Ward Family House is a historic home located near Sugar Grove, Watauga County, North Carolina. It was built about 1897, and is a two-story, Queen Anne style frame dwelling. It is sheathed in novelty German siding and gables with five rows of diamond-edge wood shingles. Atop the roof is a cupola located between asymmetrically placed brick chimneys with stucco panels.

Congregational Church of the Evangel is a historic Congregational church at 1950 Bedford Ave. in Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York, New York. It was built in 1916-1917 and is an asymmetrically massed Late Gothic Revival style building. It is constructed of gray-green random quarry faced ashlar with cast stone trim, a variegated slate roof, copper gutters, and stained and leaded glass windows.
On the exterior, the principal tower on the south side is high and square. On the north side there are two towers, the taller on tall. A campanile at the northeast corner is square and tall. The plan allowed for expansion at either end, a major reason for the informal medievally-inspired design, which would not suffer if asymmetrically developed.

It is a six-storey building of Federation Anglo Dutch style with a corner oriel window and a central two bay facade surmounted by a high triangular pediment. The tower to the oriel window is missing. An unusual use of a projecting cornice occurs to the oriel window and the end bay which balances it in an asymmetrically manner.

Zion United Methodist Church, is a historic Methodist Episcopal church located at Princess Anne, Somerset County, Maryland. It is a single-story asymmetrically planned "T"-shaped timber frame structure constructed in 1887 and remodeled in 1916. It features a three-story entrance tower with an open belfry. It served the African-American community along Polks Road in northern Somerset County.
1885 and c. 1897. The fifth house, 42 Hyde, is a Shingle style house built in 1885. The Hyde Avenue area was originally part of a farm, which was subdivided and mostly sold off by George Hyde, a city assessor, selectman, and bank director. The house at 36 Hyde, while somewhat boxy, has a wealth of Queen Anne styling, including an asymmetrically sited entry, decorative wood shingling, and spindled friezes on its porch.

The Frank Schapler House is a private house located at 106 East Lake Street in Petoskey, Michigan. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.. The Frank Schapler House is an unusual example in Petoskey of a bungalow with Prairie School and Period architectural influences. It is a hip- roof bungalow constructed of blond brick. It has hip-roof entrance porch, supported by pier arches, positioned asymmetrically in the front.
One of the gymnotiforms most specialized to living in deep river channels, O. tamandua resembles fishes adapted to caves in several respects. Their elongated, laterally compressed bodies are nearly unpigmented, appearing bright pink due to the blood underneath. It has a "3/4" facade, with three asymmetrically-placed windows on each floor, and an off-center entry between two of them, with no window above.

But the majority of the work is from a rebuilding which occurred during the first half of the 14th century, i.e. entirely during the Decorated period, when aisles and a clerestory were added to the nave and the chancel was extended eastward. Carley, Rachel. Biltmore: An American Masterpiece, (2012). Hunt sited the four-story Indiana limestone-built home to face east with a 375-foot facade to fit into the mountainous topography behind. The facade is asymmetrically balanced with two projecting wings connecting to the entrance tower with an open loggia to the left side and a windowed arcade to the right, which holds the Winter Garden that was fashionable during the Victorian era.
The tavern is a 2-1/2 story L-shaped wood frame structure, five bays wide, with an asymmetrically pitched gable roof. A massive brick foundation in the basement gives evidence that the tavern once had a large central chimney, but this has been removed and replaced by small chimneys elsewhere. A hip roofed single- story porch spans most of the front facade, and wraps around to the right side. Windows are replacement sash throughout.

In the interior, the ambitious decoration with colored marbles overwhelms the attempts at novel design.

The main facade is three bays wide, with windows placed slightly asymmetrically around the center entrance.
Ice Formation on coarse shore of Copper Harbor, Upper Peninsula Michigan. Rocks routinely contain pores of varying size and shape, regardless of origin or location. Rock voids are essentially small cracks, and serve as the location from which a crack can propagate if the rock is placed in tension. If ice accumulates in a pore asymmetrically, the ice will place the rock in tension in a plane perpendicular to the ice accumulation direction.

Bank of North Queensland, Cooktown, 1899 The site faces due west to Charlotte Street and runs to the east rising to a large granite outcrop. The building which is two- storeyed and of rendered brick, has a rectangular plan form which runs to the street alignment. A single-storeyed wing runs off the north east corner at the rear of the building. The existing roof over the two- storeyed section is asymmetrically hipped.

Wotruba was first and foremost a sculptor, and the church was a collaboration with Fritz G. Mayr, who continued the work after Wotruba's death. The first documentation of the church is from 1334. The Winter Inn is a three- story, L-shaped red brick Late Victorian Vernacular hotel with a flat roof. The construction is generally utilitarian, with external decoration confined to brownstone beltcourses above the second and third story windows and a metal-bracketed cornice. Most windows are asymmetrically-arranged one-over-one sash windows, but three arched tripartite windows with leaded glass fanlights are arranged on the first floor. There is a double-door entrance at the canted corner.
St. George's Cathedral, Perth, is also of brick, and the details are of a simple Early English design. Blacket designed a single tower and spire, asymmetrically-placed and of majestic proportions. When a tower was eventually built, it was not of Blacket's design. The House at 81-83 Gardner Street is a historic house at 81-83 Gardner Street in the Newton Corner village of Newton, Massachusetts. Pseudogymnoascus destructans (formerly known as Geomyces destructans) is a psychrophilic (cold-loving) fungus that causes white-nose syndrome (WNS), a fatal disease that has devastated bat populations in parts of the United States and Canada. Unlike species of Geomyces, P. destructans forms asymmetrically curved conidia. Pseudogymnoascus destructans grows very slowly on artificial media and cannot grow at temperatures above 20 °C. It can grow around 4 °C to 20 °C, which encompasses the temperatures found in winter bat hibernacula.

Signal Hill is a historic home and farm complex located at Culpeper, Culpeper County, Virginia. Much of the 2012–present Syrian Civil War has been fought asymmetrically. The Syrian National Coalition along with the Mujahideen and Kurdish Democratic Union Party, have been engaging with the forces of the Syrian government through asymmetric means. Notleymere (1885-89), also known as the Frank Norton estate, is a historic house located on the eastern shore of Cazenovia Lake in Cazenovia, Madison County, New York. The large, Shingle Style "summer cottage" was designed by architect Robert W. Gibson. It is a picturesque, asymmetrically massed, -story structure, sheathed in dark-stained wooden shingles and covered by a steeply pitched, multi-gabled, shingle roof. It features two tall, corbelled brick chimneys and a three-story polygonal turret.

Budlong Farm is an historic farmhouse in Warwick, Rhode Island. It is a 1-1/2 story wood frame house, with a gambrel roof and a large central chimney. Its current entrance is asymmetrically placed on the north facade, although the original main entry was on the south side. The house was probably built sometime between 1700 and 1720 by John Budlong, whose family was one of the first to settle the area after King Philip's War.

It is a two-story wood frame structure, with a hip roof and clapboard siding. It is seven bays wide, with a typical five-bay facade augmented by asymmetrically placed windows to the left. The front entrance is flanked by sidelight windows and pilasters, and topped by a decorative carved entablature and dentillated cornice.

Kreischer House, also known as Kreischer Mansion, is a historic home located at Charleston, Staten Island, New York City. Built by German immigrant Balthasar Kreischer about 1885, it is a large, asymmetrically massed -story, wood-frame house in the American Queen Anne style. The rectangular house features spacious verandas, gables with jigsaw bargeboards, decorative railings, posts and brackets, tall chimneys, and a corner tower. It was one of two mansions built by Kreischer for his sons.
Wheeler–Stokely Mansion, also known as Hawkeye, Magnolia Farm, and Stokely Music Hall, is a historic home located at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. It was built in 1912, and is a large 2 1/2-story, asymmetrically massed, Arts and Crafts style buff brick mansion. The house is ornamented with bands of ceramic tile and has a tile roof. It features a 1 1/2-story arcaded porch, porte cochere, and porch with second story sunroom / sleeping porch.
Webster's remaining wing is in roughcast stone with ashlar dressings and a slate roof. Paley and Austin's west wing is in variegated red sandstone. Its entrance front faces the east has a porch placed asymmetrically, which is flanked by turrets with domes and pinnacles. Behind the porch is a tower with a copper- covered ogee-shaped cupola, and to the right of this is another tower, which is broad and square with a lead-covered pyramidal roof.
The building is asymmetrically arranged with a number of corrugated zincalume-clad gables of varying heights and skillion-roofed verandah awnings. The verandahs to the south and east are enclosed with lattice panels and the awnings are supported on chamfered timber posts with decorative capitals and brackets. The verandah to the north (former fernery) is enclosed with lattice and timber louvers. The rear extensions and original kitchen wing are also constructed with gabled roof forms interconnecting at varying heights.
As noted above, their facial discs help owls to funnel the sound of prey to their ears. In many species, these discs are placed asymmetrically, for better directional location. Owl plumage is generally cryptic, although several species have facial and head markings, including face masks, ear tufts, and brightly coloured irises. These markings are generally more common in species inhabiting open habitats, and are thought to be used in signaling with other owls in low-light conditions.
It was built in 1869 by Moses Barlow on the site of a former tavern, and is a 2 1/2-story, Second Empire style brick dwelling with a slate mansard roof. The house has several asymmetrically placed side and rear wings. It features a two-story six-hole (three up, three down) privy thought to be the only house with such a structure. Access to the unique feature can be obtained from both levels of the house.
The gate is flanked by two lampposts dating from the 1920s. A three-bay side wing extends from the rear side of the building along the east side of the courtyard. The four-storey warehouse on the other side of the block is seven bays wide and features an asymmetrically placed wall dormer with the remains of a hoist. A three-bay side wing to the rear connects it to the side wing of the house on Vandkunsten.
Van Arkel designs are characterized by the frequent use of bay windows and loggias, as well as asymmetrically placed balconies, towers and domes. His design for the Helios building won third prize at the architectural competition of the 1900 World's Fair in Paris. Twelve of his buildings in Amsterdam were designated national monuments in 2001. The Asscher diamond factory has also been nominated for national monument status, and another 17 buildings in Amsterdam have been nominated to become municipal monuments.
Made almost entirely of red brick, the highly asymmetrical façade stands out for its extraordinary vertical development and a mix of details: it is divided into the ground floor, mezzanine, main floor, and two upper floors. The arrangement of the decorative elements apparently lacks any order and makes it difficult to analyze the ensemble. The structure is dominated by the polifora of the noble floor, decorated by pointed frames. The top levels have monofora, bifora, trifora, and quadrifora, all placed asymmetrically.
Machine Shed: The machine shed is a 16 foot by 30 foot asymmetrically gables structure built in the 1920s. It has a concrete foundation and vertical board siding with three sets of doors. The interior contains a workbench and the base for an electrical generator used until 1940 to supply electricity to the farm. Granary / Corn Crib: The granary is a gable roofed building measuring 18 feet by 10 feet, with a granary on one end and corn crib in the other.
Manor Place Baths Manor Place Baths is a former public baths, swimming pool and boxing venue in Manor Place off Walworth Road in Newington, London. The late-19th century Victorian structure, designed by Edward I'Anson, is a grade II listed building. It is a largely symmetrical building, asymmetrically composed from a variety of Arts and Crafts and Flemish Renaissance elements. It was built in red brick in Flemish bond with terracotta dressings, and features a clock tower and a large bathing hall.
The Putnam Farm is located in a rural area of northern Brooklyn, on the north side of Spaulding Road east of Connecticut Route 169. The house is set among rolling fields, facing roughly south toward the road, which is lined with stone walls. The house is large in size but modest in styling, 2-1/2 stories in height, with a gabled roof and clapboarded exterior. Its main facade is eight bays across, with two entrances and asymmetrically placed window bays.
The fill Fargo built for the highway bridge approach cost roughly the same. The Croton powerhouse has two adjoining asymmetrically connected buildings: the generator building on the west and the turbine building to the east arranged in an L shape. About 3,000 oak timber pilings support a concrete foundation, with the perimeter walls supported on sheet steel pilings, which also prevent water from undercutting the foundation. His country studies, initially limited to Africa, taught him that a national bourgeoisie geared towards a national project, neither existed nor was it emerging. The House at 306 Broadway in Methuen, Massachusetts is a well-preserved example of a modest Greek Revival house built c. 1830. It is of a type that was somewhat common in Methuen from the 1830s to the 1850s. It is a -story wood frame structure with its gable end facing the street, but its entry centered on the long side wall. The front was originally three asymmetrically located windows, but this has since been replaced by a virtual wall of five windows.
The carved coat of arms over the main archway, together with the carved seal of the Board embedded in the chimney on the Albert Street facade, are the only signs of the building's former use as government offices. The corner of the building on Macquarie Street is marked by a gable asymmetrically related to the entry doors. The brickwork is flush. The existing window joinery is a mix of double hung sash windows and windows with Queen Anne style upper multipaned sashes.
This may be an addition or alteration, but was possibly intended as the base of a corner tower. A rear tower placement was not usual in James Barnet designs, but nearby Leichhardt Post Office (1887-8), has a rear-sited tower along its major roadside elevation, rather than a corner tower at its main public entrance.Heritage, p. 2/39 The upper level to Silver Street therefore appears asymmetrically, as the extra bay adds on to a symmetrical five-window elevation.
Lungteh was established in 1979. In 2018 Lungteh won a contract to produce eleven Tuo Chiang Block II corvette and four minelayers for the Taiwanese Navy. Lungteh exhibited at IDEX in 2019 alongside other Taiwanese defense companies. On May 24, 2019 Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-Wen visited Lungteh to highlight the mass production of the Tuo Chiang Block II corvette, dubbed a carrier killer by the press. She gave a speech about asymmetrically countering China’s military with smart military procurement and technological innovation.
The church has a plain, white- washed exterior with crow-stepped gables, an octagonal tower with the above- mentioned reconstructed renaissance spire and few but rather large Gothic windows with fine stone dressing. The John H. Traband House is a historic home located at Upper Marlboro in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. It was built between 1895 and 1897, and is a -story, asymmetrically shaped Queen Anne influenced frame structure of modest size and detailing. Also located on the property are a frame two-story gable-roofed carriage house. The house was constructed as the residence of a prominent citizen, John H. Traband (1857–1938), who was a successful businessman and landholder in Upper Marlboro.

Located at the corner of 12th and Market Streets, the skyscraper contains in the original building, with more space provided by a modern addition. The tower is split between the building's cross-bar that serves as the skyscraper's spine, and the rest of the tower which projects from the spine asymmetrically.

Nodal was first described in the chick embryo, where genes activin receptor IIa, Sonic hedgehog (Shh), and chick nodal-related 1 (cNR-1) were found to be asymmetrically expressed across Hensen’s node with cnR-1 expressed on the left side. Misexpressing Shh or activin receptor IIa on the right side randomized heart asymmetry in the chick. This asymmetrical gene expression appears to be triggered by cell movements in the node. Triloculinella is a genus of Miliolacean forams with a fusiform to asymmetrically globular test. Inner chambers, one-half coil in length, are crypto-quinqueloculine to quinqueloculine in arrangement; The final three to five visible from the exterior. The aperture is an arch at the end of the final chamber, largely covered by a broad apertural flap, which distinguishes the genus from Triloculina, Quinqueloculina and such, characterized by a more narrow tooth. Radial glial cells, also called radial glial progenitor cells, divide asymmetrically to produce a neuroblast and another radial glial cell that will re-enter the cell cycle. This mitosis occurs in the germinal neuroepithelium (or germinal zone), when a radial glial cell divides to produce the neuroblast. The facade, instead of hiding the functions of the interior, expressed them clearly, and asymmetrically.

Since the degree of model overfitting is determined by both its power and the amount of training it receives, providing a convolutional network with more training examples can reduce overfitting. Since these networks are usually trained with all available data, one approach is to either generate new data from scratch (if possible) or perturb existing data to create new ones. For example, input images could be asymmetrically cropped by a few percent to create new examples with the same label as the original.

Liberton Tower provides a good example of a typical noble residence of its period, one of the relatively few that was not substantially altered in later centuries. Featureless except for its small, asymmetrically-arranged windows, it is coated in distinctive yellow harling and has been described as "grim and ponderous". The tower is rectangular in plan, being along the east–west axis and along the north–south axis. The 15th century structure is well preserved and was restored in 1994.
The Edward Sewall Garrison is located in a residential area west of downtown Exeter, on the south side of Epping Road facing the Park Street Common. It is a 2-1/2 story wood frame structure with a gabled roof and clapboarded exterior. Its main block is four bays wide, arranged slightly asymmetrically, with the main entrance in the center-left bay and interior chimneys at the sides. There are enclosed porches on each side, and ells extending to the rear and the right.
In 1944 Heinkel produced different designs of the project using either two Heinkel HeS 011 or two BMW 003 axial-flow turbojets. One of the turbojets was placed on top of the fuselage and the other in a ventral position. The engine below the fuselage was placed asymmetrically in order to provide space for the retractable front undercarriage wheel. The designs of this aircraft would be used by Heinkel to develop the He 162 Volksjäger, which used only one turbojet engine, towards the end of 1944.
The Graves Library is located on the east side of Maine Street (Maine State Route 9) in the center of Kennebunkport. It is a two-story brick building, with a hip roof and granite foundation. Its front facade, facing west, is five bays wide, with windows set in segmented-arch openings, and the entrance located asymmetrically in the second bay from the left, in a round-arch opening with a half-round transom. The interior of the building retains Federal period fixtures and trim.
Under each of the four inside corners of the porte-cochère are sculptures of Marland's four hunting dogs, carved by Italian sculptor, Ernest G. Pellegrini. The windows with black painted metal surrounds, to contrast with the light colored stone, are asymmetrically arranged. Galeotti, P. (1990). Territorial behaviour and habitat selection in an urban population of the tawny owl Strix aluco L. Italian Journal of Zoology, 57(1), 59-66. Although many people believe this owl has exceptional night vision, its retina is no more sensitive than a human's and its asymmetrically placed ears are key to its hunting by giving it excellent directional hearing. Its nocturnal habits and eerie, easily imitated call, have led to a mythical association of the tawny owl with bad luck and death.
The hotel was built by the architects Manuel Muñoz Monasterio and Juan Jáuregui Briales in 1959–1960, who incorporated in its design the revisionist tendencies of the modern movement in those years, with the introduction of sets of colors, textures, wavy lines, etc.. The blacks and blues in this painting are used to represent their struggle, for example in the saying “blue in the face” or “beaten till your black and blue”. Like most species of Acacia it has phyllodes rather than true leaves. The house stands in a rural area of northern Rehoboth, on the south side of Agricultural Avenue east of its junction with Rocky Hill Road. It is a 2-1/2 story, wood-framed house, with a gabled roof, roughly centered chimney, and an ell extending to the right side. It is oriented facing west, and has an asymmetrically arranged six-bay front facade. Its main entrance is in the third bay from the left, sheltered by a small porch with a segmented-arch pediment.
The minuet of the second quartet in C major is built of tied suspensions in the first violin, viola and cello, so that the listener loses all sense of downbeat. The fourth quartet has the off-beat alla zingarese movement. The minuet of the fifth quartet has a first section of 18 measures, divided asymmetrically. The Samuel Farnsworth House is located in northwestern West Hartford, on the west side of Mountain Road, a busy local north-south main road. It is set on a rise above the road, the lot fronted by a dry-laid brownstone retaining wall. It is a 1-1/2 story wood frame structure with a front gable roof and central brick chimney. Its front facade is three bays wide, with two windows placed asymmetrically on either side of the entrance, which is slightly off-center.
The Emerson–Poole House stands in a residential area northeast of Wakefield's downtown area, on the north side of Salem Street between Main and Pleasant Streets. It is a -story wood-frame structure, five bays wide, with a side gable roof, clapboard siding, and two asymmetrically placed chimneys. The main facade is also slightly asymmetrical. A mid-19th-century porch with modest vernacular Italianate features extends across the full width of the front, and additions project to the side and rear of the original structure.
The differential diagnosis for podoconiosis includes other causes of tropical lymphedema, such as filariasis or leprosy, and mycetoma pedis. While filariasis is generally unilateral, podoconiosis affects the legs bilaterally albeit asymmetrically and in an ascending manner. Podoconiosis very rarely affects the groin while filariasis frequently involves the groin: a high ratio of lymphoedema/hydrocele cases in an area suggests podoconiosis as the dominant cause of lymphedema. The Pegaso Z-403 Monocasco was a two-level monocoque (chassisless) coach, fitted with a diesel engine asymmetrically mounted amidships, designed in 1949 and built in Spain by Enasa between 1951 and 1957. The first Z-403 body design dates back to 1949. It brought notable contributions to passenger service for its safety and comfort and was considered an "auto-pullman" by virtue of its great comfort and its amenities. In the standard version it was equipped with radio, bar, and a small bookcase.
The car incorporates a nolder profile on the upper portion of the tail and a fairing on the underbody that generates downforce when the car is at speed. The car's standard seats are upholstered with hides from Connolly leather, and are fitted asymmetrically in the car; this results in the driver being slightly closer to the car's centerline than the passenger. At launch, the only model available was the Berlinetta. The Spider (convertible version), and the GTS (targa top model) were introduced in 1995.

The Tom Smith House is a historic house on Arkansas Highway 74, east of Elkins, Arkansas in Washington County. It is a single-story brick structure, with a side gable roof, end chimneys, and a four-bay front facade. The bricks, which were locally made, are four courses deep, and end in a cornice shaped out of S-shaped molded bricks, an extremely rare detail. The front facade is asymmetrically arranged, with two doors in the center bays and sash windows in the outer bays.

The Maldives contain 2.86 percent of the world coral reefs. The FAO estimated in 1992 that a sustainable yield of about 30,000 tonnes per year was possible for commercial reef fish. The atoll basins, which are by far the largest part of the Maldivian atolls, were identified as having large reef fish resources.
In leukocytes responding to a chemoattractant, the cellular polarity is regulated by activities of small Rho guanosine triphosphatases (Rho GTPases) and the phosphoinositide 3-kinases (PI3Ks). In neutrophils, lipid products of PI3Ks regulate activation of Rho GTPases and are required for cell motility. They accumulate asymmetrically to the plasma membrane at the leading edge of polarized cells. Spatially regulating Rho GTPases and organizing the leading edge of the cell, PI3Ks and their lipid products could play pivotal roles in establishing leukocyte polarity, as compass molecules that tell the cell where to crawl.

On the night of 9 November, technicians began disconnecting the GUCP by unhooking and lowering the hydrogen vent line. Teams performed an initial inspection of the flight seal and a quick disconnect prior to sending them to labs for thorough engineering analysis. Engineers reported an unevenly (asymmetrically) compressed internal seal and the quick disconnect hardware also seemed to have a less concentric fit than pre-fueling measurements indicated. Inspections also confirmed the condition of the hardware did not match the observations documented when it was installed on the external tank inside the VAB.

Based on Van Bragt's study, scholars have tried to investigate the possibility for adherents of a religion such as Christianity to belong to multiple religions. The approach to Christian multiple religious belonging, according to Devaka Premawardhana, can be divided into two trends: Peter Phan's approach based on a Christological ground, in which he emphasises on Christ's "asymmetrically superior status", and Francis Clooney's approach rooted in a methodological ground, which tries to cross boundaries into another religion just as religions must have discrete entities. These two approaches are summarised below.
In addition to general health and susceptibility to disease, research has also studied the link between FA and physical fitness. Research has found that lower levels of lower-body FA is associated with faster running speeds in Jamaican sprinters, and individuals with greater body asymmetry have been shown to move more asymmetrically while running, although do not experience higher metabolic costs than more symmetrical individuals. The residence was built at the same time as the new station and replaced the former combined office/residence constructed in 1864. The new Station Master's residence conformed to a pattern that evolved in the 1880s which expressed the front elevation asymmetrically, with a verandah extending only halfway across the front and a projecting master bedroom. The Henry Strongman House stands in eastern Dublin, on the north side of Peterborough Road (NH 101) just west of its junction with Gerry Road. It is a 1-1/2 story wood frame structure, with a gabled roof and clapboarded exterior. It has a six-bay front facade, with sash windows placed asymmetrically and the entrance set left of center. The placement of the windows and the brick chimney are suggestive of the idea that the rightmost bay is a later addition to what was once a symmetrical five-bay structure.
Anhydrous CuCl2 adopts a distorted cadmium iodide structure. In this motif, the copper centers are octahedral. The Stephen Bacon House is located north of Natick's modern downtown, on a lot bounded on the west by North Main Street (Massachusetts Route 27), the south by Gilbert Road, and the east by Franconia Avenue. Its main facade is five bays wide, with asymmetrically placed windows and a roughly centered entrance. A four-bay 2-1/2 story ell extends to the right, set at a recess from the main block.

A roughly-built narthex (or ante-chapel) was later added to the outside of the east wall, 3m in depth and 6m in width. The velocity distribution of black hole natal kicks seems similar to that of neutron star kick velocities. One might have expected that it would be the momenta that were the same with black holes receiving lower velocity than neutron stars due to their higher mass but that doesn't seem to be the case, which may be due to the fall-back of asymmetrically expelled matter increasing the momentum of the resulting black hole.
The façade is topped with an asymmetrically placed, three-story campanile enclosed by a copper dome and a finial cross. Inside this campanile, a new carillon was installed in 1988. It was Del Gaudio's intention to draw from the Romanesque style common to parishioners' homes and churches in Italy. The Mather Homestead is located in the Clay-Arsenal neighborhood on Hartford's north side, on the north side of Mahl Avenue just west of Main Street, the historic main road between downtown Hartford and Windsor. It is a two-story brick building, covered by a low-pitch hip roof. Its main facade faces south, and is asymmetrically arranged, with three closely spaced windows at the center of the second floor and one at the left end. The first floor is sheltered by a full-width porch with six Doric columns, and has a center entrance.
The entrance drive with flanking shrubberies and central carriage loop (in actual fact an oval) of a mid 19th Century large suburban villa are well planted and complement a fine contemporary house. A winding drive leads from an impressive iron and sandstone entrance gateway, to an irregularly shaped carriage loop consisting of a roughly triangular shrubbery and an oval flower garden. The drive and loop are asymmetrically planned, curved for maximum length, screening and visual effect. The carriageway turns around a tear drop shaped garden that is landscaped with modern plantings of shrubs and roses.
The Grange hall is located on the east side of US 1 in the main village of Monticello, just north of School Street. It is a 2-1/2 story wood frame structure, with a front- facing gable roof, and an exterior sheathed in its original tin siding. The west-facing front facade has a centered entrance, with asymmetrically placed windows on either side. The second level has one window above the entrance and a second above the left window; there is a single window in the gable end.
The Douglas house is a two-story wood frame structure, finished with a gable roof, two interior brick chimneys, clapboard siding, and granite foundation. There are two main entrances to the house, one in an asymmetrically placed three-story tower on the east side of the building, and another on the south side of the house, facing the driveway. The two entrances are connected by a single-story wraparound porch supported by groups of ornately decorated square columns. Roof lines of the porch, main roof, and tower roof are dentillated and bracketed.
The basement was built from bricks and it has two massive vaults of 6x12m. The ground floor is arranged asymmetrically, consisting of three 4 x 9m, 2.5 x 4.5m and 7 x 7m chambers. The upper storey has six chambers: large 9 x 3m hall, two 5 x 5m symmetrically positioned rooms, forming bay windows over viewing the street, a 3.5 x 4m room and a 4 x 3m kitchen, with auxiliary room of 2.5 x 2.5m. Arrangement of rooms has remained unchanged despite of certain later partition works in the ground floor.
Merrill Hall is set on a rise facing Farmington's Main Street to the west, just south of the towon's central business district. It is a Romanesque Revival building 2-1/2 stories in height, constructed of brick with granite and wood trim. Its main facade is asymmetrically arranged, with a low round tower to the right, and a taller square tower to the left, the latter topped by a belfry and octagonal bellcast roof. The main entrance lies between them sheltered by a deep porch with three round arches.
The roof was converted to a transverse gable form with the breakfront across it, balanced asymmetrically by a gabled dormer vent. The largest roof feature, though, was the new lantern, an octagonal, heavily layered design with an ogival metal-clad roof and weather-vane finial. A gabled parapet terminated the roof at the west end, and below that was a bay repeating the central bays on the breakfront and counterbalancing the mass concentrated at the other end of the elevation. The early chimneys appear to have been removed.
The Bradlee School building is set high on a hill on the west side of Andover Street, overlooking the village of Ballardvale. It is a2-1/2 story red brick building, with a hip roof and an asymmetrically placed projecting gabled section at the traditional east-facing front. The building's massing is characteristic of the Queen Anne Period, with generally asymmetrical styling, and large gabled dormers on the sides. Its entrances (at the front and north side) are set in large round-arch openings, and the first-floor windows also have round arched tops.

The Acadian House is located in a residential setting just northeast of the town center of Guilford, on the south side of Union Street near its junction with Market Place. It is a 2 1/2-story timber framed structure, with a gabled roof, large central chimney, and clapboarded exterior. Its main facade, oriented at an angle to the street, is three bays wide, with a central entrance framed with simple moulding and topped by a fourlight transom window. The windows on either side of the entrance are placed asymmetrically.
The Pistol Factory Dwelling is located in eastern Hamden, set on a knoll above Whitney Avenue just north of its junction with Mather Street. It is a 2-1/2 story wood frame structure, with a side gable roof, two asymmetrically placed brick chimneys, and a clapboarded exterior. The main facade is five bays wide, with windows in a slightly asymmetrical placement around the main entrance. The entrance is flanked by fluted boards that resemble pilasters, sidelight windows, and another set of fluted boards, and is topped by a half-round transom window.
The ram building is one unusual manifestation of this once very large sheep property, evidently the largest in Victoria when it was subdivided for soldier settlement in 1946. Barunah Plains homestead is a large, single storey bluestone residence, comprising two main sections forming a U-shape around the rear courtyard, infilled in the 1900s to the 1910s. The eastern section of the building was built in 1866 to Davidson and Henderson's design. This eastern section is asymmetrically composed with a cast iron verandah at the north-east corner.
Leaves of A. palaeorufinerve are simple in structure with a palmate actinodromous vein structure in which the primary veins originate at the base of the lamina and run out towards the margin. The leaves range between three and five-lobed with a length to width ratio of 1:2, giving an overall pentagonal outline. The leaves have three or five primary veins, and at least one specimen is estimated to have been long by wide in overall dimensions. The samaras of A. palaeorufinerve have a nutlet which is flattened asymmetrically and a high attachment angle.
The tailgate is no longer horizontally split and has been replaced with a conventional top hinged tailgate made from composite, but retaining the asymmetrically mounted license plate as a design cue from previous generations of the Discovery. The roof is still stepped over the third row, though it is now largely cosmetic in comparison to the previous models and the roof now has a strong taper to the back. The interior closely follows that from other contemporary Land Rover models, while continuing the 3-row tradition of the Discovery.
Dark woolen warps and borders are associated with Arab Khamseh rugs, warps are rarely depressed, the colour scheme is more subdued. Specifically, a stylized bird ("murgh") pattern is often seen on rugs attributed to the confederation, arranged around a succession of small, lozenge shaped medallions. Basseri rugs are asymmetrically knotted, brighter in colours, with more open space and smaller ornaments and figure with Orange as the specific color. The Baharlu are a Turkic-speaking tribe settled around Darab, and few carpets are known from this more agricultural region.
73 Mansion is a two-and-a-half-story frame house on a painted brick foundation sided in clapboard with decorative shingles and painted trim. It is topped by a hipped roof with the original slate, lower cross-gables and a pyramidal tower with weathervane, pierced by gabled dormer windows and a paneled and corbelled brick chimney. Its facades are characterized by overlapping planes and textures, consistent with Queen Anne Style houses. Bays project, one of which has a cutaway bay window, asymmetrically placed on the south (front) facade and both sides.
The bird's ears (as opposed to its ear tufts) are placed asymmetrically on its head, enabling it to use the differences between each ear's perception of sound to home in on prey. Additionally, the feathers the eastern screech owl uses to fly are serrated at their tips. This muffles the noise the bird makes when it flaps its wings, enabling it to sneak up on prey quietly. Both the specialized ear placement and wing feathers are a feature shared by most living owl species to aid them in hunting in darkness.
While not as well studied as in Drosophila and zebrafish, segmentation in the leech has been described as “budding” segmentation. Early divisions within the leech embryo result in teloblast cells, which are stem cells that divide asymmetrically to create bandlets of blast cells. Furthermore, there are five different teloblast lineages (N, M, O, P, and Q), with one set for each side of the midline. The N and Q lineages contribute two blast cells for each segment, while the M, O, and P lineages only contribute one cell per segment.

One daughter cell, generally that receiving the Numb, is able to adopt a neuronal fate and innervate the developing nervous system.
It states that a complex phosphorylation cascade enables aPKC to phosphorylate Numb in the pre-mitotic cell, decreasing its affinity for the plasma membrane. This releases Numb from the aPKC pole, increasing its presence in the non-aPKC pole. This establishes the asymmetric distribution of Numb, with the Numb/Pon crescent on one side of the mother cell. Another proposed component of the localization complex is Partner of Numb (PON), which is asymmetrically localized during mitosis and acts as an adaptor protein by binding and mediating the anchoring of Numb.

The Panch Mahal meaning 'Five level Palace' was commissioned by Akbar This structure stands close to the Zenana quarters (Harem) which supports the supposition that it was used for entertainment and relaxation. This is one of the most important buildings in Fatehpur Sikri. This is an extraordinary structure employing the design elements of a Buddhist Temple; entirely columnar, consisting of four stories of decreasing size arranged asymmetrically on the ground floor, which contains 84 columns.

A three-bladed Levasseur propeller was probably used for the first flight on 12 March. Only four more flights had been made by the end of April, with the NiD 650 reluctant to take-off, so new floats of greater area and with two steps were tried. Strong propeller torque made it hard to keep on line at take-off so the fin was modified and the floats fuelled asymmetrically. More unsuccessful take-off tests followed; on 22 July the NiD 650, just leaving the water, crashed at high speed.

The interior of the house exhibits finishes and alterations from a wide variety of dates, most notably from the early and late 18th century.

There are no outbuildings located on the property. The Austin house consists of a large, essentially rectangular, 2 1/2 story brick main block and an asymmetrically placed rear wing.

The Cloisters, also known as Cloisters Castle, is a historic home in Lutherville, Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. It was built about 1930 and is a -story house, irregular in elevation and plan with much architectural ornament. It is built of large, random-sized blocks of a native gray and gold colored rock known as Butler stone, with details principally of sandstone, wood from the site, plaster, and wrought iron. The main façade is dominated by two asymmetrically placed, projecting sections topped by massive half-timbered gables which were originally part of a Medieval house in Domrémy, France.

Dr. Job Holmes House is located on the south side of Main Street (United States Route 1), a short way east of the downtown area. Just to its east stands the Holmes Cottage, also a property of the St. Croix Historical Society. Additionally, sensory impairment, revealed through limb numbness or the sensation of prickling, may also concurrently arise with alien hand syndrome, as both symptoms are indicative of cortical dysfunction. Gabled and domestically scaled, these early American Queen Anne homes were built of warm, soft brick enclosing square terracotta panels, with an arched side passage leading to an inner court and back house. Sputnik decreased the yield of infective viral particle by 70% and also reduced the amoeba lysis by threefold at 24h.
Engine House No. 34 is a historic fire station at 444 Western Avenue near the corner of Waverly Street in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. The station, a 2-1/2 story brick and brownstone structure, was designed by Charles Bateman and built in 1888. It is one of a small number of Richardson Romanesque structures in the neighborhood, and features an engine entrance recessed behind a large round arch set asymmetrically on the main facade. The roof is gabled, although it has a hipped section above, with a large hipped projection to the left.
The hulls can be kept narrower by attaching riggers to the gunwales, so that the oarlocks can be placed farther out to carry longer oars. A narrower hull means the rowers cannot sit side by side and so they sit one behind another. During high- performance driving, ESC can intervene when unwanted, because steering input may not always be indicative of the intended direction of travel (such as during controlled drifting). ESC estimates the direction of the skid, and then applies the brakes to individual wheels asymmetrically in order to create torque about the vehicle's vertical axis, opposing the skid and bringing the vehicle back in line with the driver's commanded direction. Additionally, the system may reduce engine power or operate the transmission to slow the vehicle down. ESC can function on any surface, from dry pavement to frozen lakes.

The Bliss Building is set amidst a collection of wide city streets, hemmed in on the west by the major intersection of Lincoln and Salisbury Streets, and a railroad line and Interstate 290 to the east. There are three major epidermal cell types which all ultimately derive from the outermost (L1) tissue layer of the shoot apical meristem, called protodermal cells: trichomes, pavement cells and guard cells, all of which are arranged in a non-random fashion. An asymmetrical cell division occurs in protodermal cells resulting in one large cell that is fated to become a pavement cell and a smaller cell called a meristemoid that will eventually differentiate into the guard cells that surround a stoma. Another theory debating the sexual selection model of schizophrenia differentiates between the sexual selection rates of schizophrenia between genders, alluding that the disorder presents differently in the male and female brains, and thus, generates diversity in hemispheric growth and explains the presence of psychosis remaining in the human race today (Crow, 1993). This theory hypothesizes that there is a difference in the onset of psychosis between the male and female genders, and this onset difference causes relation in a man to sexual dimorphism in the cerebral cortex. More specifically, this theory hypothesizes that the onset of psychosis in the male brain leads to the cortex developing more laterally, or asymmetrically, then a female with the same psychosis.

Hassenstein–Reichardt detection model The Hassenstein–Reichardt detector model is considered to be the first mathematical model to propose that our visual system estimates motion by detecting a temporal cross-correlation of light intensities from two neighboring points, in short a theoretical neural circuit for how our visual system track motion. This model can explain and predict phi phenomenon and its reversed version. This model consists two locations and two visual inputs, that if one input at one location is detected, the signal would be sent to the other location. Two visual inputs would be asymmetrically filtered in time, then the visual contrast at one location is multiplied with the time-delayed contrast from the other location.

"I" and "non-I", without rejection and without symbiotic fusion, conjointly inscribe memory traces that are dispersed asymmetrically but in a trans-subjective mode. The car with the larger engine had a much higher level of standard and luxury equipment to justify the expense. The transmission is attached behind the engine, with a driveshaft that sends power to the front of the car to an asymmetrically installed limited-slip differential which then supplies power to the front wheels using half shafts; this allowed the powertrain to remain slightly behind the front wheels. B. subtilis can divide symmetrically to make two daughter cells (binary fission), or asymmetrically, producing a single endospore that can remain viable for decades and is resistant to unfavourable environmental conditions such as drought, salinity, extreme pH, radiation, and solvents. The endospore is formed at times of nutritional stress and through the use of hydrolysis, allowing the organism to persist in the environment until conditions become favourable. Prior to the process of sporulation the cells might become motile by producing flagella, take up DNA from the environment, or produce antibiotics. These responses are viewed as attempts to seek out nutrients by seeking a more favourable environment, enabling the cell to make use of new beneficial genetic material or simply by killing off competition.
The original design for 834 called for a midblock 120-foot- wide building, but it was asymmetrically extended southward during construction after a holdout corner mansion was acquired by the developer. Because this happened with the steel frame of the building's structure already in place, the extra 30 feet of frontage would be allocated as a line of duplex apartments, so that the original developer blueprints remained more or less intact. Government House was designed by Wardell in the Victorian Italianate style; its likely inspiration was Queen Victoria's summer residence Osborne House on the Isle of Wight, England, built between 1845 and 1851, inspired by palazzi of the Italian Renaissance, which has similar detailing, picturesque massing, campanile-style towers, and royal associations. Government House is located on a hill in the centre of parkland just south of the central city, visible from many points around inner Melbourne. It consists of three separately articulated blocks housing different functions, each with their own entrance, asymmetrically arranged with a dominant central tall belvedere tower. The three-storey principal block contains the state rooms for official entertaining, a secondary two-storey wing to the north contains the private apartments of the vice-regal family.

The immortal DNA strand hypothesis was proposed in 1975 by John Cairns as a mechanism for adult stem cells to minimize mutations in their genomes. This hypothesis proposes that instead of segregating their DNA during mitosis in a random manner, adult stem cells divide their DNA asymmetrically, and retain a distinct template set of DNA strands (parental strands) in each division. By retaining the same set of template DNA strands, adult stem cells would pass mutations arising from errors in DNA replication on to non-stem cell daughters that soon terminally differentiate (end mitotic divisions and become a functional cell). Otherwise the diver will tend to rotate forwards or backwards until the centre of buoyancy is directly above the centre of gravity. In almost all cases the centre of buoyancy is nearer the head than the centre of gravity, and buoyancy compensators are all designed to provide this as the default condition, as an inverted diver floating at the surface is at risk of drowning. The lateral offset of centre of buoyancy from centre of gravity is generally insignificant unless the diver has been weighted asymmetrically between the sides, which is unusual, and seldom intentional, though it can occur when weights are ditched or lost from one side only. In 1994, it was reported that Betelgeuse undergoes sporadic decades-long dust production, followed by inactivity. In 1997, significant changes in the dust shell's morphology in one year were noted, suggesting that the shell is asymmetrically illuminated by a stellar radiation field strongly affected by the existence of photospheric hotspots. Burrowing owl (Athene cunicularia) Captive short-eared owl chick at about 18 days old Owls possess large, forward-facing eyes and ear-holes, a hawk-like beak, a flat face, and usually a conspicuous circle of feathers, a facial disc, around each eye. The feathers making up this disc can be adjusted to sharply focus sounds from varying distances onto the owls' asymmetrically placed ear cavities. Most birds of prey have eyes on the sides of their heads, but the stereoscopic nature of the owl's forward- facing eyes permits the greater sense of depth perception necessary for low- light hunting. Although owls have binocular vision, their large eyes are fixed in their sockets—as are those of most other birds—so they must turn their entire heads to change views.
A simple concrete parapet, with ribbed detail and four simple corner pinnacles, surmounts the tower and partially conceals the pyramidal roof that has a concrete apex surmounted by a fine wrought iron finial. The asymmetrically composed western facade of the building, addressing Ann Street, comprises the gabled ends of the western transept and, at the northern end, an entrance porch abutting the smaller gabled end of the Session House. North Front of Nottoway John Randolph commissioned renowned architect Henry Howard of New Orleans with the task of designing the grand mansion with the intention that no expense would be spared in the construction. Howard sited the three-story wooden frame house, that includes a one-story rusticated stucco-covered brick base on a concrete foundation, to face east towards the Mississippi River. The entrance facade is asymmetrically balanced with a projecting bedroom wing to the left side and a large curved bay with galleries on the right. The main five-bay structure, with a central projecting portico, emphasizes height rather than width with the main living areas on the second and third-stories both being in height above the one-story basement, scored to appear as stone, and featuring an arched niche flanked with narrow fenestrations.
The details of the signalling being used vary from species to species; for example, the two smallest species, Apis andreniformis and A. florea, dance on the upper surface of the comb, which is horizontal (not vertical, as in other species), and worker bees orient the dance in the actual compass direction of the resource to which they are recruiting. After visiting New York, Demkina traveled to Tokyo Electrical University (東京電機大学) in Japan, at the invitation of Professor Yoshio Machi, who studies claims of unusual human abilities. According to accounts on her personal website, after her experiences in London and New York, Demkina set several conditions for the tests, including that the subjects bring with them a medical certificate stating their health status, and that the diagnosis be restricted to a single specific part of the body – the head, the torso, or extremities – which she was to be informed of in advance. Demkina's website claims that she was able to see that one of the subjects had a prosthetic knee, and that another had asymmetrically placed internal organs. She also claims to have detected the early stages of pregnancy in a female subject, and an undulating spinal curvature in another subject.
The original design of Boonah Post Office was a simple, asymmetrically-composed porch and gable building with a small postal hall and large quarters component behind. The planning arrangement is assumed to have provided dual but independent operation of the postal and telegraphic functions around the single postal hall and counter with minimal space for mail sorting, telegraphic functions and staff facilities. The key alteration to the building concerns the enlargement and remodelling of the frontal component to provide an enlarged public space and telephone exchange facilities, and later the removal of the telegraphic function. Notwithstanding the changed pattern of circulation and use, the external presentation of the building is able to demonstrate key aspects of the original design and planning, particularly in relation to the quarters component, and subsequent phases of development, including the hipped and gabled roof form, the raised weatherboarded frontage to the street and various timberwork details.
Compounding the effects of cooler water was an eyewall replacement cycle. This resulted in rapid weakening, with Blanca's winds falling to 90 mph (150 km/h) by 12:00 UTC on June 5. The previously small core of Blanca dramatically expanded to 65 mi (100 km) across, with convection asymmetrically wrapping around it. During this period, a mid-level ridge north of the hurricane moved east and allowed Blanca to acquire a steady northwest track. Re-intensification ensued on June 6 as the hurricane moved away from its cold wake and traversed an area of warmer water.
