities in the U.S. and Europe in 2016 and 2017. Simon Reed from the website Rock Shot described the performance of "Lithium" as a "sweet, stripped back version" while Shoka Shohani from The Upcoming found elements of "angelic melancholia" in it.
In the December 2008 edition of his monthly SuicideGirls column, Food Coma, guitarist Scott Ian revealed that he had been in the studio working on the new Anthrax album since November 4. Ian went on to say that drums, bass, and rhythm guitar had been arranged for 19 tracks, and that the process of recording the vocals had begun. "We should be mixing at the end of January and soon after that giving birth to a really pissed off, loud, fast and heavy child." In a subsequent May 2009 Food Coma column, Ian announced that the album was being mixed by Dave Fortman, whose previous credits include albums by Evanescence and Slipknot.
She can also be heard on electronica/producer Bonobo's album "The North Borders", and has recorded with Mandy Barnett, Evanescence, Lionel Richie, Sissel, Jamie Lidell. Alternative metal band Evanescence made their mark on the music industry with their début single "Bring Me To Life", which topped the charts for 4 weeks. The band, a four piece from Little Rock, Arkansas, fronted by Amy Lee, went on to massive success with their début album, Fallen which topped the album chart for a week and spawned another 3 Top 10 hits during the year. Topping the charts for the third time since their career began in 1997, the Stereophonics were back at the top with You Gotta Go There to Come Back. The album spawned 2 Top 5 hits, following the pattern from their previous 2 chart topping albums.
Manufactured by a friend, this rough-draft full-length debut had only a few thousand copies made of the album and were being sold for on eBay immediately following Fallens release. Although it is commonly referred to as a full-length album, lead vocalist and co-founder Amy Lee refers to it as a "dressed up" demo CD, and urges fans to simply download the album, rather than purchase it. It contains earlier versions of "Whisper", "Imaginary", and "My Immortal", which appeared on the band's debut studio album, Fallen, as well as a re-recorded version of the track "Where Will You Go", which previously appeared on the Evanescence EP released in 1998. One known track omitted was "Catherine".
Evanescence performing at a concert of the first leg of The Open Door world tour "Sweet Sacrifice", the first song of the album, contains "rumbling guitars" and a string section according to IGNs Ed Thompson. The main theme of the song is recovery from an abusive relationship, which also inspired all of the songs on Fallen. Jordan Reimer of The Daily Princetonian and Rob Sheffield of Rolling Stone said the song was written for Evanescence's former guitarist Ben Moody. "Call Me When You're Sober" is a rock song that starts as a piano ballad before quickly becoming an alternative metal song that uses elements of nu metal, symphonic rock and pop music.
It also charted within the top 20 of several other national charts and was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 2009, and Gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). The second single from The Open Door, "Lithium" was released in the United Kingdom on January 8, 2007. Commercially, it peaked at number 26 on the Australian Singles Chart, at number 32 on the UK Singles Chart and at number 16 on the New Zealand Singles Chart. The record's third single was originally planned to be "All That I'm Living For", but after considering the wishes of Evanescence and its fans, the label released "Sweet Sacrifice" instead.
Billboard said, "Those who embraced Fallen will doubtlessly fall even harder into The Open Door." Spins Mellisa Maerz rated the album with four stars out of five and commented, "A post-dysfunctional kiss-off that builds from ethereal Sunday-mass uplift into full-eff-you guitar dirges, revealing an angrier, more self-assured Lee who waxes sardonic [...] but still misses the comfort in being sad". Stephen Thomas Erlewine from AllMusic wrote that "The Open Door is a muddle of affections. Sonically, however, it captures the Evanescence mythos better and more consistently than the first album - after all, Lee now has no apologies of being the thinking man's nu-metal chick, now that she's a star".
Taking Chances is the tenth English-language studio album by Canadian singer Celine Dion, released by Columbia Records on 7 November 2007. Dion returned to the music scene after almost five years of performing A New Day... in Las Vegas. She collaborated on Taking Chances with various rock, R&B; and pop producers, including John Shanks, Linda Perry, ex-Evanescence members Ben Moody and David Hodges, Kristian Lundin, Ne-Yo, Chuck Harmony, Tricky Stewart, the Eurythmics' David A. Stewart, Kara DioGuardi, Emanuel Kiriakou, Anders Bagge, Peer Åström, Aldo Nova, Christopher Neil and Guy Roche. The album garnered mixed reviews from music critics, who noticed that "not many chances were taken after all".

On September 17, 2019, the band had originally announced that they would be embarking on a co-headlining tour with Evanescence in April and May 2020 titled Worlds Collide. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, both Within Temptation and their co-headliner had postponed the tour to September 2020, later postponing it again to fall 2021. During the outbreak, the band took part at the Together at Home movement, where artists make online live performances in order to encourage people to stay home and prevent more infection cases. On April 30, 2020, the band announced the release of a new single on May 8, 2020, "Entertain You", scheduled to be part of the band's upcoming eighth studio album.
The music video ranked at number four on the list The 15 Scariest Music Videos Ever published by Billboard in 2013. The writers summarized the clip, writing: "Evanescence compares the trappings of fame to being haunted by ghouls in this clip... Singer Amy Lee's makeup is applied by a gaggle of sinister old women, while the crowd at the band's show morphs into a ravenous pack of zombies. Lee eventually overcomes the visions - only to find that guitarist Ben Moody is a demon as well." In 2016, the song's clip was also included on the Official Charts Company's list titled "13 of the scariest, spine-chilling videos in the history of music" with writer Justin Myers calling the scenes of audience members turning into zombies "pretty freaky".
Andrew Unterberger of the website Popdust compared the song with Ryan Tedder-produced songs like Jordin Sparks' "Battlefield" and Kelly Clarkson's "Already Gone". Priya Elan of NME felt that the piano parts in "Start Over" were similar to songs by rock band Evanescence because of its processed drums and piano riffing. "Start Over" finds Knowles affirming her individuality and expressing her love for a man with whom she attempts to start a relationship all over again rather than losing it. Jon Caramanica of The New York Times added that Knowles' emotional radar "is set to loyalty, for better or worse — sometimes that loyalty is rewarded, and sometimes it has been betrayed, but over all, she operates on the axis of faithfulness".
Evanescence was first released in snippets, with portions of "What You Want", "The Other Side" and "Lost in Paradise" previewed on MTV News on July 11, 13 and 15 respectively. Several songs were made available online, including "The Other Side", which premiered on September 21 at Hot Topic; "My Heart Is Broken" on September 27, and "End of the Dream" on Spin on October 4. All songs became available on Spin on October 7. A Renholdër remix of "Made of Stone" appears on the soundtrack and in the closing credits of the film Underworld: Awakening, and a Photek remix of "A New Way to Bleed" is on The Avengers soundtrack Avengers Assemble: Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture.
We Are the Fallen began forming when Moody had discussions with Evanescence band members Gray and LeCompt about the band moving in a different direction than originally planned. Moody felt something had to change in order to preserve their style of music and left due to "creative differences" with Amy Lee, the band's co-founder and frontwoman. Years later when Gray and LeCompt also left the band, Moody reached out to them in attempts to continue where they had left off in 2003 with Fallen, recruiting O'Brien in the process. The band held auditions looking for a lead singer in New York City and Moody feared that the search for the band's "soulmate" was going to take a long time due to the exhaustive process.
This soundtrack was a collection mostly consisting of tracks written, produced, remixed, and performed by Lohner and his friends in the industry, including David Bowie, TRUSTcompany, Maynard James Keenan, Johnette Napolitano, and others. Lohner worked with Richard Patrick of Filter, Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit and Black Light Burns, and Josh Freese of A Perfect Circle and Nine Inch Nails, in a project called The Damning Well. Only one song, "Awakening", was released by the group on the soundtrack. Another track, "Coward", which originally featured Amy Lee of Evanescence on guest vocals, would eventually be reworked to be included on the debut album by Black Light Burns without Lee's vocals due to collaboration restrictions from her record label Wind-Up.
Den Adel has performed on- stage and in the studio with several notable artists from varied musical genres, including Tarja Turunen, Armin van Buuren, After Forever, De Heideroosjes, Oomph!, Delain, Agua de Annique, Anneke van Giersbergen and Evanescence. Before forming Within Temptation, the singer worked together with Voyage, formed by some of the future Within Temptation members, on the track "Frozen" (not to be confused with the Within Temptation song of the same title). The vocalist took part in several rock and metal opera projects, singing the part of Anna Held in two of Tobias Sammet's Avantasia releases, The Metal Opera and The Metal Opera Part II, later also singing the part of the "Muse" in the 2016 album Ghostlights.
The Open Door is the second studio album by American rock band Evanescence, released on September 25, 2006, by Wind-up Records. The album was initially set to be released in March 2006, but was postponed as a result of guitarist Terry Balsamo's stroke, the loss of the band's former manager, and Will Boyd's and Ben Moody's departure from the group. The record symbolizes a new beginning for the band, incorporating new elements into their previous musical styles, including gothic rock and symphonic metal, as well as the use of choirs on several songs. The writing process for the album took over 18 months to complete; most of the songs were written by Amy Lee and Terry Balsamo, while production was handled by Dave Fortman.
The album was recorded mainly over a three-week period in July 2007 at Palm Studios in Las Vegas. Dion collaborated with a group of well-known songwriters and producers including: Linda Perry, the Eurythmics' David A. Stewart, ex-Evanescence member Ben Moody, Ne-Yo, John Shanks, Kara DioGuardi, Kristian Lundin, Anders Bagge, Peer Åström, Aldo Nova, Tricky Stewart and Christopher Neil. One of Dion's favorite songs on the album is "That's Just the Woman in Me" written by Kimberley Rew, ex-member of Katrina and the Waves. "That's Just the Woman in Me" was offered to Dion fifteen years ago but it wasn't until she began working on her new album that she knew the song perfectly suited this new phase of her artistic development.
In January 2007 the band was invited to the biggest Chilean rock festival ever made, "La Cumbre del Rock", playing in front of more than 45,000 people in "Estadio Nacional" of Santiago. Soon after, they release "Inimaginable" which again was airplayed on MTV and played part in the soundtrack of a very popular soap opera at the time, "Vivir con 10". The same year the band was invited by Amy Lee's manager, Andrew Lurie, to open for Evanescence at their show in Santiago, after listening to the band's songs in their Myspace. This generated interest in the media, which grew bigger because two days later they were playing another historic festival, "Vive Latino" in Chile, with bands such us Los tres, Keane, Catupecu Machu and others.
Jacklin grew up in the Blue Mountains, Australia, in a family of school teachers. Inspired by Britney Spears, at the age of 10, she took classical singing lessons before joining a high school band which did Avril Lavigne and Evanescence covers. She studied social policy at Sydney University, and after graduating she lived in a garage in Glebe, a suburb of Sydney, and worked in a factory making Essential oils. Growing up, Jacklin did not know anyone who was a full-time musician, and her family did not understand what it meant to be a musician: “They didn’t really see it as being something that was going to work out, at all,” Jacklin says in an interview with Sound of Boston.
The voluminous Writings of the Baha'i Faith are filled with thousands of references to divine attributes, of which equanimity is one. Similar in intent and more frequently used than "equanimity" in the Baha'i Writings are "detachment" and "selflessness" which dispose human beings to free themselves from inordinate reactions to the changes and chances of the world. Humanity is called upon to show complete and sublime detachment from aught else but God, from all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth, from the material world and from the promptings of their own interests and passions. Related concepts include faith, the concept of growing through suffering and being tested, fortitude under trials, dignity, patience, prudence, moderation, freedom from material things, radiant acquiescence, wisdom and evanescence.
The first number-one single of the year was 2003's "Christmas Time (Don't Let the Bells End)" by The Darkness, which topped the chart published on Boxing Day 2010. "Christmas Time (Don't Let the Bells End)" was also the final number-one single of the year, topping the final chart of the year published on Christmas Day. The most successful song on the UK Rock & Metal Singles Chart in 2011 was "Iris" by Goo Goo Dolls, which spent ten weeks at number one across three different spells. "Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence was number one for five weeks in 2011, while the band also topped the chart with "My Immortal" (two weeks) and "What You Want" (one week).
Two of Smithson's own original songs, titled "Let Me Fall" and "Lay with Me," were featured in an Los Angeles Times interview video of Carly recording songs for her post-Idol album. In the interview, Smithson revealed that "pop rock" was the sound she had chosen and explained "I don't want to go too hard rock or too pop." Smithson was putting the finishing touches on the album when it was announced on 18 June 2009, that she would be joining forces with Evanescence co-founder Ben Moody in a new band called We Are the Fallen, thought to be named after Evanescence's first album. The solo album Smithson had been recording was reportedly scrapped. On 28 October 2009, it was announced that We Are the Fallen, along with Smithson, had signed with Universal Republic.

The single achieved moderate commercial success, failing to appear on the main U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and entering the top 40 in several countries worldwide, where it spent several weeks charting. A music video directed by Paul Fedor was released in November 2006 and it features Lee and the band performing the song in a dark snowy forest. Lee eventually drowns in a lake full of black water which is meant to illustrate the song's lyrics about feelings of sorrow. The song was performed by the band as part of the set list on four of their five worldwide tours, namely The Open Door Tour (2006–07), the Evanescence Tour (2011-12), their fourth worldwide tour which took place in the period 2016-17 and the Synthesis Tour (2017–18).
Although its subgenre, indie rock, was in the spotlight during the 2010s, successful alternative rock bands in this decade were Imagine Dragons, Linkin Park, Muse, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Weezer, Kasabian, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Kongos, Cage The Elephant, Evanescence, Metric, Nickelback, Arctic Monkeys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Three Days Grace, The War On Drugs, Green Day, Pearl Jam, Queens Of The Stone Age, Panic! at the Disco, Kaleo, Fall Out Boy, Blink-182, Twenty One Pilots, Radiohead, Jack Johnson, Death from Above 1979, Paramore, Biffy Clyro, Bring Me the Horizon and Nothing But Thieves. All of these bands had had albums debut in the top 5. With Fall Out Boy scoring 3 number 1 albums in a row on the Billboard 200 album chart in 2013, 2015, and 2018.

Evanescence's Amy Lee performing in 2011 Many distinguished musicians have chosen to compose, perform and record using Baldwin pianos, including the pianists Walter Gieseking, Claudio Arrau, Jorge Bolet, Morton Estrin, Margaret Baxtresser (née Barthel), Earl Wild and José Iturbi and the composers Aaron Copland, Philip Glass, Igor Stravinsky, Béla Bartók, Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Bernstein, Lukas Foss, André Previn, and John Williams. Baldwin pianos have been used by popular entertainers including Ray Charles, Liberace, Richard Carpenter, Michael Feinstein, Billy Joel, Cat Stevens, and Carly Simon, and jazz pianists Dave Brubeck, George Shearing and Dick Hyman. Amy Lee, the lead vocalist, pianist and keyboardist of Evanescence also uses this brand in most of her compositions, recordings and live performances. A Baldwin piano was seen nightly being played by Paul Shaffer on the Late Show with David Letterman.
His career in the music video direction has included notable videos for a diverse array of musicians, including Carrie Underwood, My Chemical Romance, John Mayer, Three Days Grace, Billy Corgan (as well as Corgan's band, The Smashing Pumpkins), Evanescence, Seal, Audioslave, Prince, Jack White, Alicia Keys, Slipknot, Sevendust, Bullet for My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Staind, Matisyahu, Mötley Crüe, Goo Goo Dolls, Miley Cyrus, Snoop Lion, Static-X, Green Day, and Death Cab for Cutie. In 2008, Brown was nominated for a Grammy award for his work on the music video "Another Way To Die" by musicians Jack White and Alicia Keys. In 2012 Brown raised over $49,000 for his film Shoot'er through the fundraising platform Kickstarter. After reaching the financial goal, thanks to fans and investors, work on the film was supposed to commence.
However, during the pre-production of Evanescence, the band quickened the tempo of the song, so when the group attempted to record the song, playing the harp's part was not feasible. Particularly, Lee confessed that the song sounded better with the piano as it was a stronger and more prominent instrument which made the song "one of the most passionate songs on the whole album". "My Heart Is Broken" portrays a ballad that starts with piano and Lee singing the lines "I will never find a way to heal my soul/ And I will wander 'til the end of time/ Torn away from you/ My heart is broken" during the chorus of the track. Chad Grischow of website IGN noticed "cascading piano and grubby march of guitar and stomping drums" in the single's composition, which was similar to the band's older material.
The usage of a female vocalist has become a sort of trademark, though less so since the outbreak of new female fronted metal bands in the mid-2000s with the popularization of bands such as Evanescence and Within Temptation as well as several gothic metal bands mixing female and male vocals, such as Lacuna Coil, Tristania, Epica and After Forever. Bassist and vocalist Marco Hietala describes the style of the band's music as "melodic symphonic metal;" though this is not a view shared by all members of the group, including band composer Tuomas Holopainen, who describes the band as simply symphonic metal. Some critics find that the band had a gothic sound since their debut. The music of Nightwish had been "distinguished by the operatic voice" of soprano Tarja Turunen, a "charismatic frontwoman with a powerful voice".
Lee in São Paulo, Brazil, in 2007 In 2000, Lee sang on two of former Evanescence keyboardist David Hodges' songs: "Breathe" (The Summit Church: Summit Worship) and the unreleased "Fall Into You". She performed backup vocals for "Missing You", a song on Big Dismal's 2003 debut album Believe, and sang backup vocals on two songs with supergroup The Damning Well, though her vocals were taken off the final release due to record label issues. Lee later performed a duet with her then-boyfriend Shaun Morgan on the track "Broken" for Seether's 2004 album Disclaimer II. The song is in the soundtrack for the 2004 film The Punisher. In 2004, Lee claimed to be working on music for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, but that the music was rejected by the studio for being "too dark".
Kelly Cavuoto (born 3 June 1981), was eliminated on 6 October 2003, placed eighth. Prior to Australian Idol, she had many years singing experience with rock bands throughout South Australia, before auditioning in 2004. Dubbed "The Rock Chick" by judge Ian "Dicko" Dickson, she covered a selection of harder edged rock songs throughout the series, at odds with most other contestants who chose to cover pop songs. :Audition: "Just A Girl" (No Doubt) :Theatre Week (Round 1): "Chase The Dragon" (Machine Gun Fellatio) :Theatre Week (Round 3): "You Oughta Know" (Alanis Morissette) :Top 40: "Bring Me to Life" (Evanescence) :Top 12: "Whole Lotta Love" (Led Zeppelin) Bottom 3 :Top 10: "Tomorrow" (Silverchair) Bottom 3 :Top 8: "Mascara" (Killing Heidi) Eliminated In January 2004, Cavuoto appeared as a co-host for Channel Ten's Video Hits music program.
Recorded at Sonic Ranch (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Ministry, Gogol Bordello) and NRG (Motörhead, Foo Fighters, No Doubt) studios, Desperate was produced and mixed by award-winning producer Jay Baumgardner (Bush, Evanescence, Lacuna Coil) and mastered by Grammy award-winning mastering engineer Howie Weinberg (Nirvana's Nevermind, Red Hot Chili Peppers' Blood Sugar Sex Magik, U2's Pop). In 2016 and 2017 the band continued to tour both in Europe and in the United States, also performing all summer long on Vans Warped Tour. In 2017 the day after Vans Warped Tour finished, the band released their third official studio album "Rub My Mind" on CD, LP and Digital via Motörhead Music/Silver Lining Music/Warner Music Group to high acclaim. The top critics choice album saw two music videos released: for "Back In The USSA" and "Fade Away".

Four of the song's track's "Feed", "Bomber", "Are You Breathing", and "End Over End", all originate from the band's 2014 debut EP, Until We Meet Again. These initial sessions were quick and fruitful; guitarist Chris Shy contacted vocalist Pete Murray shortly after Lo-Pro's third studio album's release in 2013, and the EP was released in March 2014. The songs were written over emails between Shy and Murray, and after sessions went well, Murray recruited past Lo-Pro bassist John Fahnestock as bassist, while Shy recruited Evanescence drummer Will Hunt, a musician he had always desired to work with historically. The band did not all work together in one place until the first day of the songs recordings. Work on a follow up, full-length album started shortly after the EP's release, with the band entering the studio in August 2014.
He represented his division and parent company, Gaylord Entertainment, for industry-wide events and functions. Teague was responsible for the presentation of completed projects at sales conferences and followed through with marketing and sales divisions to maximize exposure for each release. He was A&R; direction/executive producer for projects featuring Collin Raye, Kenny Rogers, Chet Atkins, Michael W. Smith, Ricky Van Shelton, Skip Ewing and Gary Chapman, and compilation projects featuring Patty Loveless, Rick Trevino, Shenandoah, Ricky Skaggs and Doug Stone among others, for sales and marketing in the Country and Christian marketplace. From 2000-2006, Teague was Creative Director/Staff Producer for Seventeen Grand Studios in Nashville, a studio known for recording such artists as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Jimmy Buffett, Shania Twain, Alison Krauss, Kenny Chesney, John Prine, Martina McBride, Travis Tritt, and Evanescence.
They played their first headline show since October 2015 on 6 February 2017 in the Bush Hall, London to 400 people, where they debuted three new songs from the album 'Before Me', 'Curtains' and 'Off The Floor'. Prior to the release of the album the band performed at a few European festivals- including Reading and Leeds Festival, Moscow's Dobrofest and Switzerland's Bern Gurten festival- and supported Evanescence in London on two shows. On 15 September 2017, the band's second studio album, Melancholia Hymns, was released through Easy Life Recordings. The album was a significant stylistic departure, relying heavily on electronic sounds – while the band remained confident in the songs they had written, they were uncertain of the potential response to the new music, with Groves describing his fear that it would be perceived as "‘Arcane Roots Find A Synthesiser" or "Rock Band Finds Drum Machine".
Amiri Firuzkuhi was at odds with the conventional terming of the Saib style as Indian insisting that it was in a separate 'Isfihani' genre. Apart from his work in ghazal and qasida, he is noted for composing poetry in the form of tarkib-band In contrast to his ghazals, Amiri tended to compose his qasidas in the Khurasani genre, following the precedents of Khaqani, Nasir Khusraw, Mas'ud Sa'd and Anvari. His poetry is fraught with the bemoaning of life with its evanescence and vicissitudes, along with his own personal lack of fulfillment, his lyrically expressed pain and frustration. Amiri Firuzkuhi's home in Tehran is known as a haven for the deeply feeling, where cultured people like 'Abd al-Rahman Parsa Tuysirkani, Ahmad Mahdavi Damghani, Habib Yaghma'i, Ghulam Husayn Ra'di Adarkhshi, and prominent classical musicians gathered in a convivial atmosphere for fruitful discussion of poetry, belles- lettres, and art.
Fahrenheit (stylized ºFahrenheit) was a hard rock band from Santiago, Chile, deeply influenced by 1980s and '70s rock artists such as Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe and Skid Row. ºFahrenheit were well known in the Latin-American rock scene for their intense on-stage performance, energetic sound and guitar solos. Throughout twelve years of career, ºFahrenheit received positive reviews from the media, along with worldwide exposure through MTV and Much Music, breaking new ground in the yet unexplored Spanish rock market. The band played massive shows in Chile and Mexico, including opening for Evanescence, Mötley Crüe and the “Vive Latino” festival. After releasing their debut album “Chain Reaction” through Perris Records, the band decided to develop their music in its native language and started working in their first Spanish album, “Nuevos Tiempos”, with multi-platinum producer David Prater, known for his work with Dream Theater, Firehouse and the Dirty Dancing movie OST.
Their debut single "Push Push" and debut album Rockers to Rockers marked the first fusion of the influences of dub and house music and "redefined dub for the acid house generation", going some way to establish the sound that would later become known as trip hop. In 1993 Whittingham and Bush formed the Different Drummer record label, which quickly grew an international roster of artists to become "the premier outlet for forward-thinking dub productions", building links with wider scenes including German and Austrian nu-jazz. They later also launched the Different Drummer sound system, which toured worldwide. Former Napalm Death drummer Mick Harris's Scorn project severed its last sonic links to its grindcore roots with its 1994 release Evanescence, creating "a dark digital domain where fancy danceable beats pop under thick clouds of textured samples, deep bass and minimal muted vocals"; that redefined ambient dub by moving away from generic Roland TR-808 synthesiser elements and creating a sound much darker than that associated with Oscilllate.
Written by American singer Ne-Yo, Mikkel S. Eriksen and Tor Erik Hermansen of Stargate, the song was originally titled "Murderer" and was inspired by the works of American rock band Evanescence. It garnered a mixed response from critics; many praised its powerful balladry, but some criticized the lyrics. The single peaked at number six on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart as well as at number two on the UK Singles Chart. The song's accompanying music video was directed by Anthony Mandler, and features Rihanna in a love triangle in which she struggles to choose between her husband and her romantic interest, and regrets having cheated on the former. Rihanna performed the song at the 2006 MOBO Awards and it has been included on the set lists of her concert tours, the Good Girl Gone Bad Tour (2007–09), the Last Girl on Earth (2010–11) and the Loud Tour (2011).
There were growing rumours that the group were on the verge of splitting up due to Hunt and McLawhorn's involvement with Evanescence however guitarist Clint Lowery shot down these rumours stating: On June 25, a new song titled Hail Mary was posted on the groups Myspace. In September 2007, Clint posted on Dark New Day's MySpace page saying that the band returned to the studio to record their next album with producer Dave Bendeth. Mixing began in November and the album was completed by December with the band confirming some of the songs titles to appear on the album such as Simple, Hail Mary, Fiend, Outside and Vicious Thinking. In March 2008, the group posted one of the tracks set to appear on the new album on Myspace titled Goodbye however a few days later it was announced that Clint had rejoined previous band Sevendust although he still hoped the new album would be released soon.
A writer from the Leader-Post praised Lee's "stunning notes" on "Lithium" which he further described as the equivalent of "My Immortal" from the band's debut studio album Fallen (2003). Saying that it "could blow a hole in the wall", a writer from Billboard went on to describe the song as "the kind of number Evanescence was born to perform: cinematic production, gripping orchestration and Amy Lee's voice gliding through verses and soaring over choruses". The writer finished off his review by noting that Lee's "latest musical affair with darkness is captivating" and it would almost make listeners "wish [their] heart was broken". A more mixed review came from R.J. Carter of the music website The Trades, who felt that "Lithium" was one of The Open Doors two songs which would have been better off as bonus tracks, adding "['Lithium'] stretches Lee's glass-shattering capabilities to a level which, at one point, I'm sure deafened the German Shepherd down the street".
Tyrone Wells playing at the City Winery in NYC on 4-28-2011 Wells traveled to London to work on Remain. "Half of the album was done in London and the other half completed in the States," says Wells. "I didn't know what kind of record I was going to make before I got to London, but something just seemed to click while I was there that really defined what I wanted to do with this album." Wells worked with songwriter and producer Martin Terefe (Jason Mraz, KT Tunstall, James Morrison) and Iain Archer (UK indie artist and Snow Patrol co-writer) in the UK, and Tim Myers (formerly of OneRepublic), David Hodges (formerly of Evanescence) and Matt Scannell (Vertical Horizon) in the U.S. The song "Losing Ground", one of a handful of production/songwriting collaborations between Wells and Terefe, was written and demoed in less than 3 hours during their first writing session together.
P.O.D. During the early 2000s, a new wave of metal began with interest in the newly emerging genre nu metal and genres of a similar style such as rap metal and the later mainstream success rap rock. The popularity of nu metal music carried over from the late 1990s, where it was introduced by early work from bands such as Korn, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, Incubus, Coal Chamber, and Rage Against the Machine into the early 2000s with the similar genre, rap rock, bringing in a wave of monster- hit artists such as System of a Down, Evanescence, P.O.D, Staind, Papa Roach, and Disturbed. The success of Korn's third studio album, Follow The Leader and Limp Bizkit's Significant Other and Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water, brought nu metal to the mainstream. Limp Bizkit's Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water would sell over 1,050,000 in its first week - making it the highest selling rock record with first week sales ever.
Final WKBE logo under Modern AC format, 2006–2013After the relaunch in 2006, the station's playlist included mainly modern and active rock artists, such as Alanis Morissette, Evanescence, No Doubt, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Green Day, as well as pop rock acts such as Kelly Clarkson, Christina Perri, Paramore, Neon Trees, and Avril Lavigne. In the late 2000s, soul music artists such as Adele, Duffy, and KT Tunstall began to be added to the playlist; however, by 2010, the station has become closer to a true modern rock format, although the station still plays some modern AC and AAA artists which are not found on most modern rock stations. By 2012, Arbitron, Mediabase and Nielsen BDS reported the station under the hot adult contemporary format. On December 27, 2013, WKBE and sister station WFFG-FM swapped formats and call letters; WKBE became a country music format as Froggy 100.3 and WFFG-FM became a modern AC/AAA format as 107.1 The Point.
Writing sessions first began upon the band being asked if they would hypothetically be open to the prospect of writing a soundtrack for a "post apocalyptic cyborg type movie". The band, unfamiliar with working under the confine of a soundtrack or concept album mentality, decided to write a few songs and see how they felt about it. While the band would ultimately not do the soundtrack, the band would continue to use tracks from the session, "Soulless", "Wasteland", "Obedience", and "We Are The Ones" for Disintegration Effect, and similar themes throughout the rest of the album's recording process. The band continued to record throughout 2012, although Murray later admitted that progress was slowed due to band members working on other projects, including concurrently working on a second Life On Planet 9 album, and contributing a few tracks to the Battlefield of the Mind Soundtrack, the latter being a collaborative music project featuring band members of Staind, Megadeth, and Evanescence.

The band's publicist stated his departure was due to "personal reasons on both sides" The band considered Damageplan bassist Bob Zilla as Paul thought; "It was kind of hard to go ahead and commit to this band without Bob being part of it". Zilla was invited to audition and got the gig immediately. Hellyeah embarked on their first tour on May 2007 titled Fire it Up, made an appearance at the Download Festival, and underwent Australian tour in July 2007. The Family Values Tour with Korn and Evanescence, saw the band start touring in late July, which also consisted playing with Alter Bridge in San Antonio before passing through thirty cities before ending in Washington, D.C. A DVD titled Below the Belt was released on November 13, 2007, and featured a documentary, music videos, performance footage from the making of the album, first studio sessions, coverage of the band's world tour, and personal interviews.
The Sommerfeld–Zenneck wave or Zenneck wave is a non-radiative guided electromagnetic wave that is supported by a planar or spherical interface between two homogeneous media having different dielectric constants. This surface wave propagates parallel to the interface and decays exponentially vertical to it, a property known as evanescence. It exists under the condition that the permittivity of one of the materials forming the interface is negative, while the other one is positive, as for example the interface between air and a lossy conducting medium such as the terrestrial transmission line, below the plasma frequency. Its electric field strength falls off at a rate of e-αd/√d in the direction of propagation along the interface due to two-dimensional geometrical field spreading at a rate of 1/√d, in combination with a frequency-dependent exponential attenuation (α), which is the terrestrial transmission line dissipation, where α depends on the medium’s conductivity.
" Danish metal music blog MetalZone called the band "A copy of Evanescence," adding "It's fine to be inspired by a band, but to make a clone of the band is perhaps excessive." They however gave the album 4 out of 6 stars." German music blog Album Check were more positive, giving the album 9 out of 10 stars and describing it as "cinemascope rock," going on to complementing the band as "bursting with passion with good hooks and melodious tunes, the sound of Cryoshell has its own style," with Lorentzen "not only [having] a pretty face, but a lot to offer musically." Enemy, another German music blog, defined Cryoshell as a "darkly symphonic Danish export" and their sound as "Classic dark and foggy converts the trio in their sound-scape" and "a mixture of orchestral elements, piano melodies, coupled with electronic parts and a rocking female voice," adding that the track "'Creeping in My Soul' carries a refrain," giving the album an overall rating of 4 out of 5.
Tiësto performing in Arnhem's GelreDome, 2004 In 2004, he released his second artist album Just Be, which featured his first single "Traffic" which is the first non-vocal track to reach number one spot in the Dutch national charts for 23 years. The track "Sweet Misery" was originally written for Evanescence but it did not meet the deadline for the release of their album. In support to his Just Be album, he played at Breda, Eindhoven, Utrecht, and Amsterdam; these stops were later named Just Be: Train Tour. On 20 May 2004 he was appointed Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau by Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. The Athens Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (ATHOC) asked Tiësto to perform at the Olympic Games, making him the first DJ to play live on stage at an Olympic Games at the 2004 Summer Olympics opening ceremony in Athens, where he played for 90 minutes. Tiësto flew to Athens in January 2004 to have a meeting with the ATHOC.
" Raymond Fiore of Entertainment Weekly gave the album a "B" rating, noting its rock direction and describing it as "Avril-meets-Evanescence, with a splash of Pat Benatar." Sal Cinquemani of Slant Magazine gave Breakaway a three-and-a-half star rating and commented that "though her rocky leanings were hinted at on the less coherent Thankful Charles Merwin wrote for Stylus Magazine that the album's probable non-singles still maintain a quality "high enough to quell worries about the "I love the singles, but that's all I really need to hear" arguments." He described Clarkson as ranking some where at the top of her class as far as rock albums go among the teen pop set, saying that she "has a long way to go before we'll ever feel comfortable calling her anything besides an American Idol, but for now she has a sound that seems believable enough to support her considerable chops." In a quick review, Billboard described Breakaway as a "rare exhibition of substance over style".
During the vogue for Emblem books in the 16th-17th centuries, the gourd was taken as the symbol of evanescence and became associated with a new version of the fable in which a pine took the place of the palm-tree. Its first appearance was in the Latin poem by Andrea Alciato that accompanied what was to become Emblem 125 (on brief happiness) in his Emblemata.View online A translation of this runs: 'A gourd is said to have sprung up close to an airy pine tree, and to have grown apace with thick foliage: when it had embraced the pine's branches and even outstripped the top, it thought it was better than other trees. To it spoke the pine: Too brief this glory, for soon to come is that which will completely destroy you - winter!' One of the first of the English emblem writers, Geoffrey Whitney, borrowed Alciato's device for his own treatment of the theme of 'happiness that endures only for a moment' in his Choice of Emblemes, published in Leiden by Christopher Plantin in 1586 (p. 34).
" While reviewing the album, Jason Lipshut of Billboard Magazine analyzed that the song "is thoroughly dramatic after four carefree tracks on the album, and while the voice don't blend perfectly, the duet is strong enough to avoid sounding forced or cobbled together." However, Dan Reilly, also from Billboard named the song to be one of the "20 best love songs by real-life couples." Nathan Jolly of The Music Network praised Lavigne's vocals, writing that, "she delivers a vocal performance that reminds us that she can belt with the best of them," while saying that Kroeger, "as usual, is so awash in effects that he sounds like an underwater Vedder-bot." Jolly continued to say that the song was a "big, brooding, Evanescence-esque power ballad will be impossible for radio programmers to ignore." Sputnikmusic's staff called the song "a ‘mandatory’ collaboration", writing that the song looks like a Nickelback song, that "could have gone a whole lot worse, but is still an overlong, overdramatic song that never needed to be created in the first place.
His relationship with the aging teacher notwithstanding, Qūnavī had to stake out his own personal connection to higher knowledge. At times, it seems, he distanced himself from Ibn 'Arabī altogether due to the emphasis on personal witness above the interpretation of others’ experience regardless of their social or spiritual station. Al-Munāwī (b. 1265) quoted him as saying that his teacher had striven to lead him to a level where God manifested Himself through flashes of manifestation to all seekers, but that he failed (NJK 222). Mystics describe a manifestation of this kind as a “flash,” because the “direct witnessing of the essence” resembles the light, speed, and evanescence of any ordinary flash or lightning. Al-Qāshānī likened the “flash” to “the illumination appearing to a person that beckons and summons to the Presence of Proximity to the Lord for a journey within God.” Ibn 'Arabī referred to the deep tranquility felt by the saintly “friends of God,” the awliyā’, who take their repose in it. Because tranquility did not always occur to them, they could only take furtive glances at the manifestation, as if in a flash (Hakim 660-61).
Shihad opened their Love Is the New Hate album tour with a free concert in Auckland's Aotea Square, and an extensive tour of Australia and New Zealand, including a spot on the main stage at Byron Bay, Australia's Splendour In The Grass, in front of an audience of approximately 20,000—the album was released in 2005. The band also toured with Cog, the Datsuns, and opened for Evanescence on part of their 2006/2007 world tour. During February and March 2008, the band completed an Australian east coast tour entitled "One Will Hear The Tour", playing a total of 30 shows, and in the second half of 2008 toured New Zealand on the "Beautiful Machine Tour" supporting the album of the same name, playing medium-size venues such as the Wellington Town Hall with support from The Mint Chicks and Luger Boa. Shihad also toured with Gyroscope around Australia for Gyroscope's "Australia Tour" during the same year. For New Year's Eve 2008/2009, Shihad performed in Gisborne, New Zealand, followed by shows at the Coroglen Tavern and the Lake Hāwea Motor Inn, also in New Zealand.
Raskulinecz, who was set to make his producing debut making Last Call for Vitriol with fellow Knoxvillians Superdrag, instead accepted Grohl's proposal and the result was One by One, released in 2002.
