The village collectively celebrates the Feast of the Transfiguration as its local holiday — referred to as "the Day" (Денот) — after the village's eponymous monastery. The celebration of Lazarus Saturday is also upheld devotedly, a tradition which has very nearly died out in the rest of the country. The village is famous for its crushed red pepper or chilli flakes which it is credited with inventing. The local variety of chili pepper is known as "буковец" (bukovec).

The son of a land agent, Fitzgibbon was born at Limerick in 1803. He was devotedly attached to fishing from boyhood. He came to London when he was 14, after his father died. In January 1935, McGrath was named Chairman of the Massachusetts Democratic Party. Although he was a political lieutenant of James Michael Curley, he was accepted by other leaders of the Democratic Party because he worked devotedly for the entire ticket. When ill health brought General Aleshire's retirement four years later, General Sharpe was appointed to succeed him as Quartermaster General on September 16, 1916. This was approximately seven months before the United States declared war against Germany.

James Boyden. Europe, 1450 to 1789: Encyclopaedia of the Early Modern World. In April 1528, when Philip was eleven months old, he received the oath of allegiance as heir to the crown from the Cortes of Castile. From that time until the death of his mother Isabella in 1539, he was raised in the royal court of Castile under the care of his mother and one of her Portuguese ladies, Doña Leonor de Mascarenhas, to whom he was devotedly attached.

In the meantime in the North of Poland another Reformed church was formed. The Czech Brethren, persecuted by the Czech king Ferdinand I Habsburg fled to Greater Poland (1548), where they settled in the estates of the local aristocrats whom they very quickly converted to their faith. The number of their congregations quickly swelled from 20 in 1555 to 64 in 1570. Their main centre was the city of Leszno, where they were settled under the patronage of the devotedly Reformed Leszczyński family.

When he was 11 his family moved west to Kolín, a town near Prague. There he attended a classic gymnázium and took particular interest in the study of language, taking classes in Latin, Greek, German, and French, in addition to his native language of Czech. He was, however, still able to work, and being appointed one of the first two lecturers on pastoral theology, he prepared an admirable course of lectures, which were on two separate occasions delivered at the four Scottish universities. On 11 October 1870 he was publicly entertained in Glasgow, and presented with his portrait. But Jack spurns the idea, as he is already engaged to marry a country girl, Daisy Lane, who, he believes, loves him devotedly. Despite speaking no Korean, Henney became a household name through the South Korean hit TV drama, My Lovely Sam Soon, aka My Name is Kim Sam Soon. He played the role of Dr. Henry Kim, a surgeon who is devotedly in love with Hee-jin (played by Jung Ryeo-won). Sam Soon was the most popular Korean drama in 2005; although Henney was starring as the supporting actor, his performance and good looks were widely noticed. Henney then starred in another drama, "Spring Waltz" in 2006.

Darul Islam is otherwise known as Darul Salam, which means "land of peace". The organization upholds doctrines that are not in line with the general beliefs of the majority of Muslims in Nigeria. First, the members of the organization believe that human society, and more specifically Nigerian society, has been corrupted by indecencies and licentiousness. This corruption militates against the practice of Islam; hence, it is necessary to migrate to the "land of Islam" or "land of peace" where Islam will be devotedly practiced.

Indeed, in the middle of the eleventh century, the Kanem Empire, whose influence extended into Sudan, converted to Islam. At the same time but more toward West Africa, the reigning ruler of the Bornu Empire embraced Islam. As these kingdoms adopted Islam, their populace thereafter devotedly followed suit. In praising the Africans' zealousness to Islam, the fourteenth-century explorer Ibn Battuta stated that mosques were so crowded on Fridays, that unless one went very early, it was impossible to find a place to sit.

Elmar Rojas' work inquires in the inexhaustible reservoir of the Guatemalan mestizo, drinking from the primeval sources of his culture. It shows and provokes the awe felt when getting amorously and devotedly closer to reality, closer to culture. However, his work does not follow the immediate path of folklore, or any other non-depurated mechanism, but that of a painstaking artistic reconstruction of reality's composite order, which Rojas turns decipherable, trapped in its immanence so it will captivate and hallucinate from the bottom of his productions.

When Warren Tracey is on the verge of death from pancreas cancer, Paul Tracey decided to try to arrange a meeting between him and Castle. That is far from easy. Paul visits Joe's hometown of Calico Rock, Arkansas, where the incapacitated Joe lives, devotedly tending the town's baseball field and being supported by his two brothers. R. B. Litchfield was the only son of Captain Richard Litchfield of Cheltenham, England. He was admitted to the Inner Temple in 1854, and was called to the Bar in 1863. He was a founder of the Working Men's College, London, where he worked devotedly from 1854 to 1901, being the College's Bursar, and becoming its Vice Principal between 1872 and 1875.

In order to maintain their synagogue, the Biala Hasidim along with Rabbi Halberstam created a religious association for Ahawas Thora (The Love of Torah) in 1912. Halberstam devotedly fought against deviations from the tradition, even the minor ones. In Galicia he was regarded as an outstanding expert in the Jewish law and many orthodox rabbis asked him for advice. Beams wrote: The plot ranges across the continent to Romania and Constantinople, and in the continuations as far as the Holy Land and the Cyclades. However, the romance's geography cannot be mapped onto the "real" Europe: it contains just as many fantastic places as real ones.

Udayasthamana Pooja This seva involves devotedly worshipping Lord Venkateshwara at Shree Balaji Temple right from the morning aarti to the last pooja at night by the devotee (all alankarams, vastrams, archana, bhog, deeparadhana, flower and tulsi offerings). By offering this seva to the Lord, the devotee is relieved of all the sins and sufferings surrounding his life and is blessed with a bright future, good health and great prosperity all round. Significance of Mumbai Shree Balaji Swarna Mandir As per Vedas, Hindu Temple is a miniature cosmos. It is the house of God.

During his sermon one day, a child shouted aloud in the church: "Mother, mother, see the dove resting on the shoulder of Father Didacus! I could preach like that too if a dove told me all that I should say!" Didacus prayed devotedly before his sermons, even scourging himself to the point of blood, in order to draw down God's mercy upon the people.

Two members left Sol Music Ensemble and Mehabadi invited two students of SOL Music Educational Institute (Houman Behzadi & Pouria Keshavarz) to join the Ensemble and to form a violin trio. They performed and recorded SOL’s 4th album (“Gaiety”) in 2000 (by Hamavaz Ahang publishing company). Gaiety's cover was designed by Hida Behzadi using the picture of a painting by Bahman Mehabadi. In all temples of Beereshwara the major instrument Dollu is hung by means of a thick thread tied to hooks in the ceiling. Every time worship is offered to Beereshwara, there should be an instantaneous beating of the dollu. This expressive literature its oral tradition goes by the legend called 'Halumatha Purana' or Kuruba Purana. The story is that the demon Dolla-asura worshiped Shiva devotedly and, when Shiva appeared before him, asked him to ask for a boon; that he should be able to swallow Shiva himself, or else he requests immortality which Shiva refuses so that the enraged Dollu swallows Shiva.

The Polish Reformed movement goes back to the half of the 16th century when the teachings of Swiss Reformers like Zwingli and Calvin began to make their way to Poland. Earlier, Lutheranism had made way to Poland, especially in the cities. A great boost to the Reformation movement happened when in 1525 the devotedly Roman Catholic king Sigismund I the Old (1506–48) accepted as his vassal in Prussia, the Lutheran prince Albert I, Duke of Prussia, thus creating the first Protestant country in the World. Members of George IV's court speculated that Lehzen would be the next to leave, but she remained silent on the issue and preserved her position. Over the Hill is a 1931 American Pre-Code black-and-white melodrama film directed by Henry King for Fox Film Corporation. Starring Mae Marsh, James Dunn, Sally Eilers, and Olin Howland, the story concerns a young mother who devotedly cares for her children but when they grow up, most of them turn their backs on her and she has no choice but to go live in the poorhouse. The film is a remake of the 1920 silent film Over the Hill to the Poorhouse, which had been a major box-office hit for Fox. The story was based on a pair of poems by Will Carleton.

Battle-Pieces and Aspects of the War (1866) is the first book of poetry published by the American author Herman Melville. The volume is dedicated "To the Memory of the Three Hundred Thousand Who in the War For the Maintenance of the Union Fell Devotedly Under the Flag of Their Fathers" and its 72 poems deal with the battles and personalities of the American Civil War and their aftermath. Also included are Notes and a Supplement in prose in which Melville sets forth his thoughts on how the Post-war Reconstruction should be carried out. Even as the Seattle-area rock scene came to international mainstream media attention, riot grrrl remained a willfully underground phenomenon. In his book Findings, Bernstein printed the entire address entitled: “Tribute to John F. Kennedy” in 1982. Since then, the extracted words: “This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly, than ever before” have inspired, been reprinted, graffitied, spoken, blogged, sung and dedicated to victims of unspeakable tragedies. Even Jeff Richman, Green-Wood Cemetery’s historian in Brooklyn, New York (where Bernstein is buried), quoted the words when interviewed by The New York Times. Following the death of Freddie Gray in 2015, Baltimore, Maryland enforced a city-wide curfew; which in turn closed the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

The narrator also neglects to tell the Luk, his mother, or his father's family in Malaysia that Ba, the narrator's father, has died. While in Malaysia, the narrator also devotedly thinks about Thong, whom he very much misses and completely ends his relationship with Jim by first reporting him to the authorities as a drug smuggler and then sending him a postcard that reads, ‘Keep everything’ (89). The mail clerk, a young girl around Henry's age, sympathizes with him, and when Keiko does not appear at the Panama Hotel for the last meeting Henry had tried to arrange with her on what turns out to be V-J Day, the mail clerk brings him his returned envelope with a bunch of star lilies. Henry turns his attention to the girl, named Ethel Chen, and eventually marries her. On his deathbed, Henry's father insinuates that he had something to do with stopping the correspondence between Henry and Keiko. Henry and Ethel celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary, after which Ethel falls ill with cancer for seven years and Henry devotedly cares for her in their home.

Sir Alexander Gibson's mission was to make classical music and opera accessible to all, and throughout his career he devotedly encouraged musicians and singers to rise to the very best of their abilities. In 1947, almost two decades after March's poem was published, RKO paid him a little over $1,000 for the rights to the piece. The screen adaptation included a number of alterations to the original text. The protagonist's name was changed from Pansy Jones to Stoker Thompson, his race was changed from black to white, he went from being a bigamist to being devotedly married, and his beating and subsequent death on a subway track was turned into an alley assault and a shattered hand.

Benjamin Ewell is most-remembered for his tireless efforts to rebuild the College of William and Mary against overwhelming adversity after the American Civil War. He also served as chancellor of the Archdiocese of New York from 1914 to 1921. He received his episcopal consecration on the following October 28 from Archbishop Patrick Hayes, with Bishops Joseph Conroy and John O'Connor serving as co-consecrators, at St. Patrick's Cathedral. He selected as his episcopal motto: Adoro Te Devote (Latin: "Devotedly I Adore Thee").

Since Bosna didn't seem willing to let him go, by summer 1986, Danilović and Partizan decided to act unilaterally as the player moved to Belgrade knowing full well he'd have to sit out a year before taking part in official competitions. The move marked the beginning of a long friendship and professional association between Danilović and Vujošević with the twenty-eight-year-old coach initially acting as mentor to the sixteen-year-old player. By now Vujošević also moved up in the Partizan club hierarchy, becoming head coach in place of Vladislav Lučić while young Danilović trained with the first team as well as individually. Due to the unfortunate administrative situation, Danilović could only practice with Partizan players, which he did vigorously and devotedly up to 7 or 8 hours per day.

Watts was born in Marylebone in central London on the birthday of George Frederic Handel (after whom he was named), to the second wife of a poor piano-maker. Delicate in health and with his mother dying while he was still young, he was home- schooled by his father in a conservative interpretation of Christianity as well as via the classics such as the Iliad. The former put him off conventional religion for life, while the latter was a continual influence on his art. He showed artistic promise very early, learning sculpture from the age of 10 with William Behnes, starting to study devotedly the Elgin Marbles (later writing "It was from them alone that I learned") and then enrolling as a student at the Royal Academy at the age of 18.

Bolton Brown went on to create experimental landscape paintings, migrating between Woodstock and New York City and working within the style that came to be known as Tonalism. Murder of Canute the Holy by Christian Albrecht von Benzon, 1843 The reign of Canute has been interpreted differently through the times; from a violent king who tyrannized his subjects, to a strict but fair ruler who devotedly supported the Roman Catholic Church and fought for justice without regard to his own person. He was never a thoroughly popular saint in Denmark, but his sainthood granted the Danish monarchy an aura of divine legitimacy. The cause of the rebellion which killed Canute is unknown, but has been speculated as originating in fines issued to the peasants breaking the leding of 1085 as specified in the Chronicon Roskildense, or as a result of his vigorous tithe policy. The document of his donation to Lund Cathedral was the oldest comprehensive text from Denmark, and provided broad insights into Danish post-Viking Age society.

Adelaide stayed beside William's deathbed devotedly, not going to bed herself for more than ten days.Ziegler, p.289 William IV died from heart failure in the early hours of the morning of 20 June 1837 at Windsor Castle, where he was buried. Victoria was proclaimed as queen, but subject to the rights of any issue that might be born to Adelaide on the remotely possible chance that she was pregnant. The first queen dowager in over a century (Charles II's widow, Catherine of Braganza, had died in 1705, and Mary of Modena, wife of the deposed James II, died in 1718), Adelaide survived her husband by twelve years. In early October 1838, for health reasons, Adelaide travelled to Malta aboard HMS Hastings, stopping at Gibraltar on the way and staying on the island for three months.

Franckenberg was born in (Groß-Glogau, Silesia, into an ancient family devotedly attached to the Habsburg Monarchy of Austria, and which remained so after the conquest of Silesia by Frederick II of Prussia in 1740. Although he was the sole male heir of his family and assured of the protection of Empress Maria Theresa, he decided, when quite young, to become a priest. On his return to Austria, he was made coadjutor to the Bishop of Görz in Carniola (1750–54), dean of the collegiate church of All Saints at Prague (1754), later of that of Saints Cosmas and Damian at Alt-Bunzlau in Bohemia (1756), and finally Archbishop of Mechelen and Primate of the Low Countries on 27 May 1759.

In the same dispatch, he wrote that Göring "is so devotedly loyal to his chief that I see no indication whatever of his leading a movement against the Führer". Ascher wrote that this dispatch is so completely at odds with the rest of the dispatches Ogilvie-Forbes sent between October 1938-February 1939 that it is hard to guess what Ogilvie-Forbes was thinking when he wrote it. Ascher argued that the most likely explanation was that the dispatch of 3 January was meant to appease Henderson when he returned to the embassy in Berlin, as Ogilvie-Forbes knew that Henderson would disapprove of what he was writing, as indeed he did. In a dispatch in January 1939, Ogilvie-Forbes warned that Hitler was planning to turn the Franco-German friendship pact of 6 December 1938 into a non-aggression pact, which would leave Britain alone as the Reich's main enemy in western Europe.

His wife, an experienced and well-qualified teacher, commenced the school; only a few of the neighbors were disposed to attend preaching, while most of the Indians were devotedly attached to their old customs and religions. The outlook was truly discouraging, and was literally "a day of small things;" the people were very friendly, but shy, and seemed afraid to attend preaching. By the turn of the 20th century, there were close to 1,500 Jews living in Duluth, most of who were Russian or Eastern European.

Ratuprasad Nathalal Bhatt of Bharuch participated in all freedom movements and was imprisoned, Vinodchandra Chunilal Shah, "Savinaya Kaanoon Bhang" movement, Chunilal Dharamlal Shah of Amod and Chhotubhai Mitilal Patel of Tegava village had devotedly served the freedom fighters, Tribhuvandas Purushottamdas Luhaar (Sundaram) of Matar village, non-co- operation movement in 1920, Desaibhai Bakorbhai Patel of Kahanava village, historical Dandi Kuch, Nathuram Kashiram Bhatt of Raima village, Yashvantray Rajaram Joshi of Malanpore village of Hansot district, Shanabhai Jhaverbhai Patel of Uber village, Vitthalbhai Ranchhodabhai Patel of Sarbhan village, Raysangh Dabhai Parmar and Vishnu Dattatrey Bhoder of Bajodara village had participated in all the freedom movements in the district along with Chhotubhai Purani. Surajben Hardev Banarasi of Aasta village of Hansot Taluka, who was born in 1905 and widowed at a young age, got renowned as the leading lady freedom fighter and female worker. She was imprisoned for participating in the freedom movement, contributed significantly in the activities related to the uplift of the women and activities of creative programs. Like the other districts of Gujarat Bharuch district also had participated actively in various freedom struggles and had suffered loss of property and lives of their citizens.
