Bob Dylan references the book in his song, It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding), in the lyric "Darkness at the break of noon".

The design gun armament of the S-class was three guns and a single 2-pounder (40 mm) "pom-pom" anti-aircraft gun. Torpedo armament was four torpedo tubes in two twin rotating mounts on the ships' centreline and two tubes at the break of the forecastle for easily aimed snap-shots in close action. Havlíčkův Brod is both road and railway hub. There are five rail lines leading off the main station: to Kolín and Prague (operating since 1870), to Pardubice (1871), to Brno (1898), to Jihlava (1871) and a local line to Humpolec (1894). Historically, the main line running through the town was Vienna-Znojmo- Jihlava-Kolín, but after WWII the line to Brno was rebuilt, made double-track and electrified, and Praha-HB-Brno became one of main passenger and freight train routes in Czechoslovakia. In the 2017 season, Persebaya Surabaya again competed in Liga 2, and succeeded in becoming the champion by defeating PSMS Medan in the final, then promotion to Liga 1. In the 2018 season, Persebaya managed to rank 5th in the final standings of Liga 1. This ranking is quite surprising to the public football homeland because as a promotion team, Persebaya is not expected to penetrate the top 5, at the same time the promotion teams are less able to compete even some you have to go back to Liga 2. A cartoon depicting the horrors of goods transfer at the break of gauge at Gloucester in 1843 Where trains encounter a different gauge, such as at the Spanish–French border or the Russian–Chinese one, the traditional solution has been transloading (often called transshipment in discussions of break of gauge), that is, the transfer of passengers and freight to cars on the other system. When transloading from one gauge to another, often the quantities of rolling stock are unbalanced between the two systems, leading to more idle rolling stock on one system than the other. Barnes suggests that the decision was coerced. Currently, a short form of this prayer is recited every morning and evening at the worship centres of Ayyavazhi or at homes, and the full version of it during special occasions Other prayer formulas of Uccippatippu – a form of incantationary prayer that speaks about the special attributes of God, recited currently during the noon-worship, Vazhappatippu – are a form of adulatory repetitive prayer that has statements of wishes for the prosperity of the people of Santror Makkal and seem to have developed during the course of the early development of Ayyavazhi. Pothippu, another short formulaic prayer, the content of which invokes God for forgiveness, protection, means of livelihood, attitudes of tolerance and amiability towards one another, and, intelligence, seems to have evolved over the years. It is now recited at the start of every collective worship session. The followers of Ayyavazhi are enjoined to recite this prayer at the break of each day.

After appearing in a series of concerts organized by underground playwright Shuji Terayama in 1968, she signed with Toshiba, presently EMI Music Japan, and released the popular songs, 夜が明けたら (Yo ga aketara; At the Break of Dawn) and かもめ (Kamome; Gull) in 1969.
