The garishly dressed Bunny, played by Nikomeh Anderson, prances around in wedged pleather boots, an apron, and unfailing smile; Evil Queen Gregory, played by Matt Phillips, sports the ultimate DIY dominatrix gear; a stern-faced Crow, played by Anna Cain Bianco, is the play's omnipotent and foreboding soothsayer; and a simpleton, played by James Clements, amuses in overly-baggy sweaters and droopy eyes.
It didn't all work — fringed pants resembled costumes for a lost yeti and droopy balloon-shade crystal-covered frocks called to mind a deflated disco ball (they were better as jeans) — but shearling coats and bags trailing more yard-long fat jellyfish tentacles were so squishably soft you wanted to either reach out and pet them or cuddle up inside one.
There were also summer puffers patched together from violently clashing camouflage prints; droopy blazers right off the sad dad rack at the thrift shop; oversized newsboy caps that looked like post-hangover ice bags; squishy sneakers more reminiscent of wrestler shoes than of the Balenciaga Triple S pontoon boats that are the current rage in sneaker footwear; the occasional crown of laurels; and actual shower shoes because … why not?
