Centered Riding is a method of horse riding and riding instruction that is based on the idea of having the rider seated in the most effective position. The quantized state systems (QSS) methods are a family of numerical integration solvers based on the idea of state quantization, dual to the traditional idea of time discretization. According to Gustaf Norén, the artists' collective Caligola is based on the idea of building a community; the black capes worn by performers represent the equality of artists and the renunciation of their differences. Their goal is to overcome conventions and borders and to expand and connect art in all its forms. On 9 July 1980, the Crocodile Club a group of MEPs was founded by Altiero Spinelli himself. For more than 60 years, Union of European Federalists (UEF) and its youth organisation Young European Federalists (JEF) with a "belief that only a European Federation, based on the idea of unity in diversity, could overcome the division of the European continent" have been actively working to promote the idea of European federalism. MEP Andrew Duff and president of UEF has welcomed the launching of the Spinelli Group saying, that "existing federalist forces and organisations, such as the UEF and the Intergroup, welcome this new initiative".

At the beginning of the project, it was not clear how many computers in total are needed to guarantee that a conspiracy of n faulty computers could not "thwart" the efforts of the correctly-operating ones to reach consensus.

Both the American and the British dialects have the expression "to table a topic" as a short way of saying "to lay a topic on the table" and "to make a topic lie on the table", but these have opposite meanings in the different varieties of the languages. The difference is due to how long the topic is thought to stay on the table. He conceived the idea for this automobile safety feature on October 1, 1924 and had a working prototype by December 1925. Adler’s speed control system was based on the idea of car speed governors, but he believed they should only be activated at particularly dangerous spots on the road. Marzanna Mother of Poland: modern imagination of goddess by Marek Hapon Marzanna (in Polish), Marena (in Russian), Mara (in Ukrainian), Morana (in Czech, Slovene, and Serbo-Croatian), Morena (in Slovak and Macedonian) or Mora (in Bulgarian) is a pagan Slavic goddess associated with seasonal rites based on the idea of death and rebirth of nature. She is an ancient goddess associated with winter's death and rebirth and dreams. In ancient Slavic rites, the death of the Goddess Marzanna at the end of winter becomes the rebirth of Spring of the Goddess Kostroma (Russian), Lada or Vesna representing the coming of Spring. The basis of the philosophical ideas of Giuliano Kremmerz is « sacred materialism », which should not be confused with the depreciatory meaning given to the word “materialism” as much by economic doctrines as by a particular vision of the philosophy of science. In his role as Secretary of State for War, Churchill had since 1919 been arguing for withdrawal from the Middle East territories since it would involve Britain "in immense expense for military establishments and development work far exceeding any possibiity of return" and in 1920 in regards to Palestine "The Palestine venture is the most difficult to withdraw from and the one which will certainly never yield any profit of a material kind." On 14 February 1921, Churchill took over at the Colonial Office tasked with making economies in the Middle East.

However, the method to measure rainfall in those days was primitive, measuring the depth of rain water in puddles. This method could not tell the exact rainfall, because there are differences in the amount of rainwater absorbed into the ground by the nature of the local soil. To prevent errors of this kind, King Sejong the Great ordered the Gwansanggam (Hangul:관상감, Hanja:觀象監) (the Joseon kingdom's research institute of astronomy, geography, calendar and weather) to build a rainwater container, the Cheugugi, made of iron in August 1441 (according to the lunar calendar) based on the idea of his Crown Prince, later became Munjong of Joseon.

Micropia is a museum in Amsterdam based on the idea of distributing information about microbes, which are often associated with illness and disease despite their essential function in the daily functioning of human life. The museum opened on 30 September 2014. It claims to be the first of its kind. The two main focuses for Micropia are: establishing a positive view of microbes and “becoming also an international platform for microbiology that brings diverse interest groups together in order to bridge the gap between science and the general public”. One of the basic premises for the museum is to encourage a more positive relationship between microbes and the general public because they believe that this will encourage more study and research into “micro-nature.” Many of the exhibits in Micropia focus on microbes’ existence in daily life.

Halo effect is “the name given to the phenomenon whereby evaluators tend to be influenced by their previous judgments of performance or personality.” The halo effect which is a cognitive bias can possibly prevent someone from accepting a person, a product or a brand based on the idea of an unfounded belief on what is good or bad. Laws passed by the Catholic Church governed not just the laws between Christians and infidels in matters of religious affairs, but also civil affairs.
