Balance first recorded using the alias "Murderwerkers". The Murderwerkers track, "Blue Funk (Scars for E)", was included on the Sterile Records cassette compilation Standard Response. Balance also published an underground zine, Stabmental, and released a track, "A Thin Veil of Blood", also using the nom du guerre Stabmental. "A Thin Veil of Blood" was included on the cassette compilation Deleted Funtime – Various Tunes for Various Loons.

The blog essay reviewed the achievements of the Filipino painter from his earlier years on to his then-latest 2010 show. The phrase-tag, which the critic posited in his art and culture blogsite A Party- Crashing Angle, instigated a dialogue between the artist and the critic, which culminated in a late-2011 series of paintings by Antonio.
