On its return trip from London the next day, one of the coaches became stuck in a rotated position when the tilt system failed, and this was heavily reported in the press. Two days later, the temperature dipped and the water in the hydrokinetic brakes froze, forcing the train to end service in Crewe.

VTA closed all three stations on this line for renovation in April 2008 to provide level boarding at all doors. In 2009, the line was again proposed to be discontinued, although modified weekend-only service was a possibility. In 2019, the Almaden Shuttle's color on system maps changed from orange to purple, in preparation for an Mountain View–Alum Rock Orange Line to be inaugurated later that year. In a 2019 draft plan, VTA proposed to end service on the Ohlone/Chynoweth–Almaden line in favor of a Route 80 bus line; the final approved plan called for termination of service on December 28, 2019, with the replacement being bus 64a.

SEPTA has also been urged to restore service to West Chester by Chester County officials, who originally allowed SEPTA to end service at Elwyn in 1986. The request would give commuters an alternative to driving to the Paoli/Thorndale Line stations in Exton or Paoli, and reduce congestion on U.S. Route 202 between Route 1 and West Chester. West Chester University President Madeleine Wing Adler wrote a letter in support of an extension to West Chester, saying students needed reliable and fast transportation to Media and Philadelphia. In 2014, the borough council of West Chester voted to establish a Committee to Reestablish Rail Service to West Chester.

The SORCER Operating System (SOS) manages execution of front-end service-oriented mograms and related resources including required service providers. The SOOA kernel by itself is the service-oriented system made up of system service providers architecturally equivalent to domain specific service providers. A service provider is a container for service beans that is responsible for deploying services in the network, publishing their proxies to registries, and allowing the SOS to access proxies of deployed providers. Providers maintain their availability in the network continuously by renewing leases for their registered object proxies; registries intercept these announcements and cache/remove proxy objects per providers’ requests.

On September 13, 2018 Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced that Aer Lingus service at Bradley International Airport will continue for at least four more years under a new agreement made with the state, committing the airline to continue its transatlantic service at the airport through September 2022. Aer Lingus committed to placing one of its first four A321neoLR aircraft on the Bradley to Dublin route. Norwegian Air Shuttle flew the airport's second transatlantic European flight. The first flight was on June 17, 2017 to Edinburgh in the UK. On January 15, 2018 the airline announced it would end service from Bradley to Scotland, with the last flight leaving March 25, 2018.

Great Lakes Aviation was awarded a contract but ultimately cancelled. Owensboro was without scheduled air service from January 7, 2008, until August 31, 2009 when Pacific Wings operating as KentuckySkies was awarded the Essential Air Service contract offering flights to Nashville. On June 30, 2011 Pacific Wings notified the USDOT of their intent to end service at OWB, saying that they were "unable to procure counter or gate space at Nashville International Airport on reasonable terms," and on October 20, 2011 American Airlines code-share partner Cape Air was selected to operate flights to their hub at Lambert–St. Louis International Airport with service beginning on December 5, 2011.

DKBM loco No.7 with a passenger train on its way to Rödelheim Originally the train ran around the field on a simple circuit with only one station: "Postdamm". This was soon complemented by a second station, named "Rödelheim" on the opposite side to make two train operations possible. Then a third station called "Mühlenstroth Kleinbahnhof" was built next to the engine shed and workshop in the centre of the circuit and connected to it via a rail triangle. Now an end to end service form "Mühlenstroth Klb" via "Rödelheim" to "Postdamm" with the locomotive running around its train at both ends was introduced.

Ohlone/Chynoweth–Almaden (commonly known as the Almaden Shuttle) was a short light rail route operated by Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) in southern San Jose, California, with three stops. Service into the Almaden Valley was also provided by VTA bus route 13, which also entirely duplicates the light rail service. VTA proposed to end service on the Ohlone/Chynoweth–Almaden line in late 2019, and officially announced plans to terminate service on the line and replace it with bus 64a on December 28, 2019. On VTA maps, this line was colored purple, but VTA personnel does not call it the Purple Line, much less refer to it as the Line 900 on official documents.

In 2015, work commenced on the Metro Tunnel, a rail tunnel through the Melbourne CBD between the Sunbury line at South Kensington and the Dandenong corridor at South Yarra. On completion, the Sunbury line will be merged with the Dandenong lines and operate as an end-to-end service through the tunnel. Work to extend platforms and upgrade traction power, in order to enable the operation of High Capacity Metro Trains on the Sunbury section of the new line, was funded in 2019. The works will include power and track improvements to trains travelling through the Metro Tunnel, overhead electrification works between Sunbury and South Kensington and at South Yarra, signalling power upgrades and additional infrastructure at Calder Park sidings.

On May 1, 2011, Delta Connection partner ASA began non-stop service from MFE to ATL and ended service from MFE to MEM (flights from MFE to ATL were then operated by ExpressJet following the merger of this regional airline with Atlantic Southeast). This route was discontinued on May 1, 2012. On May 24, 2009 Allegiant Air began bi-weekly, non-stop service to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), in addition to non-stop service to Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) twice a week, and non- stop service to Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS) five times a week. On August 15, 2009, Allegiant announced that it would end service from MFE to LAX; Allegiant later reinstated service and flies non-stop to LAX seasonally.

Allegany County Transit's Fixed Route service serves the areas of Cumberland, Frostburg and La Vale with route Monday through Friday (except holidays) during daytime hours. It also operates two additional fixed routes that operate, respectively, in the morning before the other routes begin service, and in the late afternoon/early evening after the other routes end service. Finally, it operates a route that connects Cumberland and La Vale with Lonaconing and Westernport; this route operates only on Tuesdays and Fridays. The present route structure took effect on September 4, 2012. Fares for this service are $2.00, half fares are for senior citizens (65 years or older), Half fare card holders, or for those with Medicare, and children 5 or younger ride for free.

With the drastic reduction in West End service that took place at this time, it was decided to run all Sea Beach trains at maximum length 8 cars. The Brighton Express, in the meantime, continued to run a fluctuating 6 or 8 car service during the course of the day, which required much coupling and cutting of trains. As the D-Types were better suited for this purpose, having a much more advanced type of coupler, it was decided to keep these cars for that purpose on the Brighton Express, where they served virtually until the end of their lives. A further change came over the days April 13–15, 1963, when the units used on the Sea Beach Express were transferred to the West End Express as well as the various Nassau Street services as needed.

New Terminal Under Construction Robertsfield's small, single-story terminals, in use since the end of the Civil War, were often overcrowded and did not conform to modern aviation standards, nor meet with the requirements set by the ICAO. In addition, the poor condition of RIA's single runway had been recognized as inadequate since at least 2012, when an Air France flight from Paris suffered significant damage to its landing gear, brakes and hydraulic systems during an arrival on the patched and potholed asphalt, an incident which cost as much as half a million dollars to the airline's plane and was cited as a contributing factor to the airline's decision to end service to Liberia . The project undertakes to completely overhaul nearly every aspect of the airport to meet international civil aviation regulations and allow for expanded passenger and cargo operations. The existing 57,000m² tarmac apron is currently being expanded to 85,000m².

MFVN providers: :(a) Manage and maintain their network to ensure end-to-end service quality and reliability from the service subscriber location to the PSTN or other MFVN peer network, :(b) Provide a service that is functionally equivalent to traditional analog phone service with respect to dialing, dial plan, call completion, carriage of voice signals and protocols, and loop voltage treatment, :(c) Provide real- time transmission of voice signals that carry FAX, data, Point of Sale (POS), burglar alarm and fire alarm system formats unchanged, :(d) Provide both professional installation and subscriber information on home wiring practices for residential installations if self-installation is available, which preserves primary line seizure for alarm system interconnection, and :(e) Have major and minor disaster recovery plans to address both individual customer outages and widespread events such as tornados, ice storms or other occurrences of a catastrophic nature, which include specific network power restoration procedures equivalent to those of traditional landline telephone services.

A secondary translator station for WMVS, broadcasting on UHF channel 36 and holding the calls WMVS-LD, was launched on August 14, 2012 from the MPTV Tower to better serve the main portion of WMVS' service area with UHF-only antennas,Application Search Details along with a boost in power to the main WMVS signal courtesy of a Public Telecommunications Facilities Program award.2010 PTFP Television Awards The secondary translator carried WMVS' main feed and all three of its subchannels, but identified each channel via PSIP as "10.1X" to reduce confusion with the main channel and allow viewers to choose which signal serves their needs better. The translator service was temporarily ended in mid-June 2020 as another after-effect of the spectrum auction where it was required to end service, as 36 is the last channel in the new UHF bandplan and will eventually be the physical channel for WMKE-CD. Milwaukee PBS currently has a construction permit active to restore WMVS-LD on VHF channel 10.

The end of the Petitie Ceinture's passenger service was also the dissolution of the Grande-Ceinture-Petite-Ceinture Syndicate, and the concession obligations were divided between the Est, Nord and État (that had since bought the Ouest company) railway companies in a decree on 23 October 1934. The future of the Paris-Auteuil passenger line, now owned by the État (state) company, had been a subject of debate since the State (as the État company) bought the line ten years before: first proposed as an addition to the still-growing Métropolitan underground railway network, the state also imagined extending its electrified service along the former Ceinture Rive Gauche line, but in the end service continued as before with the only change being, from 1935, a tarification modification to a single-class 'Metro type' ticket and fee. The Nord company alone ran the Petite Ceinture (Rive Gauche, Rive Droite, Courcelles) from 1935, which meant the closing of the Ceinture Syndicate-owned La Chapelle-Saint-Denis engine hangars. Discussions about re- opening a Petite Ceinture passenger service beginning the same year ended fruitlessly two years later, with the only change being a "Courcelles-Ceinture à Auteuil-Boulogne" renaming.
