Seiryū is stubborn, anti-social and has a bad temper. He harbors a deep contempt for Guren due to his attempted murder of Seimei and considers Masahiro to be unworthy to be Seimei's successor. Seiryū even went as far as to say that if Guren ever harmed a human again, he would personally kill him. He attacks with blasts of lightning and fights with a large two handed scythe.

Ludwig was aide to Grand Master Paul von Rusdorf 1436-40, Komtur of Schönsee (Wąbrzeźno) near Thorn (Toruń) (1442–47), and Komtur of Mewe (Gniew) (1446–50). After the death of his more compromising uncle in 1449, Ludwig became Grand Master in 1450, despite being of limited ability and bad temper.

A text from the Temple of Edfu says of Hathor, "the gods play the sistrum for her, the goddesses dance for her to dispel her bad temper." A hymn to the goddess Raet-Tawy as a form of Hathor at the temple of Medamud describes the Festival of Drunkenness as part of her mythic return to Egypt. Women carry bouquets of flowers, drunken revelers play drums, and people and animals from foreign lands dance for her as she enters the temple's festival booth. The noise of the celebration drives away hostile powers and ensures the goddess will remain in her joyful form as she awaits the male god of the temple, her mythological consort Montu, whose son she will bear.

Meanwhile, the neighboring Fosdick family – the Major, his sons Torquil and Jasper – carry on a seemingly perpetual feud with the Passengers that is as often characterized by displays of better manners and more proper etiquette as it is by bad temper and argument. Joanna Brandon, a local young woman, further complicates the lives of several of the principals; she may be Powell’s most sensitively rendered female character.

On 30 August 2007, Mohammed Ali's lawyer R S Bajwa submitted that his 30-year-old client was eligible for a defence of "sudden and grave provocation", saying that his dunking of Nonoi in a pail of water was a response to the incessant cries by the girl, which provoked his client. In his closing submissions, Mr Bajwa cited a British murder case in 1986, where a man was provoked into killing his 17-day-old baby due to the infant's non-stop crying and his murder conviction was substitued into one of culpable homicide not amounting to murder (or manslaughter) due to a defence of sudden and grave provocation. The lawyer said that his client's low intelligence, lack of parenting skills and bad temper were factors in favour of such a defence. "Due to the incessant crying, the accused just snapped and decided to punish the deceased to quieten her." said Mr Bajwa.

They wind up the Cast-iron man and he walks towards Mo, but trips on the dog. Prince Thinkabit figures out how to get rid of the Cast-iron Man: he tickles the Cast-iron man to get him on his back, then he pushes a pin in the Cast-iron Man to get him to stand up again, but now the Cast-iron Man is facing the other way, so he goes to King Scowleyow's kingdom and destroys it instead. The Cast-iron man eventually gets stuck in the mud at the bottom of the ocean and is never heard from again. Chapter Seven: A boy named Timtom falls in love with Princess Pattycake, the most beautiful princess, who unfortunately has a bad temper and tries to beat anyone who talks to her.
